It's not like she ever did stop loving Cole, on the contrary she still did very much... but does still count if he had died?

Gosh, if only she could have told him. She never did, but oh how (Y/n) wished that she had. All that time, she could have just told him.

Just thinking about it made her sick...

"Cole!!!" Jay's distressed voice called out, catching everyone's attention.

(Y/n) rushed to the edge, her heart sunk down to her stomach; She could do nothing but watch in horror as Cole, her very best friend, her crush, fell into the dark cloud that claimed the land of ninjago.

"Nooo!!" She called out, seeing him disappear into the smokey black fog. Tears pricked at the edge of her eyes, and she tried to go after him.

Someone held her back, she fought, not even batting an eye to whoever was holding her back. She wanted to chase after him, to save him even though deep inside she knew it was already too late.

After minutes of fighting, and reasoning, (Y/n) finally stopped. She closed her eyes in pain and looked down at the ground, stifling a sob as a single tear slid down her cheek.

She looked up after gaining some composure, and set her sights upon the black fog that consumed the lands of which she lived in.

(Y/n) glared at the deadly fog that had claimed her friend, and balling her fist in rage, she spoke through clenched teeth "I'll get those oni, I'll take down as many as possible, even if its the last thing I'll ever do"

She meant every single word. She was going to take down as many of those things as she possibly could when she gets the chance.

Earlier the others had convinced her to go to her room to calm down, hoping she'd begin to think somewhat rationally again; Though, it wasn't really helping any.

(Y/n) flopped onto the bed, landing on her back with a huff, and stared up at the ceiling. 'I still can't believe he died..' She had watched him fall to his death in the deadly fog, so why did it not seem true?

Her thoughts were scattering all over the place, she noticed. From death, to flashback, to thoughts of revenge, and back to death, it was no doubt that her thoughts were indeed scattered.

(Y/n) sighs, no matter what her thoughts went to, they always came back to the single thing that had always filled her mind. Cole. He's stolen her thoughts ever since she met him.

(Y/n) regretted not telling him. If only, if only she had the chance to tell him, to tell him that she had feelings for him. Maybe he would have returned them?

'Too late for that now, and what if's won't help' (Y/n) thought. She sat up, it was time to stop wallowing in her thoughts and go do something about the threat that now faced everyone.

They're recreating the golden weapons

(Y/n) watches as Kai melts down the gold, making it into a beautiful gold liquid, before molding it and shaping it into the sword of fire.

Soon following the sword of fire, the nunchucks of Lighting, the shurikens of Ice, and last but not least...

"And the scythe... The scythe of quakes.." Kai says dejectedly, everyone in the room feeling the sting of loss at their friend.

"That was Cole's." Nya says with a sad look to her brother, sharing the pain that everyone in the room felt.

Kai turned to (Y/n), "I think he'd want you to have it" He says, handing her the scythe. (Y/n) looked at it in surprise.

"Me? Why?" She asked, looking at the shiny weapon that was in her grasp. Her fingers traced the fine details of what was Cole's weapon.

"You didn't know?" Jay asked, making (Y/n) glance up at him. "Know what?" she asked with a slight tilt of her head.

"Cole was quite fond of you" Zane explained, making (Y/n)'s eyes widen. "You don't mean.." She started, her mind reeling at the thought of him liking her back this whole time and she hadn't noticed.

"Yea, Cole had a huge crush on you" Kai confirmed. (Y/n) looked down at the ground with a groan, feeling like an idiot. "I feel so bad, I should've known" She said, fiddling with the weapon in slight shame.

"Don't, he took great care in making sure not to be obvious when you were around" Zane says, patting (Y/n)'s back in hopes of somewhat comforting her.

She looked up, just as Jay spoke "Yea, but he didn't care to hide it when you weren't looking. I can't tell you how many times I'd caught him staring at you" He chuckled.

(Y/n) smiled a bit, before the ringing of some bells caught all of their attention, making them all look at the door.

"The darkness" Nya says, voicing all their thoughts as they run outside to investigate their approaching enemy.

"It's here"

He gasped.

Jerking to a sitting position, Cole pants, catching his breath before looking around and observing his unfamiliar yet eerie surroundings.

Cole let out a startled yell as he saw one of the deadly black tendrils of the oni in front of him, and leapt to his feet.

He backed away in fear, looking side to side evaluating his surroundings, "Where the heck am I?" A growling in the distance sent Cole looking in that direction with fear, searching for the origin of the sound as he backed away.

He looked up, seeing the black tendrils creep in through the broken glass of what was the ceiling. "Oh boy, oh, boy" He said to himself, gazing at them in fear.

"Hey, guys? Did you forget something? It's me, Cole" He said into the earpiece, trying to get in touch with his friends.

"Guys?" He questioned, tapping his earpiece a few times, "Hello?" He says before he pulls his earpiece out.

"Oh great, now what?" He asked as he gazed at his broken earpiece, the only form of communication he had with his team at the moment.

