And that's Jay getting offended and Kai enjoying.
Anyway
" Mia! Have you seen Emma?!" Morro asked as he burst into her room.
" Not since yesterday. Why?" She asked, turning to face the frantic ghost.
" She's not anywhere! I fear she have..... run away!"
Mia raised a brow. " That's impossible."
" But it happens in movies!"
Mia groaned. " You are just like my brother."
" Well your brother is intelligent!"
Mia groaned. " You guys are absolutely-"
" NYA WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUU?" Jay yelled as he ran through the hallway.
Mia groaned again. " Jay what happened?"
" Nya's missing! I think she's run away."
" Great." Mia said sarcastically. " Two of the people I care for, gone! Presumably ran away."
" WHERE ARE YOU?!" Morro yelled as he dramatically collapsed on Mia's bed.
Blackie sauntered in. " Why is everyone yelling like a banshee all of a sudden?"
" Nya's gone!" Jay yelled as he picked the cat and shook him. " GONE!"
" Emma too!" Morro piped up, his voice muffled by the bedsheet.
" Well, maybe, if you'd calm down, you could find them." Blackie said as he jumped to Mia's shoulder.
Mia nodded. " Exactly! Stay calm!"
But they didn't hear.
" SKYYYYLAR?!"
Mia yelled into a pillow out of pure frustration.
" KAI SMITH GET HERE RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" Blackie yelled with authority.
Mia raised a brow. " Since when did you start calling him by his full name?"
Blackie looked at her. " Sometimes you have to take drastic measures, dearie."
Kai trooped in, looking more stressed than anything in the world.
Mia sat him down on the bed and stood back, hands on hips. " O-"
" RUMI?!"
Soon, Lloyd, Morro, Jay, Kai, and Mia were having a serious chat.
About their wives.
Mia paced around the rom, notebook in hand. " Okay, spill it. When did you last see them?"
" This morning at Ten." They all said in unison.
" O- kay....." Mis scribbled it down. " When did you notice they were gone?"
" Ten minutes after that."
" Where do you think they went?"
" They ran away!" They all bawled.
Mia groaned. " Okay, Blackie, you stay here. I'm gonna try to get them back, wherever they are."
Blackie nodded, and glared at the men in disgust. " This is going to be interesting....."
" Okay...... so they were with their dramatic husbands at Ten, and went missing Ten past ten." Mia mused as she looked over her notes, sipping some coffee and then spitting it out.
" Ugh this is disgusting." Mia grumbled as she wiped the back of her mouth. She put the bottle into her bag and took out another one. She drank the boba with relief, then looked back at her notes.
( Wait how does a boba taste? I've actually never had one
And this is the writter Mia not the OC Mia)
" Huh..... I wonder where they went."
Butterscotch barked, and Mia chuckled as she looked at the retriever.
" Yes, yes, Butterscotch. You're the mystery sniffer dog."
Mia sighed as she recalled the time when Jay got sick, and they had went to the Mechanic to get answers, but they returned to the hospital with more than just info
They came back with a puppy
That puppy fell in love with Mia and her gangs, ( Ninja and Friend), and Wu had allowed them to keep her.
Well actually they alternated.
One week Annie, next Emma, third Mia and fourth Rose.
This week it was Mia's, and she was glad it was.
" Scotch, sniff Emma."
Butterscotch cocked her head. Who?
Mia sighed. " Black haired, brown eyes?"
Confusion.
" Uh.... She likes to paint? And she eats cheese all the time? And her husband is a ghost and she has a cat named Chico?"
When Butterscotch didn't move, Mia sighed and took Emma's sock from her bag.
" Sniff." She commanded.
The dog sniffed, wagged her tail, and jumped around happily.
" Butterscotch, trace the scent."
Butterscotch put her nose to the ground and walked, her tail wagging.
Mia followed, to....
" Emma's house?!" She exclaimed. " What?!"
Ignoring the human, Butterscotch pawed the door. Mia fumbled with a key and unlocked it.
They stepped in, and the companions were struck by the strong scent of perfume.
" Ugh, how much does she wear?" Mia groaned as she sneezed. " Ten? Feels like one thousand."
The dog also sniffed, but walked to the kitchen and pawed the cabinet.
Mia groaned. " We came all this way for FOOD?!
Butterscotch nodded, like she was the smartest dog ever.
