The hunt for the missing brother
The ninja were watching the parade when a dragon with white sparkles and pink body flew above them.
" Woah, did you see that?!" Lloyd exclaimed, pointing at it.
" Yeah, I did. And it was pretty spectacular." Kai replied.
" I wonder who it belongs to?" Cole added.
" Or who it is. It could be Rising Dragon Technique." Nya intervened.
A girl who was standing next to them gasped. " Nelson!" She exclaimed, shaking him like crazy. " Look!"
The boy standing next to her looked up. " Oh, my goodness!"
The dragon landed, and the two kids took off running.
" Should we follow?" Kai asked, pointing to the kids.
Lloyd shrugged. " Maybe. I mean, I really want to see who it is. Or who owns the dragon."
With a nod, they took off running behind the kids.
They ran past the parade and into the forest. The two kids approached the dragon, while the ninja hid behind trees and rocks.
" Nelson, Rose. Thank goodness you're here." The dragon said, its voice echoing through the forest.
" Anything for you, honey." Nelson said, hugging the dragon tight.
" What brings you out of your prison?" Rose asked.
The dragon sighed. " It was not a prison. And I'm fine. Really."
" Uh-huh. " Rose said, catching a glimpse of Nelson's face. He was shaking his head rapidly. It was better not to dig in any deeper.
Just then they heard footsteps approach.
" Hi, Ninja!" Jake said, walking to the group.
" Hello, Kai Junior." The dragon said.
" Hi, Nelson and Rose."
" Hi, Jake!" They said in unison.
" 'Ninja'?" Kai whispered. " Is the dragon's name Ninja? It is it code?!"
Cole shrugged. " I'm as clueless as you are, buddy."
" Where are the other people?" Jake asked, looking around.
The dragon, or Ninja, sighed. " They're on vacation."
" Oh."
" Anyway," Ninja said. " You must be wondering why I called you here."
The trio nodded.
" Did you all get my text and read the article?"
Again, nods.
" There's an administration person who has amnesia," Nelson started.
" He works in the Realm Reassignment, and is the manager," Jake continued.
" And he's missing ever since that day when he went to arret the people who helped Zane escape." Rose finished.
" Exactly! And, rumor has it that Sprite was there with the person." Ninja said. " And it showed the agent a piece of his past."
" So?" Jake asked.
" Sprite activated his powers!"
" Wait, he has powers?!" Rose exclaimed.
" Yep. And guess which powers it was?"
" Lightning?" Nelson guessed.
" Bingo. And I have a suspicion that the agent... Is my brother."
Ninja transformed from her dragon form. Claws turned to hands and feet. A pink gown, adorned with white jewels replaced the body. And her face was replaced with a peach colored face with long, brown wavy hair and a unique pattern of freckles. On her head was a hairband with a flower charm.
" I love looking at you when you do that." Nelson sighed, moving to the girls side.
The girl kissed him gently. " Anything for you, Nels."
" So, Mimi." Rose said, looking determined. " You want us to track your brother down?"
" Yes." Mia confirmed.
Rose sighed. " What about the ninja?"
Mia's eyes widened. " Oh, great."
" Oh great what?" Cole whispered.
Kai sighed. " I guess when we get home we have to pretend we never heard this conversation."
" But we can't just let her go by herself! She could get hurt!" Nya argued.
" She has two elemental power friends, four elements in her body, and a guy who knows how to act like me. She'll be fine." Kai replied.
The kids decided to pack and leave in the night. Mia used her wind powers to fly back and start packing, and Jake joined them as well.
"Okay, we need to move quickly," Mia said as she landed gracefully in her room. She pulled out a suitcase and started filling it with essentials. "Nelson, grab the maps and anything that might help us navigate. Rose, pack the supplies and make sure we have enough food and water. Jake, help Rose with the heavier stuff."
Nelson nodded and hurried to gather maps and navigation tools. Rose moved efficiently, packing medical supplies, food, and water into a large backpack, while Jake assisted with the heavier items.
As Mia packed, she felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. This mission was important, and she couldn't afford any mistakes. She glanced at a picture of her and the ninja, feeling a pang of guilt. They were her friends, and she was leaving without telling them. But she knew this was something she had to do.
After an hour of frantic packing, the quartet met in Mia's living room.
"Everyone ready?" Mia asked.
Nelson, Rose, and Jake nodded, their expressions determined.
"Good," Mia said, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Let's get out of here before anyone notices."
The four of them slipped out of the house and into the night, moving silently through the streets. Mia used her wind powers to lift them into the air, and they soared over the rooftops, heading towards the forest.
As they landed at the edge of the forest, Nelson looked back at the city. "I hope we're doing the right thing," he said quietly.
"We are," Mia replied firmly. "We have to find my brother and stop Sprite. The ninja will understand."
They pressed on into the forest, their path lit by the soft glow of the moon. They moved quickly but cautiously, aware that danger could be lurking anywhere.
After a while, they reached the clearing where the city and forest separated.
" From now on, we use Ninja for me, okay?"
" December, at your service !" Rose said.
" Kai Junior reporting for duty!" Jake added.
" Honeymuffin is next to you!" Nelson said.
"Good," Ninja said. "We don't have much time. Follow me."
Ninja led them deeper into the forest, her movements swift and sure. The trees closed in around them, creating a tunnel of darkness. The only sound was the rustling of leaves and the soft padding of their footsteps.
After what felt like hours, they reached a hidden cave. Ninja stopped at the entrance and turned to face them.
"This is where we'll set up base," she said. "From here, we can plan our next move and start searching for my brother."
Ninja looked around the cave, feeling a sense of determination. This was it. Their mission had truly begun. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but with her friends by her side, she was ready for whatever came next.