"Stay calm, don't panic" He told himself.

"Why panic? I mean, heh, I'm all alone surrounded by creepy black tendrils that are getting closer and closer" he continued, talking to himself as he backed away.

They crept closer, forcing Cole to jump onto a desk behind him. The tendrils didn't stop, and Cole jumped and grabbed a light that hung down from the ceiling.

He swung on it, gaining momentum before releasing it and falling into the next room. He glanced up, seeing the black tendrils were still after him.

He scrambled to the door, getting up and pulling it shut right before the tendrils could sneak their way inside.

Cole let out a sigh, looking down at his earpiece. "Lets see if we can get this working again" He says, running off in search of a tool.

Opening a filing cabinet, he dug through until he finally found a pair of scissors. With a victory laugh, he held up the scissors before running off to a desk.

He fiddled with it, getting a tad bit frustrated because of his lack of knowledge on technology "Oh come on, I'm not a microtronics guy! Where's Nya or Pixal or Zane or Jay when you need them?"

"Please work, please work, please work, please work, please work" Cole said, looking hopefully as the earpiece flashed from red to green.

He held it up to his ear, and hearing nothing he decided to give up and ran off in search of his car. "Where is it? Where?" Cole asked as he approached the window, looking around. "I can't see it"

He put his hand on the window and rubbed it, as if it were regular fog he could simply wipe away with his palm. "I can't see anything" he said with a dejected voice

Cole slumped on the railing defeatedly, dropping his earpiece on the ground as he did so. It made a small beep, but he ignored it. Instead he buried his head in his arms, lost in thought.

'There's no way I can be stuck here.... Die like this... What about my friends?...' He thought sadly.

'.. what about (Y/n)? I never got to tell her..' he thought back to the (H/c) haired girl, her smile, her laugh. What was a good friendship for him, slowly turned to a crush.

He never told her though, he didn't want to ruin the awesome friendship he and (Y/n) had together, but now he would take it all back just to tell her. Maybe she would have liked him back, or at least told him for sure if it would ever happen or not.

Cole imagined what it would have been like if he had just asked her, just told her. He imagined all the different ways it could have gone, all the different responses.

His favorite was the one where he admits, and (Y/n) stares at him for a while before telling him "Cole... I feel the exact same way about you!" and pulling him into a big hug.

A loud sound pulled him out of his thoughts, and looking up he saw the bright lights of his car. "It worked" He said, feeling relief at the sight of his car, his chance to escape.

"Wo-ho-ho!!!" He hollered, elated at seeing his car. Cole never thought he would ever be so happy to see it.

He picked up his earpiece, a determined look settled upon his face. "I can make it" he said to himself.

"Yeah, right... as soon as you step out there it's going to freeze you solid" He voiced his fears, looking into the fog again but with dread.

"Quit talking like that!" He scolds himself, "I'm going for it! For (Y/n)!" he says, looking at the car, slightly apprehensively.

"Ninjago!!" He shouts, bursting out the door and using spinjitzu. He collapsed to the ground, coughing.

He grunted, getting up. "I can do that" He said, slowly making his way to his car, grunting with each step he took.

It seemed so far, each step became harder, each second more suffocating. He fell to the ground, unable to walk any longer.

But he was still determined, and crawled instead. Hauling himself up using the car, he glanced at the creeping tendrils that have returned.

He tapped his earpiece on the car, until if finally opened up, allowing him to scramble inside to safety.

He closed it again, gasping when it did. He caught his breath for a minute before starting it up. "Let's.. N-never d-do that a-again" He said to himself, before speeding away.

They rushed the civilians inside the monastery, in hopes of keeping them safe from the oncoming oni.

(Y/n) scowled down at the oni, hungry for a nice taste of revenge for what they did to the land of ninjago.

Mostly... For what they did to Cole.

They prepared for battle against the oni army, "So begins the end" The leader said, raising his arms. (Y/n) glared at their ugly faces, she couldn't wait to get down there and start beating them up.

Was it dangerous?

Yes

Was it going to kill her?

Probably

Did (Y/n) care one bit?

Nope.

'If I'm dying, I'm taking as many of those THINGS down with me as I can ' She thought, her grip on the scythe tightening.

"Lloyd!" Misako's voice sounds, pulling (Y/n) out of her vengeful thoughts, making her glance over where the old woman was running up the stairs with a young child.

"Mother, you should be inside" Lloyd says, heading towards her with concern on his face.

"I'm not leaving you" She told him, grabbing his outstretched hand and looking into her son's emerald eyes.

"No matter what happens, those inside need your protection. Will you do that for me?" He asked, both of them glancing at the child that had been running up with her.

She looked sadly at him, before pulling him into a hug. "I love you. Be careful" She told him before heading into the monastery.

""Faith!" Jay exclaimed, seeing their old friend come out of the monastery with a sword in hand.

"You should be resting, Faith, you're not fully healed yet" Kai says, urging the girl to go back inside so she doesn't get hurt.

