Chapter Eight
Never in my life have I been so tired. It's Seven in the morning and I'm braiding Nirvanas hair before we leave to go to my brothers wedding. She's sitting on the floor leanings against my legs as I manage to make a some what decent braid in her hair."Done!" I exclaim. Her slugging posture perks up at the sound of my voice."Thank you!" She pleads. She turns around and carefully sits on my lap. She gives a quick kiss on my cheek and leans against my chest tiredly."How come your not in your suit yet?" I blink to get the morning blurriness out of my eyes and reply with,"I won't have to put it on till I get there. I'm going to need your help to tie my tie." I boop the tip of her nose which makes her smile. I fix the frames on my glasses, and pick up my phone that starts ringing."Hey, get your butt out here before we're late." I reply with a 'oh shit' and quickly and hang up."Nirvana we need to get our shoes on now. Wait, no just grab them and put them on in the car." She gives me a confused look but does as she's told. As she runs out the door with her dress she loves flowing along with her, I grab everything stuff them in my pockets, and quickly leave almost forgetting to lock the door.
When she stands out on the side walk looking lost as ever I grab her hand and show her to the car that my other brother is in. He was all by his self and a little irritated that I took so long. "Jesus Brendon, it took you till Christmas to get here. What took you so long?" I sit in the back seat along with Nirvana and let out a tiring sigh. " It's seven in the morning, and I woke up to your wonderful voice in the morning yelling that you'd be at my house in an hour. I wonder why genius." I say with gritted teeth. Nirvana's slugging posture from putting on her shoes, straightens up as my voice had risen. I think I scared her. She's never heard me raise my voice and I hope she never does again.
This wedding of my brothers isn't very, let's say, calming if you have to stand up and make a speech about embarrassing stories, and or, how lucky you are to see him do something with his life. Especially since you've only known him since you were about ten. Also I've never really liked weddings. I always get asked the same questions over and over again or very awkward ones. I hope those awkward questions don't get passed down to Nirvana. Great, one more thing on my list to worry about. Damn you anxiety.
Two hours later of dozing on and off in the car and my brother almost wrecking his car, we make it. Walking into the room with the suits and brides maid dresses, Nirvana grabs my arm as we lead to the weird make shift dressing rooms. She stands in the corner awkwardly, so I turn to her and say, "Hey, it's just my shirt I'm changing. Besides isn't it socially acceptable for guys to be like that," I quote in a whisper," Then you get to help me tie my tie." She nods and looks down to the ground as I tug on my white t-shirt off my back. " It's fine Nirvana. It's just skin." She looks up a little when I pull the dress shirt on and button up the shirt.
Just as I pick up the tie I hear, " Ten minutes till it starts." I nervously look out the dressing room, watching people leave the room. "What about your dress pants?" I shake my head."These jeans will have to do. Here, we have to quickly put this on me." Placing the tie around my neck, she grabs the two ends and makes the tie look perfect." Hey, go sit with my mom. She should be near the front on the right. I have to go line up." I kiss her cheek really quick and open the dressing room door. I jog up to the maid of honor and interlock arms. I really hope this wedding goes fast.

Her beautiful smile had me distracted from the big amount of people staring at me, it was like a breeze up there speaking. Now I'm dancing to a song that I've never heard of with a crowd of people. When it changes though, I automatically know it. I look over to the DJ booth to see my brother smiling innocently shrugging his shoulders. It's my song. And the irony of it is it's a wedding. "Why'd you stop dancing?" I look down on her and reply with, " Hear that song?" She nods. "That's me." She makes an 'oh' expression with her face, and smiles. "These are the last two songs of the night." I hear the DJ say through the speakers.
I hear another familiar song, ironically the founder of our band. "Want to sit down? My feet are killing me!" She nods and slugs up to the chair by the table. When I sit down she lays her head on my shoulder."Tired?" She nods,"Let's find my brother so he can take us home. You can sleep in the car." I look around In my seat and suddenly feel a hand clamp into my shoulder. I quickly turn around from the surprise and find who I was looking for. "Ready?" He looks over at Nirvana's head laying on my shoulder. "I'm taking a guess that's a yes?" I shake my head and carefully pick her up off the chair beside me.
I don't know if she was actually asleep or not, but I do it anyways. I love holding her . My brother opens all the doors for me to exit out of, and when I enter the car I whisper, "Could you not almost wreck the car this time? Thanks." I gently lay her on the seat and her head on my lap. "Good night beautiful." I kiss the side of her head, and lean back into my seat to get a little bit of sleep my self.
