Saving the penguins
Yes, I know you can't find penguins in 'Ninjago
And yes, it's about Mia.
Then again, all these books are about Mia.
Most of them.
Except the wedding ones.
* Jay*
Why do you love to talk?!
* Me*
Because you like to
* Cole*
At least she doesn't talk as much as you!
...
Sorry
Bro doesn't like thinking
But I think they're all at kiss for how to make Mia stop training.
A big loss.
Anyway, enjoy!!!
One early morning, Jay was sleeping peacefully when he felt a weight on his stomach. He ignored it at first, thinking it was Mia playing one of her usual pranks.
But then it started to honk.
"Eh, Mia must have turned on a sound track to confuse me," Jay mumbled, still half-asleep.
But when the creature on his stomach suddenly pecked him, his eyes flew open, and he sat up in shock, finding a black and white creature staring back at him.
"AIEEE!" Jay yelled, recoiling in surprise.
Just then, a young girl toddled into Jay's room, giggling and sucking her thumb. Jay blinked in confusion as he stared at the little girl.
"Uh, Mia?" Jay called out, his voice uncertain. "Why is there a baby in my room?"
No answer.
"Mia? And where'd all the penguins come from?"
When he didn't get a response, Jay scooped up the baby and peered into the hallway. His confusion deepened when he saw ice covering the floor.
Jay looked back at the baby in his arms, noticing a small remote in her hand. It looked very familiar—a very specific one.
He gently pried the remote out of the baby's hands and examined it closely. It was Zane's remote, the one that could control him.
"So that means..." Jay muttered to himself, realizing the implications. "The baby can control Zane? But where is Mia?"
Just then, Kai, Cole, and Zane came rushing into the room, out of breath and looking frantic.
"Oh, Mia!" Kai exclaimed, huffing as Cole took the baby out of Jay's arms. "We've been looking everywhere for you!"
Zane noticed Jay's bewildered expression and greeted him cheerfully. "Good morning, Jay! I take it you slept well?"
Jay stared at him, his mind spinning. "Okay, will someone please tell me, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!"
The three ninja exchanged a look, then sighed.
Zane stepped forward to explain. "Jay, when you were asleep, Mia received a distress call. The person on the other end reported finding penguins on the beach. Naturally, Mia wanted to investigate, and by the First Spinjitzu Master's grace, she found them."
Cole took over the story. "Mia brought them home, and at that time, Zane was testing a new device. Mia startled him, and... well..."
"She became younger," Kai finished. "She grabbed Zane's remote and commanded him to freeze everything."
Young Mia, now a toddler, laughed gleefully. "Ye, I di'. Now we in Antartice!"
Jay raised his brows in disbelief. "No, Mia. We are not in Antarctica."
Mia pointed to the hallway, her expression serious. "It snow. Eberyboe kow pengins coe fwom Antarice!"
Kai chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, she's smart, I'll give her that."
"Yeah, but now we have penguins in the monastery and a baby Mia!" Jay groaned, rubbing his temple. "Mia handles the rescues. We just go along for her sanity."
Before Kai could reply, they heard a loud, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" echoing from the hallway. A second later, they saw Master Wu sliding past Jay's room on his belly, his hat spinning peacefully behind him as he slid across the ice.
"Master Wu!" Jay exclaimed, stepping out of his room. The ice was slippery, and he was about to lose his balance when Nya appeared out of nowhere, catching him just in time.
"Oh, thank you, Nya! I love you!" Jay blurted out, grateful for her timely rescue.
They heard a crash from down the hall and, carefully sliding across the ice, made their way to the dining area, where they found Master Wu sprawled out on the floor, surrounded by broken furniture.
"Master Wu! Are you okay?" Cole asked, concerned as he slid to their master's side.
Mia giggled and clapped her hands, clearly enjoying the chaos. "Mater go boooom!"
Wu groaned as he looked up at her. "Who is that?"
"Mia," the group chorused in unison.
"How?" Wu asked, bewildered.
"It's a long story," Cole said with a sigh, helping Wu to his feet.
