The vanishing Village

Thank you, everyone who has added this story to their libraries! I appreciate it!!

" Mia? Hey, Mia, wake up! We're here!" Jay whispered, shaking awake his sleepy sister.

Mia yawned and rubbed her eyes, then snuggled closer to him. " Mmmmmm."

" Mia, come on! We're almost here at the City of Kittens."

" Mmmmh?"

Blackie lazily yawned. " Please, were trying to sleep."

" But the City of Kittens is here!"

Blsckies eyes widened. He darted from Mia's lap to Jay's lap to Kai's lap and peered out the window. " Wow, it's amazing!" He breathed.

Then, he turned to Mia. " Mia, wake up!"

When Mia didn't respond, Blackie sighed.

" You asked for it."

Blackie began slapping Mia on the face, and she soon began to wake up.

" Jay?" She mumbled. " Could you please get Blackie some food?"

Blackie slapped her some more. " Meow." He said.

Mia sighed and woke up. " This better be good, Blackie."

Blackie nuzzled her body. " Look outside."

Mia turned and gasped.

" Oh, Blackie, we're here!" She exclaimed, holding him up while making him swing like a clock.

" Yes, yes, appreciate the enthusiasm, but please, set me down."

" But it's my dream world! A world full of
.. cats!!" Then, an idea struck her nind. "Oh my goodness, do you know what this means?"

" That you stop waving me like a flag?"

"That cat credit cards are a thing!" Mia exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement.

Blackie, now slightly dizzy from being swung around, tried to regain his composure. "Well, that’s certainly one way to look at it."

As the vehicle came to a stop, Lloyd announced, "Alright everyone, we’ve arrived at the City of Kittens! Everyone out!"

Before anyone could say another word, Mia was already out the door, with Blackie bounding after her. They sprinted down the cobblestone streets, heading straight for the nearest cat café.

"Mia, wait up!" Kai called, but she was already too far ahead, lost in the excitement of her dream world.

The cat café was everything Mia had ever imagined. Cats of all shapes, sizes, and colors lounged on plush cushions, climbed elaborate scratching posts, and lazily napped in the sunlight streaming through the windows. The air was filled with the soft purring of content felines and the scent of freshly brewed coffee and pastries.

Mia burst through the doors, her eyes sparkling. "Blackie, look! This place is amazing!"

Blackie, now fully awake and equally excited, trotted in beside her. "It’s purr-fect," he agreed, his whiskers twitching with delight.

They found a cozy corner with a big, cushy chair and a small table. Mia settled in, and Blackie hopped up onto her lap, purring loudly.

A friendly waitress approached, her apron adorned with cat prints. "Welcome to the Purrfect Café! Can I get you anything to start?"

Mia looked around, her eyes wide with wonder. "Do you have any special treats for my friend here?" she asked, gesturing to Blackie.

"Absolutely," the waitress replied with a smile. "We have a selection of gourmet cat treats and even a catnip latte."

"That sounds wonderful," Mia said, beaming. "We’ll take both, please."

As the waitress went to fetch their order, Mia looked down at Blackie, who was already making himself comfortable. "Isn’t this the best, Blackie?"

Blackie purred loudly. "It really is. This place is a cat’s paradise."

They spent the next hour enjoying their treats and playing with the café's resident cats. Mia laughed as a tiny kitten batted at her shoelaces, and Blackie happily shared his catnip latte with a friendly tabby.

When the others finally caught up with them, they found Mia and Blackie surrounded by cats, both looking happier than they had in a long time.

"Looks like you two are having a great time," Jay said, smiling as he approached.

Mia looked up, her face glowing with joy. "This place is incredible, Jay! It’s like a dream come true."

"Well, we’re glad you’re enjoying it," Nya said, sitting down next to Mia. "Maybe we can join you for a while?"

"Of course!" Mia said, grinning. "There’s plenty of room for everyone."

While the others played, Blackie nudged Mia and whispered, "Mia, can I talk to you for a moment? My cousin needs to tell you something important."

Curious, Mia followed Blackie to a quiet corner of the café where a sleek, black cat with piercing green eyes awaited them. "Mia, this is my cousin, Raymond," Blackie introduced.

Raymond nodded solemnly. "Mia, we have a problem. There are cat nappers in the area. They’ve been targeting beloved pets and strays alike."

