Jay's bond with Mia
This is different from my other ones. In this one they're all a big family and Wu has a wife named Carolina.
... I just like the name
Anyway
When Mia Walker Garmadon first arrived at her humble abode when she was born, Zane, Kai, Cole, and Jay were waiting anxiously.
There was just one problem -she wouldn't stop crying. Day and night, she would wail. Everyone tried to calm her down- Wu, Carolina, Zane, Cole, and Kai. Nothing would work. But when Jay asked, they refused.
“ You're too young.” Carolina would say.
“ The baby is too premature.” Wu added.
One day, Jay, who woke up in the middle of Mia's tantrums, was determined to calm her down. Creeping in, he extended his hand to Mia's crib and whispered,
“ Hey there. It's me. Your big brother, Jay.”
All at once, Mia stopped crying. She took Jay's hand with her small, chubby one. Jay smiled and slowly picked her up and took her to the rocking chair.
Then, the door burst open. The others, who had heard this peace they hadn't heard for a while, were curious to know who stopped Mia's crying. When they saw Jay and Mia, though, they refused to believe it.
Carolina snatched her child from Jay's hands.
“ Jay Walker!” She scolded. Who are you to-”
Her lecture was interrupted by Mia's cries. She walked once more, her tiny throat still strong.
Jay, who was fuming, snatched the baby out of his mom's hands and into his.
Carolina gasped, but before she could say anything, Wu stepped forward, placing a calming hand on her shoulder. "Wait," he said gently, "let's see."
Jay, his heart pounding, held Mia close to his chest. He rocked her gently and whispered soothing words, "Shh, it's okay, Mia. Big brother's here."
To everyone's amazement, Mia's cries softened to whimpers and then to quiet breaths. She snuggled into Jay's embrace, her tiny fingers gripping his shirt.
Wu nodded thoughtfully. "It seems Jay has a special connection with Mia," he said. "Sometimes, even the youngest among us can have a calming presence."
Carolina's expression softened as she watched her son and daughter together. "I'm sorry, Jay," she said quietly. "I was just worried."
Jay looked up, his eyes meeting his mother's. "I understand, Mom. But I want to help. Mia needs all of us, and I want to be there for her."
Zane, Kai, and Cole exchanged glances, their previous skepticism replaced with admiration for Jay's determination and care.
Wu smiled warmly. "Very well, Jay. You may help take care of Mia. It's clear she feels safe with you."
From that day on, Jay became Mia's go-to comforter. Whenever she cried, Jay would be there, calming her with his presence. The bond between them grew stronger, and Mia thrived, surrounded by the love and support of her family.
In the weeks that followed, everyone adjusted to their new roles. They watched in awe as Jay's gentle nature continued to bring peace to Mia, and they learned to trust in the unique bond that had formed between the siblings.
One evening, as the family gathered in the living room, Mia lay contentedly in Jay's arms. Carolina smiled at the sight, her heart full of gratitude. "Thank you, Jay," she said softly. "For being such a wonderful big brother."
Jay beamed, his heart swelling with pride. "Anything for Mia," he replied, kissing the top of his sister's head. "Anything."
******
"Jay, we think it's best if Mia learns to be soothed by others," Carolina explained one afternoon. "She needs to be able to adapt."
Jay's heart sank. He had become so accustomed to being Mia's source of comfort that the idea of being separated from her was unbearable. "But Mom, Mia needs me. I can help her," he pleaded.
Wu placed a hand on Jay's shoulder. "We understand, Jay. But this is for her own good. She needs to develop other bonds too."
Reluctantly, Jay agreed. The next day, Carolina and Wu implemented the new plan, keeping Jay and Mia apart. Mia's cries filled the house once more, and Jay's heart ached with every wail he heard from his sister.
Days turned into weeks, and the separation took its toll on both siblings. Mia's crying became almost constant, and no one else could soothe her the way Jay did. Jay, on the other hand, fell into a deep sadness. His once bright and cheerful demeanor faded as he missed the closeness he shared with Mia.