Meanwhile, Mia, still in her baby form, had positioned herself in front of Wu and made a playful face. "Master go boooom!" she said, imitating a crash with exaggerated gestures.
Wu, still shaking off the confusion, tried to maintain his composure as he looked down at the tiny troublemaker. "Mia, my dear, this isn't quite the way to handle things."
Mia giggled and waved her arms around. "Nooo, Master! Ihs pkuny! You go boom!"
Wu sighed, rubbing his temples. "I can see that. Let's get this cleaned up. Zane, do you still have the remote?"
Zane nodded, taking the remote back from Mia. "I'll work on reversing the effects."
Cole and Kai exchanged amused looks as they helped Wu clear the ice and penguins. Jay watched as Mia continued to laugh and play with the penguins, her mischievousness temporarily forgotten in the chaos of the morning.
"Alright," Jay said, shaking his head with a smile. "Let's get this sorted before the entire monastery turns into a winter wonderland.
Lloyd, who had just woken up, stumbled into the room, rubbing his eyes. "What's going on here?" he asked, looking around at the chaos.
Jay, still trying to piece everything together, sighed. "Mia got her hands on a remote that could control Zane. She froze everything and somehow turned the monastery into a winter wonderland with penguins everywhere. And now, she's making fun of Master Wu."
Lloyd's eyes widened. " Woah! It's like that time Mia kept going all over the world with the toot-"
Wu, cutting him off with a raised hand and a weary chuckle, said, "Do not remind me, please."
"Looks like everyone's having a great time," Lloyd said, trying to stifle a laugh.
Jay shook his head and smiled. "It's a mess, but I suppose we're all making the best of it."
Meanwhile, Mia was having the time of her life, waddling around and laughing as she watched the penguins slide across the icy floors. Jay, Cole, and Lloyd couldn't help but join in the laughter despite the chaotic morning.
" Eberybn go wip wip wip!" Mia giggled.
The monastery was a whirlwind of chaos and laughter as Jay, Cole, Kai, Lloyd, and Wu tried to navigate the icy terrain and herd the penguins back to where they belonged. Despite the madness, everyone couldn't help but find a bit of joy in the unusual situation.
Mia, still in her toddler form, had taken a special interest in the penguins, who seemed to be enjoying their unexpected adventure. She squealed with delight each time a penguin waddled by or slid across the ice.
Kai, who had been trying to clear a path through the ice, slipped and nearly fell but managed to catch himself. "Looks like we're all going to need ice skates to get through this," he joked, struggling to keep his balance.
Cole chuckled as he helped Wu up from the floor, shaking his head. "I think you're right. I never thought I'd see the day when Master Wu becomes a human sled."
Wu, who had finally regained his composure, glanced around at the mess and the laughing group. "This is certainly not how I envisioned starting the day. But I suppose it's good to see some lightheartedness amid the chaos."
Lloyd, trying to help round up the penguins, paused to watch Mia, who was now attempting to teach the penguins to do a little dance. "I think she's having the time of her life," Lloyd observed with a grin.
Jay, who had been diligently helping Zane with the remote, glanced over at the lively scene. "At least Mia's enjoying herself. Once we get everything sorted out, I think we might have to make a rule about not letting toddlers play with high-tech devices."
Zane nodded in agreement as he worked on reversing the remote's effects. "Agreed. It seems we've learned a valuable lesson today."
Finally, Zane managed to reverse the effects of the remote, and Mia began to return to her normal age. As she transformed back into her older self, she looked around at the chaos with a sheepish grin.
"I guess I got a bit carried away," Mia admitted, rubbing the back of her neck.
Wu, now regaining his usual calm demeanor, smiled gently at her. "Mia, you certainly have a unique way of bringing excitement into our lives. But perhaps next time, let's stick to less hazardous forms of fun."
Mia nodded, looking apologetic. "Sorry, Master Wu. I didn't mean to cause so much trouble."
