#5 : Emily

Taylor was currently sitting and waiting in the living room of the Styles' family residence. Occasionally, Taylor would look around at the place. Taylor was sitting alone, waiting for Grandma who said that  she would be preparing food and drinks for Taylor, while Harry, Taylor could only guess where he had gone to.

Shortly thereafter, Grandma appeared carrying a tray of three cups of hot tea and a plate filled with country biscuits. Grandma placed the three cups on the table in front of Taylor. Taylor smiled and said, "Thank you."

"It's my pleasure, beautiful."

Grandma sat next to Taylor. Taylor took a sip of her green tea. After that, Taylor placed the teacup back on the table. A smile appeared on Grandma's lips. Her wrinkly hands began to move and she gently stroked Taylor's head.

"You're very beautiful. You look like Anne when she was young. It turns out, Harry's taste in girls isn't much different from his father, Des." Taylor smiled blushed at Grandma's words.

A moment later, Harry finally appeared in the living room with his hand holding a very cute cat. The cat meowed and Taylor's eyes sparkled. Harry knew very well that Taylor loves cats.

"Taylor, say hi to Fluffy." Harry said as he grabbed one of the cat's paw and waved it in the air, pretending like the cat was waving to Taylor. Taylor chuckled and smiled.

Harry walked over and sat on the empty space beside Taylor. Harry placed the cat named Fluffy on his lap. Taylor paid all of her attention to the cat. Taylor's hand gently stroked Fluffy's soft fur. Grandma smiled. Taylor was the very first girl Harry brought here and introduced to her, and to be honest Grandma still couldn't believe that the very first girl that Harry will bring home will immediately become his wife.

"Do you like cats, Taylor?" Grandma asked when Taylor was engrossed in playing with her cat. Meanwhile, Harry only stared at the look on Taylor's face.

Taylor turned to Grandma and smiled. Taylor nodded her head. "Yes, I love cats. I actually have two cats back in my hometown in Nashville. Their names are Meredith and Olivia." Taylor said cheerfully. Grandma nodded and smiled.

"If that's the case, you're really the perfect match for Harry. For a long time, all he did was play with cats. Although, not anymore."

"Grandma, can I take Fluffy back home to London? Looks like Taylor really needs a friend while I'm in the office." Harry, who had been initially quiet suddenly spoke up.

Taylor widened her eyes and a smile appeared on her lips. Taylor looked at Harry with a look as if she was saying 'thank you' and Harry winked at his wife.

"Of course you can. After all, we have three cats here and no one looks after them besides Gemma. Gemma also can't always care for the three cats." Taylor's smile widened to hear Grandma's words.

Taylor's hand has reached for Fluffy gently. Taylor put Fluffy on her lap. Fluffy rubbed her head on Taylor's knee making Taylor slightly chuckle while continuing to gently stroke the white cat.

Grandma bid goodbye to Harry and Taylor to return to her room, leaving Harry and Taylor all alone in the living room, with Taylor still engrossed in stroking the soft fur of the cat.

"This cat reminds me of my cat Olivia, but Fluffy is a bit bigger. It also reminds me a bit of the Cheshire cat in Alice and The Wonderland." Taylor said her hand still gently stroking the cat. Harry smiled thinly.

"I took care of Fluffy since he was born. And well, he's apparently almost five years old."

"You never told me that you raised cats. You just said you liked cats." Taylor turned her attention to Harry. Harry chuckled and wrapped his arm around Taylor's shoulder.

"It slipped out of my mind. It's been a long time since I've been to Cheshire and this is also the first time in a few years that I get to see Fluffly again."

"What kind of breed is this, Harry?" Taylor asked.

"British short hair." Harry answered.

When they were just about to dive in into a deeper conversation about cats, Harry and Taylor's attention was suddenly diverted when they heard a voice from the entrance.

"Hey, Harry."

John Styles greeted, he had his arms wrapped around a woman's waist, which Taylor guessed was his wife. John and his wife's eyes were on Harry and Taylor. Harry took a deep breath and slowly sighed.

"Hey." Harry greeted back lazily. Taylor just kept silent, not knowing what to say. Taylor clearly knew that Harry and his uncle are never in good terms.

"Hey, you're the new member of the Styles family, aren't you? You must be Taylor Styles." John greeted Taylor. Taylor smiled awkwardly at John.