Carolina and Wu began to notice the changes. Jay withdrew from his usual activities, spending more time alone. Mia's health and spirits also seemed to decline without her brother's comforting presence. The entire household felt the weight of the separation.
One night, Wu and Carolina sat down to talk. "I don't think this is working," Wu admitted. "Mia and Jay are both suffering."
Carolina nodded, tears in her eyes. "I thought we were doing the right thing, but it's only made things worse. Mia's cries are heart-wrenching, and Jay... he's not himself anymore."
The next morning, Wu called Jay into the living room. "Jay," he began gently, "we've seen how hard this has been on you and Mia. We were wrong to separate you two."
Jay's eyes filled with hope. "Does that mean...?"
Carolina smiled, tears of relief streaming down her face. "Yes, Jay. You can be with Mia again. We realize now that the bond you two share is special and important."
Jay didn't need to hear another word. He rushed to Mia's crib and scooped her up, holding her close. Immediately, Mia's cries ceased, and she nestled into Jay's embrace, her small hand clutching his shirt just like before.
As Jay rocked Mia gently, the house filled with a sense of peace and rightness. Carolina and Wu watched, their hearts full of gratitude for their son's unwavering love and the powerful connection he had with his sister.
From then on, the family made sure to respect the bond between Jay and Mia, allowing them to be together while also encouraging Mia to develop her independence in a supportive environment. The siblings' depression lifted, and the household slowly returned to a state of harmony and joy.

As the years passed, Mia grew from a fragile infant into a spirited child. However, her dependence on Jay remained unwavering. From the moment she learned to speak, she exclusively addressed Jay as "Daddy," and their bond grew even stronger. Jay, now a teenager, embraced his role with love and dedication, cherishing every moment with his sister.
Despite her growth, Mia showed little interest in interacting with anyone other than Jay. Conversations with her parents, Carolina and Wu, were rare and strained. Whenever anyone else tried to engage her, Mia would retreat into her shell, speaking only in brief, hesitant phrases or not at all.
One sunny afternoon, Carolina and Wu decided to address the issue. They gathered in the living room, where Mia was sitting on Jay’s lap, coloring a picture of the two of them.
"Jay, we need to talk," Carolina began, her voice tinged with concern. "We've noticed that Mia only speaks to you and calls you ‘Daddy.’ It's becoming a problem."
Jay looked up from Mia's drawing, his face a mix of worry and affection. "I know, Mom. She just feels more comfortable with me."
Wu nodded, his expression thoughtful. "We understand that Mia has a special bond with you, but she needs to learn to communicate with others as well. It’s important for her social development."
Jay's heart sank. He gently set Mia down, though she immediately clung to his leg. "What are you suggesting?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
"We think it’s time to start encouraging Mia to interact with others," Wu explained. "Maybe we can arrange for some activities or therapy sessions that will help her open up."
Jay sighed, looking at Mia's anxious face. "But she’s so attached to me. I don’t want to force her into anything she’s not ready for."
Carolina reached out and placed a comforting hand on Jay's shoulder. "We understand. It will take time, and we'll do it gradually. We just want to make sure she has the opportunity to grow and thrive."
Later that week, Carolina and Wu arranged a meeting with a child psychologist, Dr. Larkin, who specialized in social development. Jay, Mia, and the rest of the family arrived at the cozy office, where Dr. Larkin greeted them warmly.
Jay sat on the couch with Mia, and his brothers leaned against the walls.
Carolina and Wu sat across from them, trying to discuss ways to help Mia. As they spoke, Mia's eyes filled with tears. She turned to Jay, her small fingers gripping his shirt tightly. “Why does everyone except you hate me?” she asked in a trembling voice.
Jay was taken aback, his heart aching at her words. “What?” he said, bewildered. “Oh, Mia. They’re not trying to hurt you. They’re doing what they think is best for you.”
