Nya's Birthday 🎊🎂
" Do I have to?" Someone whispered.
" Yes!* Another urged.
The first person sighed. " Fine ."
He walked to the sleeping water ninja and shook her. " Wake up."
The ninja, confused, took one look at the person and yelled. " GET OUT OF MY ROOM!"
There was giggles. Nya turned to see her sister, holding a camera and laughing. It all made sense.
" Okay, Jay. You can take the clothes off." Mia sputtered, still chuckling.
Nya slapped her head and helped her Yang up. " Your sister has some ideas ."
" Yeah. She made me do this and bribed me that she would give me a day with absolutely nothing out of the ordinary."
Nya raised a brow. " Wow. That's some bribe."
" Anyway, happy birthday!" Jay kissed Nya's hair, and Nya wrapped her arms around Jay's body
" Thanks. But next time, please tell your sister not to scare me like that "
" Oh, no. I won't. Now to hit the editing!" She ran with the camera as the other two stared.
" Well, I make waffles. With chocolate chips. Want some?" Jay asked, finally breaking the silence.
Nya nodded. " Let me just go change."
Jay nodded and kissed her again before leaving her.
Nya went to the bathroom and freshened up. Then, she stepped out of the bathroom, refreshed and dressed in a cute sky-blue gown paired with white leggings and sneakers. The outfit looked effortlessly stylish, a perfect blend of casual comfort and elegance. Her hair was still slightly tousled from sleep, but she looked radiant.
Jay was already busy in the kitchen, the aroma of freshly made waffles wafting through the air. He was flipping the waffles with practiced ease, a sprinkle of chocolate chips waiting to be added. The kitchen was a cozy space, filled with the comforting sounds of breakfast preparation.
Nya approached the kitchen, her eyes lighting up as she saw Jay working. "It smells amazing in here," she said with a smile.
Jay looked up, his face brightening. "I'm glad you think so! I've got waffles ready, just how you like them."
Nya sat at the kitchen counter, watching as Jay finished preparing the waffles. The playful energy from earlier seemed to have settled into a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Jay slid a plate of waffles in front of Nya, topped with a generous amount of chocolate chips.
"Here you go. I hope you're hungry!" Jay said, handing her a fork.
Nya took a bite and sighed contentedly. "These are perfect, Jay. Thank you."
Jay smiled, taking a seat beside her. "Anything for you. And I'll definitely make sure Mia gets the memo about scaring you next time. But you have to admit, it was pretty funny."
Nya chuckled, shaking her head. "Yeah, I guess it was. But maybe let's stick to less startling surprises in the future."
Jay nodded in agreement. "Deal."
After finishing their breakfast, Jay's eyes twinkled with excitement. "I have a cruise appointment today to see blue whales and dolphins!"
Nya's face lit up with enthusiasm. "That sounds incredible! I've always wanted to see dolphins up close."
Jay grinned. "I thought you'd like it. We should get ready soon; the cruise departs in a couple of hours."
Nya nodded eagerly. "Let me just grab my things and change into something more suitable for the cruise."
Jay stood and helped clear the table, his excitement palpable. "Great! I'll start getting things together too. I'm so looking forward to this."
Nya quickly changed into comfortable, casual clothes suitable for a day on the water-a light sundress and sandals. She joined Jay, who was busy organizing their essentials for the cruise: sunscreen, a camera, and a light jacket just in case.
As they prepared to leave, Nya smiled at Jay. "I'm really looking forward to today. Thanks for planning this."
Jay gave her a warm smile. "I'm glad you're excited. It's going to be an amazing experience."
..........
" Look at her go!" Nya cheered as Jay quickly snapped pictures while holding onto his hat.
" Uh, nya?" Jay asked as they went on another wave, sending him up. " Maybe we should slow down?"
" Nonsense! This isn't fast!"
Jay gulped but held onto the railings, turning a bit green.
Nya, noticing this, motioned for the driver to go a bit slower. He nodded and they went a bit slower.
" Nya, look!" Jay exclaimed as he snapped away.
Nya ran to his side. " Oh, it's amazing!"
There were orcas.
A whole pod of orcas.
Leaping out of the water and spinning.
" It's... Beautiful." Jay put an arm around Nya, and she leaned in. She rest her head on his chest, feeling his steady heart.
As they stood there, mesmerized by the sight of the orcas, Nya felt completely at peace. The rhythmic sound of the ocean waves, combined with the sight of the majestic creatures leaping and spinning, created a perfect moment.
Jay, still holding his camera, couldn't help but capture the scene. "This is incredible. I've never seen anything like it."
Nya smiled up at him. "Neither have I. I'm so glad we're here together."
Jay looked down at her, his eyes softening. "Me too. Moments like this... they're what make everything worth it."
