Chapter 38: Give them their peace

Saber and Aya walked through the dark graveyard so Saber could see the ghosts and be able to control them. Saber looked around fearfully.

- Okay, no ghosts. We are going back. - He said quickly and turned was back to Clevertus.

- Don't be so sure. You go, but alone. - Said Aya and teleported back to Clevertus.

Saber's eyes widened and he turned to where Aya was, but she was gone.

- Are you leaving me here!?

He received no answer and groaned.

- I take that as a yes. Well.... this for (Y/N). You can do it Saber. - He swallowed his fear and started walking hesitantly through the cemetery.

He didn't know, that the spirits of dead people were following him. Saber heard a strange sound and stood as if he were struck by it. He felt a presence behind him and it was not Aya at all. He swallowed and turned his head in their direction, only to scream.

Five ghosts with scary faces were hovering over him and looking at him with some hope in their eyes, but also hunger. Saber scowled and began to shake, staring at them in horror.

The ghosts made strange sounds similar to spider hisses and moaned. Saber smiled crookedly, then screamed and started running as hard as he could through the cemetery and the ghosts chased after him.

- Leave me alone, what have I done to you!?

He began to run between the monuments and streets to lose the ghosts, but they still kept pace with him.

- Where are you Aya, when you need her!!!?

Saber turned his head to the ghosts and didn't look where he was going, and as a result hit a large monument. The impact stunned him and he fell on his back, with a dizzy look at the ghosts that were hovering above him.

He quickly got up and scowled at the ghosts, who were preparing to attack, but suddenly Aya appeared and shone a golden light toward the ghosts, forcing them to retreat and whine.

Saber sighed in relief.

- Thank God, you are.

- Why are you running away from them? - Aya asked, looking at him over her shoulder.

- Well, I don't know... Maybe because they are dead people who want to eat me!!!? - he replied sarcastically.

- This is no time for sarcasm, Saber. Don't run away from them, they are supposed to be afraid of you, not the other way around. You must face them and unite with your power. You must learn to control them and send them back where they belong.

- Which is supposedly how! They are ghosts!

- You must overcome your fear. You are afraid that they are going to possess you, just like Morro possessed Lloyd, but that is not true! They want you to help them achieve eternal peace. That's all they want, they don't want to wander the earth anymore just to rest.

- That's all there is to it!? Then why are they hissing at me and staring at me like that! - he shouted and looked into the face of the ghosts.

- Never mind why! You have to face them! You are not afraid to try, but you are afraid to fail us! You are afraid of failing, but I have complete faith that you will succeed! Everyone has faith in you.

- Really?

- Yes. Okay, now I'm out of your way and you.... harness the spirits. On the count of three! One... two... three!!!

The light in Aya's hand went out and she moved out of the way of the ghosts on her way to Saber. Saber looked at them with determination and stood boldly. The ghosts rushed at him, and Saber let out a very loud roar, forcing them to stop.

The ghosts looked at him surprised and stood in an even line. Saber roared again, and the ghosts stepped back in fear.

Saber took steps forward and let out a loud roar, and the ghosts retreated a decent distance.

- Okay, ghosts and phantoms. I am a medium and I am here to help you. That's what you want right? Peace and quiet?

The ghosts looked at each other and nodded.

- Okay...I'll give you peace.

Saber raised his two front limbs and closed his eyes. Aya smiled slightly with pride.

, "Focus on your abilities". , ''Imagine that you open a gate for these spirits and they will go through it. '' - he said to himself.

The lion opened his eyes and looked at his paws with determination as he clenched them. His paws began to shine with a blue light the harder he focused on them. Saber could feel the energy coursing through him. He looked at the spirits with a smile and roared loudly while spreading both paws wide. A wave came out of his paws, which flew to the ghosts and made the ghosts glow brightly with blue light, after which they dispersed and disappeared.

Saber stood on all four paws and smiled with satisfaction. He looked at Aya, who nodded to him with a smile.

- You made it. The spirits are now at peace. I'm proud of you, now let's get on with the rescue (Y/N).

- Yeah. Let's get out of here.

