Cole and Kai roamed the streets of Ninjago in search of the remaining team members. Cole looked sideways at Kai in an instant and raised his eyebrows worriedly.

- Kai... since when can your vehicle fly?

- Because it can't!!! - shouted the brunet in horror, when he saw the Hunter in the rear view mirror, holding his vehicle.

Both boys began shouting and waving their arms in panic (viz. Kai), while Cole tried to keep the vehicle's grip on the road. Hunter lifted the red ninja vehicle and threw it towards Cole's machine. Both boys, now screaming in fear as the vehicle went off the road, hit the building.

The hunter watched them for another moment before flying away. Kai was the first to wake up. With a groan, he lifted his head from the steering wheel and, making sure the Hunter was gone, jumped out of the vehicle. He looked at Cole, who was leaning inertly on the seat, being unconscious.

- Cole? Cole! Can you hear me, buddy? - He asked worriedly, when he didn't answer.

He broke the glass with his fist and opened it. He put his hand to the black ninja's neck, checking for a pulse, and sighed in relief when he felt he was still alive.

- Cole... wake up, before more monsters come! - he shook him, but the boy groaned in response, still keeping his eyes closed.

Moments later, Kai heard voices and looked out from behind the wrecked vehicles. On the opposite street he saw a squadron of soldiers, whose general was the Mechanic.

- Search the street! We must find the ninjas, it's an order from the King himself.

Kai panicked when the Mechanic looked in his direction. He ran up to Cole and grabbed him by the shoulders.

- This is not the right time for a nap! Get a move on, Cole, I beg you! - ' he groaned worriedly, then slapped the Earth Lord on the cheek to wake him up.

Nothing worked, so Kai unbuckled the straps holding Cole and pulled him out of the vehicle. Cole muttered something unintelligible under his breath, but said nothing.

- No, Cole. Cake later. - muttered Kai to him, grabbing him by the shoulders and starting to walk as he heard the thundering footsteps of the army.

They walked down a narrow alley, heading for one of the buildings to take cover. Unfortunately, Kai found it hard to carry the heavy Master of Earth. The army's footsteps were getting louder and louder and Kai, had to hide with his friend behind a dumpster, when the army was just around the corner.

- I feel your presence, ninja. Come here, I promise we won't do anything to you. - Said the Mechanic with a fake kind tone in his voice.

Kai swallowed hard and now prayed that none of these bloodthirsty werewolves had found them.

- 'Where are you, come out to me... We'll have fun. - laughed the Mechanic maniacally.

A/N: Okay... that sounds awfully bad. I'll go home, I'd better....

Cole suddenly awoke and, with a silly grin on his lips, called out at full volume. - We are here!!!

Kai gasped and his eyes widened like saucers. He covered his boyfri... friend's mouth and hissed in his ear.

- Are you crazy!!!? You're going to turn us in, Cole! Shake it off!

A/N: Lava shippers seem to be getting a lot of content through this episode, hm?

The mechanic smiled sinisterly. - I got you, ninja...~~

He walked closer and closer. Kai ignited his fists and kicked the bin towards the Mechanic, pushing him away. The Mechanic quickly got up to face the Master of Fire, using his flamethrower.

- It isn't wise to fight fire with fire. - Kai heard a calm voice full of wisdom in his head.

Suddenly, Mr F ran up to the Mechanic and fired his gun at Kai's hand, making him scream in pain and grab his shot hand. He looked with a burning gaze at the robot, who was loading a magazine. 

- Awww... can't you handle it, ninja? Too bad your friend fainted. Two of you, maybe you would have had a chance. - sneered the Mechanic, preparing to fire again.

Kai hissed in pain and stepped back, until his back collided with the wall. He looked at his hand and gripped it tightly, trying to stop the bleeding.

Mr F and the Mechanic pulled out Shurikens of Ice and aimed them at the Master of Fire. Kai panting looked at them with a hard stare.

- Let's see about it! - cried two voices.

Kai and the two villains looked up to see Skylor and Saber looking at them with mischievous grins. Kai sighed in relief at the sight of his beloved and friend. Skylor winked at him in response, making him blush. They both jumped off the roof in a nimble movement and turned to Kai.

- Skylor, Saber? How did you...? - he began in disbelief.

- Hello, hot shot. - Skylor winked flirtatiously at him and touched his shoulder, copying his power.

Kai sent her a loving smile in response. The redhead touched Cole's head and also copied his power.

