Chapter 46: The Great Escape
Using teleportation, Lloyd reached the area, where the levitating mountain was now located. He stood on the edge of the mountain and, with his hands on his hips, sighed and looked at his target.
He sniffed the air and licked his sharp teeth. From here he could sense Harumi's presence inside and the energies of the Crystal King.
What's more, he could feel that somewhere underground there was an army of crystal beasts marching at attention in line with the mountain, while stone dragons, powered by the power of crystal, were digging tunnels, under the command of Vangelis.
A/N: Honestly these dragons look like Lord Krakenskull's beast.
- I'm coming for you, Harumi. - He laughed madly and disappeared in a golden streak.
He was already inside the temple. He looked around at the difference in paths and began to look for his girlfriend.
He picked up the trail and started running after her. He stopped at a fork in the corridors, only to come to a halt, when he sensed the Crystal King around the bend, followed immediately by two werewolves.
The King was heading toward his library of dark scrolls and books, when he sniffed the air and sensed someone's presence.
The dragon growled and looked around, until his gaze fell on one of the corridors, where Lloyd was hiding.
With a quick step, the king went and roared at the intruder, which were his werewolves, who groaned in fright.
The dragon growled displeased, but again sniffed the air for that scent and shifted his gaze to the stone shelf below the ceiling. Flat on his stomach lay Lloyd, who, as if on pins, waited for him to go.
The Crystal King, along with the werewolves, began climbing up the wall to discover the intruder. Lloyd clenched his jaw and growled quietly, preparing to jump, as they got closer and closer....
- Your Highness!!! - was interrupted by a yell.
The king returned back to the ground and turned to the voice. Mechanic came running over and was panting heavily from running.
- What do you want! How dare you interfere with my hunting! - he demanded in an angry tone.
- I'm sorry, but ... Peacebreaker squadron started fighting again.
The king groaned in exasperation and shook his head. Casting one last glance at the shelf, he went with the mechanic to the barracks to stop the fighting.
Lloyd sat down and sighed in relief. He quickly jumped off the shelf, disappearing in a golden streak. Harumi sat in her quarters and looked in the mirror at her violet sparkling eyes, sharpening her obsidian blade.
She glanced around the corner and gasped in shock, when she saw Lloyd, or rather his demon. She turned around, pointing her dagger at him.
Lloyd giggled slightly at her cute ( in his opinion ) state.
- What are you doing here Lloyd! You have no right to be here! How did you get here without arousing the suspicions of the King. - she demanded.
- I came to get you. I have to get you out of here. - He said, taking a step forward.
- Don't come any closer! Do you hear! No!
- Don't fight me, Harumi. You don't want trouble, so don't fight. Just... come with me.
- No, come closer and I'll slit your throat.
Lloyd stopped and sighed, looking at the floor. Suddenly he reached out and pressed the jade on his chest. Oni's face lit up before it disappeared. Harumi sighed in surprise, but kept her guard up.
- This is just the armor, that the power gave me. Did you guys really think, I had gone to the darkside? - He asked, playing with his fingers.
- Honestly... for a moment I thought so. - admitted Harumi with a giggle, before returning to a serious mood. - What do you want from me?
Lloyd rolled his eyes. - Didn't you hear? I came to save you.
- I don't need help! Especially yours! I already had hope once, but you squandered it!
- I know... and I want to fix it. I want to help you, to free you from his control.
- I am not controlled. - She denied it, wrinkling her eyebrows.
- You are. Your eyes betray you.
- You yourself don't know, what you are talking about, Lloyd. Maybe the power has gone to your brain and you are talking nonsense.
- I'm not lying! He controls you, just like the other members of his council. He wants you to obey him. Like puppets, and he is a puppeteer.
Harumi looked down at the dagger and fell silent. Lloyd came closer to her, but she quickly brandished the dagger at him to make him step back.
- You don't know anything, Lloyd. He saved me, gave me the life, I lost because of you. He sees potential in me.
- I didn't kill you! It's...I ... argh! Don't you understand! I take care of you like no one ever did in life. I cared for you, gave you affection, and you...! You didn't want me.
The boy grabbed his golden curls and sat down on her black bed. Harumi relaxed for a moment, but held her arms. She threw him a caring look before her head hurt and shook it and the dead stare returned.
- Perhaps you weren't enough for me.
Lloyd gasped and looked at her with a pained and shocked look. Harumi almost flinched at his behavior. His shock turned into determination and he abruptly got out of bed. Harumi stepped back, until her back hit the desk.
- And so I will not give up on you. Even if you hate me, I'm going to save you! Because if I don't and you die... I will die with you! Because my remorse wouldn't let me live.
A/N: Like Romeo and Juliet. Eh... like romantic.
Harumi remained silent and stared at Lloyd. The boy took a few steps toward her, and she quickly threw a dagger at him. He made a quick dodge, causing the weapon to slam into the wood of the cabinet.
- Don't come any closer... please. You won't do anything... you can't...- she replied, grabbing at her hair.
Lloyd looked at her sadly, as she looked down. He sighed and slowly, as if to a frightened animal approached. He slipped a finger under her chin to make her look at him.
- Harumi... trust me. I am only here to take you away from here and give you shelter. I don't want you to suffer in the fire of the coming war. Please... come with me while you still have a chance. - He begged, in a breaking voice.
- War? What war? - She asked confused, placing her hand on his wrist as he still kept his hand on her chin.
- A war is coming, Rumi. A terrible war. The Crystal King isn't who he claims to be, and I want to use you, as pawns and someone to control his army, when he gains power.
- But... he told me... he promised me, that if I was faithful to him...- she began, and her eyes flashed from violet to a beautiful emerald, before turning violet again.