With the help of everyone, the ice was eventually cleared, the penguins were safely returned to their proper place, and the monastery slowly returned to its usual state. Despite the challenges of the morning, the team had managed to find humor and camaraderie in the situation.
As they gathered around the dining table for a much-needed breakfast, Jay looked around at his friends and smiled. "Well, that was definitely one for the books. Here's to hoping the rest of the day is a bit less eventful."

Mia rolled her eyes. " Oh, come on!" She exclaimed. " We still need to get them home!"
Everyone groaned.
" Mia, the last time we sailed on the Bounty you nearly shredded us."
Coral, ever the overly eager seal, barked in agreement.
Mia shot Coral a look. " Oh, come on! You're siding with them too?"
Coral barked in agreement, and Mia sighed.
" Fine. I'll go alone to drop the penguins off." And with that, she set her toast down and walked to her room, where she began putting on her thickest jackets and packing blankets, hot packs, and even hot chocolate.
A few minutes later, to everyone's suprise, Mia emerged from her room, bundled up in multiple layers of warm clothing, her arms loaded with blankets, hot packs, and a thermos of hot chocolate. The penguins, now waddling in a line behind her, seemed to sense that their adventure was coming to an end.
Jay grabbed his camera, snapping pictures of Mia as she prepared for her solo mission. The penguins followed her excitedly, creating a comical procession through the monastery. Kai, observing the scene with a mix of amusement and concern, shook his head.
"If Mia keeps this up, we're going to have a photo album full of animals," Kai remarked with a chuckle.
Jay, busy taking more photos, grinned and agreed. "Yeah, and at this rate, we might end up with pictures of every creature imaginable."
As Mia continued to lead the penguins toward the exit, Jay's playful mood shifted to concern. He looked at Kai with wide eyes. "Wait a minute—she's actually going to do this alone?"
Kai's expression grew more serious. "Looks like it. We should probably make sure she's okay."
Without waiting for an answer, Jay quickly gathered a few of his own winter gear and rushed to catch up with Mia. "Mia! Wait up!"
Mia glanced back, slightly surprised to see Jay hurrying after her. "What's up, Jay? I told you I'd handle this."
Jay, catching his breath, adjusted his scarf and said, "I just thought I'd join you. It's kind of a big task, and you might need some help."
Mia's expression softened, and she nodded. "Alright. But you better be ready for a chilly adventure."
With Jay and Mia now leading the penguins together, they made their way out of the monastery. Kai and the others watched them go, shaking their heads with smiles on their faces.
"Guess we'll have to deal with the aftermath of this adventure," Kai said, turning to Cole and the rest of the group. "But for now, let's get things back to normal around here."
Meanwhile, they hiked down the steps, to their trusy ship.
" Can we fly this time?" Jay asked, his teeth chattering.
Mia activated her fire. " Nope. Sorry. The winds are too strong."
" But you're the wind ninja!" Jay argued.
Mia contemplated, then sighed. " Fine."
Then, to the penguins, she ordered, " Everyone on!"
The penguins, eager to board, waddled toward the ship with surprising enthusiasm. Mia and Jay helped them onboard, ensuring that everyone was settled comfortably. As the penguins found their spots, Jay adjusted his scarf and looked at Mia with a mix of hope and skepticism.
"Alright, Mia, if you say we can fly, I trust you. But this ship better not end up in a snowbank again," Jay said, his teeth still chattering from the cold.
Mia gave him a reassuring nod. "I promise, Jay. Just hang on tight. We're going to make this work."
With a determined look, Mia climbed into the pilot's seat and began the pre-flight checks. Jay stayed close, ready to assist if needed. The ship's engines roared to life, and Mia carefully maneuvered it through the snowy landscape.
However, as they climbed higher, the wind began to pick up. Jay's teeth chattered more intensely, and he shivered uncontrollably. He glanced at Mia, who was focused on maneuvering the ship through the increasingly turbulent air.
"Mia, it's getting really cold!" Jay shouted over the roar of the wind.