Mia's eyes widened with alarm. "Cat nappers?! That’s terrible! We can’t let that happen. Change of plans!" she announced loudly, drawing everyone's attention. "Every single cat is coming with us. No excuses."

Lloyd, bewildered, looked up from a game he was playing with a few kittens. "What?"

Mia, determined, explained, "I can have a live bed. It’s fine. We need to protect these cats."

With everyone on board, they quickly began organizing the cats. Soon, Mia's room in the hotel was transformed into a cozy, makeshift sanctuary for all the cats. Beds were fashioned from blankets and pillows, and toys were scattered everywhere. The room buzzed with playful energy as the cats explored their new space.

As Mia and Blackie played with the others, Jay surveyed the room and shook his head. "Yeesh. That’s a lot of cats."

Lloyd, stepping carefully around a particularly fluffy kitten, nodded in agreement. "I’ve never seen so many cats in one place."

Nya laughed, watching a kitten chase its tail. "Well, it looks like Mia's in her element."

Mia, surrounded by cats of all sizes and colors, beamed with happiness. "I love you all!" she exclaimed, hugging Blackie close.

The evening passed in a joyful blur. The cats, now safe from the threat of cat nappers, played and napped contentedly. Mia and her friends took turns playing with them, ensuring each cat felt loved and cared for. Even Raymond relaxed, his worry melting away as he watched Mia's determination turn into a loving, protective force.

Later that night, as the lights dimmed and the cats began to settle down, Mia looked around the room, her heart full. "Thank you, everyone, for helping me protect them," she said softly.

Kai, lying on a bed with a purring kitten on his chest, smiled. "Anything for you, Mia. And for the cats."

Zane, who had been meticulously organizing a feeding schedule for the cats, nodded. "We couldn’t have done it without your leadership."

Mia hugged Blackie one more time before drifting off to sleep, surrounded by the gentle purring of her new feline friends. "I love you all," she whispered again, a smile on her face.

------------

The next day, Blackie was unusually distressed. His fur stood on end as he urgently approached Mia. "Mia! The kidnapper came again!" he exclaimed, his voice quivering.

Mia's eyes widened in shock. "What?! Are you okay?"

Blackie nodded, albeit shakily. "It tried to take me, but thankfully a certain Wind Ninja is my owner. Your element somehow transferred into me, and I used wind to escape."

Mia, relieved and impressed, leaned down and kissed Blackie on the head. "You did great, Blackie. I'm so proud of you."

She then turned to the other cats, who were watching with wide eyes. "Okay, everyone, listen up! We're going to make a bed. A bed of cats. That way, we'll all be together and safer."

The cats meowed in agreement, and soon, Mia and Blackie were orchestrating a cozy, protective barrier of feline fluff. The cats arranged themselves around Mia, creating a living, breathing fortress of purrs and warmth.

As they settled in, Lloyd, Kai, Nya, Cole, and Zane entered the room, curious about the commotion.

"What’s going on?" Lloyd asked, looking at the makeshift cat bed.

"We're making sure everyone stays safe," Mia explained. "The kidnapper came again last night, but Blackie managed to escape using wind powers."

Kai raised an eyebrow. "Wind powers? That’s new."

Mia nodded. "Yeah, it seems like my element somehow transferred to him. We're all sticking together now to make sure no one gets taken."

Nya crouched down and petted a nearby kitten. "That's smart, Mia. Safety in numbers."

Cole, still waking up, rubbed his eyes. "As long as I don't end up with cat hair in my breakfast, I'm good."

Zane, always the strategist, added, "We should also set up a watch system. One of us can stay awake to keep an eye on things."

The others nodded in agreement. Mia felt a wave of gratitude for her friends' support. "Thanks, everyone. It means a lot."

As the day progressed, the room buzzed with activity. The cats, now feeling secure, played and napped contentedly. Mia and her friends took turns watching over them, ensuring everyone stayed safe.

Blackie, ever the protector, stayed close to Mia. "Thank you for believing in me," he said softly.

Mia hugged him tightly. "Always, Blackie. We're a team."

That night, as they all settled down, the room was filled with the soothing sound of purring.

That night, as they all settled down, the room was filled with the soothing sound of purring.

When Mia woke up, though, there wasn't any purr. Startled, she looked around.

Not a single cat was left.

Not even her dear Blackie.

"Blackie?!" she called out, her panic rising with each word. "BLACKIE?! WHERE ARE YOU?! BLACKIE, THIS IS NO TIME FOR JOKES!"

