" Hi, can I see a boy about this high named Jay?" Mia asked anxiously, her eyes darting around the office.
" You mean Agent Walker?" The receptionist replied.
" When did Jay get such a sophisticated name?" Lloyd asked, scratching his head.
" Beats me." Then, turning back to the receptionist, she nodded.
" Names?"
" Mia Elizabeth Walker and Lloyd Garmadon."
" Age?"
" I'm Eight, he's.... Um..." Mia stuttered, looking up to Lloyd for help.
" 13." Lloyd said flatley, shooting a look at Mia.
" What? You never told me your age! No one did!" Mia whispered.
" Fair enough." Lloyd replied.
" And relationship?"
" I'm his sister, and Lloyd here is his cousin."
" I'm act-"
He was cut off by a sharp jab in the stomach. Mia was looking at him with an expression which read, ' Go along with it, you fool!'.
" Yeah. What she said." The receptionist gave them cards and instructed them to pin them on their clothes.
" Why are we doing this?" Mia asked as they followed the receptionist.
" I have no idea." Lloyd replied.
Mia also had no idea how they had gotten to this moment.

Mia was sitting in her room, on her chair, face resting on hand, which was on her desk. She was staring at a frame that had a picture of the whole team. But there was one particular person she was looking at.
Jay.
He had disappeared for a year.
It was also the day the Merge happened.
16 realms coming together.
It was a scary day.
And Mia blamed herself for it.
She knew the Merge was coming! She just did!
Well, not really. She only saw black clouds.
But still! She could have warned them.
And Master Wu! She could have helped Master Wu with the scrolls.
Not that they make sense or anything. Mia had been reading those scrolls for a year, trying to figure out how to reverse the effect.
She also had maps, to try and figure out where Jay was.
Just then, Lloyd entered, and he took in the room that stood before him.
Scrolls sprawled out everywhere. Pictures of Jay and the rest laughing and having fun. Maps on the wall.
Jay's clothes and pins hanging from the ceiling.
" Mia?" Lloyd called out cautiously.
" Yes, Lloyd?" Mia asked, her voice muffled.
" Where are you?"
" What does it matter? It's not like I'm gonna be any help. You know what happened last time I went on a mission."
Lloyd walked over to the desk, careful not to step on anything.
" We might have a lead to where Jay is."
Mia turned to Lloyd, her eyes opened wide.
" You're serious?" She asked.
Lloyd nodded. He opened his mouth to speak, but Mia was already gone. Lloyd chuckled and walked outside, to find the Bounty parked in the yard.
" Hurry up, slowpoke!" Mia called from the deck, waving for Lloyd to join her.
Lloyd walked up the ramp and said, " You know, it's been a year since we've seen Jay, so he might-"
" Yes, Lloyd, I know. He might look older. But, for some reason, he still looks like he's 10. That is, up until last year." Mia interrupted him, retreating the ramp and lifting the Bounty in the air.
" Are you sure you still know how to drive this thing?" Lloyd watched Mia as she seared the Bounty out of the courtyard.
" Do apples have skin?"
" But-"
" Lloyd! I'm the wind master! If the Bounty fails I can just use my magic to keep it in the air!"
" Fair enough." Lloyd leaned on the railing and watched the surroundings as wind blew in his face.

They walked into a room, and the receptionist yelled out, " MANAGER!"
A familiar freckled, brown hair, and handsome guy emerged from a room inside the room, clearly annoyed.
" What is it, Sub-Agent Agnes?" He asked.
Agent Agnes moaned to Mia and Lloyd.
" These people, who say they are your sister and cousin, want to talk to you." She said, closing the door behind them.
" Hello, Jay!" Mia said, smiling brightly.
" Who are you? And what do you want?" He asked, one hand on his hip.
" I'm..... your sister, Jay. Lloyd's here, too!"
" Sorry, it does not ring a bell. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a videoga.... Um, paperwork to file." Jay laughed nervously, hiding his controller.
" Jay, it's us! Mia and Lloyd! You know, the people you used to work with!" Lloyd stepped forward.
" Who and what?" Jay tilted his head.
Mia and Lloyd exchange bewildered glances, unsure of how to proceed. They had expected a warm welcome from Jay, but instead, they're met with confusion and skepticism.
"Mia, Lloyd, I think there's been some mistake," Jay says, his brow furrowed in confusion. "I don't have a sister, and I certainly don't have a cousin named Lloyd."
Mia's heart sinks as she realizes that something isn't right. "But Jay, we've been through so much together! Don't you remember battling against the forces of evil, saving Ninjago countless times?"
Jay shakes his head, his expression growing more uncertain. "I'm sorry, but I really don't know what you're talking about."
Lloyd steps forward, his voice tinged with frustration. "Jay, this isn't a joke. We need your help. There's a new threat rising, and we can't defeat it without you."
Jay's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "How do I know you're not just trying to distract me from my work? I have important responsibilities here, you know."
