" Mia, what are you doing?!" Jay asked as he rubbed his eyes one early morning, leaning on the doorframe.
" Cleanin'. Why?"
Jay groaned. " Sis, you're cleaning the bathroom at six in the morning?"
Mia nodded as she reached for the spray. " Yep! The bathrooms ain't gonna clean themselves!"
Jay grabbed the spray from her reach. " You're taking a day off today." He said firmly.
Mia looked up and him. " What?! Why?"
Jay sighed, putting the bottle on the counter and picking his sister up as she washed her hands. " Because you've been awake since six for two weeks now! You always take the missions, you always clean the monastery. I'm calling the girls."
Mia groaned. " Come on, Jay. Think about it. Can you really deprive me of doing a good deed?"
Jay looked at her, square in the eye. " Yes."
Mia squirmed in Jay's arms, clearly not happy with the idea of taking a break. "But I like doing it! It keeps me busy, and besides, it's not like anyone else is jumping up to do the chores around here!"
Jay sighed and set her down gently. "That's the problem, Mia. You're doing everything. It's okay to take a break sometimes, you know?"
Mia crossed her arms, pouting. "I'm fine! I don't need a break."
Jay raised an eyebrow, amused by her stubbornness. "Oh really? Fine, let's test that theory. When was the last time you slept in past six?"
Mia blinked, glancing at the floor as she thought. "Uhh... maybe... two weeks ago?"
"Exactly," Jay said, folding his arms. "You're running yourself ragged, and if you keep this up, you're going to burn out. It's not a competition to see how much you can do."
Mia huffed, leaning against the sink. "I'm not gonna burn out. I'm tough."
Jay smiled softly, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You're the toughest person I know, Mia. But even tough people need rest."
Mia sighed, looking up at him with a begrudging expression. "So... you're really calling the girls?"
Jay nodded. "Yep. Annie and Emma are coming over, and they're taking you out for the day."
Mia's eyes widened. "No! Jay, I can't! What about the missions? What about—"
"I'll handle the missions," Jay interrupted, holding up a hand to stop her protest. "And Cole's taking over the cleaning today. You don't have to worry about anything."
Mia groaned, clearly unhappy but knowing she wouldn't win this one. "Fine," she muttered, crossing her arms. "But only because I don't want you all messing things up while I'm gone."
Jay chuckled, ruffling her hair. "That's the spirit. Now go get ready—Emma's gonna be here soon."
Mia stomped off toward her room, muttering under her breath. "I swear, if Cole messes up the kitchen again, I'm never taking a day off."
Jay shook his head, watching her go with a fond smile. "She'll thank me later."

Jay stood at the doorframe of the bathroom again, arms crossed, as he caught Mia mid-spray on the mirror. He raised an eyebrow. "Mia... what are you doing now?"
Mia froze, the bottle of cleaner still in her hand, her eyes darting toward Jay with a sheepish smile. "Uh... nothing?"
Jay sighed, walking over to her and gently taking the spray bottle from her hand. "Sis, seriously? You were supposed to be getting ready, not cleaning again."
Mia awkwardly scratched the back of her head. "I was! I mean... I did get ready. But then I noticed this smudge on the mirror, and... well, one thing led to another, and—"
Jay held up a hand to stop her. "Nope. No excuses. You're taking the day off, remember? Annie and Emma are on their way."
Mia groaned, giving him a pleading look. "Come on, Jay, just let me finish the mirror—"
"Nope," Jay said firmly, guiding her out of the bathroom. "You're done with cleaning for today. You deserve a break, and you're gonna take it."
Mia rolled her eyes, but deep down, she knew he was right. She hadn't slowed down in weeks, and a part of her was tired, though she'd never admit it. "Fine, fine. I'll go. But if anything happens while I'm out—"
"Nothing's gonna happen," Jay reassured her, smiling. "You're not the only one who can handle things around here, you know."
Mia huffed as she headed toward her room to finish getting ready. "We'll see about that."
Jay just chuckled, watching her go. He had a feeling getting Mia to relax wasn't going to be easy, but at least she was trying.
