3rd person

“..oh come on guys, stop fighting!”

“I’m gonna beat you to the top, fish-breath!”

“Like hell you will, boulder-brain!”

Kai sighed. Their latest training had included the four of them climbing a mountain. Lloyd wasn’t along for the ride, since he was too young and Sensei Wu didn’t think it was fair to have him do it. Jay and Cole had been fighting even more lately, and it was driving him nuts. Couldn’t their fight over his sister cease for at least one day?

“You might want to catch up,” Zane offered, seeing as he had already started climbing. The two let out an audible “argh” and followed. Kai rolled his eyes and followed as well. This mountain was steep, so they needed to try their best to get up as soon as they could, and Jay and Cole fighting wasn’t going to help, period. He crawled up fast, following Zane and catching up to him almost immediately.

In no time, they had reached the top of the mountain. Jay and Cole tied, and were arguing about who got there first, while Kai looked up and paled at seeing the dark gray clouds above. 

“Uh, guys?” Kai pointed up, and lightning struck the ground not too far away.

“Eck, rain!” Cole stuck out his tongue in disgust, looking for shelter. 

Zane looked around, scanning the surroundings, literally. “There is a cave not too far from here,” he pointed out, looking at the cave he had found. The four rushed in, and Kai was the fastest. He did like water the least, after all. In fact, maybe he ran in a bit too fast, because soon, he was teetering at the edge of a hole. He tried his best to keep his balance, but ended up falling in, screaming, until Jay caught him.

“I’ve gotcha!” Jay grunted, holding onto Kai’s feet. He was holding out well, until he too started to slip. “Woaah-”

This went on until only Zane was holding onto the three others, hanging on by just his feet. “I can’t.. hold on.. any longer!” he strained, seconds before they all fell, yelling in surprise and fear. 

A thousand feet down..

A thousand feet between realms, a thousand feet they fell, before landing on a bed of golden flowers…
