Jay's Arm

Hey guys!

This is just for Amy_NinjagoFan's little brother

Bcz I know what it's like to think of yourself like that

Even till now I think like that 😭

.... Might also be the reason why I developed my sorry habit

Believe me my sorry habit is even in real life

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Anyway

Jay looked at his swollen arm and contemplated his best options.

One he could keep it secret and prove he was tough.

And two he could tell Kai and risk getting laughed at.

.... He chose the first.

He climbed into bed, curled up under his blanket, and tried to sleep, hugging his arm close to his chest.

Unfortunately, though, life had other plans.

The door opened, and a voice said, " what's the matter now?"

Jay stiffened. " Go away, Kai."

Kai stood in the doorway, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth as he crossed his arms. "You know, I can hear your heart racing from here. It's kind of hard to ignore, Jay," he said, his tone playful but laced with concern. He leaned against the doorframe, eyes narrowing as he took in the way Jay was curled up, his arm clearly tucked close to his chest, hidden beneath the covers.

Jay turned his face into his pillow, hoping that if he just ignored him, Kai would leave. "I'm fine," he mumbled into the fabric, not wanting to admit there was anything wrong. "Seriously, go away."

Kai raised an eyebrow, pushing off from the doorframe. He stepped into the room, carefully shutting the door behind him. "Yeah, sure, you're fine. That’s why you’re hugging your arm like it’s the last thing you'll ever hold. I’m not stupid, Jay."

Jay’s face flushed, and he clenched his jaw, trying to ignore the fact that his arm throbbed with every movement. "I said I’m fine. Just... tired. Go bother someone else."

"Uh-huh," Kai said skeptically, sitting down on the edge of Jay’s bed. "You’re clearly not fine. Come on, Jay, talk to me." He leaned in a little, his gaze softening. "What happened to your arm? You didn’t even mention it earlier."

Jay gritted his teeth, clutching the blanket tighter around his shoulders. He didn’t want to make it a big deal. "Nothing, really," he lied, his voice cracking just slightly. "I just... hurt it, that’s all. No big deal."

Kai wasn’t buying it. He reached over, gently pulling the blanket aside to reveal Jay’s arm. The bruising was unmistakable, the swelling already noticeable. His eyes widened a little, his face shifting from teasing to concern. "Jay, this is a big deal."

"I told you, I’m fine," Jay repeated, trying to pull his arm back, but Kai held it firmly in place.

Kai sighed, his usual playful demeanor gone. "Come on, Jay. I’m not going to let you tough it out like this." He gently began to examine the swollen area, his fingers working carefully as he assessed the damage. "This looks like it could be more than just a bruise. Did you hurt it during training?"

Jay shook his head, guilt tugging at his chest. He had been too proud to ask for help after he’d taken that fall, and now it was too late to hide it. "I didn’t want to bother anyone," he muttered, not looking Kai in the eye. "I didn’t want you to laugh at me."

Kai’s expression softened even further, and he shook his head. "Jay, I’m not gonna laugh at you." His voice was calm, reassuring. "You’re my brother-in-law, okay? We take care of each other. But you have to be honest with me."

Jay didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he bit his lip, trying to keep the frustration from bubbling up. Finally, he let out a long breath and reluctantly confessed, "I thought I could just sleep it off, but it’s worse now."

Kai nodded, reaching for a medical kit that he kept nearby. "I’m glad you finally said something." He began to carefully wrap Jay’s arm in a bandage, speaking in a calm, steady voice. "You know, you don’t always have to be the tough guy. It’s okay to ask for help sometimes, you know?"

Jay’s eyes lingered on Kai’s hands as they worked, his mind racing. "Yeah, I guess... I just didn’t want to look weak."

Kai chuckled softly, glancing up at him. "Jay, showing that you need help isn’t weakness. It’s strength. You don’t have to do everything on your own."

Jay’s shoulders relaxed a bit, and he exhaled slowly. "I guess... I never really thought about it like that."

After a moment, Kai finished bandaging Jay’s arm and gave him a gentle pat on the shoulder. "There. You should be good. But you need to rest it, okay?"

Jay nodded slowly, finally letting himself lean back into his pillow. "Thanks, Kai."

Kai gave him a warm smile, his playful side creeping back into his voice. "And next time, just tell me if something’s wrong. I’m not going to laugh at you. Promise."

Jay couldn’t help but grin, the tension finally easing from his body. "Alright, alright," he said, now fully understanding what Kai had meant. "But only if you stop saying 'I told you so.'"

Kai winked, standing up to leave. "No promises."
