Author's Note: This story is a spin-off from the main story; Where the Ninjas travel to the realm of the Nexo Knights to rescue (Y/N). Only to discover she has a happy life with the Nexo Knights and the Ninjas become jealous of the knights.
Also, writer's block sucks! I re-wrote this so many times and I'm still not happy with it. What do you think?
(Third Person P.O.V)
___Nexo Knights___
As (Y/N) allows herself to peacefully slumber after her long day. The Nexo Knights and the Ninjas sit down to have an 'enthusiastic talk' about today's events.
"What did she find out?" Clay asks the Ninjas as they take their assigned seats. "She's fine by the way." Cole answers back as he gives the Nexo Knight an angry look. He was furious that the knight didn't seem to care about (Y/N)'s wellbeing.
"Hey, ease off man. She said she's ok. Leave Clay alone." Aaron said as Clay and Cole continued to glare at each other.
Axl took the opportunity to stand up. "Hey! You two just calm down okay? You don't have a reason to fight." Axl says to the pair in his big brother tone. They continue looking angrily at each other. Before they both grunt in agreement and look away.
"Cole, what was that about?" Nya questioned the Master of Earth. "It's him." Cole says pointing at Clay. "He's a weird control freak!" Cole declared at the top of his lungs. "He doesn't care about her. He only cares what information she could have found out after being accidentally kidnapped." Cole continued to shout and accuse the blue knight.
"That's not true!" Clay angrily objected. "No, you are a control freak, Clay." Lance interrupted with his snide remark. "Oh, just be quiet Lance." Clay hissed at the spoilt Nexo Knight before turning his attention back to the hostile Master of Earth.
"I may not trust Jestro right now but I know he wouldn't intentionally hurt her." Clay said, continuing his objection. "Are you sure?" Lance demands again. "Because it sounds like you're a control freak." Lance teased the blue Nexo Knight. "Shut up, Lance!" Clay growled again.
As Lance and Clay started up their childish bickering once more and the others gathered to watch them fight. At that moment Zane decided to take it upon himself to check in on Miss (Y/N) himself since one else was and seemed more interested in the fight.
Zane quietly knocked on the door to (Y/N)'s room and when he received no response the master of ice quietly yet forcefully opened the door and stepped inside.
Zane noticed the dartboard with knives and hand axes embedded in it hanging on the wall as he silently crept over to her bed.
(Y/N) was fast asleep head buried under her pillow, lightly grumbling in her sleep.
Zane smiled at her sleeping form. It wasn't a sight he often got to see. In fact, if he remembered correctly (Y/N) liked to hide when she slept. Hiding in the safest obscure hiddy-hole she could find. So her sleeping here was like someone else sleeping in public. Even if this was her room.
Zane was glad she could now rest in bed as he and his brothers could. But he also felt a pull in his power source, that they couldn't provide the sense of security for her to do this as the Nexo Knights seemed to be able to.
The master of ice decided to sit on the floor next to her bed and meditated while she slept and speak to her once she awoke but to also keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe. There was no telling what had actually happened to her during this ordeal and Zane just wanted her to be ok. And that he would be here if she needed someone.
(Y/N) started to stir in her sleep, due to having wild and vivid dreams of the past. She could hear a familiar voice calling to her, telling her to wake up. That she had a promise to keep. She didn't understand what was going on. (Y/N) sat up, her head throbbing. She clenched her teeth while gripping her throbbing head as she sat up.
Slowly, (Y/N) came too and tried to get past the initial haziness that still lingered from slumber.
(Y/N) glanced around her room and she noticed something or rather someone who wasn't there before.
(Y/N) glared daggers or what would've been daggers if she was coherent enough to glare them. "What the brick is going on here?" Finally, the annoying fog of sleep that was clouding her mind receded and she went to get up and face this intruder.
Silently landing on her feet before the white-haired boy meditating on her bedroom floor. She crouched down on her fingers and toes (Y/N) inspected the silent intruder. He appeared to be asleep. She leant in closer towards Zane's face.
She wasn't really sure what it was or at least she refused to define it but there was just something about his sleeping face. He looked quite peaceful. Free of pain and sorrow, almost content. As though he was dreaming of something beautiful or maybe it was the smooth, calm rising and falling of his chest.
"You're cute when you're sleeping." (Y/N) accidentally whispered under her breath.
"Am I really cute when I'm sleeping?" Zane asked her his brilliant blue eyes snapping open as (Y/N) jumped back slightly.
