"The battle"

Zane's felt his heart beating faster and faster as he faced off against the Anacondrai menace. He unleashed a surge of ice, freezing 3 snakes in their tracks, their shrieks of protest echoing in the trees. But it couldn't hold them for long; their icy prison was already starting to crack. He didn't want to be right there when they fully broke out, so he swiftly made his way around the fights, away from them. Jay electrocuted a warrior as they lunged at him with their sword. True, the Fire Tribe was attacking everyone, but the leaders seemed to be a target. It was like who ever took them out would get more points in the game. And all of them seemed to want that. Jay was beginning to tire, but he continued to push forward. An arrow whirled by him, gracing the back of his neck. The moment he turned to see his attacker, an arrow flew directly at his face. The boy flinched, but the point only poked his nose. Morro had used his wind to stop the arrow in its path and fling it back at the one who fired it. He jumped down from a tree branch and nodded at Jay. Meanwhile, Nya had her own hands full, even with Cole as back up. The venom in Cole’s arm had proven a serious problem. It was fully numb, he couldn't move it, and it had turned more of a purple tone. If that's what happens when the venom enters your arm, he began to fear for those who might be bitten elsewhere. What if you get bit in the leg? You'd be rendered mostly immobile; an easy kill. The master of earth tried desperately to banish the thought from his head, but it wasn't long before it started becoming a reality. With her water, Nya blasted back a soldier as it bit someone, and ran to the villagers side. They stumbled back and held their wound, which was located on their shoulder; the attack clearly aiming for the heart, but missing. Nya ran them to a quieter place and helped them sit down. They panicked as their breathing began to slow. Nya, terrified of the situation, tried to use her powers in the wound and flush out the poison, but while it seemed to be working for a moment, the Jade Tribe villager quietly slipped away. No amount of begging she did brought them back.

Meanwhile in the safe location behind the waterfall, the children, Kataru, the Wind Tribe, and now, Ronin and Kai, were all trying to keep quiet. Kai’s dark infection was beginning to hurt again. Clouse already took away his powers, what more did he want out of this cursed spell?! Well, his life, he guessed. But still! Ronin stood guard closest to the entrance, with the old fire leader right behind him. One of the women from the Wind Tribe sat by Kataru, who was laying as far away as he could from Kai. She stroked his trembling arm as he desperately longed to receive a miracle so he could go help his tribe fight. Echo and Nelson sat by each other along with a the other kids from the various tribes. Finally, Echo couldn't take it. "I need to help my brother!" He cried. Nelson tried to assure him that Zane was alright, but once a thought was in Echo's mind, it wouldn't leave easily. The little boy ran, pushing past Ronin and leaving the safe spot. The others wanted to yell for him to come back, but didn't want to risk giving away their location. Zane fought diligently against the warriors, not breaking concentration, until a familiar figure ran to his side and latched onto his leg. The master's eyes filled with horror as he moved faster than he ever thought he could. Zane scooped up Echo and narrowly dodged a sword strike.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He scolded. "It's not safe here, you're gonna get yourself killed!!! I can't afford to lose you!" He says all that while holding the child, dodging and freezing the murderers that continue to fight him.

The little boy's eyes filled with tears as he looked into the icy blue eyes of his elder brother. "I was scared you wouldn't come back..."

Zane's concentration broke as he let his guard down in order to feel sympathy for the child. That was a mistake. An arrow shot towards the boy in his arms, and without a second thought to his actions, he turned around to protect him. Echo was dropped to the ground as Zane cried out.

"Brother!"

Zane trembled as he transformed into a falcon and latched onto Echo's jacket with his talons. He sloppily flew him over near Brad; dropping him and turning back to a human against his will. "Get him out of here!" He coughed. Brad took his protective duty seriously, and did just as instructed. As they ran, Echo looked back at his brother. Now he could see what his attempt at 'helping' truly did. The master of ice had an arrow halfway in his back, and he was on his knees, trying to catch a breath. Lloyd witnessed the last moments of the interaction and bolted to Zane's side. He created a green energy force field around them as he tried to wriggle arrow out as painless as he could. Once it was done, he used his newfound healing ability to fix the problem. It took a while, but the green energy rippled into a gold one that seeped into the gash and sealed it. "That should do it. How do you feel?"

"A little dizzy, and bit sore, but other than that, I think I'll be fine. Thank you my friend."

Meanwhile, Clouse and Chen were fighting against Garmadon. They had taken their fight further away from the village. Garmadon had done it purposefully so less people would be harmed in their battle. They fought on the high ground overlooking the village. The master growled as the bull tail of his Oni form thrashed. "What you're doing here is foolish! We both know that all this is going to accomplish is pointless slaughter!"

"Maybe on your end," Clouse smirked, "But our side is literally indestructible. The only ones going down over there are your people. Give up Garmadon, you know you can't win."

"My brother DIED to ensure the safety of this realm! I am not letting his sacrifice go in vain!" He charged at Chen, who was flung back by the force of his horns. The snake landed in a thorn bush farther away. The master lunged at Clouse with his claws, but was met by a flamethrower he couldn't dodge. The Jade leader tumbled to the ground, however, making a fast recovery, lunged at Clouse again. Dark tendrills shot up from beneath and wrapped around his leg, promptly throwing him away.
Garmadon let out a massive roar and flew into the sky. With a scowl, all four of his fists lit ablaze with purple fire and he blasted Clouse back, as well as flinging Chen farther away. When the old master of fire recovered, he silently slithered away like a coward. As he bolted away, he smacked into someone else who was running.

When the two shook off the impact, Chen and Kai locked eyes.
