Vacation putting out fires -1
To everyone who lives in a place with the fires.... Stay safe
I know I will
Bcz now it's so bad it's spread
😭
Anyway
" IT'S THE MIDDLE OF JANUARY WHY ARE THERE SO MANY FIRES?!" Annie yelled as she turned the hydrant on.
" BECAUSE IT'S DRY IN JANUARY HERE THAT'S WHY!" Mia replied, using her water powers to try and contain the fires.
Emma was flapping her paper fan. " We need sand!"
" Sand?!" Annie cried. " Where do we find sand?!"
Zane, who has just frozen some fires, turned to the three.
" I suggest looking for a beach." He said, his tone calm and collected.
" And how are we supposed to do that, huh?" Mia asked sarcasticly. " Carry buckets of sand here?"
" It appears we have no buckets."
Mia just slapped her head.
Jay and Kai were throwing buckets of water. " Nya!" Jay yelled. " Over here!"
" I'm coming!" Nya yelled back.
Cole rammed his hands into the earth, creating a wall for the fire.
" That should hold them off until we can put em out."
Lloyd was calling all the fire stations he could think of. " Yes.... Hello..... Yeah, there's a big fire here.... Mhm.... Yeah... Yep...."
Blackie, who was usually doing nothing, was helping Emma with the hoses.
" COME ON PEOPLE MOVE IT!" he shouted.
Mia wiped her brow, glaring at the relentless blaze. “We need more water pressure over here!” she barked, her voice carrying over the crackling flames. Her water powers were doing their best, but even her control had limits.
Jay stumbled over with an empty bucket, panting. “Mia! Any chance you can refill this magically?”
Mia rolled her eyes and quickly summoned a burst of water to fill it. “There. Now go before the fire gets worse!”
Blackie, who was manning the hoses with Emma, let out a growl. “This would be so much easier if humans could organize themselves properly!”
“Not now, Blackie!” Emma snapped, gripping the hose tighter as the stream of water blasted toward the flames.
“Zane!” Kai yelled as he struggled to carry a heavy bucket. “Any chance you can freeze a firebreak here?!”
Zane, calm as ever, nodded. “Affirmative.” With a swift motion, he unleashed a sheet of ice that halted the fire’s advance temporarily.
Meanwhile, Annie was frantically trying to work the hydrant. “Why is this so hard?!” she groaned, her face red with effort.
“It’s because you’re turning it the wrong way!” Mia shouted back, exasperated.
As Lloyd continued making phone calls, his frustration mounted. “How is it possible that every fire station is already occupied?! This is insane!”
“Focus, Lloyd!” Cole called out, reinforcing his earthen wall. “We can’t wait for backup. We’ve got to handle this ourselves!”
Jay stumbled back to Nya’s side, his hands trembling from exhaustion. “This fire feels alive! It’s like it’s fighting us!”
Nya nodded grimly, her focus unwavering as she directed another surge of water. “We’ll fight harder, then. We’re not letting this thing win.”
Despite the dire situation, the team worked tirelessly, their powers and determination keeping the fire at bay. Blackie, uncharacteristically serious, barked orders. “Emma, shift the hose left! Aim for the base of the fire!”
“Got it!” Emma replied, adjusting her aim.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the flames began to die down. The combined efforts of elemental powers, teamwork, and sheer willpower were enough to quell the raging inferno.
As the smoke cleared, the group slumped to the ground, covered in soot and sweat but alive.
“Is it over?” Annie asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“For now,” Mia replied, her eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of another flare-up.
“Good,” Blackie said, collapsing next to Emma. “Because I’m too fabulous for this kind of labor.”
Mia picked her cat up and held him tight. " Good. Now, let's go see why the fire stations are so booked up."
Kai groaned as he collapsed onto the hotel bed. " That took a long time."
Jay nodded, looking at his teammates. " I really didn't expect them to be booked because they were talking to the Queen of Trast.... Rasht..... Uh.... The queen of the place."
Lloyd looked at the door. " Are you sure giving three ten year old girls and a cat a separate room is a good idea?"
Jay collapsed on the bed. " Honestly? Mia's responsible. They'll be fine."
( Meanwhile, in the other room....)
" THIS IS AMAZING!!" Emma cried as she jumped on the bed.
Annie dove for the top bunk. " I call this!"
" I choose bottom!" Blackie exclaimed, jumping.
Mia laughed. " Then I'll share with Blackie. Emma, are you okay sleeping on the trampoline bed?"
Emma's eyes widened with excitement. " YES!!"
Mia laughed as she watched Annje flop onto her bed and pull her phone out, looking at the fire reports. " Well, at least they're under control." Annie sighed in relief.