A few minutes later, Emma walked in, spotting Mia sitting on the couch with her arms crossed, clearly not too thrilled about her forced day off. "Someone's in a sour mood," Emma teased, leaning against the doorframe.
Annie followed close behind, her usual bright smile plastered on her face. "Good thing we're here," she added, winking at Mia.
Mia rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "Yes, yes, you got me! Alright, where are we going?"
Annie and Emma exchanged excited glances, their grins widening. In unison, they yelled, "ESCAPE ROOM!"
All three girls let out a scream of joy, their excitement bursting through the room. The sound was enough to jolt Kai awake from his sleep. He stumbled into the hallway, half-asleep, dressed in a fluffy robe with curlers in his hair. His expression was a mix of confusion and annoyance.
"What's going on?!" Kai grumbled, rubbing his eyes. "Why are you screaming at—" He glanced at the clock, "—seven in the morning?!"
Mia laughed, pointing at him. "Nice curlers, Kai."
Kai frowned, looking down at himself before groaning in realization. "Ugh, I forgot about these." He quickly pulled the curlers out, tossing them into the bathroom as the girls giggled.
"You better not be causing chaos before breakfast," Kai muttered, turning back toward his room.
Mia stood up, her mood considerably lightened now. "No chaos yet, Kai. Just planning some escape room fun."
Kai waved them off, clearly too tired to argue. "Fine. Just keep it down. Some of us still need beauty sleep."
As Kai disappeared back into his room, the girls burst into laughter again, their excitement for the day ahead building even more.

The girls arrived at the escape room, their energy high as they were greeted by the game master, who had a mischievous grin on his face. "You picked the hardest room we have," he said with a wink. "Good luck."
Mia, Emma, and Annie exchanged glances, but their excitement didn't falter. "We've got this," Mia said confidently, rolling up her sleeves.
" Yeah!" Emma encouraged. " We've got one another!"
Little did they know how intense the challenge would be.
The moment they stepped into the room, the door slammed shut behind them, and a loud ticking noise echoed through the space. The room was dimly lit, with complex puzzles scattered around — walls covered in cryptic symbols, intricate locks on every box, and strange machinery humming quietly in the background.
"Okay," Mia said, already in problem-solving mode. "Let's start with the obvious. There's gotta be a pattern in these symbols on the walls."
Emma walked over to one corner, fiddling with a lock that had about ten dials on it. "Uh, how do we even start with this? I feel like I need a degree just to figure it out."
Mia was already at the wall, her eyes squinting as she traced the symbols with her finger. "This has something to do with numbers. If we can translate the symbols into digits, we can unlock that door," she muttered, her brain clearly whirring into overdrive.
Annie and Emma shared a glance. Emma leaned in close and whispered, "Isn't she supposed to be, you know, chilling?"
Annie shrugged. "You know Mia. She doesn't know how to relax."
Mia, oblivious to their conversation, was entirely focused on the puzzle. "Annie, see if you can find anything that looks like a keyhole or maybe something that can match these symbols," she called, her hands moving quickly from one puzzle to the next.
Annie obeyed and started searching through a pile of strange, interconnected gears on the floor. Emma, meanwhile, was trying to decipher a riddle etched into a small chalkboard.
They worked in silence for a few minutes before Mia suddenly groaned. "Ugh, this is harder than I thought. Whoever designed this has a twisted mind." She leaned against the wall, deep in thought, her brows furrowed.
Emma looked at the clock. "We've only got 45 minutes left!" she warned.
Mia's eyes widened. "Okay, okay, think. These symbols—they have to relate to something we've already seen." She moved around the room like a whirlwind, examining every object closely.
After a few minutes of trial and error, Mia suddenly shouted, "Got it!" She pointed to a small panel hidden beneath one of the boxes. "This panel fits the sequence of numbers we got from the symbols. Quick, someone punch in 7385!"
Annie ran over and keyed in the numbers. A loud click followed, and the first door creaked open.
"Yes!" Mia fist-pumped, but their celebration was short-lived.
Inside the next room was another series of mind-bending puzzles—this time, they were mechanical. The walls were filled with levers, gears, and ropes, all intricately connected. In the center of the room stood a towering hourglass, sand already starting to pour through its narrow neck.
