Blue Attacks!!

¨Icecap struts into view~¨

This is the second monster I have encountered. Personally, it looks like an icy snowman with a unicorn horn nose, a body too small for its head, and the most majestic hat I have ever seen! I decided to Check the Icecap, in order to strategize the best way to spare him. He seemed powerful in attacks yet weaker in defense, and, for some reason, it says he wonders why he isn't called ¨Ice Hat¨. I don't why anyone would want to be called that but, if the Icecap wants to wonder that, it is none of my business.

¨I just looove my hat, OK?¨ he said, firing clusters of sharp icicles my way. I, quickly, rolled out of the way and looked up only to meet face-to-face with another cluster of icicles. The sharp pieces of ice scraped my left cheek and one punctured my shoulder. I screeched in pain as I cradled my shoulder; my whole body lying on my side. The icicle felt like it was burning against my skin and the crimson liquid from my body started bubbling out of the wound. I hissed as I gently touched the icicle through my shoulder. Salty tears poured down my cheeks and fell onto the soft snow.

But, despite my condition, I forced my body to stand up. 'I am not going to give up. I'll make it out alive....... I HAVE to.' I encouraged myself. I decided to compliment the Icecap so that I could spare him quickly and get myself something to patch up my wound. ¨I-I like your hat.¨ I told the monster, smiling the best I can.

¨Envious? TOO BAD!¨ Icecap responded, sending a wave of icicles towards me. I saw the empty path that the wave made and decided to follow it carefully but quickly. After the wave, I discovered that complimenting him would just further his ego; resulting him making stronger and more complicated attacks. But, stealing felt morally wrong.......... I mean, come on! Stealing a guy's hat is not cool; especially with how fond Icecap is about his hat. So, the best possible way to spare the ice monster, is to simply ignore him. It is not hard though. His ego might've gotten me pretty annoyed later.

I looked up at the ceiling to accomplish this goal. Icecap seems pretty annoyed by how I tore my eyes away from his hat.

¨HELLO??? My hat's up here.¨ he spoke, loudly. At that, he threw more clusters of icicles at me. Remembering what happened the first time, I was able to dodge the clusters and survive the attack, unharmed. After his third attack, Icecap was sneaking glances at me. 'I guess he's checking if I am still looking at his hat.' I inferred to myself, shrugging it off. It's working! I am making him lose focus! If I continue avoiding contact with his hat, Icecap may allow me to spare him.

'And what if he doesn't genius?' Chara questioned, an annoyed tone echoing in my head.

'It will work.........It has to.' I assured her, looking at a random pine tree. He looked defeated and let out an exasperated sigh.

¨FINE!!! I don't care!!!¨ Icecap yelled, creating another wave of sharp pieces of ice. Like before, I was able to follow the path without hurting myself. Every now and then, my shoulder would sting from the sudden jerky movements I have to make in order to dodge the monster's attacks. But, I looked to see I was able to spare Icecap, so I did. After he left, I let out a few whimpers as I attempted to pull out the icicle. But, because I couldn't handle the pain, I decided to leave it alone and continue on my journey. As I was about to walk out of the area, I took notice of a sentry station just like the one I hid in. 'Well, maybe there is something I could use in there.' I hoped, staggered towards the station.

It was just like the previous station but there was a sign with the words all in capitalization. Not knowing what to do, I willingly read what was on the sign:

YOU OBSERVE THE WELL-CRAFTED SENTRY STATION. WHO COULD HAVE BUILT THIS, YOU PONDER..... I BET IT WAS THAT VERY FAMOUS ROYAL GUARDSMAN! (NOTE: NOT YET A VERY FAMOUS GUARDSMAN.)

I smiled as I finished reading the sign. No doubt that this sign was made by Papyrus. It just sounded like something he would say. I chuckled to myself as I pictured Papyrus holding the wooden plank and contemplating what he should write. For some reason, his behavior was not bothersome and, surprisingly, I found it comforting. Stopping my train of thought, I walked behind the station and bent down to see if there was anything I could use to gain HP. Luckily, someone left a batch of cooked hot dogs under the counter and a note. Before reading the note, I decide to make myself a hot dog to help me gain health. I put the hot dog in a bun and smothered it with ketchup and mustard before gobbling that sucker. I rubbed my stomach in satisfaction and grabbed the note; reading it with a full tummy.

hey, kid. if that is you, i'm glad ya made it this far. knowing you probably ran into some monsters along the way, I decided to give ya a hand and get you some stuff to heal yourself. I got hot dogs under the counter and a first aid kit under the hot dogs.

