Plane ride

Lloyd and Garmadon were sitting together in the airplane.

It was a disaster.

First, when they sat, Garmadon thought it was too... Dangerous.

So he strapped Lloyd in tight.

And asked for five others.

" Dad, I'm fine," Lloyd tried to protest, but Garmadon wouldn't hear it.

Long story short, he miiiight have bandaged him up.

To look like a mummy.

And Lloyd was giving him a ' really?' look, but Garmadon didn't even notice.

" You'll thank me later." He said.

Then, when they were taking off, Garmadon hugged him tight.

Like a teddy bear.

Choking him.

" Dad... I can't breathe." He wheezed.

" Safety first!" Garmadon said.

Then, Lloyd needed the bathroom.

Garmadon gave him a diaper.

Lloyd asked, "What's this for?" holding up the diaper with a bewildered expression.

Garmadon replied confidently, "For you! It's for your safety and convenience."

Lloyd tried to protest, "Dad, I don't need a diaper! I'm not a baby."

But Garmadon was already leading him to the airplane's tiny bathroom. Ignoring Lloyd's protests, Garmadon deftly ripped his pants off and started putting the diaper on him.

"Dad, seriously?" Lloyd exclaimed, his face turning red with embarrassment.

"You'll thank me later," Garmadon said, securing the diaper. "Now you have your shirt and diaper. You'll be fine."

Lloyd, standing there in just his shirt and diaper, gave his father an exasperated look. "Dad, this is ridiculous. What if someone sees me?"

Garmadon smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry, son. Your safety is my top priority. And besides, no one will see you. Just stay calm and enjoy the flight."

Lloyd sighed, resigned to his fate, and shuffled back to his seat. As he sat down, he couldn't help but notice the amused glances from other passengers.

As they settled back into their seats, Lloyd muttered, "I really hope this flight ends soon."

Garmadon, oblivious to Lloyd's embarrassment, patted him on the back and said, "Just relax, son. Everything is under control."

During snack time, Garmadon took a bite of each pretzel to make sure there was no poison in them.

"Nope... Nope... Nope...." he muttered as he sampled each one.

Lloyd rolled his eyes. "Dad, please. Stop. They're just pretzels."

Garmadon ignored him, finally handing over a thoroughly inspected pretzel. "Better safe than sorry, son."

As the flight continued, Garmadon decided it was time for Lloyd to rest. He cradled his son in his arms, much to Lloyd's chagrin, and began to sing a lullaby. Unfortunately for Lloyd, it was a rather disturbing one, filled with ominous lyrics about ninjas and shadows.

"Sleep, my dear ninja, in the dark of night,
Where shadows creep and monsters take flight.
Rest your head, don't make a sound,
For danger lurks all around."

Lloyd's eyes widened as he listened to the eerie song, trying to squirm out of Garmadon's grip. "Dad, this isn't helping me sleep. It's creepy."

Garmadon continued undeterred, swaying gently as he sang the next verse.

"Close your eyes and drift away,
Where enemies and villains can't make you sway.
In the dream world, you're safe and sound,
But beware the shadows that are all around."

Lloyd, thoroughly disturbed, finally managed to wriggle free. "Okay, Dad, I think I'm good now. No more lullabies, please."

Garmadon looked at him, a bit disappointed. "But it's our special song."

Lloyd gave him a weak smile, trying to be patient. "I know, Dad. But maybe we can save it for another time. Let's just get through this flight, okay?"

Garmadon nodded, wrapping his arm protectively around Lloyd. "Alright, son. But remember, I'm always here to keep you safe."

Lloyd sighed, leaning back in his seat. "I know, Dad. I know."

As the plane began its descent, Garmadon instinctively reached out and pulled Lloyd close, holding him tightly.

"Dad, I can handle this part on my own," Lloyd tried to assure him, but Garmadon wasn't having any of it.

"It's dangerous during landing, son. Better safe than sorry," Garmadon insisted, his grip firm.

Lloyd sighed, knowing it was pointless to argue. He endured the tight embrace, feeling like a child again despite his ninja status.

As the wheels touched down and the plane came to a stop, Garmadon finally released his hold. "There, safe and sound," he said, looking proud of himself.