Mia nodded. " Yeah. Hey, wanna go out for ice cream?"
Emma stopped jumping. " YES! wait, hold on! I need to change!"
As she darted to the bathroom, Annie peeked from the top. " In the middle of Jan?"
Mia looked at her sooty friend. " New plan. First we shower. THEN ice cream."
" Awwwww..." Emma pouted. " I wanted ice cream...."
Mia chuckled and handed Emma her clothes. " Sorry, Em. Bath first."
Back in the first room, the boys could hear faint laughter and muffled chaos coming from the girls' room. Kai raised an eyebrow. "That doesn't sound like fine to me, Jay."
Jay, sprawled on the bed, waved a hand dismissively. "Relax. That's the sound of three kids burning off energy. Totally normal."
Zane, who had been carefully folding his gi, tilted his head. "I must admit, their energy levels after such an exhausting day are impressive."
Kai groaned, rubbing his temples. "Yeah, but what happens when they don't burn it all off? Last time Mia had too much energy, she somehow rigged my car alarm to play some rain song. For three hours."
Lloyd stifled a laugh. "At least she’s creative."
Jay chuckled. "You gotta admit, it’s impressive. Besides, she's probably the one making sure they shower and don’t tear the place apart."
Meanwhile, in the girls’ room, chaos reigned.
Emma, now freshly dressed in a clean set of clothes, was sprawled on the floor in a dramatic pose. "Okay, I'm clean. Now can we go for ice cream?"
Mia rolled her eyes as she ran a comb through her wet hair. "You're not the only one here, Emma. Annie still needs a shower."
From her perch on the top bunk, Annie groaned. "Do I have to? I'm just gonna get sooty again tomorrow!"
Mia gave her a pointed look. "Yes. No one wants to sit next to a walking ash cloud while eating ice cream."
Blackie, lounging on the lower bunk, chimed in, "And let’s be real, Annie. You smell like a campfire that lost a fight."
Annie sighed, reluctantly climbing down. "Fine, but only because I want ice cream." She grabbed her clothes and shuffled to the bathroom.
As the water started running, Emma turned to Mia. "Hey, what flavor are you getting?"
"Chocolate," Mia replied instantly. "Always chocolate."
Blackie stretched lazily. "Vanilla for me. Classic, smooth, and timeless—like me."
Emma giggled. "I'm getting rainbow swirl! It's the best!"
"You're the only person I know who picks ice cream like it's an art project," Mia teased, laughing.
By the time Annie emerged, freshly showered and looking begrudgingly clean, the group was ready to head out.
"Okay!" Mia said, grabbing her wallet. "Ice cream time!"
As they filed out of the room, Blackie paused at the door, looking back at the neatly made beds and the now-clean space. "We should enjoy this calm while it lasts," he muttered.
Mia laughed and nudged him forward. "Come on, Mr. Philosopher. Ice cream’s waiting."
As the group sat at a cozy little table outside the ice cream parlor, Mia licked her chocolate cone thoughtfully while scrolling through the map on her phone. Annie, with her mint chip ice cream, leaned over her shoulder.
"Whatcha looking at?" Annie asked, trying to swipe the screen.
"Places to go," Mia replied, swatting Annie’s hand away. "I already marked the souvenir shop, the toy shop, and... the cat shop. Obviously."
Blackie perked up from his spot on the table, where he was delicately eating a small cup of vanilla ice cream. "A cat shop, you say? Now that sounds like my kind of place. Do they sell cat beds fit for royalty? Because I could use an upgrade."
Emma, who was halfway through her rainbow swirl, gasped. "Ooooh, let’s go to the toy shop first! They might have those squishy stress toys! Or maybe those cool figurines that move when you press a button!"
Mia smirked. "I was thinking the souvenir shop first. We can grab some keepsakes, then hit the toy shop."
"Why not the cat shop first?" Blackie protested. "I’m clearly the star of this operation. Don’t I deserve priority?"
"Patience is a virtue, Blackie," Mia teased.
Annie shrugged. "Honestly, I just want to walk around. The fire reports are quiet, and we’ve got some free time. Might as well explore the town."
Mia nodded. "Exactly. We’re hitting all three. Souvenirs, toys, then cats."
Emma bounced in her seat, nearly spilling her ice cream. "Yay! This is the best day ever! First ice cream, then shopping!"
Blackie sighed dramatically. "Fine, but only because I’m curious if this cat shop lives up to my high standards."
Mia rolled her eyes playfully. "I’ll make sure they roll out the red carpet for you, your highness."
As they finished their ice cream and tossed the napkins away, Mia folded the map and stood up. "Alright, girls—and cat—let’s move out! Souvenirs await!"