Mia sighed. "Of course. They're giving us a time limit within the time limit."
Emma gave Annie a knowing look. "This is definitely not relaxing," she whispered.
Mia, however, was already inspecting the mechanisms. "We need to get these gears moving in sync to stop the sand from falling. It's a chain reaction. If we mess up even one lever, we'll have to start all over."
"Great," Annie said, but there was a smile on her face. She was having fun despite the pressure.
For the next twenty minutes, the girls scrambled around, testing different levers, spinning gears, and checking their progress. Each time they got something right, another piece of the puzzle would reveal itself, but it was slow going. At one point, they accidentally triggered a lever that reset the whole mechanism.
"Argh!" Mia yelled, clutching her head in frustration. "This is impossible!"
Emma looked at her, concern etched on her face. "You okay, Mia? You seem... stressed."
Mia laughed, though it was a bit shaky. "I'm fine. Just need to think harder. We've got this!"
Annie, who had been watching Mia work tirelessly, whispered to Emma, "She's not chilling at all."
Emma smirked. "Yeah, but this is Mia's version of fun."
After another tense few minutes, Mia had a breakthrough. "I see it now! We need to pull these two levers at the same time while turning that gear! Emma, Annie, get ready!"
The girls moved quickly into position. Mia counted down, "Three, two, one—now!"
They pulled the levers in unison while Mia spun the gear, and the entire contraption roared to life. The gears began to move in sync, and the sand in the hourglass froze in place.
A loud clanking noise echoed through the room as the final door unlocked.
The girls let out a collective sigh of relief, wiping sweat from their foreheads. "That was insane," Emma said, laughing as she looked around the now-silent room.
Mia smiled, clearly proud. "Yeah, but it was fun, right?"
Annie nodded. "You worked your brain harder than I've ever seen."
Mia shrugged. "Hey, I told you, I don't know how to relax."
Then she looked around. " Heyyyyy," She said, a master plan forming in her mind. " I could make an escape room for those three!" She was going to walk to the exit when Emma stopped her.
" Don't you wanna see the chocolate and-"
" THERE'S CHOCOLATE HERE?!" Mia exclaimed, looking around.
Emma laughed. " No, silly! But the escape room is a building inside a mall! Come on, let's explore!"
_____________
" Wooooooow, Hershey's has a factory over here! I've gotta see this!" Mia exclaimed, running to the shop. Behind her, Emma and Annie shared a fist bump.
"We really know how to plan a day off," Emma said, high-fiving Annie.
"Absolutely," Annie agreed, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Let's see how long it takes before Mia gets distracted."
The two followed Mia into the Hershey's factory, where the scent of chocolate filled the air. The shop was lined with shelves full of various chocolate bars, candies, and novelty items. Mia's eyes widened as she took in the sight.
"Whoa, look at all this chocolate!" Mia said, practically bouncing on her heels. "I'm in heaven!"
Emma chuckled and nudged Annie. "Looks like we're not going anywhere anytime soon."
Mia was already at the counter, her hands eagerly reaching for different samples. "I have to try everything," she declared, grabbing a handful of chocolate squares and popping them into her mouth.
Annie and Emma wandered around the store, picking out their favorite treats and laughing at Mia's over-the-top enthusiasm. Emma finally caught up to Mia, who was now examining a large chocolate fountain with the same level of intensity she had shown in the escape room.
"Hey, Mia," Emma called out. "You know we could be exploring other stores, right?"
Mia looked up, a smudge of chocolate on her cheek. "Exploring? This is like the best place ever! I'm making my own chocolate creations!" She pointed to a make-your-own-chocolate station, where customers could mix and match different ingredients.
Annie grinned. "I think we've got her. Let's get a few pictures, then we can head out."
They took several selfies with Mia, who was joyfully covered in chocolate. After some serious sweet-tooth indulgence, the trio headed out of the Hershey's factory, with Mia holding several chocolate bags as if they were treasures.
"Alright, what's next on the agenda?" Mia asked, her enthusiasm undimmed. "I think I'm ready for some more adventures!"