Mia, noticing Jay's discomfort, activated her fire powers to create a warm, comforting flame in the center of the ship. The warmth quickly spread, providing some relief to Jay. The penguins, in contrast, seemed to be thriving in the snowy environment, their flippers flapping excitedly as they playfully threw snowballs at the ninja.
"Hey! Watch it!" Jay called out as a snowball splattered against his cheek. He wiped the snow off with a grin, trying to stay warm.
Mia chuckled, her fire glowing brightly. "Looks like they're having a blast."
The penguins continued their frolic, and the sight of their playful antics brought a smile to Jay's face despite the cold. He watched as they slid around the deck and tossed snowballs at each other and Mia and Jay. A few stray snowballs hit the poor humans, causing them to laugh and duck as they tried to avoid the fluffy projectiles.
"Alright, you guys!" Mia called to the penguins. "Let's get back on track and get you home!"
With the warmth from Mia's fire making the ship more comfortable, and the penguins now thoroughly entertained by their snowy playtime, the journey became more enjoyable. Jay managed to capture some great photos of the penguins in their element, and Mia expertly navigated the ship through the gusty winds.
Until lightning struck.
" Jay! Use your powers!" Mia yelled over the roar of the lightning, trying to keep the ship steady.
Jay nodded, and zapped the lightning back.
" YOU'RE WELCOME!" he yelled.
Mia smiled. " THANKS, DRAMA."
" YOU- HEY! I'M NOT DRAMA! THAT'S KAI!"
" BUT KAI'S NOT HERE!"
" True." Jay stopped yelling and focused on his sister, who seemed too happy. It made his teeth hurt.
"Then again it could also be the cold." Jay admitted, shaking his head. "But seriously, let's try to get out of this storm before we end up as a lightning rod."
Mia nodded, her focus sharpening as she maneuvered the ship through the storm's turbulence. Despite the chaotic weather, she was determined to get them home safely. The penguins, meanwhile, seemed to be enjoying their wild ride, sliding around the deck and squawking with delight.
Jay continued to use his powers to counteract the lightning strikes, each zap making him feel more invigorated. He kept an eye on Mia, who was expertly handling the ship and steering them through the storm.
The storm raged on, but with Jay's lightning control and Mia's navigation skills, they gradually managed to push through the worst of it. The ship's hull groaned under the strain, but it held steady as they made their way back toward the monastery.
As the storm began to subside and the clouds started to clear, the ship emerged into calmer skies. The first rays of dawn broke through, casting a warm glow over the icy landscape.
Mia let out a sigh of relief as the ship steadied, her smile widening as she looked at Jay. "We did it! The storm's passing, and we're almost home."
Jay wiped his brow and looked around, seeing the storm's remnants fading into the distance. "Yeah, and we made it through without turning into a giant lightning conductor."
Mia chuckled, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "You know, you did pretty well back there. Even if you are a bit of a drama queen."
Jay grinned and nudged her playfully. "Well, I guess we make a pretty good team. Thanks for trusting me to help out."
Mia smiled back, her earlier excitement tempered by the calm after the storm. "Anytime, Jay. It's always an adventure with my scared brother."
" Tha- Hey!"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
They were eating food.
Canned food.
Canned food which consisted of beans, pickles, and a sandwhich.
Or two.
" Mmmmmmm, this is so good!" Jay exclaimed, stuffing his mouth with pickle.
Mia raised her brow but didn't say anything.
Then, a snowball went hurling to Jay.
" Ow!" He exclaimed, shooting a glance at the penguins, who were chattering happily. " What was that for?"
" maybe it's the fact that we're headed STRAIGHT FOR A MOUNTAIN!" Mia scrambled to the deck, grabbing the wheel.
" Haha, very fu-" He stopped dead when he saw the sight.
There really was a mountain.
And they were headed straight for it!
" Mia, change course!" Jay panicked.
" I'm trying!"
Mia wrestled with the wheel, her eyes wide with determination as she fought to steer the ship away from the looming mountain. Jay, his face pale with shock, scrambled to assist her, trying to keep the ship steady amidst the chaos.
