Running from the tiger
" I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A BAD IDEAA!" Maple yelled as she looked back to see the tiger running after them.
" YOU'RE THE ONE WHO WANTED TO SEE ONE!!" Emma replied.
" FORGET IT JUST RUUUUN!" Mia screamed as a leaf hit her face
Flashback
" I've always wanted to see a real life tiger in the wild! This is amazing!" Maple gushed as she snapped pictures of the elegant creatures.
Mia grinned and nodded. " Even Emma wanted to see them."
Emma, who was sketching the creatures, turned and sighed. " Well, they're big kitties. I love kitties."
Back to life
" This is not the same as your house cats, Emma!" Maple cried as they sprinted through the forest, the sound of the tiger’s heavy footsteps growing louder.
" I'M AWARE!" Emma shouted back, clutching her sketchbook tightly. " But they're still cats! Just... bigger."
" OH, COME ON!" Maple shouted, her voice filled with both frustration and fear. " These aren't your cute little kittens, Emma! THIS IS A REAL TIGER!"
" Guys, focus!" Mia yelled, swatting a branch out of her face. " The tiger is catching up!"
Annie, who was a little further ahead, turned back with a panicked expression. " It’s gaining on us, we need to lose it somehow!"
" DON'T SAY THAT OUT LOUD!" Maple screamed, but it was already too late. The tiger let out a mighty roar, its speed increasing as it closed the distance.
" THIS WAS A MISTAKE!" Maple said, already regretting the decision after seeing the tiger up close. " I mean, they're beautiful, but terrifying!"
" Oh, it'll be fine!" Mia insisted, always one to dive into the thrill of the adventure. " What’s the worst that could happen?"
Flashback continued:
Annie has sighed out of relief. " Yeah, Emmy loves 'em."
Emma had just nodded in agreement, not understanding the gravity of the situation. " I just want to get a good sketch of this majestic creature. They’re so... regal."
Back to life
But now, as they dashed through the jungle, every crashing sound behind them felt like it could be their last.
" Mia, you better have a plan!" Maple screamed again, glancing over her shoulder.
" I'M WORKING ON IT!" Mia shouted back, now regretting her decision to lead the charge into the tiger’s territory.
" WE’RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!" Annie cried as she pushed through the thick underbrush.
The group kept running, not daring to stop, their breaths coming in short, frantic gasps as the tiger's roar echoed through the jungle.
" Okay, I’ve got a plan!" Mia said suddenly. " We’ll make it to that cliff up ahead. There’s a rope bridge!"
" What?!" Maple’s eyes widened in horror. " A rope bridge?! Are you out of your mind?"
" It’s either that or become tiger lunch!" Mia snapped, not looking back.
" Okay, fine!" Maple groaned, resigned to the idea.
They pushed forward, running faster now, the sound of the tiger’s pursuit growing closer.
Back for round two?