Mia shook her head, her tears falling freely. “But me and you are best for me. If you don’t want me…”
Jay’s eyes widened in shock. “What?! Mia, I love you! Why would I ever want to give you away?”
Mia’s voice was barely above a whisper. “I don’t know. Your evil parents talk about giving me away.”
Jay’s face tightened, torn between defending his parents and comforting Mia. He wanted to explain that Carolina and Wu were also her parents and that they loved her deeply, but he held back. Instead, he focused on soothing Mia, who seemed to be drowning in her fears.
Jay wrapped his arms around Mia, his voice firm yet gentle. “Mia, listen to me. Carolina and Wu, they’re not evil. They love you just like I do. They’re trying to help you grow, but they don’t want to push you away. And neither do I. I want you to know that I’ll always be here for you.”
Mia looked up at Jay, her eyes searching his for reassurance. “But why do they talk about giving me away?”
Jay sighed, feeling the weight of the situation. “Sometimes adults make decisions they think are right, even if they don’t always explain them well. But I promise you, Mia, you’re not going anywhere. You’re my sister, and I’ll always be here for you.”
Carolina and Wu, who had been listening from a distance, approached quietly, their hearts heavy with regret. Carolina knelt beside Jay and Mia, her eyes filled with tears. “Mia, we’re so sorry if it seemed like we wanted to push you away. That was never our intention. We just wanted to make sure you were growing up strong and confident.”
Wu nodded, placing a comforting hand on Mia’s shoulder. “We love you very much, Mia. We’re learning how to support you better, and we’re here to help you, just like Jay is.”
The doctor nodded. " Jay will have to okay a crucial role. He has to introduce everyone to Mia, and show her they're not evil or anything."
Jay nodded. " Okay. I'll do it."
The next day, Jay decided it was time to start introducing Mia to the rest of the family and easing her fears. The first person on his list was Kai, who was staying with them for a few days.
Jay found Kai in the kitchen, where he was experimenting with a new recipe. The kitchen was filled with the aroma of spices and sizzling ingredients.
“Kai,” Jay called, walking in with Mia by his side. “I’d like you to meet someone.”
Kai looked up, a smile spreading across his face. “Hey, Jay! And who’s this?”
“This is Mia,” Jay said, gently guiding Mia forward. “She’s a little nervous about meeting everyone, so I thought I’d introduce you.”
Mia clung to Jay’s leg but peeked out from behind him. She eyed Kai’s spiky hair with a mixture of curiosity and mischief.
Kai crouched down to Mia’s level, his expression warm and inviting. “Hi there, Mia. I’m Kai. Nice to meet you.”
Mia’s eyes twinkled as she took in Kai’s spiky hair. “Why does your hair look like a porcupine?” she asked with a cheeky grin.
Kai chuckled, running a hand through his hair. “Well, it’s just my style. I guess you could say it’s my signature look.”
Jay stifled a laugh, while Kai played along, striking a dramatic pose. “It’s my special fire ninja hair! It helps me stay cool in battle.”
Mia giggled, stepping a little closer. “Really? Does it make you shoot fire out of your head?”
Kai laughed, shaking his head. “No, but it does make me look pretty cool, don’t you think?”
Mia nodded, her smile growing. “I guess so. Can you show me how you do your ninja moves?”
Kai’s eyes lit up. “Absolutely! How about a little demonstration?”
With Jay’s encouragement, Kai performed a few simple moves, demonstrating his agility and skill. Mia watched in awe, her initial hesitation fading as she became captivated by Kai’s performance.
“Wow, that’s amazing!” Mia exclaimed, her fear melting away. “Can you teach me some of those moves?”
Kai beamed. “Sure! We can start with some basic moves and work our way up.”
Jay watched with relief and pride as Mia’s attitude shifted from fearful to enthusiastic. Kai’s engaging personality and playful response had clearly made a positive impact on Mia.
As they continued their day together, Kai made sure to interact with Mia in a friendly and supportive manner. They played games, and Kai even let Mia help with a simple cooking task, further easing her nerves and helping her feel more comfortable.
