#23 : Down

The next morning, it was just the same just like yesterday. Harry didn't found Taylor anywhere when he woke up from a very deep sleep. Like yesterday, Harry decided to take a quick shower first before looking for her. Harry doesn't know whether he has to go to the office right now or not. But he feels like now is not the right time for him to go to the office, and he was also lazy to go to work anyways.

Normally, Taylor would encourage Harry, but this time it was different. Taylor is still very angry at him, without a doubt. In fact, Harry still remembers the cold gaze that Taylor gave him yesterday. It was a look full of hatred and anger, but Harry could still see a glimmer of hope and love in Taylor's blue eyes. He that just gives him the idea that he still has a chance with her.

Harry walked out of the room, and walked down the stairs and stopped in the middle of the room. Harry actually wanted to walk into the kitchen for breakfast, but Grandma and Anne immediately stopped him and blocked Harry's steps, which was a surprise to Harry. And Harry knows that Grandma was still very angry at him.

"Explain to us." Anne immediately asked straightforwardly, folding her arms in front of her chest. Anne and Grandma stared intently at Harry who didn't understand what the two women were talking about.

"Explain what? I don't understand you. Have you seen Taylor?" Harry asked, glancing around, hoping to find his wife. Anne snorted.

"Harry, answer my question first! Explain everything to us that you've kept a secret!" Anne remanded, Harry sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't understand your question, Mum. I have no idea what you're talking about."

"This is about Taylor. Your wife is pregnant and you didn't even bothered telling us?!" Anne shook her head in disappointment while Harry frowned.

"Wait, how did you find out? Did Taylor told you?" Harry asked as Anne shook her head.

"Taylor is just as stubborn as you. She didn't say a word to us. Adam told us." Harry's eyes widened when he heard his mother say his cousin's name. Harry's hands formed and clenched into fists.

"Adam?"

"Yes. He told us everything." Grandma chuckled before adding, "I'm quite disappointed that you kept a lot of things from us, Harry. Taylor is pregnant and you've known that for a long time, and you had the guts to cheat on her, especially when she's carrying a child! Don't you have any idea on know how that will affect her and her child if she wasn't a strong person to handle your bullshit?" Grandma asked sarcastically, and Harry had never encountered his own grandmother using such vulgar words, but Harry couldn't think about that right now as he lowered his head instead.

"I'm sorry, please forgive me."

"So that's what you're only going to say? To say that you're sorry?" Grandma said as she added a huff at the end before continuing her lecture, "I don't know how you raise and lecture your children, Anne. How can the two of your children give me a headache already? And it's early in the morning." Grandma quipped at Anne before leaving to go to her room just like that, leaving Anne and Harry, just the two of them.

Anne took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Anne stood on tiptoes and put her arm around her son, leading him to sit on the couch in the room.

"What breakfast do you want, Harry? I'll ask the waiter to make it." Anne said as Harry shook his head.

"I'm not hungry, Mum." Anne stared softly at Harry. Anne knew very well how her son was feeling right now.

In the past, Anne had experienced the same thing. She was always blamed for whatever she did, and the feeling was horrible. It was like there was no other reason to live. But once Anne met Des, he was The Who always supported her.

Whereas now? Harry made a fatal mistake on someone who was supposed to be a loyal supporter. It was a different case and scenario. Anne was sad to remember everything. Was this karma coming after for Anne after she mistreated Taylor at first? Anne stroked Harry's shoulder gently.

"Don't worry. Taylor goes with Adam, they're running at morning together."

Harry let out a disappointed sigh. Anne understood how Harry felt. Harry is very possessive and he was the jealous kind. Surely, Harry was now imagining about what Adam and Taylor could be doing right now at this very moment.

"Harry, learn to believe and trust in Adam. Adam is a good man. You once forced me to adopt him as my own child so that he could be your brother at first. Do you even remember that?" Harry said nothing about Anne's words. Harry doesn't want to believe and trust in Adam, and he won't be trusting him anytime soon.

"Taylor will be safe with Adam. Adam will definitely take good care of her." Harry paused for a moment.

His mother was right. Taylor is certainly safer when she's with Adam. And at that very moment, Harry doubted at himself and wondered if he was still the best husband for Taylor.

━━

Harry hadn't gone to work for nearly a week. He spent his days at home. Daydreaming and he didn't looked too different from Gemma a few months ago. Harry looks very depressed and stressed.

This afternoon, Harry sat by the pool, dipping his legs in the cold water, staring straight ahead blankly. Harry hasn't got a clue when the regret will disappear from his mind. For almost a week, Taylor completely avoided him. Taylor spent more time with Adam than with Harry. In fact, Harry felt that Adam was slowly starting to take over his life. Adam almost had everything now, the Styles Enterprise was under his management, the Styles family liked him better than Harry, and Taylor hangs out with him more often. Harry feels like his life was slowly crumbling down.

"Harry,"

Harry paused at the sound of someone's voice. It was someone's voice who Harry despised the most. Harry heard footsteps walking towards his direction, and before he knew it, Adam already took a seat next to him, dipping his legs into the pool water.

"Hey there, big boy. What are you doing here all by yourself?" Adam asked. Harry kept silent and didn't bothered to reply.

"You look like shit," Adam commented, glancing slightly at Harry as he chuckled. Harry ignored him again. Adam inhaled and sighed slowly,

Over time, Adam hated seeing Harry being like this. Harry wasn't living his life like he used to. Even though his relationship with Harry isn't on best terms, he's still concerned for him.