"If the end is coming, I will face it on my feet" She declared, sending them a determined look that told them she refused to go back inside.

"As will I" Wu says, standing at the door and looking out upon the ninja for a second before descending the stairs to join them.

"Hmm. I did not expect to fight alongside you again" Garmadon says to Wu as he approached.

"Nor I you,it seems life has a few surprises left for both of us." Wu says, before the sound of marching took their attention away.

"Close the doors, quickly!" Wu shouts, turning back to make sure the monastery door were shut securely to keep the people safe.

"Now, we finally get to fight these ugly things" (Y/n) mumbled to herself as she flipped on her hood, readying herself for battle as they approached.

"The time of endings has come" The leader said, looking up at them as they jumped into battle positions.

"This is it, guys. Pick your targets" Lloyd instructs. (Y/n) looks out among all the different oni that covered the field

'Eenie meenie miney mo, pick a target by it's toe' (Y/n) thought, already setting her sights on the leader.

"I'll take the big one" Garmadon says, calling the one she was fixing to claim.

"He's all yours" Jay says, narrowing his eyes as he too gazed out upon the giant army that threatened them at the moment.

(Y/n) huffed 'Drat, too late' She thought, looking out among the oni again. 'I guess I'll take... any that are dumb enough to come near me'

The leader let out a battle cry, and the army charged into battle. (Y/n) could feel the adrenaline begin to flow through her veins as she readied to charge.

She leaped into battle along with her companions. "This one's for you Cole!" She shouts, wacking the scythe into one sending it to the ground.

"And this one! And this one! And-" (Y/n) got knocked to the ground. An oni pinned her down, and she struggled to throw it off.

Lloyd came up to help, using spinjitzu to throw it off her. She got up, "Use the scythe!" he exclaimed.

(Y/n) slammed it into the ground, but nothing happened. "Use it!" He repeated, making (Y/n) growl under her breath.

"I'm trying! Do I look like the master of Earth to you?! It's not responding cause I'm not the master of earth!" She snapped at him, before blocking another attack.

She was quickly being surrounded, and one girl with a heavy golden scythe that wouldn't work for her can only do so much.

The ground rumbled, and looking back (Y/n) saw Cole's car pop out of the ground. 'There's no way' she thought as she watched.

Cole came out with a big grin on his face "Hey guys, couldn't wait for me, huh?" He asked lightheartedly.

"How- Where" Lloyd stammered in disbelief.

(Y/n) couldn't say anything if she wanted to, she was at a complete loss for words.

Jay on the other hand.. "We thought we lost you, you jerk!" He exclaimed, though his words conveyed anger it was obvious that he was happy to see Cole alive.

"You can't get rid of me that easily" Cole said, making everyone laugh a bit.

Cole looked around before his eyes landed on (Y/n). "Is that my old scythe?" He asked her.

(Y/n) flipped her hood off, nodding with a big smile on her face. She tossed it to him, and he jumped and caught it, landing in the ground and striking it.

The oni were knocked back, and everyone jumped into battle once more.

(Y/n) and Cole fought back to back, helping each other out when necessary.

"Don't you dare pull that again, ok?" She said, knocking away the oni she was fighting, turning and punching him in the arm playfully.

"I promise, that's the last time" Cole says, holding up his hand in mock defense. (Y/n) scoffed, but smiled at him.

"(Y/n), there's something I have to tell you real quick" Cole says to her as they continue to fight side by side.

"Is now really the time?" She asked as she knocked away another oncoming oni.

"Yes," Cole said, knocking away his opponent. He turned and grabbed her by the shoulders, making her face him.

"I should've told you this earlier, I realize that now" He starts, making (Y/n) look at him with curiosity.

"(Y/n)... I like- no, I love you" He says, face flushing red.

He continues " I have for a really long time, and I never told you. But I am now, and I'm super sorry if this makes our friendship awkward or anything, but, I just want to let you know. I have to get it off my chest, or I'll regret it some other time. You see, I love you more than cake! I really do.."

He looked at her, face still blushing. He cleared his throat and let go of her shoulders, stepping back. "I-I'm sorry about that" He began.

(Y/n) stopped him, "No, don't be" She said, looking up at him with those (E/c) eyes that he had fallen for. "Cole... I feel the exact same way about you!" She exclaimed, before dragging him into a big hug.

"Really?!" He asked, not quite believing this reality. "Yes" She said, releasing him and giving him a big grin, happy that he did indeed return those feelings.

Their happiness was short lived though, as they began to be surrounded by an overwhelming amount of oni.

They backed away, knowing this was too much for even the both of them to handle together.

"Fall back! Everyone fall back!" Lloyd shouts, gaining their attention. (Y/n) looked to Cole, who nodded.

Together, they retreated into the monastery, wondering if they will make it out alive or not. But, both knew that whatever happens, at least they both had said what they wanted to say.

"Oh wait there's one last thing I need to say... I ate your pudding cup, Jay"

"THAT WAS YOU, (Y/N)???!!!"