Mia's heart sinks even further, realizing that their friend may truly have no memory of their past adventures together. But she refused to give up hope. "Jay, please," she pleads, her voice trembling with emotion. "We need you. Ninjago needs you."
Jay hesitated, his gaze flickering between Mia and Lloyd. Finally, after a long moment of silence, he lets out a heavy sigh. "Okay, fine. I'll hear you out. But this had better not be some kind of prank."
Mia raised her hand, and a picture book flew into it.
" I'm still surprised you can do that." Lloyd said in awe as they sat down in Jay's new dark office. The only furniture in there was a desk, a few chairs, some drawers, and a hanger coat. As well as a TV and couch.
Mia grinned sheepishly at Lloyd's comment. "Yeah, I've been practicing," she admitted, flipping through the pages of the picture book with her free hand.
Lloyd watched in amazement as Mia effortlessly controlled the book with her telekinetic abilities. "It's like you were born with those powers," he remarked, awe coloring his voice.
Mia shrugged modestly, though a hint of pride gleamed in her eyes. "Maybe I was," she said thoughtfully, focusing on the images within the book. "Or maybe I just needed the right motivation to unlock them."
Lloyd nodded in understanding, recalling the countless times Mia had amazed him with her newfound abilities during their adventures together. "Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad you have them," he said sincerely, reaching out to touch her shoulder.
Then Mia showed a picture to Jay and said, "See? That's you holding me. Cute, intelligent, adorable, very talented-"
Lloyd quickly interjected before Mia could finish her enthusiastic description. "Okay, okay, Mia, I think Jay gets the picture," he said, shooting her a pointed look.
Mia blinked, momentarily taken aback by Lloyd's interruption, but then she nodded, realizing she might have been overdoing it. "Right, sorry," she said sheepishly, turning her attention back to Jay.
Jay, who had been watching the exchange with a mixture of amusement and confusion, raised an eyebrow. "So, that's supposed to be me?" he asked, examining the picture Mia had shown him.
Mia nodded eagerly, unable to contain her excitement. "Yes, that's you, Jay! Don't you remember? It was taken after we defeated the Serpentine together," she explained, her voice tinged with nostalgia.
Jay frowned, studying the image more closely. "I'm sorry, but I really don't recall any of this," he admitted, his tone apologetic.
Mia let out a low growl, and cracked her neck.
" Mia, no. Mia, please." Lloyd said, trying to reason with her.
Mia stomped her foot, and Jay was shot up by an electrical geyser.
" Mia, what are you doing?" Lloyd cried, looking at Jay,
" Regaining his memory." She replied, firmly.
" But couldn't you... oh, I don't know..... Be a bit more...... nicer? To Jay?"
Mia huffed. " Why?"
" Because, in the end, he's still your brother."
Mia considered this. " Maybe," She replied. " But he still broke my heart. He has to pay."
Whoa, Mia," Lloyd started, raising his hands in a calming gesture as Jay floated mid-air, the electrical geyser swirling around him. "Maybe we can take a different approach here?"
Jay, looking bewildered but unhurt, shook his head as the shock dissipated around him. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but it's not funny."
Mia stood there, arms crossed, her eyes narrowed. "I'm not trying to be funny, Jay," she said firmly, her voice softening slightly. "I'm just... I'm trying to make you remember."
Lloyd sighed, rubbing his temples. "Mia, we can't force his memories back. You know that."
"But we can't just walk away either!" Mia snapped, her hands falling to her sides in frustration. "Jay's out here, living like he's some kind of stranger, and it's not right! We've been through so much together, and now, it's like he doesn't even know me."
Lloyd put a hand on her shoulder, a gentle touch to ground her. "I know, but we need to be careful. Jay's not the enemy here."
Mia glanced at him, her gaze softening just a bit. "I know. I just don't understand why he can't remember any of it."
"Maybe it's not his fault," Lloyd said thoughtfully. "Maybe something happened to him, something that made all of this fade away. We don't know what he's been through since the Merge."
Mia shook her head slowly. "But he should remember me. We were close. He was my brother—my best friend."
Jay, still standing, rubbed his head, looking between Mia and Lloyd. "Look, I'm sorry. I really don't mean to upset you, but I don't know who you are. You keep saying I'm your brother, but... I don't remember anything about it."
Mia sighed.
Then she turned.
" Come on, Lloyd." She said, her voice cold. " If he doesn't remember, then so be it."
Lloyd's eyes widened. " Wait, Mi-"
" He just won't be able to play all his gaaaaames...... and all those snaaaaacks.... and the E- K- A- C....... and-"
" Wait!" Jay yelped. " Say that word again!"
Mia furrowed her brows. " E- K- A-C?"
Jay grinned. " Yeah, that one! Didn't we make that up so Cole wouldn't get hungry every time we said his favorite dessert?"
Mia grinned. " Knew it."