Then, she saw a letter on the counter. She picked it up and read it.

**Mia, the cats are being kidna...**

Mia's eyes widened at the incomplete word.

"JAY?! KAI?! ANYONE? ARE YOU THERE?!" she yelled, tears in her eyes as she dropped to the ground, rolling in distress.

Jay ran to Mia. "What happened?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"My Blackie and the other cats are GONE!" she wailed.

The others crowded near, looking equally alarmed.

"What are we gonna do?" Kai asked.

"We'll do what we can. Look for clues," Lloyd said, turning to Mia. "What's the plan, Mia?"

Mia took a deep breath, wiping her tears. "Kai, Nya, you look for clues. Lloyd, Cole, you two are on smashing duty. Jay and Zane, you'll use your powers on the kidnapper or kidnappers. I'll get the cats. Is that clear?"

Jay gulped. "Yes."

Everyone nodded, ready to spring into action. They quickly dispersed, following Mia's orders.

Kai and Nya began scanning the room for any signs of forced entry or evidence left behind. "There must be something here," Nya muttered, checking the windowsill.

Kai found a small tuft of fur near the back door. "Look at this," he said, showing it to Nya. "This could be a clue."

Meanwhile, Lloyd and Cole geared up for their task. "Smashing duty, huh?" Cole said with a grin. "I can handle that."

Lloyd nodded. "Let's find these guys and make sure they know not to mess with our friends."

Jay and Zane prepared to track down the kidnapper. "Ready, Zane?" Jay asked.

Zane's eyes flickered. "Always. Let's bring them to justice."

As they set out, Mia's determination grew. She wouldn't rest until every cat was safe and sound. She traced the steps Blackie might have taken and checked every possible hiding spot. Her heart pounded with worry, but she kept moving.

"Come on, Blackie, where are you?" she whispered to herself.

Suddenly, she heard a faint meow. Her eyes lit up, and she followed the sound. It led her to a dark alleyway. She cautiously stepped in, her eyes scanning the shadows.

"Blackie?" she called softly.

A pair of green eyes glowed in the darkness. It was Blackie, trapped in a small cage along with other cats. Mia's heart leaped with relief. "Blackie! I'm here!" she said, rushing to free him.

But before she could, a shadowy figure emerged, blocking her path. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the little ninja," the figure sneered.

Mia glared at the kidnapper. "Let them go, now."

The kidnapper laughed. "You think you can stop me? You're just a child."

Mia clenched her fists, her eyes burning with determination. "I am a ninja. And I will stop you."

The fight was on. Mia dodged the kidnapper's attacks with agility, using her wind powers to gain the upper hand. She fought fiercely, her thoughts focused on saving her beloved Blackie and the other cats.

As the battle raged, Jay and Zane arrived, using their elemental powers to assist Mia. With their combined efforts, they quickly overpowered the kidnapper.

Lloyd and Cole arrived just in time, smashing through the remaining obstacles and freeing the trapped cats.

Mia scooped up Blackie, hugging him tightly. "You're safe now," she whispered.

Blackie nuzzled her, purring loudly. "Thank you, Mia."

The team regrouped, their mission accomplished. The cats were safe, and the kidnapper was apprehended.

"That went well," Mia said, a smile breaking through her exhaustion.

Jay ruffled her hair. "You did great, Mia. We all did."

Mia nodded. " Well, that mystery is solved."

Blackie shook his head. " But we don't know who it was."

" On it." Cole went to the wrapped person and yanked his mask off.

It was Ras.

" Why am i not surprised?" Mia asked, crossing her arms.

" Wait, what?!" Jay yelled. " Do you never takw a break?!"

" No, I do not, Walker."  Ras growled.

" Ras needed help with his master plan of  scaring everyone out of the town."

" But why?" Cole asked.

" Because Ras found a gem that belonged to his family for ages. But when he was little, humans came to steal it. Humans that were elemental masters of... Well, all of us.

" When Ras heard we were coming, he had to use drastic measures. So he ' kidnapped ' cats and brought them here."

" You didn't really think I would harm them, did you? Cats are like family to me. We're from the same family." Ras said, crossing his arms.

" And now since we all know, why don't we get out of here!" Lloyd exclaimed as he saw Ras pull something out.

" Yeah, time to go. Nice chat with you. Byeeee!" Mia yelled, running to the car with the others.
