One Year Anniversary Prompt

If there is one thing you should know about Yuga Aoyama, it is that you had better believe he is a fashion god. It shouldn't really take much for me to convince you of it, either.

You see, I was doubtful of this fact as well, once upon a time. I mean, come on. The man wears a cape and shoots a beam of sparkly light out of his bellybutton. Sorry if that seemed a little sketchy to me.

Anyways, me ranting about the him is not what we are here to talk about today. What we are here to talk about right now is a little story from Izuku Midoriyas time as a villain back when he wasn't living with Todoroki quite yet. It all began, as I am aware, with what is best described as a reconnaissance mission.

Midoriya was sent to gather intel on another group of villains that owed Izukus boss quite a large sum of money. They had apparently been occupying a shady part of town in Musutafu and were exploiting people who needed money to provide for their families. The group was called the Villain Squad ( I know, how creative.) and they had been giving out loans to families in need and then not giving them enough time to pay of their debt before they started demanding re-compensation. Izuku's boss didn't really care about the people being harmed by this issue, he was just ticked that the villains were using his money and not sharing what they had earned.

According to Izuku's directions, he was supposed to be headed to an abandoned warehouse. Pretty typical, in all honesty. Why do all villains live in abandoned warehouses? Is it just a things for them? To this day, I still don't know the answer. Please let me know if you ever find out.

Anyways, Midoriya was going to an abandoned warehouse. It looked like every other abandoned warehouse: pretty boring. The windows were broken and boarded, the walls were crumbling in some areas, and it was covered in cobwebs.

I don't know if you know this, but cobwebs are the absolute worst. At one moment, you think there might be a spider and you're all freaked out, because spiders are gross. And so there you are, freaking out, all control over your quirk gone, and the next thing you know, you realize: THERE. IS. NO. SPIDER.

Is it not me or is that just cruel?

Luckily for Midoriya, he was not afraid of spiders. Lucky bastard. (Not really, but I'm sure you're aware of my meaning.)

(Being kidnapped and forced to be a villain to save your country isn't really that lucky, but I suppose we all have bad days.)

Izuku was not dressed in his typical villain costume that consisted of a white shirt, black vest, green tie, black slacks, and some rather elegant looking black pointed shoes. It's a shame really, because although that outfit was designed for evil, it looked quite good on Izuku. Everything was tailored perfectly, and boy did he make that outfit work. Not that I thought it was attractive or anything.

Moving on.

My point is, for this particular mission Izuku had to dress in a costume that would be more covert and keep him hidden better. That was why when Aoyama found Izuku, not only was the sparkly hero blissfully unaware of who he was talking to, but he was also rather repulsed at the poor villains style of dress.

Izuku carefully approached his destination, making sure that his dark hoodie was secure over his head and would not reveal his shock of green hair. It would have been a pain if anyone had seen his hair considering that green was Deku's whole thing. Green hair, green eyes, green tie, green lightning when using One for All; the green was literally everywhere.

Some of you may have some questions for me regarding Midoriya's quirk. Maybe you are curious as to why he doesn't use the one he was given as a child. I would tell you if I could, trust me. However, this is a prompt and not connected to the main story. Anything I write here may not be seen by those who only wish to read the main story. Therefore, I cannot tell you.

Oh, well.

The inside of the building was dark, signifying to Midoriya that nobody had arrived yet. This was good. It meant that he had time to find a spot to hide without worrying about being spotted or making noise.

Izuku pried away the rusty sheet of metal that was being used to hide the entrance and winced at the shriek it made in protest. Once it was free, he stepped inside the dark and dusty building, his footsteps echoing gently against the cracked concrete floor. After a quick scan of the building, Izuku decided the best place to hide would be the old catwalk on the ceiling. It was old, so his presence would not be expected, yet it appeared to still be structurally sound. Plus, there was the added benefit of a higher vantage point should something go wrong.

The green haired boy placed the sheet of metal back over the entrance carefully before proceeding onto the catwalk above. He stepped onto the ladder and began to climb. He had to be extremely gentle thanks to the large amount of rust covering the stairs, but he had made it eventually. Finally, covered in cobwebs and slightly shivering thanks to the cold, Izuku settled himself into position.