- He will give you a family. Will he give you back the parents you lost? Please... he is not a necromancer. He is not capable of such things....
- What do you mean by that?
- He... took advantage of you. - He admitted and sighed heavily.
Harumi gasped and pulled out of his grasp. Lloyd reached for her, but she shook it off. She shook her head, stepping back.
- You lie... you lie, you liar!!! He respects me... he is grateful to me for freeing him! He, he couldn't...
- Rumi... please...!
Harumi quickly ran to the door and ran out of the room, leaving a stunned Lloyd, who quickly shook himself off and ran after her. The white-haired woman ran to the alarm bells and grabbed the cord and sounded the alarm.
The werewolves at the base and Serpentine quickly ran to the armory to get weapons and guns with sleeper bullets. Lloyd, when he reached Harumi, she stood frightened, looking at him.
Just as he was about to grab her, from the two gates, a herd of Vengenstone Warriors with vengenstone weapons rushed in on either side of her. Lloyd looked at her in pain, as she tore through them and ran further down the corridor.
The herd growled at him and began to run with weapons drawn. The boy quickly pressed the jade on his chest and his Oni mask returned, activating destruction mode in him.
He reached behind his back and golden katanas appeared in his hands. He glowed his horns and started running at the army, turning the werewolves into glass.
Harumi ran, as hard as she could to the throne room, where the Crystal King was sitting on a throne. She ran into the hall, and the King abruptly opened his eyes.
- What is it?
- The green ninja...! He... he is here, My Lord! And he is attacking our army!
- WHAT!!! Gather all your forces and destroy him!!!
The king got up from his throne and with thundering steps began to walk towards the battle. He let out a loud roar, calling the werewolves who were in the barracks to him.
Lloyd bravely fought the werewolves, slashing and chopping them. Serpentine was led by Aspheera and Pythor, who wielded the Nunchucks of Lightning.
- Shoot and put the animal down! - ordered Pythor in a dark voice, as for him without the shadow of a sinister smile and the gleam in his eye, he usually wore.
- I just happen to know the perfect spell for that. - hissed Aspheera, also too... in a dead voice and not the crazy one, she usually had. - It will kill him immediately. - she said to Pythor, throwing him a blank stare.
Pythor nodded, not even looking at her, just looking at the proud figure of the Crystal King, who stood and watched the fight.
- Avada Kedavra!!! - shouted Aspheera, and her blade on her staff glowed green. She swung it and a powerful beam of magic shot out.
Lloyd rolled his eyes and a second, before hit, teleported. The spell hit the werewolf, which destroyed it.
Pythor growled and threw the snake sorceress a nasty look. Lloyd quickly appeared behind Harumi and wrapped his arms around her waist. She squealed in shock, and with his last strength teleported to the corridor leading to the exit from the mountain.
- They are heading for the exit!!! Follow them, fools!!! - roared the Crystal King.
The werewolves, Pythor and Aspheera moved down the corridor after the fleeing couple. Lloyd pressed the jade on his chest and the Oni mask disappeared.
The last corridor led to an observation deck, which was located in the mouth of a dragon carved into the mountain. Lloyd looked out from the edge down to where there was a coniferous forest and a large lake.
He swallowed and leaned against a tooth, wiping sweat from his forehead. Harumi looked at him dully, as if she was dazed or awake for a moment.
- How do we escape now? How do you want to escape? - she asked.
Lloyd looked over his shoulder at her and looked down at the lake. He looked at his hand, trying to teleport, but couldn't.
- I can't teleport. We have to jump into the water.
- No. If we jump, we will die. - She denied it, standing next to him.
Lloyd looked at her almost dismissively, that supposedly jumping from such a great height is not difficult. He caught her with his arms around her waist, and she gasped in shock.
- Well... It would be better not to. - he said.
The werewolf army came running and Lloyd, along with Harumi, jumped down. Pythor and Aspheera tore through them and looked down, as Harumi and Lloyd hit the water.
- Kill. - growled Pythor and he and Aspheera teleported to the shore of the lake.
The werewolf army and Serpentine behind their commanders, jumped down into the water without hesitation, hitting the bottom like stones in the water.
A/N: All in all, they are stones.
Lloyd quickly grabbed the unconscious Harumi around the waist and pulled her ashore. He fell belly down against the sand and was panting heavily. Harumi began to cough and looked up from under her wet hair at him.
- We made it... did we escape? - she asked confused.
Lloyd giggled weakly and pushed his wet curls away from his face.
- Yeah... now only to return to the base and explain... - began Lloyd, when suddenly a blade was pointed in front of his face.
They both gasped, when they saw Aspheera and Pythor looking at them with a cold stare.
- That's the end of the game... get back to the King. Immediately. - hissed Aspheera to Harumi.
- Never. I won't let you take her away. - growled Lloyd.
- Kill. - said Pythor and swung his Nunchucks.
They looked behind them and saw werewolves emerging from the water with weapons. They looked at each other with fear and embraced each other with their arms.
Suddenly, one werewolf was hit by a ball of plasma that destroyed it. They all looked up and saw the Night Fury, on whose back sat the familiar green knight.
Behind the Night Fury came more colorful dragons. It was the League of Heroes! Aspheera and Pythor looked at each other worriedly, when suddenly the familiar figure of a humanoid dragon with its blade drawn jumped behind them.
Lloyd smiled and sighed in relief. (Y/N) pointed with a blade at Aspheera and Pythor.
- You are the ones, who don't make me kill you. - she said.
Behind her, knights in armor and shields emerged from the forest, ready to fight, while Aaron was as air support along with ninjas. What's more, a large white wolf with eyes as blue as the clearest water appeared on a rock next to the two Serpentine, growling at them.
- That's the end of the fun. - she said (Y/N) and sent them a menacing look, spreading her wings.