The penguins, oblivious to the danger, continued their playful antics, sliding and squawking on the deck. Jay shot a frantic glance at them and then back at Mia, who was focused intently on adjusting the ship's trajectory.
"Come on, Mia, we need to get out of the way!" Jay shouted, his voice filled with urgency.
"I'm working on it!" Mia yelled back, her hands gripping the wheel tightly as she maneuvered the ship. The ship groaned and shuddered, reacting to the sharp turns and sudden adjustments.
With a final heave, Mia managed to turn the ship sharply to the right, veering it away from the mountain. The ship shuddered as it changed course, and Jay's heart pounded as he watched the mountain recede from view.
"Whew, that was close," Jay said, letting out a relieved sigh as the ship steadied. He glanced at Mia, who was still breathing heavily from the effort.
"Yeah, too close," Mia agreed, wiping the sweat from her brow. She shot Jay a quick, amused look. "You know, we really should have checked the navigation charts before taking off."
Jay shook his head, still trying to calm his racing heart. "Well, at least we avoided a disaster. But seriously, let's be more careful next time."
Mia nodded, her expression shifting to one of determination. "Agreed. No more flying straight into mountains. Now, let's get to Antarctica so we can go back to the monastery and enjoy some food that isn't out of a can."
Jay grinned, feeling a mixture of relief and camaraderie. "Sounds like a plan. Just let's avoid any more surprise mountains on the way."

They look the same
Anyway
As Mia and Jay prepared to resume their journey, the penguins on the deck suddenly grew restless, their cheerful chattering turning into uneasy murmurs. Jay noticed the change in their behavior and looked over the edge of the ship.
"What’s got them all worked up?" Jay asked, squinting into the distance.
Mia followed Jay’s gaze and gasped. “What in the world—?”
Just below the ship, an octopus was waving its tentacles energetically, trying to get their attention. The sight was bizarre, especially with the penguins watching in wide-eyed fascination.
“Is that... an octopus?” Jay asked, his eyes widening in surprise as he took a picture.
“Yep, looks like it,” Mia said, her curiosity piqued. “And it seems to be signaling us.”
The octopus continued to wave its tentacles, its movements almost frantic. It seemed as though it was trying to communicate something important.
Mia and Jay exchanged puzzled glances. “Should we check it out?” Jay asked, his tone cautious but intrigued.
Mia nodded, still keeping an eye on the octopus. “Yeah, let’s see what it wants. Maybe it’s trying to warn us about something.”
They carefully lowered a small boat from the ship and made their way toward the octopus, who greeted them with what seemed like an enthusiastic wave.
As they approached, the octopus made a series of quick gestures, pointing toward a nearby ice shelf. Mia squinted and then spotted what the octopus seemed to be indicating: a small, dark shape partially hidden by ice.
“Looks like there’s something over there,” Mia said, steering the boat closer to the ice shelf. The octopus followed, swimming alongside them.
Jay watched as Mia carefully navigated the boat to the indicated spot. As they drew closer, the dark shape became clearer—a small, abandoned research station, half-buried in the snow.
Mia looked at the octopus, who seemed to be pointing at the station. “You’re trying to tell us something about this place?”
The octopus gave a series of enthusiastic waves, then vanished beneath the water, leaving Mia and Jay to explore the station.
“Let’s check it out,” Jay suggested, climbing out of the boat and approaching the research station with Mia.
Inside, they found signs of an old expedition—faded maps, weathered equipment, and a few scattered notes. Among the items was a logbook detailing the station’s work on penguin migration patterns and local wildlife observations.
“Well, this is certainly unexpected,” Mia said, flipping through the logbook. “Looks like this place was used for studying penguins and other creatures.”
Jay nodded, examining some of the equipment. “And it seems like it’s been abandoned for a while. Maybe the octopus was trying to draw our attention to it.”
Mia agreed, setting the logbook aside. “It’s possible. Maybe it was looking for help or wanted us to discover this place.”
With the research station explored and the mystery of the octopus somewhat solved, Mia and Jay returned to their ship, ready to head back to the monastery.