Now all he had to do was wait.

••••••••••••••••••••
An hour slowly shifted into two hours when Izuku began to worry. Had he entered the wrong abandoned warehouse? Did the villains change their location? Was this a trap?

Izuku silently deliberated, puzzled as to why the other villains had not yet arrived.

As I'm sure you are aware, when Midoriya's attention is directed elsewhere, he tends to be. . . oblivious, for lack of a better word. This is why, when Aoyamas grand entrance was made, he was dismayed to realize that nobody was paying attention.

As Izuku sat in a crouched position on corroded metal of the catwalk, there was a noise.

At first the noise was quiet, but slowly and surely the noise got louder and louder. It was a strange kind of buzzing noise. At first, the sound could have easily been mistaken as a mosquito, but as the sound got louder, it started to sound suspiciously sparkly.

Eventually, the sound had gotten so loud the walls began to vibrate. Then the walls began to crumble. And then, they broke.

Then there was light.

There stood Aoyama in all of his fashionable sparkling glory. His cape waved in the wind delicately and his glasses seemed to glitter with genius.

At least, that's how Aoyama described it to me.

Izuku never noticed the poor guy even come in.

"Why hello there! Mon ami, what are you doing in this side of town?" Even Aoyamas voice was sparkly. Seriously, what is up with that?

Izuku did not respond. He was still immersed in his thoughts.

"Mon ami? Goodness gracious, your outfit is simply hideous. Please tell me you don't go outside like that. You're literally putting me in physical pain right now, that's how bad your fashion is."

Silence.

"My, my, how rude you are as well~ Don't you know that I am a distinguished hero who should be respected?"

Aoyama was beginning to feel slightly offended. Who did this kid think he was? He wasn't even a Pro Hero or hero in training. What right did this guy have to ignore the hero Can't Stop Twinkling?

"Who are you anyways? You don't look like any hero I know. Are you a civilian? No, you look too suspicious. A villain?" Aoyama continued speaking, despite the fact that he was being ignored, albeit accidentally. "That's not possible. You don't look that suspicious, and besides, you are a kid. Villains aren't kids. Hmm, are you a vigilante, perhaps? A wannabe hero, hmm, that seems likely."'

That got the young villain's attention.

Something that struck me about this conversation while it was being relayed back to me was that how much Aoyama got right in that sentence, as well as everything he got wrong.

He could easily see how desperately Midoriya wanted to be a villain. It couldn't have been obvious. Midoriya was a very quick learner and during the time of his capture he had to learn how to conceal his emotions very well. He was very, very good at it.

How could Aoyama easily detect that Izukus dream was to become a hero when?

Also how did he just blatantly disregard the fact that Midoriya was a villain?

It would have been very obvious, if you had been there. Midoriya had been in a remote location at a meet spot for villains while dressed in the shadiest outfit anyone could find.

Either Aoyama is an idiot, or he is a genius. Those are the only two options that explain what he had said.

I heard a theory from on of my colleagues that struck me as rather intriguing. This particular acquaintance of mine believes that Aoyama was not judging Midoriya based on his appearance, but on his soul. I know it sounds far-fetched, but please bare with me.

Izuku wanted desperately to be a hero, we all know this. Izuku never wanted to be a villain, ever. It was not something that interested him in the slightest. If anything, the idea of villain hood repulsed the young teenager.

Personally, I do not put much faith into the idea of spirituality and faith, but this idea did strike a chord with me. What if Aoyama was actually looking into Izukus soul? What if Aoyama actually has the ability to know who a person is inside? Maybe he could even know them more than they know themselves? The idea is both terrifying and breathtaking.

Izuku did not actually compute all of this, surprisingly enough. Granted, I do have more resources than he did at that particular moment and I have had many years to ponder the conversation. Izuku had none of these tools, so in the moment, Aoyama did not appear to the green eyed teen as a genius. He seemed more . . . oblivious.

"Sorry, who are you?"

"Why I'm the hero Can't Stop Twinkling, of course! But that's not important right now."