"Until when will you be like this?" Adam shifted in his seat, scooting closer to Harry.

For the first time, Harry spoke up and replied to him, "Don't interfere with my goddamn life." Adam smiled sardonically.

"It's actually too late for you to say that. I've already interfered with your life, Harry, and it's turning out completely well, to be honest." Harry fell silent again.

Adam racked his brain, trying to provoke so that Harry would respond to every word he said. "I'm happy when I finally got to experience on what it feels like to be the CEO of Styles Enterprise, with a beautiful woman who greets me every morning. I got everything you ever had. Good God, Harry, it feels so good to be in your position."

Harry turned cynically at Adam. "What do you mean by that?" Adam chuckled.

"No. I'm just saying that, what if everyone slowly starts to think about who truly deserves to be the CEO of Styles Enterprise, would it be me or you?" Adam stood up with a sinister smile on his lips. Harry's sharp gaze did not look one bit. Adam shrugged.

"Maybe I'll also show Taylor who's far more suitable to be her husband, would she pick me or you?"

At that moment, a flash appeared in Harry's eyes. With an unexpected speed, Harry rose to his feet and gave Adam a punch without showing any mercy.

Adam might've died if Anne, John and Marge didn't pull Harry away from Adam. John held Harry's arms, while Marge and Anne immediately pulled Adam away from Harry. Grandma stood not far from them, staring with concern etched in her wrinkled face. Harry only stopped struggling from John's grip when Anne slapped his cheek, making Harry gasp at his mother's actions.

"That's enough, Harry! If you hit Adam again, I won't see and consider you as my child again!" Hearing his mother's words, Harry went limp.

At that moment, John released Harry. Anne and Marge helped Adam's body to get up and they entered the house. Grandma followed from behind. Leaving John and Harry there, just the two of them.

"You're just as annoying and horrible as Des." John said before leaving Harry alone. Harry closed his eyes and pulled his own hair in annoyance and anger.

"I'm always doing everything wrong! Fine, go ahead, keep blaming me! Why don't you just kill me already?!" Harry said hysterically, feeling like he couldn't stand all the pressure he was getting.

Harry closed his eyes and tears escaped from his eyes again. Harry didn't know why he was crying so easily in the past week, it's like he could cry at any moment.

Harry bowed his head and sat down on the edge of the pool again. Looking blankly towards the surface of the pool which is quite calm. He was looking at the reflection of his face that was reflected on the surface of the pool. Harry closed his eyes briefly, but when he opened his eyes, he didn't only saw his own reflection on the pool water, he saw a reflection of a beautiful young lady who always managed to take his breath away.

Harry turned around and found Taylor standing right behind him, with her arms folded in front of her chest. Taylor's gaze still looked icy and emotionless, just like the past few days. Harry sighed and looked back at the surface of the pool.

"Stop crying. You don't deserve to cry or act this way after what you did. . . after you cheated." Taylor taunts.

Harry nodded. "I know, and I'm sorry. What I did to you, to my family and to our baby was so wrong. And I'm well aware that I messed up big time. I don't deserve your love after what I did, after I hurt you. But I. . . I need you, Taylor. As selfish as it sounds, I can't see myself living without you and our child by my side. I haven't been acting like a proper husband, I just realized that, and I'm sorry. But i-if you can give me another chance, Taylor, I'll prove myself to you and to our baby that I can be responsible. I can make things right if you can give me a second chance, Taylor, please."

"I wanted to talk to you about this." Taylor said. Harry turned back to look at his wife.

Harry raised an eyebrow and he felt a smile appeared on his lips. Harry got to his feet and wiped his face that was stained with tears. Taylor could see how Harry's face immediately lightened up when she said she wanted to talk to him. It was almost like nothing had happened a while ago. And when Taylor saw the smile on Harry's lips, a smile of her own formed one too.

"Are you no longer angry with me?" Harry asked, very enthusiastically.

Taylor removed the smile on her lips and tried to put on an emotionless face again. Taylor shook her head.

"I did some thinking, and I thought hard about it. And Harry, I'm forgiving you, and I've realized that even though how much hurt and pain you've put me through from this past week, it doesn't really compare how much affection and care you've given me throughout my whole life. But I won't forget everything." Harry's happy expression vanished instantly. Taylor held her breath and exhaled slowly.

"But I honestly can't be angry with you for too long. And like I said, I've thought about it so. . . well, yeah, maybe I'll try to forget it, it'll take time but I'll try." A smile reappeared on Harry's lips.

Harry quickly hugged Taylor tightly. Taylor was little surprised at the sudden hug, but she slowly hugged Harry back. Taylor really missed this kind of warmth from him.

"I promise, I'll even swear at the church later if you'd like, I won't do that again. I won't make you disappointed anymore. I swear on my whole goddamn life." Taylor nodded at Harry's words.

"You don't have to do that, I believe you." Taylor chucked.

They pulled away from each other's hug. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before finally, Taylor repeated her words, "We have to talk, it's something important. But not here." Harry raised an eyebrow.

"Why?" Harry asked curiously.

Taylor looked around before sighing. "We'll be meeting at Starbucks in twenty minutes." Taylor said as Harry increasingly didn't understand what she meant.

"Meeting at Starbucks? With who? Why don't we go together?" Taylor shook her head.

"You can't. See you, Harry," Taylor briefly kissed Harry's cheek before turning around and walking into the house.

Harry still didn't understand what Taylor was saying or what she meant, but nevertheless, a sweet smile appeared on his lips, and it was because he finally got Taylor back again, and that was all he ever needed.
