Also DumbassWriter17 and The_Sage_Ninja_Morro hello guys!!

Mia peeked into the kitchen. " Annie, is your pie ready yet?"

Annie turned. " You can not rush good taste!" She mock scolded, holding a spatula.

" And you can not rush good design!" Emma added with a frosting bag in her hand. " Don't worry, Mimi. Misty'll love it."

" Will one of you two please tell me WHO Misty is?" Annie asked as she crossed her arms.

" You remember Misty. Red hair, nice girl, hates bugs, loves dogs, ECT. ECT." Mia trailed off.

" Her cousin is just the coolest!" Emma gushed. " Remember? And she even gave Mia the nickname ' Piper'! Isn't that cool!"

Annie's eyes widened. " Ohhhh, right! I remember now!"

Mia grinned. " She's gonna be here any minute, and it's gonna be great! She's two months older than me, so every time she comes over she teaches me all these cool stuff! She really wanted to meet you two, so I decided this would be the perfect time!"

Blackie yawned and strolled in. " Is the girl with white hair and wrinkles on her face coming over?"

Annie choked on her breath.

Mia's eye twitched.

Emma burst into laughter.

" B... Blackie.....!"

Mia slapped her head. " Really? Don't encourage him!"

" I can't help it he's too.... Too funny!"

Annie opened her mouth, but the oven dinged time, and Annie ran to get the oven mitts.

" One fresh baked pie, ready to be eaten!" Annie announced.

Emma eyed it hungrily. " Wow! I hope your cousin comes soon!"

" She will. Jay's picking her up from the airport." Mia said casually.

" Ninjago has an airport?"

Annie nodded. " They finished building it a few days ago. Only few people know of it."

" Oh. Now I know."

Suddenly, the front door opened, and Jay called, " she's heeeere!"

Mia squeeled. " Misty!"

She jumped from her chair and ran to the front door, where a red haired girl was grinning from ear to ear

" Mia!" Misty exclaimed as she ran to Mia and hugged her. " It's been so long!"

" You're telling me! It's been two years now!*

" Fells like millions. Let me take a good look at you!" Misty pulled back and looked Mia over, while Mia looked Misty over. She let her hair grow, and she had more of a tan than Mia remembered. Misty's hair was wavy, and she was tall.

" You certainly look older." Misty commented.

" You too!"

Emma ran to the living room. " Oh my goodness hello is your name Misty my name is Emma and I'm a friend of Mia's and she told me you like animals do you like cats I like cats I have a cat named Chico and he's so cute he's also a tabby and oh I have a husky named Morro and he's a ghost an-"

" Alright, that's enough!" Annie said as she walked into the room. " Hello, Misty. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

Misty smiled. " Hi, Annie! Hi Emma! You two look way older than I last remember you. I hope this one hasn't been giving you much trouble."

Annie shook her head. " Not at all! She's really good!"

Mia grinned. " See?"

Mia carried a tray of tea into the living room with a big grin, trying to look as poised as possible. She placed the tray down carefully, pouring tea into each cup with exaggerated precision.

“There we go, tea for everyone!” she announced proudly, handing a cup to Misty, Annie, and Emma.

Misty took a sip, smiling. “Thank you, Mia! You’re really growing up, aren’t you?”

Trying her best to look mature, Mia cleared her throat and crossed her legs, giving a serious nod. “Well, I do try. Now… let’s talk… politics.” She said the last word with an air of importance, raising an eyebrow like she’d seen in movies.

Annie bit her lip, trying not to laugh, and Emma nearly choked on her tea. Misty’s eyes widened as she stifled a giggle. “Politics, huh?” Misty asked, playing along. “Alright, what’s on your mind?”

Mia furrowed her brow, clearly fishing for anything that might sound political. “Well… uh, the new airport! That’s a political topic, right? Like, who decided it should be built? And, uh… why did only a few people know about it?”

