Monster?
I sat next to the kid. "I know how it feels like..."
"You do, don't you?" she said.
"Being a demon isn't easy, kid. People take one look at you and despise you with all their heart, even if they've done worse than you could ever
do. I once knew a king named Vivek. If you knew how he treated his family and his people..."
"That Vivek sounds like a very bad man, Alzenara said.
"He was! He even smelled like yesterday's tortilla with a dead rat inside it. I'm glad he's gone now," I replied. "But that's not the point. I used to hate myself because of this messed-up society. I once thought that maybe if I flew high enough and fell, I could finally end it all. But I was wrong. I didn't fly high enough and only ended up with a damaged wing. That's when I met her."
"Met who?"
"Yakuki. The most gorgeous woman I've ever seen. When we first met, she immediately rushed to help me. I refused her help at first but finally gave in, and I don't regret it. I finally met someone who could appreciate me for who I am, not for what society defines me as. Look, Alzenara, my point is that maybe you weren't around the right people. Is that why you were trying to find your friend?"
"I guess," she sighed. "Morro was the only one who truly understood me, and I was the only one who understood him. It's not his fault he
didn't become the Green Ninja. It's destiny's fault."
"Destiny is something you have to shape yourself, Alzenara. It's your actions, or perhaps someone else's, that define it. Nothing else. And your destiny led you to Yakuki, and that's a good thing. Stay here for a while before continuing your search for Morro."
"Alright," Alzenara said and hugged me. It felt weird. No one besides Yakuki would hug me willingly like that. No kid would feel safe around me, no one would relate to me like that.especially a little girl but Alzenara...she is different somehow.why?
