Leg- Jay

Amy_NinjagoFan this is also for your brother

Hope his leg gets better!!

Jay let out a relived gasp as he closed the door and dropped onto the ground, leaning against it and taking deep breaths.

That was a close one.

Kai almost found out Jay had hurt his ankle last week.

Thankfully Jay managed to smile and walk away.

Let's just hope Kai would lose interest.

He let his head fall back against the door, exhaling slowly. "Alright, Jay. Just keep acting normal. Kai doesn’t need to know. You got this."

He winced as he shifted his leg. Okay, maybe he didn't have this.

Just as he was about to relax, the door handle jiggled.

"Jay?" Kai’s voice called from the other side. "You good?"

Jay’s eyes widened in panic. "Y-Yeah! Just, uh… meditating!"

There was silence. Then—"Since when do you meditate?"

Jay scrambled to his feet, biting back a groan as his ankle protested. "Since… recently?"

The door swung open.

Jay barely had time to react before Kai stepped in, arms crossed, eyes scanning the room suspiciously. "You’ve been acting weird all week. What’s going on?"

Jay chuckled nervously. "Nothing! Just, uh, self-improvement! Trying to be more… zen?"

Kai raised an eyebrow. "Zen?"

Jay nodded rapidly. "Yup! Inner peace, focus, balance—ow!"

He had taken an involuntary step back, and his ankle screamed in protest.

Kai’s eyes narrowed. "Jay… did you just limp?"

Jay froze. "What? No, that was just… a cool ninja move!" He tried to demonstrate, only to nearly fall over.

Kai lunged forward and caught him. "Jay, what did you do?"

"Nothing!"

Kai looked down. "Dude. Your ankle is swollen."

Jay groaned. "Dang it."

Kai gave him a flat look. "Sit down."

Jay hesitated. "But—"

"Sit."

With a defeated sigh, Jay dropped onto the bed. Kai knelt in front of him, carefully lifting his ankle. Jay sucked in a breath as Kai examined it.

Kai shook his head. "Jay, how long has it been like this?"

Jay looked away. "…A week?"

"A week?! Are you serious?"

Jay winced at Kai’s tone. "Look, I didn’t wanna make a big deal out of it—"

"You didn’t wanna make a big deal out of this?" Kai gestured to the very obviously swollen ankle. "Jay, you need to rest, not run around like everything’s fine!"

Jay muttered, "Thought I could handle it."

Kai sighed, standing up. "Yeah, well, you didn’t. Now stay put while I get ice. And don’t even think about moving."

Jay huffed. "No promises."

Kai shot him a look. "Jay, I mean it. If I come back and you’ve even breathed in the direction of trouble, I’m tying you to the bed."

Jay blinked. "Wow. Kinda extreme."

Kai smirked. "I take my medical duties very seriously."

Jay sighed, flopping back onto the bed. "Fine. But if I get bored, I’m calling Cole in here to entertain me."

Kai snorted. "That’s your punishment, not mine."

As Kai left to get the ice, Jay groaned. "Man, I really hate when he’s right."