Annie nodded thoughtfully, joining in on the fun. “Good question, Mia. You know, airports bring lots of changes. Maybe the leaders of Ninjago wanted to keep it small at first to avoid, uh, unnecessary drama?”

“Exactly!” Mia replied, clearly pleased with herself. “Plus, with all the ninja missions, I think it makes sense to have a hidden airport. That way, it’s more mysterious.”

Misty laughed, nodding. “Absolutely. A secret airport for secret ninja business. Very, uh, political of you to bring up, Mia!”

Mia leaned back, clearly satisfied with her "grown-up" discussion. Blackie trotted in, unimpressed, and curled up at her feet. "Hmph," he muttered, “You’re too young to talk about all this ‘politics’ nonsense.”

“Oh, what do you know?” Mia said, giving him a gentle nudge with her foot.

Misty leaned down, smiling. “Hello, Blackie!” she said warmly.

Mia scooped Blackie up, holding him out in Misty’s direction. “Say hi, Blackie!” she encouraged with a grin.

Blackie squinted, giving Misty a long, scrutinizing look. “Huh. I thought you’d have a lot more white hair, more wrinkles… maybe even a cane,” he said flatly.

Emma choked, sputtering her tea everywhere, and gasped, “Blackie!”

Misty blinked, taken aback for a moment, then burst out laughing. “Well, I guess that’s one way to greet someone!”

Mia shook her head, half-scolding her cat. “Blackie, be nice! Misty’s awesome.”

Blackie tilted his head, looking from Misty to Mia with a dramatic sigh. “I’m only being honest.”

Annie chuckled, reaching over to give Misty a reassuring pat. “That’s just Blackie’s way of saying he likes you. In his own… unique way.”

“Very unique!” Misty laughed. “I’m honored, Blackie.” She gave him a playful scratch behind the ear, which, to Mia’s surprise, he actually leaned into, looking almost pleased.

“See?” Mia grinned. “I told you Misty’s the best!”

As soon as Misty settled in, Emma’s excitement burst out. She leaned forward, eyes wide, and began firing off questions in rapid succession.

“So, Misty, what’s your favorite animal? Do you like big cities or small towns? What do you think of Ninjago so far? Do you have a favorite color? How do you feel about cats? I heard you’re into art, but are you more into painting or drawing? What do you think about ghosts? Ever met one? If you could be any kind of flower, what would you be?”

Misty’s eyes lit up, just as animated. “Oh, definitely dogs are my favorite! I mean, I don’t dislike cats, of course, but you know how some people are just dog people? I love the energy of big cities, but small towns have this charm, too, right? Ninjago is amazing so far! And favorite color, oh, that’s tough—I like green, but red is also awesome. About ghosts, I mean, I haven’t exactly met one… well, not that I know of!”

They continued, each answer sparking more questions, each question leading to an even longer answer. The words flew between them faster and faster, each of them talking with wide gestures, hardly pausing for breath. They dived deep into their favorite foods, hobbies, books they’d read, random life experiences, and what it’d be like to travel to other dimensions. Emma went on about her cat, Chico, and how she once tried to dress him in a costume, and Misty launched into a story about a stray dog she’d once befriended.

Meanwhile, Annie had settled back on the couch, her head nodding. Mia tried to keep up at first, listening as hard as she could. But soon, the words just blurred together into a whirl of endless chatter, and Blackie had curled up on her lap, purring, utterly indifferent to the noise. Mia’s eyelids grew heavy, and eventually, she slumped against Annie, dozing off.

Emma and Misty, however, were unstoppable.

“…and then there was this one time I actually tried to bake a pie for my cousin’s birthday, and the whole thing caught on fire!”

" Really?!"

“Oh, that reminds me! I once tried to bake a cake with my cousin, and we mixed up the sugar and the salt—so it was this horrible, salty mess, and we didn’t realize until we served it to everyone!”

“Oh no! I can’t believe you didn’t taste it first!”

“I know, right? Biggest mistake ever!”
