Rescue Mission - Lovebirds edition

Mia sighed as she knitted away.

Knit, knit knit. It was nice, really.

She had made a sweater for Jay, Nya, Cole, Zane, Lloyd, and Master Wu. Now, she was knitting a second sleeve for Kai's.

She carefully chose a nice orange to resemble fire. She knitted the pattern in, and went back to the original red color.

Just as Mia was going to finish the sleeve,  Kai burst in.

" Have you seen your brother or my sister?" He asked, worried.

" No. But, I'm almost finished with your sweater." Mia replied, her eyes still in her needle.

" Happy almost done sweater to me. But, really, where are they? I haven't seen them since this morning."

Mia paused. " Wait, you're not joking, are you?"

Kai shook his head, and Mia muttered, " Great."

" Great? What's great?"

Mia sighed. " I think Wu sent them on a bonding mission. Because, lately, they've been fighting."

" But they're a couple. Fighting is literally what couples do."

" Yes, but this week, they've been so caught up in their own drama, they're not playing their  part in missions."

" Oh. So, where did he send them?"

Mia shrugged. " I don't know. Do I have a long white beard and tell you to clean your room?"

Nooooo.... But we could go ask him."

Mia set her knitting aside. " Good idea."

They ran to their dear old Master's door and, without knocking, barged in.

" Master Wu!" Mia yelled without realizing what she was doing. " Where are my sister and brother?!"

" Mia!" Kai hissed. " He's meditating."

Mia sighed, and retrieved a stick.

" Oh, no." Kai whispered. " Mia, don't!"

" He's meditating, and this is the only way to bring him to the real world."

Kai sighed. " Just tell in his ear."

" I can't. He's used to it." Mia lifted the stick, but before she could strike, Wu opened his eyes.

" Why, hello, Mia and Kai. Care to explain why you are holding a stick and interrupting my meditation?"

Mia sighed. " Wu, where are my other family members?"

" Like?"

Mia groaned in frustration. " You know who I'm talking about! Jay and Nya!"

" Oh, them. They were fighting a lot. So I sent them to Mount Pleasant."

Mia almost ripped her head off. " Master," she said, her voice dangerously low. " Did you ever consider asking a wind ninja to tell you the wind levels up there? Or to figure out the weather?"

Wu shook his head. " It is a nice mountain. I go there to meditate a lot."

Kai groaned. " But what if today was different."

"They are a lovely couple who look out for each other. They will be fine."

" But they're both so different!" The desperate siblings said in chorus.

Wu smiled. " You both are different, yet you are teaming up right now to confront me."

Mia sighed, and turned to Kai. " Kai, you are one of the original green ninja protectors, who, as Zane said, are ' doomed', for unknown reasons. The others need you."

" But Mia," Kai argued. " You're young, and this trip could be dangerous."

Mia snorted. " Dangerous is my middle name."

" No it's not. It's Elizabeth." Zane called from the kitchen.

Mia sighed. " It's called sarcasm, Zane."

Then, she turned to Kai. " Pack a bag and make it light. We leave tonight on Sapphire."

Blackie strolled in with an air of confidence.

" Packed your bag, Mia." He said.

Mia giggled. " You just packed snacks and a nightsuit, didn't you?"

"