Ah, here we go, Midoriya thought, Time for the civilians shouldn't be in dangerous places lecture.

Aoyama continued. "Your costume is simply horrendous, mon ami!"

Wait, what?

"I mean, come on! All black? How cliche is that? It's like your begging to be made fun of! You'll never become a pro hero with an outfit like that! Luckily, you have me to help you!"

Izuku's mouth feel open. "Umm. . ."

"Okay, so, first things first, we need to lose the mask. And the hoodie. Also, those pants are simply ugly, mon ami. You know what? Let's just get rid of the whole outfit. We'll start over from scratch!"

"Don't you have, like, villains to catch, or something?" The villain asked in astonishment.

"Eh, that can wait. This is more important! So I was thinking glitter, lots of it, something that will make your eyes pop! you know? That black really isn't doing you any favors. And maybe you should get a cape, like me! Then we'd be matching! Wouldn't that be splendid?"

That was when they heard it.

From outside there was the sound of a chorus of voices

"Ah, it appears our company has arrived." A smiled took up Aoyama's face.

It took some time, but eventually 30 gruff looking people arrived and entered the crumbling warehouse. They all appeared to be disgruntled and rather dirty. They were covered in debris and, in case you were curious, spitting words that would make Bakugou proud.

"Get ready for a show." Aoyama winked at Izuku then leaped down into the middle of the fray.

The fight was an interesting one, to be sure. The villains were aware of the young hero as soon as he hit the ground. They all took their battle positions, ready to fight the teen who had just encroached on their territory.

"Why hello there! My name is Can't Stop Twinkling, wonderful to meet you fellows. Me and my friend with the horrible fashion sense up there are here to prevent you from committing your heinous acts, but please, pretend we are not here! I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable!" And with that, the villain closest to Aoyama pounced.

Aoyama twisted to face the buff woman and with a serene sense of calm, the teen blasted a glittery beam right in her face.

The woman was surprised to say the least, and was easily overcome with a kick to her abdomen. Once the other villains saw one of their own was down, they began to attack in unison. Aoyama appeared as nothing more than a blur for how fast he moved. It was almost like he was dancing a volatile dance. His limbs gracefully incapacitated his enemies while using his glittery beam of destruction whenever someone got to close for comfort. It was almost calming in a way.

Izuku watched, fascinated by the developments taking place down below. He didn't feel the need to go down and help the French hero since he seemed to be handling the situation quite well, so the green haired boy simply watched instead.

The battle was over in twenty minutes.

With a satisfied smile, Aoyama climbed back up the catwalk so he could continue to speak with the young vigilante he met earlier. He wanted to ask whether or not the shorter teen preferred shiny material to glittery fabric. Unfortunately, Aoyama noticed something rather strange upon his arrival to the top of the ladder.

The young vigilante was nowhere to be seen.

"Mon ami? Where did you go?" The young hero called out in confusion. "Mon ami? We haven't discussed your outfit enough! How are we going to match if you are going to simply leave me here on my own? Mon ami?"

Outside of the warehouse, on the streets of the city, a young teen in an ugly hoodie was walking. The streetlights lit the young boy's way with a yellow glow as he thought to himself.

Well, at least he seems to be doing well.

And with that the young teen laughed as he hadn't in a long time. His face tilted towards the sky as his stomach muscles ached because of their lack of use. Then teen laughed for so hard that he had to lean against a lamp post in order to support himself. Tears streamed out of the boy's bright green eyes as he smiled brightly. It was one of the best smiles he had had for a long time.

"Seriously, what's even the difference between shiny material and glittery fabric?" He gasped as his laughter rang throughout the street, bouncing off of the various walls that resided there.

Once his laughter had ended, he continued walking. Dread filled his gut, because the young boy knew the place he was walking to was not home. No, my dear readers, I'm sorry to say that the place the boy was walking to was much, much worse.

Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! This was a prompt suggested to me by Mad-Rabbit, who I would like to thank so much for giving me this idea! I had so much fun writing this! It was nice to have a chapter dedicated to Aoyama.

My question for this prompt is this:

Q: Who is your favorite hero?

(They don't have to be from BNHA)
