🤷♀️
"How do we know you're the Wind Ninja?" one of the coworkers asked, eyeing Mia suspiciously.
Mia effortlessly lifted him, and he screamed, "Put me down! I'm afraid of heights!" Mia set the worker down, and the other one spoke up.
"How do we know you're really his sister and not some random stranger asking for him?" she asked.
Mia held her hand up, and a scrapbook flew into her hand, as well as her and Jay's passport.
"Here," she said.
And then she turned back to Jay. "Come on, Jay, you have to remember something. Anything. Anyone. Me? Kai? Nya?" Mia pleaded.
"Eh, I don't listen to little girls who have no idea what they're talking about," he replied.
"You really shouldn't have said that," Lloyd warned.
"Why? She doesn't look so strong, and she absolutely does not look like she has any idea what she's saying," Jay remarked.
Then Mia lost it. Her eyes turned to a shade of bright red, and she charged at Jay.
"No one, I mean no one, calls me weak, and yes, I know what I'm doing," she growled. She held her hands up, lifted Jay, and shook him around the room while he was levitating. "If you want me to put you down, tell me your life, every single detail!" she yelled. The workers ran to stop her, but Mia created a force field between them.
"What good is that going to do?" Lloyd called from the other side.
"I just want to know if he remembers anything, anything," Mia replied.
"I was born, went to school, graduated, went to college, and came to work here," Jay stuttered.
"Where are your parents?"
"Um," Jay looked uncomfortable.
"I asked where your parents are," Mia yelled.
"Dead, okay? They're dead. They died a long time ago, and I don't know why you're asking this, but I just told you."
Mia looked at Jay, a hopeful glimmer in her eyes.
"Dead? Were they killed or did they die of natural causes?" she asked gently.
"I don't like talking about it, but since you asked, sure, I'll tell you," Jay replied reluctantly. "There was a car accident on the highway. We were driving at night. My sister was there too. There was a truck that crashed into our car. Me and my sister survived, but our parents...." he trailed off, unable to continue.
"He remembers," Mia muttered excitedly. "He actually remembered. Maybe there is a chance in getting his slowpoke brain back to his normal self."
"Mia, what are you doing?" Lloyd asked, concern evident in his voice.
"What does it look like I'm doing, playing hockey? Oh wait, if I said that to the normal Jay," Mia eyed the strict boy standing in front of her, wearing a black suit and tie, "he would have said, ‘Playing hockey? Does this sound like a time to be joking around? We are in full crisis mode, and you're making jokes about playing? Step up your game, Mia!’"
"You can really make a good Jay impression," Lloyd complimented Mia, who blushed.
"I'm sorry to break this up, but we don't have much time," Zane called from the other room.
"Much time? Much time for what?" Jay inquired.
"Okay, I know this is going to sound really bizarre, but just hear me out," Mia said, taking a deep breath before continuing. "So there's this really interesting Serpentine guy who's trying to find Lloyd, and Lloyd has to hide. But there's a sword which we need to get in order for us to defeat him, so it has to be all six of the Ninja. Or actually, rather all seven. Problem is, there are only six of us, and we'll need you in order for us to unlock the sword."
"Wait, why is he trying to find this Lloyd guy?" Jay asked, confused.
"First of all, the guy with the blonde hair is Lloyd. Second, he has green energy, and might I remind you, this energy is really powerful and is the key to unlocking so many things bad guys might want, so he has to hide," Mia explained.
"But why was he not hiding before?" Jay inquired further.
"Oh my God, why are you still so slow at learning this stuff? Jay, I literally just told you!" Mia exclaimed. "The reason he was not hiding before was because there were all seven ninja! Problem was, now there are only six, and since the bad guys are coming out again, they want the boy. So now you have to be there, and you have to get all your memories back in order for us to get that last sword and put it in the monastery because they stole that sword."
"What is the name of the sword they stole?" Jay asked.
"The Sword of Memory, what else do you think? It's the most important one! It helped keep all the ninjas' memories together! But now, since it's lost, one of the ninjas has lost their memory!" Mia explained passionately.
Then Mia paused and slapped her head.
"Of course, how could I be so careless?" Mia groaned.
"What? What happened?" Lloyd asked.
"Lloyd, don't you see? Because the Sword of Memory was lost, Jay's memories are lost. We have to find that sword so that Jay can get his memory back!" Mia exclaimed.
"But he doesn't know us. Rather, remember us. So how are we supposed to... You know... convince him to come with us?" Lloyd questioned.