The orcas continued their graceful dance in the water, and the boat's gentle rocking added to the tranquility of the moment. Nya's hand found Jay's, and they stood there, fingers intertwined, soaking in the beauty around them.
The captain of the boat announced over the speaker, "Ladies and gentlemen, you're witnessing something truly special today. A pod of orcas rarely performs like this. Consider yourselves very lucky."
Jay grinned, squeezing Nya's hand. "We are lucky."
Nya nodded in agreement, her eyes reflecting the joy and wonder she felt. "It's like they're celebrating with us."
The orcas seemed to respond to the sentiment, with one particularly large orca leaping higher than the others, sending a cascade of water into the air. The droplets sparkled in the sunlight, creating a temporary rainbow that arched over the water.
Nya gasped softly. "Did you see that, Jay?"
Jay nodded, still snapping photos. "I got it! This is going to be the highlight of the trip."
As the pod gradually moved away, continuing their journey through the vast ocean, Jay and Nya stayed at the railing, watching until the last orca disappeared from view.
Nya finally broke the silence. "This is a day I'll never forget."
Jay smiled and kissed the top of her head. "Neither will I."
The boat continued to glide smoothly over the water, heading back towards the dock. The sun was beginning to dip towards the horizon, painting the sky with shades of pink and orange. Jay and Nya remained close, content and happy, knowing they had shared something truly magical together.
As they ventured a bit further into the ocean, the water grew calmer, and the sun's rays began to cast a golden glow across the horizon. Suddenly, the surface of the water rippled, and to their amazement, a pair of massive blue whales emerged, their backs gliding smoothly through the waves.
Nya's eyes widened in awe. "Whoa! Look at the size of them, Jay!"
Jay stood beside her, equally captivated. The majestic creatures moved with such grace and power that it was impossible not to be mesmerized. "It's... beautiful," he said, his voice almost a whisper.
He turned to look at Nya, who was still staring at the whales in wonder. A soft smile played on his lips as he watched her. "Almost as beautiful as you," he added, his voice filled with sincerity.
Nya glanced up at him, a blush coloring her cheeks. She smiled warmly, her heart swelling with affection. "You always know what to say, don't you?"
Jay shrugged playfully, leaning in a little closer. "Only when it's true."
They both turned back to the whales, watching as one of them breached the surface, sending a huge spray of water into the air. The sheer size and grace of the whales were breathtaking, and Jay couldn't resist capturing the moment with his camera. But for a second, he lowered it, wanting to take in the scene with his own eyes, savoring the experience with Nya.
"This has to be one of the best days ever," Nya murmured, still in awe of the sight before her.
Jay nodded in agreement. "It's pretty hard to top, that's for sure."
The boat slowed down, allowing everyone on board to take in the full splendor of the whales. The deep, resonant calls of the blue whales echoed across the water, adding to the magic of the moment. Jay and Nya stood close together, their hands entwined, sharing a quiet but profound connection as they watched the gentle giants of the sea.
Nya leaned into Jay, resting her head on his shoulder as the whales slowly disappeared beneath the surface, their enormous tails creating ripples that spread far and wide.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in rich hues of orange and pink, Nya looked up at Jay with a contented sigh. "Thank you for this, Jay. It's been an incredible birthday."
Jay smiled down at her, his eyes full of warmth. "Anything for you, Nya. I'm just glad I could make it special."
Nya kissed his cheek softly. "You always do."
With the whales now out of sight, the boat started its journey back to shore. Jay and Nya stayed at the railing, soaking in the last moments of their ocean adventure, knowing that this day would be one they'd remember forever.
As they reached the shore and prepared to disembark, Jay turned to Nya with a playful grin. "So, what's next on the birthday agenda?"
Nya laughed softly. "You've already made this day unforgettable, Jay. I think anything after this is just a bonus."
Jay chuckled. "Well, I'm not done yet. But first, how about we grab some dinner? I know a place with great seafood."
Nya smiled, her eyes sparkling. "That sounds perfect."
After their unforgettable encounter with the blue whales, Jay and Nya decided to cap off the day with a visit to a sushi restaurant that Nya had been wanting to try for a while. The place was cozy and traditional, with paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling and soft, ambient music playing in the background.
As they were seated at a small, private booth, Jay scanned the menu with a mix of curiosity and excitement. "I think I'm going to try the chef's special," he said, pointing to a section of the menu that featured a variety of fresh sushi rolls.
Nya nodded in agreement, her eyes twinkling with anticipation. "That sounds perfect. I'll have the same."
When the sushi arrived, it was beautifully presented on a large wooden platter, with an array of vibrant colors and textures. There were delicate slices of tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, alongside artfully crafted rolls filled with avocado, cucumber, and spicy crab.
