Chapter 34: End of cooperation
Peacebreaker returned to the temple after her successful bloody action and sat down in the grand dining room at the stone table. Halfway there, she managed to drink half of the expensive alcohol, she had stolen.
Despite drinking a lot of alcohol, Corruption didn't feel the least bit drunk. Just very aroused and excited, by what had happened.
Pythor and Aspheera, seeing her return to the base, immediately went to her and sat close to her.
- How did the action go? - Pythor asked, looking at Peacebreaker's bloody suit.
- Exquisitely. Hook, line and sinker. Straight and fast, no one survived. - she replied, almost automatically.
- Excellent. Now you won't complain about being bored anymore. - said Aspheera.
- I didn't say that. True, the action was successful, but I didn't say anything about not wanting to continue doing it. I'll keep doing it, killing, destroying and robbing the world of liquor. That is my goal. - Peacebreaker replied, taking a big sip of alcohol.
- And taking over power and responsibilities as a council member?
- I don't want to do it. As they say... I'm in the middle of it. It does happen what it wants. I don't care.
- The king won't be happy with your attitude. - hissed Pythor.
- And what do I care about this lizard! I am Peacebreaker, the dark side, the demon, the corruption! I obey only myself, I'm not going to listen to the orders of some crystal guy. - groaned Peacebreaker in a drunken tone.
- You are talking like druk. You should leave the liquor already. - said Aspheera, reaching for the bottle, but only received a slap on the hand from Peacebreaker.
- I'm not talking like drunk! I'm tired of sitting in this hole and waiting for no one knows what! I'm going to fight ninjas and absolutely nothing will stop me. - growled Peacebreaker, thundering Serpentine with her eyes.
- So what? You're defying the Crystal King!? - Pythor hissed, rising from his seat and looking cold at Peacebreaker.
Peacebreaker abruptly got up from her seat and looked daggers at them.
- Yes! I have no intention of listening to some demon from the crystal! And those, who blindly believe in his plan are fools! - growled Peacebreaker at full volume, until it echoed.
- WHAT AM I HEARING HERE!!! - roared the King loudly, opening the door wide and with loud steps, walking towards the council.
The other council members fearfully followed him.
Aspheera and Pythor quickly moved out of the way of the king, and he stood Peacebreaker in the face and looked daggers at her. Peacebreaker boldly reciprocated his gaze, and the ghost of (Y/N) behind her looked on with a dropped jaw.
- You defy me, Peacebreaker. - hissed the king.
- Yes. I don't give a damn about your bullshit plan! You do nothing, but sit on that royal ass of yours and wait, instead of acting! I've had enough of this!
- You have no right to defy me! You belong to me. I freed you, you obey me and you will do what I order you to do!!
- You have no rights to me. You freed me, that's a fact, but that doesn't mean I'm at your every beck and call.
- What does that mean!?
- It means, that I don't give a damn, what you do and how you conduct these people and creatures. I am me and I have no intention of listening to you.
- You owe everything to me!!! If it weren't for me, you'd still be locked in that hole, a child's mind in an adult's body with no experience! I gave you power and freedom!!! You owe it to me you know!!!?
- NO!!! I AM PEACEBREAKER!!! I am a demon, a dark side, a dark creature!!! I am not a pawn and I will not submit to you or anyone else!!!!
Peacebreaker roared in his face and pushed him away, then disappeared in a blue streak, teleporting to no where.
King clenched his hands into fists and clenched his jaw. He growled deeply, before roaring angrily, shaking the temple. The council looked at each other concerned. The king turned to them and looked daggers.
- You are to find her and bring her to me. Alive. I don't care how you do it, you have to do it, or I will kill you. No one will betray me, especially some naive lizard. I will find a way for her, to die the most painful death possible. Understood.
The council nodded and the king quickly left the dining room and went to the throne room, planning to kill Peacebreaker.
- Jesus, Peacebreaker. What have you done. - Pythor said in a worried tone.
- You heard the king. Track her down and bring her in. - ordered Harumi, clenching her jaw.
Meanwhile, Peacebreaker teleported to the streets of Ninjago and walked down the sidewalk with quick, angry steps. There was a grimace on her face and in her hand she held the liquor she had pilfered again from some store.
The ghost of (Y/N) was trodding on the corruption's heels, looking at her with bored eyes.
- You acted bravely, defying the king, you know?
- So what? Now, they will pursue me until they don't kill me. Great success for me.
- We have the power of teleportation. We'll manage.
- I can't rely on power all the time. They will deplete and, what if I come to fight them later. I will fall one hundred percent.
- Right. What do we do now?
- We look for a hiding place and plan to destroy the ninjas, why?
- You know, I thought after all this...we'll go back to the ninjas?
Peacebreaker stopped abruptly, widening her eyes, followed by a snort and began to walk on.
- You think, I'm going to throw myself into ninjas after this! Not live to see yours, ghost bitch! Now I'm on my side and I'll fight anything, that gets in my way.
- You know, I...
- Shut up already! I won't do anything! As long as I have the power, I'll do what I want and I won't listen to a phantom, that you can't even see!
- Sure... It won't be long now, Peacebreaker. I'll be free and go back to my family... and to Aaron. Just wait. - whispered (Y/N), clenching her hands into fists.
Peacebreaker looked around and jumped into space again, this time away from Ninjago City. To the Stixx. The burrow, that the poor call a city.
The ghost of (Y/N) disappeared with the jump, and she looked around puzzled at her surroundings.
- Stixx? What are we doing here?
- Obvious. I'm hiding here, until I gain energy to help me fight the ninjas.
- So you're looking for a hiding place, to drink for your problems and contemplate, what you've done?
- Exactly. Here no one will look for me, plus no one will ask questions. You pay and you have it. Here, no one even, pays attention to appearance, so camouflage won't be necessary for me.
- Well, I don't know.
- Just shut up. Disappear if you don't like it. I just want to drink myself into unconsciousness and find some modest corner.
- Are you going to be a sad, homeless drunk?
- No, idiot! Here, there are many abandoned places, because people are leaving this city of the poor in large numbers. And they are dead and don't want to live in a place where... everything is falling apart.
Peacebreaker explained, avoiding a crack in the boards and falling into the water. People were indeed not paying attention to the passing Peacebreaker.
Corruption found the abandoned, strangely well-preserved domain of some family that had... most likely passed away. Peacebreaker looked around with a smile and sat down on a dusty wooden chair.
(Y/N) looked around the place and approached the fireplace, which had a picture of a herd of horses on it.
- You were right. These houses are abandoned and in good condition.
- Do you see? Now, this is my resting lair.
Peacebreaker happily stretched out in a chair and put her legs on the table, next to the vodka. She put her hands behind her head and closed her eyes. She opened her hand and shot out a fireball, lighting a fire by the fireplace. The wood was slightly charred, but it was suitable for another fire.
- There's nothing like it at home. - Peacebreaker said, reaching for a bottle of liquor.
She took a big sip of the drink and sighed, closing her eyes.
- Let it happen what it wants. As long as I have alcohol... I'm calm. I guess that's my new way of calming down, you know?
- Whatever you say. Me, I hope it doesn't affect my self.
Peacebreaker giggled in response and took another sip of her drink.