Lloyd stretched and took a deep breath, relieved to be free from his father's overprotective grip. "Thanks, Dad. I appreciate it."

Garmadon smiled, patting Lloyd on the back. "Anytime, son. Remember, I'm always here to protect you."

Lloyd couldn't help but smile back, despite the embarrassing moments. "I know, Dad. Let's just get our bags and head home."

They gathered their belongings and made their way off the plane, Lloyd hoping their next adventure would involve a little less parental overprotection.

But as they reached baggage claim, Lloyd's eyes widened in horror as Garmadon unveiled a stroller. "Dad, no way," Lloyd muttered under his breath, but Garmadon was already setting it up.

"Lloyd, it's for your safety," Garmadon said firmly. He turned to Jay and instructed, "Jay, push him, please."

Jay hesitated, glancing at Lloyd with a mix of confusion and sympathy. "Uh, sure, Garmadon," he replied, taking hold of the stroller.

Misako approached them, her eyes narrowing as she took in the sight of her son in a stroller. "Lloyd, did your dad do this?" she asked, barely able to contain her amusement.

Lloyd sighed deeply. "Yes, Mom, Dad did this."

Just then, Wu, who had been sipping his tea, dropped his cup in shock. "Nephew... what?" he exclaimed, his usually calm demeanor shattered.

Lloyd could only shrug helplessly. "Dad," he repeated, trying to convey all the exasperation and embarrassment in that single word.

Kai walked up, took one look at the situation, and burst into laughter so hard that he had to hold onto a luggage cart to stay upright. "This is priceless!" Kai managed to say between bouts of laughter.

Zane, ever the observer, tilted his head. "Garmadon, do you not think Lloyd is a bit too old for a stroller?"

Garmadon waved off the question. "Safety first, Zane. Safety first."

Cole joined in, chuckling as he snapped a quick photo. "This is going on the team wall," he announced.

Lloyd buried his face in his hands. "Can we just get our bags and go home?" he pleaded.

Garmadon patted him on the back. "Of course, son. Let's get you home safely."

As they finally made their way to the exit, the rest of the team tried to stifle their laughter, but Lloyd knew this would be a story they'd be telling for a long time.

On the bus ride home, Garmadon looked over at Misako and asked, "Misako, could you please change Lloyd's diaper?"

Misako's eyes widened in shock. "He's wearing a diaper?!"

Garmadon nodded solemnly. "Yes, for his safety and convenience. You know how I am about these things."

Misako tried to stifle her laughter. "Garmadon, he’s a teenager! You didn’t really need to bring that along."

Lloyd, sitting in the stroller, groaned. "Mom, please, not in public."

Misako glanced at Lloyd and then back at Garmadon, trying to keep a straight face. "Alright, but only because you asked," she said, reaching for the diaper bag.

As Misako prepared to change Lloyd, he mumbled, "I can't wait to get home and never speak of this again."

The bus ride continued with a mix of awkward glances and stifled chuckles from the team, each one enjoying the spectacle in their own way.

As they approached the steps leading up to the house, Garmadon pulled out a leash and attached it to Lloyd’s stroller.

Lloyd’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Dad, seriously? A leash?”

Garmadon nodded, his expression firm. “Safety first, son. I don’t want you getting lost.”

Lloyd sighed in resignation. “Okay, but can we please keep this just between us?”

Misako tried to contain her laughter, and the rest of the team watched with varying degrees of amusement. “Maybe we should save the leash for the next family outing,” Misako suggested, attempting to keep the mood light.

Wu raised an eyebrow but couldn’t help chuckling. “Nephew, your dad does have a unique approach to parenting.”

Kai, still recovering from earlier, added, “I think this might be the most creative safety measure I’ve ever seen.”

Garmadon proudly led the way up the steps, Lloyd trailing behind with the leash. “Don’t worry, son. Just think of it as extra protection.”

Lloyd shook his head, trying to ignore the giggles from his friends. “Yeah, Dad. Extra protection.”

As they finally reached the top, Lloyd muttered, “Can’t wait to get inside and ditch the leash.”

Garmadon, oblivious to the amusement he caused, smiled proudly at his efforts. “We made it safely, didn’t we?”

Lloyd groaned. " Oh, boy." He muttered.