Jay picked up a piece of sushi with his chopsticks and dipped it into the soy sauce. As he took a bite, his eyes widened in delight. "This is amazing," he said, savoring the rich, buttery flavor of the fish. "I've never tasted anything like it."
Nya smiled as she took her own bite, closing her eyes to fully enjoy the experience. "It really is," she agreed. "The fish is so fresh, and the rice is just the right texture. I'm glad we came here."
They continued to eat, sharing pieces of sushi and trying different combinations of flavors. The meal was a perfect blend of simplicity and sophistication, and it felt like a true celebration of the day they'd shared together.
As they finished their meal, Jay leaned back in his seat with a satisfied sigh. "I think this might be the best sushi I've ever had," he said, his tone content.
Nya nodded, equally pleased. "It's definitely up there. And the company makes it even better," she added with a smile.
Jay grinned, reaching across the table to take her hand. "I couldn't agree more."
They lingered at the restaurant for a while longer, enjoying each other's company and the peaceful atmosphere. When they finally left, the night air was cool and refreshing, and they walked hand in hand down the street and up the stairs, feeling closer than ever after such a perfect day.
When Jay and Nya arrived back at the monastery, the sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the ancient building. As they stepped inside, they were greeted by the sight of Kai busily arranging a table full of gifts. The sight made Nya smile; her brother always went out of his way to make her feel special.
Kai looked up as they entered, his face lighting up with a grin. He walked over and enveloped Nya in a warm hug. "Happy birthday, sis!" he said, squeezing her tightly.
Nya returned the hug, her heart swelling with affection. "Thanks, Kai," she said, pulling back slightly to look at him. "I'm so lucky. Both my favorite boys are here."
Jay, standing nearby, smiled at the sentiment. But before he could respond, Nya suddenly pushed him toward Kai, causing the two brothers-in-law to stumble into a hug. It took them a second to realize what had happened, and when they did, they both froze, looking down at their awkward embrace.
"Wait a minute..." Kai muttered, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Nya, who was struggling to hold back her laughter.
Jay quickly put two and two together, and his expression turned into one of mock horror. "You tricked us!" he exclaimed, stepping back from Kai.
Kai took a step back as well, his face scrunched up in exaggerated disgust. "Ew, gross!" he said, shaking his arms as if to rid himself of imaginary cooties.
Nya couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing, clutching her sides. "Got you both!" she managed to say between giggles.
Jay and Kai exchanged a look, then simultaneously pointed at Nya. "You're so going to pay for that!" they said in unison, but their smiles betrayed their amusement.
Nya just winked and crossed her arms confidently. "Bring it on, boys."
Nya's laughter echoed through the monastery as Jay and Kai playfully chased her around the courtyard. She darted between pillars, trying to stay out of their grasp, but the two were determined. Jay was the first to catch up, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close.
"Gotcha!" he exclaimed, grinning ear to ear.
Kai quickly followed, joining the hug from the other side. Together, they sandwiched Nya between them, squeezing her in a warm, tight cuddle.
"Escape this, sis!" Kai teased, holding her firmly.
Nya, still laughing, tried to wriggle free but found herself completely surrounded by the two most important men in her life. "Alright, alright, you win!" she giggled, feeling their warmth and love all around her.
Jay leaned his head on Nya's shoulder, his voice softening. "We're just making sure you know how much we love you."
Kai nodded in agreement, his grip on her loosening just enough to look at her. "So, what's next, birthday girl? Do you want to open your gifts first, or should we dive into that delicious cake I made?"
Nya smiled, looking from one to the other. "Hmm, tough choice," she said, pretending to ponder. "But I think... gifts first!"
"Good choice!" Jay said, releasing her but keeping his hand in hers as they walked back toward the table where the presents were waiting.
Kai grabbed the cake as they settled down, a smile on his face. "Cake right after, then," he added, his eyes twinkling with the joy of the day.
With Nya between them, they began to unwrap the gifts, savoring each moment. It was a day full of love, laughter, and the deep bonds that held them together, making it one of the best birthdays Nya could remember.
First, Kai reached for a small, elegantly wrapped box and handed it to Nya. "This one's from me," he said with a smile, his eyes glinting with excitement.
Nya carefully unwrapped the box, revealing a delicate necklace inside. Her breath caught as she saw the charm-a beautifully crafted orca, its sleek body shimmering in the light.
"Kai, it's beautiful," Nya whispered, her fingers gently tracing the charm. The orca was so detailed, it almost seemed to come to life.
Kai grinned, pleased with her reaction. "I remembered how excited you were when we saw the orcas earlier today, and I thought you'd like to keep a little piece of that moment with you."
Nya looked up at him, her eyes filled with emotion. "It's perfect. Thank you, Kai."