"Oh my God, why do I keep forgetting this stuff? If it weren't for me, we would still have the potion, you would still be able to get back home, we wouldn't be lost here, and I wouldn't be filled with sadness!" Mia yelled in frustration.
“ Mia!” Lloyd yelled.
“ What now?” Mia snapped.
Then, a black shadow enveloped her. She screamed, trying to wrestle her way out.
“ Mia, wake up!”
Mia screamed, and rolled off her bed. Her pillow and blanket followed her trail, and enveloped her in pitch darkness.
“ Mia, it’s okay! You’re okay!” Lloyd said, lifting the blanket off Mia.
“ You!” Mia accused, standing up. “ I can’t believe you did that!” She shook her head, the dream still fresh in her mind.
“ I whaaaaat?” Lloyd asked, confused.
“ You took me to the administration, and you made me deal with him alone!” Mia yelled, her eyes blazing with rage.
Jay stepped into the room, his face covered in lotion.
“ Mia, sis, it was just a nightmare. Relax.” He said, rubbing his face.
“ And you!” Mia exclaimed, pointing at Jay. “ You were even worse! You couldn’t remember me! You called me little girl and whatnot!”
Jay’s face curved into a perfect O shape, his eyebrows confused.
“ Well, next time, maybe help me.” She glared at Lloyd, and then to Jay. “ And maybe you should keep your thoughts together and not forget me. We don’t want a redo of what happened with mom and dad now, do we?”
And with that, she stormed out of the room, Blackie trailing her.
The two boys just stared at the door in utter silence. Lloyd broke the silence a few minutes later.
“ Were you expecting that?” He asked.
Jay shook his head, his jaws unintentionally open and back slumped.
Just as Lloyd and Jay were trying to process Mia's outburst, Cole stumbled into the room with a mouthful of cake, looking thoroughly perplexed by the scene before him.
"Uh... what's going on here?" Cole mumbled through a mouthful of crumbs, his eyes darting between Lloyd and Jay.
Lloyd sighed heavily, trying to gather his thoughts amidst the chaos. "Mia had a nightmare," he explained, gesturing vaguely in the direction Mia had stormed off. "She seemed really upset."
Jay nodded, still trying to shake off his own confusion. "Yeah, she was pretty worked up about something... mentioned something about us forgetting her."
Cole's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and he swallowed the last bite of cake before speaking. "Forgetting her? That doesn't sound good."
Lloyd ran a hand through his hair, feeling the weight of the situation settling in. "We need to talk to her, figure out what's going on," he said, determination creeping into his voice.
Jay nodded in agreement. "Definitely. We can't let her think we'd forget her, especially after everything that's happened."
Zane entered the room with his usual calm demeanor, but his eyes quickly caught onto the tension lingering in the air. "What happened?" he asked, his gaze shifting between Lloyd and Jay.
Jay sighed heavily, feeling a sense of relief that Zane had arrived. "My sister had a bad dream," he explained, his voice tinged with concern.
Zane nodded in understanding before turning his attention to Jay. "Well, Jay, what was it about? You're her brother. You might have some clue."
Jay frowned, trying to recall the details of Mia's nightmare. "She mentioned something about me forgetting her... and something about the administration," he said, his brow furrowing in concentration.
Then, his eyes sparked with recognition. “ You don’t think she dreamt of the Merge, do you?”
Lloyd exchanged a worried glance with Zane, realizing the gravity of Mia's distress. "We need to find her," he said firmly, determination flickering in his eyes.
Zane nodded in agreement but then suggested, "Let Jay go alone. She'll be more comfortable talking to her brother."
Lloyd hesitated for a moment before nodding his consent. "Alright, Jay. Go find Mia. We'll be here if you need us."
Jay's footsteps echoed against the stone pathway as he made his way towards the wall that separated the monastery from the city. He found Mia sitting there, her silhouette outlined against the backdrop of the city lights.
"What were you saying about being forgotten?" Jay asked gently as he approached her.
Mia turned to him, a hint of confusion in her eyes. "What?" she replied, her voice soft.
"You were talking about being forgotten," Jay reiterated, concerned lacing his words.
Understanding dawned on Mia's face as she recalled her earlier outburst. "Ohhhh! Yeah, that was about the merge," she explained, her tone tinged with resignation. "You know, how you forgot me and the time it took for you to remember me."
Jay's brows furrowed in realization. "That was that one time," he argued, trying to defend himself.