Emma and Annie exchanged a look of mischievous satisfaction. "How about we check out that vintage toy store we saw on the way here?" Emma suggested.
Mia's eyes lit up. "Vintage toys? Lead the way!"
As they walked towards the toy store, Mia was buzzing with excitement. "Today has been incredible so far! I can't believe I almost missed out on this."
Emma laughed. "I'm glad you're having a good time. Just remember, no more escape rooms for a while!"
Mia gave her a playful smirk. "No promises."
Inside the vintage toy store, the girls wandered among shelves of old-fashioned toys, action figures, and rare collectibles. Mia was immediately drawn to a display of classic board games, her eyes scanning the titles with nostalgic delight.
"Look at these!" she exclaimed, picking up an old box of Clue. "I used to play this with Jay all the time."
Annie picked up a vintage robot toy and laughed. "This brings back memories! We used to have one of these."
Emma, meanwhile, was eyeing a collection of old dolls. "These are pretty cool. My grandmother used to collect dolls like these."
Then Mia squealed. " LOOK!" She yelled. " THERE'S A GIGAPET SHOP HERE!"
The other two girls looked confused, but before they could ask, Mia had already run there, throwing a ten dollar bill at the cashier and snatching a doll that looked a lot like her.
" Well, here we go again." Emma sighed as she followed her best friend into the shop, where she finally understood why Mia was so excited.
Gigapets were basically digital pets!
When they caught up to Mia, she had already snatched a bunny, frog and cryptids.
" One for each of my bags!" Mia exclaimed. " One for this bag, one for my sling bag, and one for my travelling bag!"
Then she saw the other two girls and waved.
Emma and Annie finally caught up, their expressions a mix of amusement and confusion. Emma raised an eyebrow. "So... what's the big deal with these Gigapets?"
Mia looked up, clutching her new acquisitions with a gleeful grin. "You don't get it? These were like the coolest thing ever when I was younger! They're digital pets you take care of, and they interact with you! It's like having a pet without all the mess."
Annie peered at the brightly colored packaging. "I've heard of these, but I never actually had one. They seem pretty fun."
Mia's eyes sparkled. "They are! And look at these designs—so retro and awesome!" She held up the bunny, frog, and cryptid for them to see, clearly proud of her haul.
Emma laughed. "I guess that explains why you were so excited. But seriously, are you planning to carry all those around with you?"
Mia nodded vigorously. "Yep! One for each of my bags. It's like having a little army of digital pets. Plus, it's a great way to relive some childhood nostalgia."
Annie shook her head, still chuckling. "Well, at least it's keeping you happy."
Emma and Annie joined Mia at the counter, where she eagerly paid for her new digital companions. The cashier, amused by Mia's enthusiasm, handed over the brightly wrapped packages with a smile.
"Alright," Mia said, turning to her friends with a grin. "What's next on our adventure?"
Emma looked at her watch. "We still have some time before dinner. How about we check out that new arcade we saw earlier?"
Mia's face lit up. "Arcade? Count me in!"
The trio made their way to the arcade, where the sounds of game machines and laughter filled the air. Mia's energy seemed boundless as she dove into the various games, her Gigapets safely stowed away in their respective bags. ( But not the vacation bag. She didn't have that one handy.)
Emma and Annie joined in, trying out everything from classic pinball machines to modern video games. They laughed and competed, their earlier worries and stresses melting away in the joy of the moment.
By the time they left the arcade, the sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. Mia, Emma, and Annie walked back to their starting point, their faces flushed with excitement and satisfaction.
"Today was awesome," Mia said, her voice filled with genuine happiness as she clutched a toy stuffed frog. "Thanks for coming along with me. I really needed this."
Emma smiled as she stowed her frog in her bag. "We're glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes, it's nice to just let loose and have fun."
Annie nodded in agreement as she looked into her paper bag which held her frog. "Definitely. We should make this a regular thing."
But just as they were going to leave, Mia saw an ice cream shop
" Oooh, we have got to try that!" She exclaimed.
Emma sighed. " We're gonna be here for a while."
