☾they propose [KRIST]
Krist, being the smart and straight forward man he was, planned his proposal to you with great care before actually going through with the event. He had gone to many different jewelers, searching for the perfect ring that fit your personality. When he finally did come across the one, he purchased it and set his plan into motion.
On the night of your year and a half anniversary, Krist announced to you that he was cooking dinner to honor the date. You'd wrinkled your nose as confusion crossed your face.
"Our anniversary was six months ago, Krist," you reminded him.
He smiled and smoothed back your hair, kissing your forehead lovingly. "I know that. But today marks another six months of you putting up with me, so I thought why not celebrate?"
You tilted your head up at him and rolled your eyes. "I think it's the other way around," you joked. Krist patted your head and retreated to the kitchen, where he began to cook dinner. He was adamant that you relax on the couch and not help him, which was a hard request for you to obey. You and Krist always cooked together.
Once he was done and had set the dining room table up, he allowed you to finally enter the small kitchen, where a full feast awaited you. "How come you weren't a chef instead of a bass player?" you mused.
"What you don't know is that I actually am a chef. Bass playing is just my side gig," Krist jested. You laughed, always appreciative of Krist's dry humor.
After you'd both finished eating, a timid expression showed itself on Krist's face as he pushed his plate away. He twiddled his thumbs briefly before reaching under the table and producing a gift bag.
"Oh no," you said, horrified. "Please tell me you didn't get me something." It would be just your luck that Krist had sweetly gone out of his way to buy you something for an anniversary date you hadn't even thought of only just an hour beforehand.
"It's nothing," he laughed, nudging the bag your way. "Go on, open it."
You did as told, reaching into the bag and producing a leather bound book that had artistic spirals carved into the spine. When you flipped it over, you realized with surprise that it was a photo album. A picture of you and Krist framed the center of the cover.
"Go through it," Krist encouraged, smiling shyly. You smiled back, opening the page and laughing at what you saw. It was Krist, looking sheepishly into the camera while wedged between you and Kurt. Kurt's middle finger was up, as per usual, but you had opted to pose with bunny ears behind Krist's head.
"Oh my god," you laughed, throwing your head back at the memory of that particular day. Everyone had gotten drunk and played air guitar. How could you forget?
"Don't stop just yet," Krist insisted. So you continued to flip through, finding it hard not to pause and reminisce on each picture that was in the book. There were shots of you cuddled against his tall frame, smiling softly. Some were more funny, like the time Krist had slung his bass around you for you to play. Others were intimate, images you and Krist had captured in privacy with one another.
With every other page, you'd stop and look at Krist, thanking him profusely. You were unable to believe how lucky you were, having a man as thoughtful as him gift you something so sweet.
As you reached the tail end of the book, you flipped to the last page and were suddenly taken aback. It was a Polaroid picture of a ring. A wedding ring, to be exact.
When you looked up, Krist had the ring punched between his thumb and pointer finger and was holding it out to you. You gasped, dropping the book.
"It's not exactly much," Krist began, "but it all feels right regardless. Y/n, I don't know how else to put it other than saying you are my best friend. You're the piece of me that I didn't even realize was missing and it hasn't taken me very long to come to terms with the fact that my life will be boring as hell without you in it forever. So would you marry me?"
You couldn't help it— you laughed, tears streaming down your face as you covered your mouth in utter shock. More laughter rocked your body. Krist wanted to marry you. You. Love and joy filled your heart to the very brim.
"Yes Krist," you said, leaning across the table to kiss the man who you could now call your fiancé.
