Going to the Skele-bros' House!!!
Deciding I had no choice, I walked back to Snowdin to go on that date with Papyrus. I mean, it is the least I can do after he spared me. Speaking of spare, I haven't heard a single word from Chara about Papyrus sparing me. While others would be glad to avoid that little demonic child, I kind of missed her. It's just, she is the only one I could actually talk to. Chara has been there since the VERY beginning! Due to my lonely state, I decided to call Toriel, hoping she would have a little chat with me. While I waited for an answer, I stopped near a little cabin and leaned my back against it.
The phone rang twice and, immediately, she picked up.
¨Hello, this is Toriel.¨ I heard her voice, clearly.
¨Hi, Mom!¨
¨Oh, I have missed your sweet voice, my child!¨ It was great to hear her ecstatic voice again. The last time I saw Toriel, she seemed extremely sad that I left her. But, I guess some time gave way to her old personality.
¨I missed you, too! It has been lonely here.¨
¨Where are you at now, my child?¨
¨I'm still in Snowdin. I was actually able to make some friends.¨ She hummed in response and everything was silent for a few seconds until I heard this satanic voice scream through the phone. It was hard to understand but it seemed to say my name and was, most likely, addressed to me. I gasped as I heard this and Toriel started to freak out at that.
¨My child! Are you alright?! Is something wrong?¨ Knowing that she hasn't heard that voice, I lied to her saying I almost tripped over a root. She calmed down once I explained and went back to asking me questions a mother would ask. I never had a mother who asked me such questions. My mother died and Grace could care less about my personal well-being, emotion wise. All she cared about was that I looked healthy enough to avoid suspicious glances from others. I growled. 'She always wanted to please her peers, even if they don't care doodley about her! And, I was the worthless one.' Angry tears trickled from my glossy eyes and down my red cheeks.
A mother. A woman, whether they gave birth to you or adopted you, who should ALWAYS be there for you. Teach you about boys. Help me practice house chores I will do later when I get older. The shoulder you cry on when things just don't go right. THAT is what a mother is and should do. Instead; I got an irresponsible, childish, arrogant, binge-drinking excuse of a mother to take care of me for part of my life. NINE. APPALLING. YEARS!!! I didn't notice Toriel hanging up until I was brought back to reality by the silence. I guess I was too focused on the past to listen to what she had to say.
I sighed and stuffed the phone back into my pocket; walking towards Papyrus. He was, currently, standing by the large cabin with colorful Christmas lights hanging. He noticed me and waved, excitedly at me. When I was standing in front of him, I shifted around and wiped the dry tears from my eyes.
¨SO YOU CAME BACK TO HAVE A DATE WITH ME! YOU MUST BE REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.............. I'LL HAVE TO TAKE YOU SOMEPLACE REALLY SPECIAL............ A PLACE I LIKE TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME!!!¨ Papyrus concluded, holding his hand out towards me. I giggled and placed my hand in his gloved ones.
¨Lead the way.¨ He walked me towards where Grillby's was and, then, made a U-turn back into the direction we came from. He probably forgot where it was. We stopped in front of the same cabin and he gestured, with his arms wide open, to where we will be having that date.
¨MY HOUSE!!!¨ he exclaimed, walking into the house. I face palmed at what I was doing. Even though I care about the tall skeleton, sometimes I wonder what is wrong with him. I let out a small chuckle and, after walking up the concrete stairs, opened the door into Papyrus' house. As I opened the door, a rush of warm air hit my skin. I flinched at the sudden contact and closed the door behind me; embracing the toasty interior. It looked simple, nothing too fancy. Almost to the point that he didn't even decorate the place himself! All that was different was the rock on a plate on the table, a sock with several sticky notes around it, and large TV. Everything else seemed normal, I guess.
I went towards the rock, staring at it confused. ¨THIS IS MY BROTHER'S PET ROCK. HE ALWAYS FORGETS TO FEED IT. AS USUAL, I HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.¨
¨I see.¨ I reply, looking questionably at the sprinkles on top of it. I am pretty sure that is not how you feed a rock. But, how should I know; things are different down here. Then, I walked towards the sock with a series of sticky notes on them. I read them:
¨SANS! PLEASE PICK UP YOUR SOCK!¨
¨ok.¨
¨DON'T PUT IT BACK DOWN! MOVE IT!¨
¨ok.¨
¨YOU MOVED IT TWO INCHES! MOVE IT TO YOUR ROOM!¨
¨ok.¨
¨AND DON'T BRING IT BACK!¨
¨ok.¨
¨IT'S STILL HERE!¨
¨didn't you just say not to bring it back to my room?¨
¨FORGET IT!¨
I laughed at the series of notes and Papyrus crossed his arms, seeming impatient. I wouldn't blame him. I am a little anxious about this as well. I have NEVER been on a date; nonetheless had a boyfriend! I don't know how to do this! I was internally freaking out but I tried to distract myself from my anxiety by looking through the book on the coffee table. I opened the book but was met with a quantum physics book; even though the cover said it was a joke book. I looked inside the physics book and there was another joke book. Then, unsurprisingly, inside was another quantum physics book.
'Geesh, Sans is a puzzling skeleton!' I thought to myself, knowing Sans would be the only one who could do something as complex as this. I put the book down and walked to the kitchen only to be met, face-to-face, with an extremely tall sink. My eyes widened at the sight and I attempted to look up.
¨IMPRESSED? I HAVE INCREASED THE HEIGHT OF MY SINK. NOW I CAN FIT MORE BONES UNDER IT! TAKE A LOOKSY!¨ I, without hesitation, opened the bottom drawer and I found the same dog from the fight with Papyrus nibbling the last bone inside there. I bit my lip, hoping to contain the laugh that is about to break loose. The skeleton, on the other hand, was far from pleased.
¨WHAT!?!?¨ Papyrus screamed, getting the dog's attention. The canine's eyes grew wide in realization and ran away from the cupboard. ¨CATCH THAT MEDDLING CANINE!¨ I, with all my might, went after the sneaky pup but it ran out the door. I huffed in disappointment, knowing full well that dog shouldn't have been in there. I mean how, in Odin's sake, did he even get in there?!
¨CURSES!!!¨ At that, Papyrus' comment was met with the sound of a trombone from upstairs. Without any guessing, I knew Sans was the cause of the instrument's music.
¨SANS! STOP PLAGUING MY LIFE WITH INCIDENTAL MUSIC!!!¨ After I finished looking through everything, I decided to go upstairs and check out the rooms. Papyrus came up and stand right next to me.
¨THAT'S MY ROOM! IF YOU'VE FINISHED LOOKING AROUND, WE COULD GO IN AND......... DO WHATEVER PEOPLE DO WHEN THEY DATE???¨ With a small amount of hesitation, I walked into the room with the quirky skeleton following. It was kind of like a child's bedroom; a perfect representation of what Papyrus is like. Action figures were lined in a row on a table. The Jolly Roger, a flag used by pirates back in the day, pinned up on his wall. Several books on shelves. A red racing car bed on the left corner and a PC in the upper right of the cozy room.
¨SO, UM.................... IF YOU'VE SEEN EVERYTHING, DO YOU WANT TO START THE DATE?¨ he asked, a large amount of hope layered in his voice. I gulped and tried to keep my heart from beating too hard. 'This is it. I am going on this date. If only someone was here to tell me what I should do..........' I waited patiently for any response from Chara but...............
~No one came.~
I sighed and, after putting my bag down, nodded my head. I NEED to take a part in this. It would be horrible on my part to not go on a date with Papyrus.
¨OKAY!!! DATING START!!!¨ Oh boy.