As they set sail once more, Jay looked at Mia with a grin. “Well, today’s been full of surprises. Let’s hope our next adventure is a bit less... eventful.”
Mia chuckled, steering the ship as they made their way home. “Agreed. But knowing us, I wouldn’t count on it.”
As Mia and Jay sailed away from the abandoned research station, the sky darkened ominously. A sudden storm rolled in, the wind howling and the waves growing choppy.
Mia gripped the wheel tightly, trying to keep the ship steady as lightning flashed across the sky. Jay, who was struggling to keep his footing, shouted over the roar of the wind, “Mia! We need to get through this storm!”
“I’m doing my best!” Mia yelled back, her voice barely audible over the noise. She fought to steer the ship, but the storm's fury was relentless.
Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind sent the ship veering off course. Mia struggled to regain control, but the ship was tossed around violently. Before they knew it, the ship was plummeting toward a dense forest, its descent quickening.
“Brace for impact!” Mia shouted, as the ship crashed through the treetops with a series of loud, splintering noises.
The ship finally came to a halt, embedded among the trees. Jay, shaken and disoriented, scrambled to his feet and looked around in disbelief.
“Great. Just great,” Jay muttered, glaring at the surrounding trees. “Why can’t anything ever go smoothly?”
Mia, equally stunned, tried to assess the damage. “We’ve got to get the ship out of here and find our bearings.”
Jay, frustrated, started yelling at the trees. “Hey, trees! Can’t you show some respect? We’re just trying to get these penguins home!”
The trees, of course, did not respond, and the absurdity of the situation seemed to break through Jay’s frustration. He started laughing despite himself. “Well, this is new. Yelling at trees.”
Mia chuckled as she began checking the ship’s condition. “Well, we’ve definitely had our share of adventures. Let’s just hope this is the last one for a while.”
Jay, still chuckling, helped Mia clear the debris and assess the damage. “Looks like we’re going to need to make some repairs. At least we’re not in any immediate danger.”
As the storm began to subside, Mia and Jay worked together to free the ship from the tangled branches. With the rain easing up, they were able to make some temporary fixes and prepare to continue their journey.
Once the ship was somewhat cleared, Mia looked at Jay and said, “Ready for another round?”
Jay, now in better spirits, grinned. “You know what? Let’s get this over with. We’ve faced worse.”
With renewed determination, Mia and Jay set sail once more, navigating their way through the forest and back onto the open sea. The storm had caused them a significant delay, but their resilience and teamwork had kept them moving forward.
As the ship continued its journey, the temperature began to plummet rapidly. Jay shivered uncontrollably, his breath coming out in visible puffs. He looked around at the increasingly icy surroundings and said, “I think we’re in Antarctica!”
Mia, now fully realizing the situation, nodded as she watched the ship’s surroundings turn into a frozen landscape. “Wow, this place is incredible. But we need to land soon.”
Jay quickly grabbed his camera and started taking pictures of the striking ice formations and snowy expanses. “This is amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this up close.”
Mia, though captivated by the beauty of the icy landscape, was focused on safely landing the ship. “Okay, let’s get this ship down. We don’t want to be out here any longer than we have to.”
With Mia expertly navigating the ship through the cold, Jay continued to take pictures, capturing the dramatic ice-covered scenery. “This is going to make for some great photos,” he said, his teeth chattering as he snapped away.
Mia adjusted the ship’s controls, carefully guiding it towards a suitable landing spot on a flat, snowy expanse. “Alright, I’m bringing us in. Hold on tight!”
The ship descended smoothly onto the snow-covered ground. Once it was safely landed, Mia and Jay climbed out, stepping into the frigid Antarctic air. Jay took one last series of photos, marveling at the breathtaking, icy wilderness around them.
“Looks like we’ve made it,” Jay said, looking around at the snowy terrain. “This place is beautiful, but freezing!”
The penguins hopped off the ship and started sliding all over the place, as if nothing happened. Jay giggled as he took pictures, and Mia have a satisfied nod.
They saved yet another animal.