Mia sighed in exasperation as she watched Butterscotch paw at the kitchen cabinet, clearly pleased with herself. "We came all this way for food?" she repeated, rubbing her temples. The dog wagged her tail happily, oblivious to Mia's frustration, and looked up at her with those big, innocent eyes.
"You're lucky you're cute," Mia muttered under her breath, crouching down to scratch behind the dog's ears. She then stood up, glancing around the kitchen, her mind racing with confusion. "But if Emma and Nya supposedly ran away, why would Emma be here?"
She looked over her notes again, flipping through the pages. "It doesn't add up..." Mia mumbled to herself. She chewed her bottom lip as she tapped her pen against the notebook. "Maybe they left a clue."
Butterscotch, finished with her self-congratulations, barked again and wagged her tail, looking at Mia expectantly.
"Alright, alright. You think you're on to something, huh?" Mia followed Butterscotch's lead and opened the cabinet the dog had been pawing at. As she did, her eyes widened in disbelief.
Inside the cabinet was... a picnic basket. Fully packed. Fresh food, neatly arranged, with a note sitting right on top of it. Mia blinked, momentarily stunned, then grabbed the note.
"What's this?" she murmured, unfolding the paper. It was written in Emma’s flowing script.
Gone on a girl’s day out! Needed a break from the dramatic husbands. Be back by sunset. Tell the boys not to freak out! – Emma, Nya, Skylor, Rumi.
Mia’s mouth dropped open as she stared at the note. "A girl’s day?!"
Butterscotch barked in triumph, proud of her find, and Mia couldn’t help but laugh. "Oh, I get it now. They didn’t run away; they just needed some space."
Mia shook her head, grinning. "Those husbands are going to flip."
She grabbed her phone, quickly snapping a picture of the note, and sent it in the group chat with Kai, Jay, Lloyd, and Morro. Within moments, her phone buzzed with responses.
Jay: WHAT?! A girl’s day? Why didn’t they say anything? I was worried sick!!
Kai: They left a note?!
Morro: Does this mean Emma is okay?
Lloyd: * told you guys, Rumi wouldn’t just run away!
Mia chuckled at their reactions, already hearing the collective sighs of relief from the guys. "Boys," she said, shaking her head. "Always so dramatic."
She whistled for Butterscotch. "C'mon, Scotch. We’ve got to head back before those fools tear down the monastery in a panic."
Then she chuckled. " They certainly aren't gonna remember this. They're still panicking, I know it."
As Mia made her way out of the house, the retriever happily trotting alongside her, she couldn't help but laugh again. The husbands had worked themselves into such a frenzy, but all it took was a little dog with a nose for mystery—and a girl’s note—to solve everything.
Back at the monastery, Mia found the group of anxious husbands pacing around, clearly waiting for her to return, as expected. Jay looked like he was about to pass out, and Morro seemed to be contemplating haunting someone just to calm himself down.
"Did you find anything?" Kai asked, stepping forward as soon as Mia entered.
Mia grinned, holding up the note. "Oh, you’re going to love this."
She handed it to him, watching as his eyes scanned the paper. Slowly, a relieved and slightly exasperated smile spread across his face.
"A girl’s day out?" Kai said, incredulous.
Jay grabbed the note from him, reading it over quickly. "They just... left without telling us? I thought Nya was mad at me!"
Morro slumped against the wall, sighing in relief. "Emma is fine," he mumbled, a faint smile crossing his ghostly features.
Lloyd chuckled, shaking his head. "I knew it. Rumi's not the type to just leave without a good reason."
Mia crossed her arms, leaning against the wall with a smug expression. "See? If you guys had just stayed calm and not panicked like headless chickens, you might’ve figured that out."
Kai groaned, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, well... We were worried."
"Clearly," Mia said, rolling her eyes playfully. "But don’t worry, they’ll be back by sunset. Just next time, try not to assume the worst, okay?"
Jay nodded sheepishly, his cheeks a bit red. "Yeah... I'll try."
Mia couldn't help but chuckle as she looked around at the group of relieved but embarrassed husbands. "Honestly, you guys are just as dramatic as the movies."
Blackie, who had been sitting on the window ledge, watching the entire scene unfold with amusement, chimed in. "I could’ve told you all that from the start, but no one listens to the cat."