The two began running down the alley toward Clevertus.

= Stixx =

Peacebreaker wrote on the wooden walls of the house using chalk, devising a plan to defeat the ninjas.

(Y/N) looked at her with bored eyes, sitting on the floor. Peacebreaker's nose twitched when she smelled a scent. Corruption growled anxiously sniffing the air. She spread her wings and slowly walked outside.

- Something wrong? - asked (Y/N).

- Silence. Something here... Above the clouds... flies... dragon? - asked Peacebreaker and looked up at the sky.

They both looked up, trying to spot some kind of dragon in the overcast sky, but there was no one. Corruption clenched her jaw and let out a confused groan. Suddenly her eyes narrowed as she heard roars and flashes of crystal between the clouds.

Peacebreaker growled. It was undoubtedly a dragon. A crystal dragon. Above the clouds it flew and circled above her.

- They sent it at me. - Peacebreaker hissed.

- Who? - asked (Y/N).

- What do you think!? Crystal King. - retorted Peacebreaker, staring at the dragon.

The hunter also noticed her and smiled mischievously, as he circled above her. He had finally found his prey. The dragon squinted and stopped over Peacebreaker, looking at her. The beast roared loudly, drawing the attention of the residents, who looked up at the sky worriedly. Peacebreaker growled and drew her sword, she was ready to kill the animal.

The dragon dived down at high speed to catch the corruption in its claws, but missed when Peacebreaker leapt into space. It moved to the roof and stared at the reptile, which returned to attack again.

The dragon fired a beam of crystals that were as sharp as a blade. Before it soared into the sky again, it struck a wooden hut with its stone head, which collapsed on impact.

Peacebreaker growled.

- Only two can play this game.

She quickly took to the air after the dragon and decided to knock it out of the sky and smash it.

The dragon circled her among the clouds, before appearing in front of her and firing another beam of crystals. Peacebreaker summoned a magic shield and protected herself. In revulsion, she jumped and charged her fists with energy. She appeared in front of the beast's muzzle and punched it repeatedly, before kicking it and knocking it back.

The dragon roared in pain and growled angrily. He fired a bolt of crystals again, only to be hit by corruption and turned into a crystal.

Peacebreaker jumped and appeared at the side of the beast. She moved and with her legs hit it, pushing it.

She jumped again and repeated the muzzle attack and hit it in the mouth with her tail.

The dragon roared again and flew high into the clouds. Peacebreaker looked behind him, but suddenly he appeared behind her and caught her in the jaw. He locked her in his maw and stopped. Peacebreaker forcibly opened his jaw, saving herself from being eaten, and jumped out of his maw.

- Something has gone wrong for you, reptile. - she sneered at him.

Corruption jumped again, but no longer appeared. The dragon furiously breathed crystals around him. Peacebreaker appeared on its back and with her fists began to hit the dragon's stone body hard to inflict damage. The dragon whined and roared in pain and tried to throw her off, but to no avail.

- You can't handle yourself, dragon. - hissed Peacebreaker with a smile.

Finally, she charged her fist with energy and hit the beast's head hard. A red aura, spread throughout its body. The dragon began to shake and its crystal wings and spikes began to spark.

Peacebreaker jumped off its back and watched with satisfaction as the dragon began to lose its power. In a short time, all power left the dragon, which let out its last roar before becoming just a dumb stone sculpture. It began to fall to the ground and smashed into a building and the pier below it and sank to the bottom of the water.

Peacebreaker laughed under her breath and landed on the roof of the building. She put her hands on her hips and stood proudly, looking down at the water where the dragon had sunk.

Stixx residents began to panic and scream, when they saw the whole incident and the humanoid beast on the roof of the house.

Peacebreaker saw the panic and groaned.

- And same thing again. I'm disappearing from here.

Peacebreaker jumped in space again, this time to the recently abandoned container warehouse. She sat down on the top of the stacked containers and leaned against the wall. She sighed and closed her eyes.

- Back in the city. I have to start to make sure this council and the ninjas find me. Most of all, I need to plan my revenge. And you Crystal King, think of something better than some stone dragons.