~Sans

I dove my hands under the hot dog shelf; finding, what Sans promised, the first aid kit. I bit down on my arm and, swiftly, pulled the icicle out of my shoulder; screaming at the pain and the crimson blood oozing rapidly down my arm. I took some alcohol and, with a cotton ball, cleaned the cut to prevent infection. Then, after discarding the blood soaked ball, I took some bandage and wrapped it tightly around my shoulder. I pressed the bandage there, took some medical tape, and placed the tape on top of the loose end. I looked down at my shoulder and felt satisfied with the medical procedure I accomplished. I needed to change my shirt because the one I am wearing has a whole and is soaked with my dry blood. When I was satisfied with the lack of people around, I hid behind the station and took off my shirt.

I sighed as I looked down at my body. You almost see my ribs! I shuddered at my unhealthy body and pulled on a shirt. After fixing myself a little, I popped out of my spot behind the sentry station and walked down the path, my bag swaying on my forearm. To be honest, this place was quiet; if you don't mind the frequent battles with monsters. I made it to another sentry station and began reading a sign that was posted away from the building:

(Absolutely NO MOVING!!!)

'When you encounter the next monster, you need to follow what the sign says.'

'Okay? Why? Is there something I need to worry about?'

'Not really, as long as you listen to me, you won't need to worry about a thing!' Chara chirped. Although listening to her advice sounds like a bad idea, I need to know what I should be careful with when I am down here. So, I, reluctantly, heeded her advice. As I was crossing the station, I stopped when a dog with a black bandanna and dog biscuit in his mouth, came up from the station. He narrowed his eyes and looked around, suspiciously.

¨Did something move? Was it my imagination? I can only see moving things. If something WAS moving........ For example, a human.......... I'll make sure it NEVER moves again!¨ the dog, responded. He walked out of his station and began looking around. I froze and watched carefully as the dog monster began moving around trying to find me. He seemed extremely excited about something moving but I went to CHECK just in case I was wrong. Sure enough, I saw that my prediction is true. It also said his name is Doggo. Speaking of Doggo, he was now in front of me and narrowing his eyes further.

¨Don't move an inch!¨ he exclaimed and, slowly, swung his blue sword at me. I did as I was told and stood still, hoping Chara would tell me to dodge it or something. But, there was no one there. As I braced myself, I felt a wisp of air pass me and the sword moving away. I frowned and scratched my head in confusion. 'Shouldn't I be dead?'

'No. You saw that his sword was blue, right?'

'Yea? So what?'

She let out an exasperated groan and explained, 'If something is blue in a fight, that means you have to stay still in order to survive the attack.' Huh, that's weird. I looked at my options and only found CHECK or PET. Because I already checked Doggo, I decided to pet him. When he was close enough, I petted his head softly and he seemed to be alarmed but happy at the same time. Well, if you were blind, wouldn't you be acting crazy if some unknown person petted you? Exactly.

¨WHAT!!! I'VE BEEN PET!!!¨ Doggo exclaimed, moving his head left and right to find out who did it. I bit my lip and let out a small giggle at how funny he looked. He sliced his blue sword through the air while yelling ¨PAT?¨ and ¨PET?¨. Like Chara advised, I stayed perfectly still while watching Doggo go mad with confusion. I looked at my options and it said that I am able to SPARE Doggo. So, out of mercy for the confused dog, I spared him. After sparing him, he started stuttering to himself, nervously.

¨S-S-S-Something pet me............ Something that isn't m-m-moving......... I'm gonna need some dog treats for this!!!¨ He told himself and went back to his station, crawling under the counter, slowly. Because Doggo has been through a lot, I decided to walk past his station without bothering him. On the side of the path, I found burnt dog treats. 'Hmmmm? Why are those dog treats burnt?'

'Doggo smokes dog treats.' Chara said, matter-of-factly. Wow, I didn't know dogs could smoke. I mean, I know dogs could get sick from second-hand smoking. But, a dog smoking a dog treat? I shook my head from the strange thought and continued to follow the path. 'What will this journey bring me?'