John walked over to Harry and Taylor, his wife following him closely behind. The middle-aged man sat and faced Harry and Taylor. His wife sat next to him, apparently she wasn't willing to leave her husband's side even for just a second.

"When did you guys arrived at Cheshire?" John asked.

"An hour ago." Harry answered.

Harry's hands were playing and rubbing on Taylor's bare shoulders. And yes, Taylor is wearing a sleeveless dress, so Harry could touch her bare shoulder freely without the cloth being in the way.

"Why didn't you called me at all? I could've at least asked Adam to pick you up at the airport." John said, almost in a bright tone. Harry raised a brow.

"No, thanks. I didn't come here by plane. I drive my own car." Harry said coldly. John smiled meaninglessly.

"I understand. You always do that, right? " John laughed indistinctly for a while, the others just silent. John stopped laughing and looked back at Harry sharply.

"Ah, yes, and did Emily come to apply for a job at the office?" John asked. Harry's eyes narrowed at John's question, while Taylor just lowered her head, already feeling comfortable in the situation she was stuck in.

"Did you know what was Emily's condition before she came to your office, Harry? She was poor. In the old company she was working for, she was often almost harassed by her boss. That's the reason why she left the company. And when I remembered that there's a vacant position for applying for being a personal assistant, I told her that she could apply." This time, John's wife, Marge, spoke up. Harry took a deep breath and let out a slow sigh.

"Yes I know. She works at Styles Enterprise now. "

"You must be spending your time with Emily right now, right? I mean, you haven't seen her for almost a decade since you moved to London. Maybe now, the way you look at Emily will change. Emily, who was a rough tomboy turned into a very elegant girl." Marge said again.

Taylor slightly bit her inner cheek when she heard Marge's words. Taylor's hand continued to stroke Fluffy's soft fur, trying to think positively. Harry never told Taylor the details about the employee who had replaced her position at Styles Enterprise. Harry looked at Marge with a sharp look.

Marge smiled thinly at Harry before returning to say, "I can't believe you've grown this big, Harry. I even remember clearly that in the past that, you, Emily and Adam often played in the backyard garden. Adam once cried just because he saw you and Emily kissing behind a tree, and I remembered that you were ten years old." John laughed at his wife's story.

Harry's hands actually clenched and formed into a fist when he heard Marge's story, while Taylor remained silent, still with her head bowed and her hands constantly stroking Fluffy's fur. Harry took a deep breath before taking Taylor's hand and holding it tightly.

"Looks like I'll be showing Taylor around in Cheshire. Thanks for meeting us." Harry got to his feet, and so did Taylor. Taylor's free hand carried Fluffy.

Harry gripped Taylor's free hand and led Taylor away from his annoying uncle and aunt.

Harry stopped in the back porch of his grandmother's residence. Harry gently pushed Taylor so that her back touched the pillar of the big house. Taylor had only been paying attention to Fluffy for the whole time when they were in the living room. Harry didn't know what was going on in Taylor's mind, but Harry clearly knew that he really had to explain everything.

"Tay, listen to me. Everything that John and his wife said is–"

Before Harry had the chance to continue on what he was about to say, Harry froze from his spot and he stayed silent when something moist touched his lips gently. Taylor kissed Harry for a few seconds before pulling away. Taylor gave Harry a sincere smile.

"Harry, I honestly don't care about the their stories about your past. What's clear is, we're in the present and some time in the future, you'll always be with me. That's the most important thing."

Harry sighed in relief and smiled. Harry's burly hands gently stroke Taylor's blonde hair, before he gives a brief kiss on Taylor's cheek.

"I'm so lucky that I got to know you. I know you're tired of hearing that but, I really love you, Taylor Styles."

Taylor smiled and said back, "I love you too, Harry Swift." Harry chuckled at Taylor's words. Harry Swift? That actually sounds strange and doesn't suit Harry's name at all.

"That actually sounds strange." Harry commented as Taylor giggled.

"Yes, it is. You really aren't fit to join the Swift family." Harry grinned before embracing Taylor.

"I don't need to join the Swift family because I already have the best Swift in the world. Oh, I'm sorry, I was supposed to say former Swift, because her last name changed and she became a part of the Styles now." Taylor laughed at Harry's remark and placed a kiss of his cheek.
