Chapter 5: Time to rise up

Mr.E entered the boss' office nervously. You couldn't see it through his red visor but the feeling of dread and fear was definitely there. He closed the door behind him and stood still as the office chair was turned on him. The person sitting on it was facing the wall. Remarkably, there was a billboard of the whole city map pinned on there. "You asked to see me? Quiet one?" The nindroid's voice died down as the chair rotated. A smile from red blood lips greeted his mouthless host. "That is correct. I have heard from my generals that you have failed the easiest of training." She stood up from the chair and her black heels clicked against the stone flooring. He gulped as the quiet one got closer to him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to fail." He apologized almost in a blurt. He knew that apologizing was the best thing he could do right now. He knew that the quiet one had less sympathy than Violet but rumours say she's more cold-blooded in her actions. But one thing was kept in mind. She wasn't Violet. So who knows if the rumours are true or not? The quiet one looked at him straight in the eye. Her jade eyes showing deception. "I don't understand how a program like you could fail that to be honest. I programmed you to rise above your station." She paused to sigh and captured her fragile complexion on her palm. A neutral sounding slap entered the room. "God, it was so easy. How did you fail?!" She grabbed him by his helmet and shook him.

The nindroid tensed up at the contact and uncomfortable movement. "I really didn't mean to fail! Please!" He begged, raising his hands to take her own off of him. Harumi shook her head and growled, pushing him to the wall and let go.
"I thought you could have done better than that. You're a damn robot after all." She remarked hatefully before walking back to her desk. She sighed. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't just ditch you in Ninjago's finest dumps?" She waited for the robot's response. Mr. E took a deep breath before feeling his electrical heart ache. It wasn't really a heart just a contraption that sends him shocks every now and then whenever he'd have heart attacks. He exhaled.

"I-I just want to stay in your organization because...I want to make this city a better place. This ninja you speak of? They need to get out of the picture a-and if I wasting my days disappointing you, we wouldn't have our city back from those fools. T-that's why I want to help you and the others destroy them-hurt them. Show them a lesson for messing with our town. I want to help but in order to do that, I need to get stronger. " he narrowed his eyes through his red visor. The quiet one sat back down and didn't seem stunned or anything like that. She stood here with the same angered look. Though when he was done, she let out a quiet: 'hm'. Obviously thinking about his reason. There was a moment of silence before Harumi raised her hand. "Don't celebrate yet, you rookie. But I'm giving you three more days to train. Before you'll be redoing the same obstacle course. If I were you, I'd train. Now begone." She dismissed him.

Hearing her words, his shoulders raised. "You're not kicking me after all?" He exclaimed almost in pure bliss and relief. Harumi gave an irritated look as she pulled on her hair. "I will kick you if you don't get moving!" She screamed out of annoyance. Mr. E jumped and immediately turned around to leave her office. As he was walking to the door though, he was stopped by his boss again. She snickered: "by the way, I like the way you think. Those ninja will get what they deserve, won't they?" She questioned, waiting for a specific answer. Luckily, Mr.E saw through her question and replied with a nod. "Yes ma'm. They will." He spoke, earning a small cackle from Harumi. "That's good." She trailed off her voice. It sounded more like an evil tone. Yes, definitely cold and cruel. It sent shivers down the nindroid's wires as he walked away from her office door.