She leaned in and hugged him tightly, the necklace clutched in her hand. Jay watched with a smile, feeling the warmth of the moment.
"Let me help you put it on," Jay offered, taking the necklace and carefully fastening it around Nya's neck. The orca charm rested just above her heart, a reminder of the day's adventures and the love they shared.
Nya touched the charm, a soft smile on her lips. "I'm so lucky to have both of you."
Kai ruffled her hair affectionately. "We're the lucky ones, Nya. Happy birthday."
They spent a few more moments admiring the necklace before moving on to the rest of the gifts, but the orca charm stayed close to Nya's heart, a symbol of the special bond she shared with her brother and her husband.
Then, Jay reached for a small, velvet box, presenting it to Nya with a nervous smile. "I got this for you," he said, his voice a mix of excitement and apprehension.
Nya opened the box slowly, revealing a delicate bracelet. The charm was a perfect blend of lightning and water, symbolizing both Jay's and her elemental powers. The craftsmanship was exquisite, with tiny droplets of water and bolts of lightning intertwined in a graceful dance.
Nya's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at the bracelet. "Jay, it's... it's beautiful."
Jay, seeing her tears, panicked. "Oh no, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to upset you. I can return it, if you don't like it-"
"No, Jay," Nya interrupted, shaking her head as she wiped away her tears. "It's not that. It's perfect. It's just so thoughtful, and it means so much to me."
Jay breathed a sigh of relief and pulled Nya into a tight embrace. "I'm glad you like it," he murmured, holding her close.
Nya hugged him back, her tears mingling with a smile. "Thank you, Jay. It's exactly what I needed."
They stayed like that for a moment, savoring the warmth and love between them, before pulling back slightly. Jay gently took Nya's wrist and fastened the bracelet, its lightning and water charms glinting softly.
With the bracelet now adorning her wrist, Nya looked at it with a contented smile. "I'll treasure this always."
Jay smiled, relieved and happy. "I'm glad. Happy birthday, Nya."
The celebration continued as Lloyd, Cole, Zane, Mia, and Wu arrived with their gifts for Nya, each one thoughtfully chosen to reflect her love for the ocean.
Lloyd was the first to present his gift. He handed Nya a beautifully crafted necklace with a pendant shaped like a seashell. "I thought you'd like this," he said with a smile. "It's got a touch of the sea, just like you."
Nya's eyes lit up as she carefully examined the necklace. "Thank you, Lloyd. It's gorgeous!"
Cole followed with a stylish blue bag adorned with ocean-themed patterns. "I figured you might need something new for your adventures," he said, grinning. "It's got plenty of space for all your beach essentials."
Nya opened the bag to reveal its spacious interior and laughed. "It's perfect, Cole. I can't wait to use it."
Zane came next, holding a sleek underwater-themed watch with a translucent blue band. "I know how much you love the ocean," he said. "I thought this would be a nice reminder of it, even when you're not near the water."
Nya admired the watch, her fingers tracing the intricate details. "It's beautiful, Zane. I'll think of the ocean every time I check the time."
Mia, who had been quiet but noticeably excited, stepped forward with a delicate bracelet that shimmered with tiny blue and silver charms resembling various sea creatures. "I made this for you," she said shyly. "I thought it'd be a nice addition to your collection."
Nya was touched as she slipped the bracelet onto her wrist. "Mia, it's lovely. Thank you so much."
Finally, Master Wu entered with a box wrapped in blue paper, decorated with seashells and starfish. "Happy birthday, Nya," he said warmly. "I hope this gift brings you joy."
Nya unwrapped the box to find a set of intricate ocean-themed coasters, each one designed with a different marine creature. "These are perfect for the summer," she said, beaming. "Thank you, Master Wu."
As the gifts were exchanged, the room was filled with joy and excitement. Nya, overwhelmed by the love and thoughtfulness of her friends and family, hugged each person warmly.
"Thank you all so much," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "This means more to me than you could ever know."
As the party continued, everyone gathered around the table for the cake. The room was filled with the rich aroma of chocolate and vanilla as the candles flickered on the beautifully decorated cake.
Jay, always curious, leaned in and asked, "So, Nya, what did you wish for?"
Nya smiled softly, her eyes reflecting the warmth of the moment. "Nothing. I have my wish right here." She looked around at her friends and family. "All of you."
Jay's heart swelled with emotion as he took Nya's hand. "May I have this dance?"
Nya's eyes sparkled with joy as she replied, "Sure."
The two of them moved to the center of the living room, where Jay gently guided Nya into his arms. The soft music playing in the background set a romantic tone as they danced gracefully together.
Kai, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but roll his eyes and slap his forehead. "Oh, come on," he said with a chuckle. "They've got to be serious. In the living room?"
But the Yin Yang couple didn't hear
They were too busy dancing
