     gemma is genuinely just a nice person. she loves making friends and she will literally talk to anyone, she doesn't care who. she is the kind of person to comfort a stranger in the middle of the park, or talk to a random person while waiting in line at the super market. she tries to make everyone around her comfortable and happy. gemma loves to laugh and to make other people laugh. she is a pretty funny person even if she doesn't realize it. she has gotten a lot better over the years, but she still has a really hard time seeing herself in a positive light. she can be a bit self deprecating, even when she has absolutely no reason to be. she definitely speaks her mind when she is speaking about something important, but she often gets nervous when she has to deal with confrontation. especially with adults. she will sometimes cry when talking to adults when advocating for herself, and it's not because she is upset, it's only because she has to deal with confrontation and tell someone else they are wrong. she is a really smart girl and she is usually right, but she doesn't share her opinions or take initiative until everyone else is stumped. people are often left wondering why she didn't just say something in the first place. but overall she is a really likable and cute person.

backstory ═ ∘♡༉∘ ═
     gemma marie amherst was born on december 24th. she doesn't know who her birth mother is, as she was left at a fire station when she was 5 days old. she was put into the adoption system, and was adopted 2 months later on february 18th to two women, lorelei and teegan amherst. both women are in acting, lorelei being a stage actress and teegan being a screen director. gemma grew up around acting and loving parents, but she never really got into acting. her main passion is cooking, specifically baking. she loved to bake things with her mothers, and would try new recipes every week. it became her passion at a young age.
     gemma had a lot of trouble in school when she first started. when she was 8 years old she was diagnosed with dyscalculia, which is a difficulty in understanding numbers, learning how to manipulate numbers, performing mathematical calculations and learning facts in mathematics. so math had never been her strong suit. she thrives in english, though, and she slowly began to love writing along with baking. she likes to write contemporary fantasy and romance short stories. she struggled with her weight and body image a lot when she was in middle school, and while she was never really bullied for it all that much, it was always something on her mind. her parents were both really supportive so she always had a positive way to get out her emotions. but when high school came around she decided to start working out. she was never the ideal body stereotype, but now she is a lot more comfortable in her own skin.

     - she used to write stories on wattpad but now she uses a notebook and her phone's notes
     - she loves fashion and coming up with cool outfits to wear
     - she probably has 50 different bathing suits that all give her different tan lines, but she rarely wears any of them in canada
     - her bedroom is filled with a wall of pictures of all her friends in canada
     - she has a really cute giggle laugh
     - she is currently still dating her girlfriend from canada, and they are trying their hardest to make long distance work ( @ bagayla )