- Skylor? You're the one with the ability... and since when does a lion have horns? - Mechanic asked.

- Yes. - interrupted Skylor and threw herself at the attacking assailants.

Saber flashed his horns and started firing at Mr. F and nailed him to the wall, using his front paws.

The robot looked at him with dead eyes, before slamming it's forehead against the lion's muzzle, causing it to roar in pain and back away. Just as the lion was about to pounce on him again, the robot kicked him in the mouth.

Mr F reached behind his belt and pulled out another gun, reloaded it and fired at the lion. The lion roared, as the bullets hit it's side.

- Saber!!! - shouted Kai and furiously threw himself at the robot.

The two began to fight fiercely behind each other, hitting each other in the face with their fists. The lion fell to the ground on it's side and was panting heavily. Cole finally woke up and gasped, when he saw the injured lion.

Skylor gasped worriedly, but continued to fight fiercely against the Mechanic, who breathed a stream of fire at her.

Mr F punched Kai hard in the face, causing him to back away. Kai spat out blood and already seriously pissed, all he could see was red. His fire burned all the way up to his shoulders and he sent the robot the most deadly stare for, what he had done to his little sister's beloved friend.

He quickly exchanged a series of blows towards him, before quickly running up to him and punching the robot's body through and through with his lit fist. Mr. F let out a few squeaks, before Kai took his fist away, letting it fall unceremoniously to the ground.

Kai looked still at the destroyed robot, which was being consumed by fire from the inside, before spitting blood on it and kicking it in the side.

- I will never let anyone hurt any of my friends. - He growled at the nindroid.

He was suddenly snapped out of his trance, when Skylor shouted at him to get the injured lion with Cole and step back. The girl slammed her fist into the ground and a large stone barrier sprang up.

They slowly retreated, hearing some cursing behind them and the Mechanic's worthless threats, before they fell completely silent.

The three heroes knelt on the ground, looking at the badly wounded Saber, who was panting with his eyes closed, having a nasty two gunshot wounds on his side.

- Saber.... It's okay... you'll be okay. - Cole said quietly, but everyone could hear the crack in his voice.

Saber slowly opened his eyes and looked at him with a blank stare. All three looked at him with a suffocating expression of regret and sadness.

- I feel... weak... paralysed... - he muttered slowly. - I'm sorry... for that.

Kai bit his lip hard and looked down at his hand, which had stopped bleeding.

- Take it easy, buddy! Aya will heal you, just hold on until we get back to the others. - assured Kai.

- No... it won't do any good... it's a couple of solid streets from here... we won't make it. - said the lion quietly.

- Let's hurry up! We've got dragons... right away... - started Cole.

- No... the Hunters will detect you and knock you out of the sky, faster than you think. Listen... just... leave me here.

- What are you talking about!? You're Saber, you'll survive! Just... just... - stammered Kai, as tears baked his eyes.

- Sometimes even the best, they don't come out alive from war... don't you remember? - said the lion.

- And what, are you going to leave us!? Are you going to leave (Y/N)!? - asked Cole in disbelief, trying to hold back the tears.

Saber sent him a sad smile. - Even if I'm not by her side all the time. I'll be by her side... even if she can't see me. She's got you guys too... one, big family of crazy people.

Kai and Cole now didn't hold back and tears started streaming down their faces. Skylor was looking at him with eyes red from the tears coming in.

- You guys are the best people, I've ever met. And I would give my life for people like you. What I've done now.... Such is the life of a hero... as Jay said... ,,Every time when something happens, the team loses one member.'' ... such is life... buddies. - he said in a solemn tone.

- Take good care of her and Aaron, will you? Don't let her stray again... and keep fighting those monsters... fight the big boss in this game... and remember... I... will always... be on guard... and waiting for you...There... - he breathed out, before taking a deep breath and his head fell to the ground.

With a final murmur of pain, his side slumped, signalling he was out of breath. His horns lost their glow and Skylor, Cole, Kai could feel a freezing cold around them.

All three pulled their noses and after one look at each other, they lost it. Streams of tears began to flow from their eyes and they hugged the dead body of the lion. Their best friend, comrade in arms and comforter in dramas.

- Sleep well, Saber.- said, sobbing Skylor.

- What are we going to say (Y/N)? - sobbed Kai, still with his face in Saber's mane.

All three of them rose and looked heartbroken, not knowing how to answer this question. One thing was certain... (Y/N) would break down after this devastating news.