"How did you get in here?" She angrily demanded. "Um..." Zane began doing his best to come up with an answer that would enrage the occupant of the room any further. "The door was open?" He offered up hopelessly. The Masters of Ice was never a good liar.
(Y/N) eyed him suspiciously. "That's a load of brick." She hissed back with a sly smile on her face, making Zane shift uncomfortably under her stare until he finally confessed. "Okay." Zane said deciding to come clean. "I hacked the codes on your door. Please do not be mad. I was only wanting to cheek on you to see if you did not require help."
(Y/N) gave a light chuckle as the boy in white stumbled over himself to ask for forgiveness for his actions and invasion of privacy. "I should've known." (Y/N) sighed to herself glancing at the door.
Zane shifted uncomfortably as (Y/N) opened the door to her quarters. "Out now." (Y/N) bluntly ordered. Defeated Zane shuffled to the door but right before Zane was outside he turned to her and said.
"Why were you studying my face?" Zane questioned her rather suddenly. This caused (Y/N) to stumble with her speech this time.
"Nothing. You've just got some dirt on your face is all." She lied. "Really? Where?" Zane asked and started wiping his face in an attempt to remove the imaginary smudge.
"You got it." (Y/N) told him and shut the door and went back to sleep.
It was a short time later when someone else had a similar idea to the Master of Ice.
"Hey, (Y/N) you ok? There's something wrong with your lock. It's flashing. Did you break it?" Axl asked knocking on her door before entering.
Pulling her head up out of her pillow (Y/N) caught the brute with a smile that stops him in his tracks. "Hey, Axl. No, I didn't break." She said with a sleepy smile. But she paused for a moment deciding against telling Axl what really happened to the electronic lock. "Don't know what happened to it." She lied.
"What's wrong?" (Y/N) sleepily asked the hulking giant. "Uhh." He says as he moves to sit on the edge of her bed and shrugs. "Though I'd say hi." Axl mumbled out.
(Y/N) popped up on her bed. Axl was nervous. Though she wasn't entirely sure why he was nervous, it was rather cute to watch this hulking giant become flustered. Because in truth Axl wasn't all that scary, at least not to her.
(Y/N) had gotten to know the Nexo Knight's muscleman quite well these last few years. He was kind, honest and soft around the others whom he worked with. Kind of big, old, loyal guard dog.
"That, so?" (Y/N) questioned as she reached over and patted Axl's shoulder. In turn, Axl gave her a wry smile but gets quieter and quieter then just when (Y/N) was about to ask if he's ok again. A sudden drop of weight collapsed into her side.
Just a glance at Axl's face confirmed her suspicions.
Axl was falling asleep and frankly, he looked like he needed it. A smile curled up on her lips and she adjusts Axl ever so slightly to help hold his weight more comfortably.
"Bedtime. Tiny." (Y/N) said with a smirk at the nickname she'd just used.
"Mmm, not tired." Axl mumbled, swatting his hands at her to go away while simultaneously leaning more into her side to rest on almost crushing (Y/N).
"Oh. Yes, you are. And you're almost crushing me!" She laughed as she shoved the giant hoping to wake him but Axl just fell back on her. "Axl!" She yelped as he fell onto her. Axl mumbles a few syllables in response and snuggled up to the warmth that (Y/N) was producing.
(Y/N) grumbled angrily into Axl's chest. (Y/N) idly realised that Axl body warmth was leaking through his armour. (Y/N) yawned half-awake and teetering on the edge of exhaustion already and found it rather relaxing in Axl's arms; maybe she was more tired than she'd realised.
Axl's other large hand started playing with her hair. Cracking open an eye, Axl smiled as he watches (Y/N) sleepily lean into his touch.
It's these moments that Axl felt less like a wrecking ball and more like a safety net. Despite everything (Y/N) still found him safe enough to fall asleep at his sides. He loves the way (Y/N) would curl into his side when she was super tired she felt so small and delicate next to him. She was almost peaceful to be around when she was sleeping.
(Y/N) edged closer to him until she was able to rest her head against his chest. Axl slowly wrapped his arms around her. Thankfully (Y/N) remained calm and tension free. "See isn't this nice. I think the reason you're always so tense is that you feel like you have to be tough all the time." Axl told her as he snuggled closer.
(Y/N) just hummed a response but didn't say anything else. It didn't take Axl long to drift to sleep with her head nuzzled into his chest.
Author's Notes:
1.) Knight (Y/N) as I call her in this timeline has a weapon similar to Brigitte from Overwatch. Rocket Flail I believe it's called.