Mia shook her head, her expression solemn. "But you were gone for a year," she pointed out, the weight of her words hanging in the air between them.
As Jay and Mia sat on the wall, their conversation interrupted by the weight of past memories, they noticed the mailman approaching, struggling under the weight of his heavy sack.
Mia sprang into action, her instincts kicking in as she leaped off the ledge and rushed to his aid. With a gentle hand, she helped the mailman steady himself, her expression filled with concern.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine empathy.
The mailman nodded, grateful for her assistance. "Just a bit overwhelmed by the load today," he admitted with a weary smile.
Mia nodded understandingly, her eyes scanning the area before she spotted a nearby lemonade pitcher. With a swift movement, she caught it mid-air, her reflexes as sharp as ever.
"Here, have some lemonade," she offered kindly, pouring a refreshing drink into a cup and handing it to the mailman.
He accepted it gratefully, taking a long sip and letting out a contented sigh. "Thank you, young lady. That hits the spot," he said, his exhaustion easing slightly.
Mia smiled warmly, her gesture a simple yet meaningful way to brighten someone's day. "You're welcome. Take care now," she replied, her voice filled with sincerity.
“ What about the mail? I’m expecting something!” Jay called from overhead.
“ Oh, yes! I almost forgot!” The mailman reached into his bag and pulled out a handful of letters, one of which caught Mia's attention. It was an invitation to a party for the ninja.
Mia's eyes lit up with excitement as she eagerly took the invitation from the mailman's hand. "Wow, Jay, look at this! It's an invitation to a party for us!" she exclaimed, waving the letter in front of him.
Jay's face broke into a grin as he jumped off the ledge and read the invitation over Mia's shoulder. "That's awesome! We definitely need to gather the whole team for this," he agreed, his excitement matching Mia's.
With a sense of determination, Mia turned to Jay, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Let's round up the others and make sure everyone knows about this party. It's going to be epic!" she declared, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.
Jay nodded in agreement, a surge of excitement coursing through him at the thought of celebrating with their fellow ninjas. "You're right, Mia. Let's make sure everyone's there to join in the fun," he said, his tone filled with conviction.
Together, they ran inside to the gaming room, where everyone was chatting.
Mia waved the invitation in the air, her eyes dancing with excitement as she addressed the gathered ninjas. "Listen up, everyone! We've got an invitation to a party in our honor!"
Lloyd's eyes widened in surprise, his voice filled with anticipation. "Really? That's awesome! What does it say?"
Mia cleared her throat, reading directly from the invitation with dramatic flair. "It says, 'Attention, esteemed ninjas! You are cordially invited to a grand celebration in honor of your heroic deeds...'"
Cole's face broke into a grin, his excitement palpable. "A celebration? Count me in! What else does it say?"
Mia continued, her voice tinged with excitement. "'Join us for an evening of festivities and camaraderie as we commemorate your bravery and valor. Please come dressed in appropriate attire befitting your ninja status.'"
Kai's eyes sparkled with anticipation, already envisioning the perfect outfit. "Oh, this is going to be epic! I can't wait to show off my ninja gear!"
Nya nodded in agreement, her mind already racing with ideas. "Me too! We've got to make sure we look our best for this."
As the ninjas were getting ready for the party, the hotline suddenly rang, breaking the excited chatter in the room. Lloyd quickly picked up the receiver, listening intently to the message on the other end.
"It's a distress call," Lloyd announced, his voice grave. "There's trouble at the docks. It sounds serious."
Instantly, the mood in the room shifted from excitement to urgency. The ninjas exchanged determined looks, already moving into action mode.
"We need to go," Kai declared, his voice firm and resolute.
Just then, two people- no, people aren't see-through. They were ghosts. Two ghosts were floating towards her. They looked... Familiar. The brown hair. The distinctive pattern of freckles. That one large ponytail only her mom would wear. And that... Light shade of brown in their hair. Only her mom would have that.
" No, it can't be mom and dad! They were..." Mia trailed off, shaking her head.
But as they got closer Mia could see their faces. They were, indeed, her mom and dad.
But something wasn't right. Mia's eyes were brown, not bright red like the ghosts which were floating in front of her. They were cackling and coming towards her and the team.
" Mom? Dad? Is that you?" she asked cautiously.
The ghosts did not reply, only held up their see through hands in her direction. A light emitted from their palms, and hit Jay right in the head.
" Jay? Jay!" Mia yelled running towards him. Then turning to the ghostly figures, she shouted, " What have you done to my brother?!"
The ghost just cackled and disappeared into thin air.
“ Mia!” Zane called, snapping her back to reality. With reflexes honed from years of training, she instinctively performed spinjitzu/ However, the disorientation from the vision caused her to misjudge her trajectory, and she collided with the wall with a loud thud.
"Oof!" Mia grunted as she landed face-first on the ground, her pride wounded more than anything else. She groaned softly, feeling embarrassment wash over her as she pushed herself up onto her hands and knees.
Zane rushed to her side, his concern evident in his voice. "Mia, are you alright? That was quite a fall."
Mia rubbed her sore nose, feeling a twinge of pain as she struggled to push herself upright. "Yeah, I think so," she replied, her voice slightly muffled from the impact.
Meanwhile, Jay, having witnessed Mia's tumble, hurried over to her side, his worry etched on his face. "Mia! Are you okay?" he asked urgently, his arms outstretched to help her up.
Mia's heart swelled with relief at the sight of Jay's concerned expression. "You're alive!" she exclaimed, a mixture of gratitude and disbelief coloring her words as she threw herself into his arms.
Jay caught her easily, his confusion evident as he held her close. "Wasn't I always?" he replied, his brow furrowed in confusion.
Mia pulled back slightly, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she realized her mistake. "I mean... yes, of course," she stammered, her words tumbling out in a rush. "I just... I'm glad you're okay, Jay."
With a sheepish smile, Mia allowed Jay to help her to her feet, grateful for his steady presence by her side.
Zane's sensors focused on Mia, analyzing her vital signs with precision. "Your heart rate is elevated, typically a response to shock," he observed, his robotic voice tinged with concern.
Mia nodded, grateful for Zane's astute observation. "Yeah, I was lost in thought, and you did suddenly pull me back into reality," she admitted, offering a small smile to the robotic ninja.
Jay raised an eyebrow skeptically, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "Riiiight," he teased, his tone teasingly sarcastic.
Mia rolled her eyes in response, playfully nudging Jay's shoulder. "I'm serious!" she protested, though her grin betrayed her amusement.
Turning back to Zane, Mia's expression grew more serious. "Thanks for looking out for me, Zane. I appreciate it," she said sincerely, her gratitude evident in her voice.
Zane nodded in acknowledgment, his LED eyes glowing softly. "It is my duty to ensure the well-being of the team," he replied simply.
Mia walked out of the room to Master Wu with a sense of urgency, her mind still reeling from the unsettling vision she had experienced. As she stood before him, she took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before speaking.
"Master Wu," she began, her voice steady but tinged with concern, "I need to speak with you about something important. I had a vision, and it's been weighing heavily on my mind."
Master Wu regarded her with a calm expression, his wise eyes studying her intently. "Tell me what you saw, Mia," he encouraged, his voice gentle yet firm.
Mia recounted the details of her vision, describing the appearance of her parents' ghostly forms and the sense of foreboding that had accompanied their presence. She spoke of the red-eyed specters, their sinister laughter echoing in her mind, and the inexplicable sense of danger that had gripped her heart.
"As they approached, I felt a sense of dread," Mia continued, her voice faltering slightly as she relived the memory. "And when they vanished, Jay was struck by some sort of energy. I'm worried, Master Wu. I fear that this vision may be a warning of something dark to come."
Master Wu listened attentively to Mia's words, his expression grave as he processed the information she had shared. After a moment of thoughtful silence, he spoke, his voice filled with wisdom and insight.
"Visions are often mysterious and open to interpretation," Master Wu began, his tone measured and reassuring. "But they can also offer guidance, if we are willing to listen."
He paused, his gaze meeting Mia's with unwavering intensity. "Trust in your instincts, Mia. Your connection to the elements and your inner strength will guide you through any challenges that may lie ahead. Remember, true power comes not from fear, but from courage and wisdom."
Mia nodded, feeling a sense of reassurance wash over her at Master Wu's words. "Thank you, Master Wu," she said gratefully, her resolve strengthened by his guidance. "I will remain vigilant and heed your advice. Together, we will face whatever darkness may come."
Suddenly, another vision suddenly crashed over her like a tidal wave, engulfing her senses in a whirlwind of terror.
Her breath caught in her throat as she watched in horror as Jay, her beloved brother and trusted teammate, approached her with something in his hand. Her eyes widened in disbelief as he raised the object high above his head, his expression twisted