By the end of the day, Mia’s trust in Kai had grown, and she was more open to meeting others in the family. Jay felt a surge of hope as he saw Mia beginning to relax and enjoy her time with Kai.
With Kai’s successful introduction under their belt, Jay was optimistic about the next steps. He knew that each family member would bring their own unique qualities to help Mia feel more at ease and supported.
As they wrapped up their day, Jay looked at Mia with a smile. “You did great today, Mia. I’m really proud of you.”
Mia beamed up at Jay, her earlier fears now replaced with excitement. “Thanks, Daddy. I’m glad I met Kai. He’s really nice.”
Jay hugged her close, feeling a deep sense of accomplishment. “We’ve got more people to meet, and I’m sure you’ll like them too.”
The next day, Jay decided it was time for Mia to meet Cole, another important person in their family. Cole had been busy working on a new project in the garage, where he was tinkering with various tools and materials. Jay led Mia to the garage, hoping for another successful introduction.
As they entered, Cole looked up from his workbench, his hands covered in grime. He wiped his hands on a rag and greeted them with a friendly smile. “Hey, Jay! And who’s this?”
“This is Mia,” Jay said, guiding Mia forward. “Mia, this is Cole. He’s a big part of our family too.”
Mia eyed Cole’s strong build and muscular arms with curiosity. Her gaze then shifted to his shirt, which was straining against his movements. She squinted and asked, “Will your shirt rip off?”
Jay’s eyes widened in surprise, and he coughed awkwardly. “Uh, Mia? What? That’s…not really what I meant.”
Mia’s innocent question lingered, and she continued, “Isn’t he the guy you love? The one you want to marry?”
Jay sputtered, caught completely off guard by Mia’s comment. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment. “W-what? Mia, that’s not… I mean, Cole and I are close, but—”
Kai, overhearing the exchange, burst into laughter. “Looks like Jay’s face says it all!” he joked, clapping Jay on the back.
Mia turned to Kai, who had come to join them, and said with a grin, “See? Even the spiky porcupine agrees.”
Kai snickered, shaking his head. “You’ve got that right, Mia. Jay’s always been pretty open about how he feels about family.”
Jay managed a weak smile, though he was still red-faced. “Well, Mia, Cole and I are very close, but that doesn’t mean we’re…you know, marrying each other. We’re just family.”
Cole, trying to regain his composure, approached Mia with a friendly smile. “Hi there, Mia. I’m Cole. I’m glad to meet you. And don’t worry about my shirt—it’s just the way I work. No rips here!”
Mia looked up at Cole, her curiosity still evident. “Okay. But why were you laughing at Daddy?”
Cole chuckled and ruffled Mia’s hair gently. “Because Jay was surprised, that’s all. We’re all family here, and we like to tease each other sometimes.”
Mia seemed to accept this explanation, her apprehension easing as she observed Cole’s friendly demeanor. Jay felt a mix of relief and amusement as he watched the interaction unfold. Despite the awkwardness, the family’s genuine affection for Mia was clear.
Throughout the rest of the visit, Cole made an effort to engage with Mia in a playful and supportive way. He showed her some of his projects and even let her help with a small task, which Mia enjoyed immensely.
By the end of the day, Mia’s trust in Cole had grown, and she seemed more comfortable with him. Jay felt grateful for Cole’s good-natured response and was hopeful that each new introduction would continue to help Mia feel more at ease.
As they left the garage, Jay put his arm around Mia and smiled. “You did really well today, Mia. I’m proud of how you’re handling meeting everyone.”
Mia looked up at Jay with a bright smile. “Thanks, Daddy. I’m glad I met Cole. And Kai too. They’re both nice.”
Jay felt a sense of accomplishment and warmth. “We’ve got more people to meet, and I know you’ll get to know them too. Let’s keep going.”

One morning, Jay woke up early and decided to check on Mia, who had been unusually quiet in her room. As he walked in, he was surprised to find her sitting at her small drawing table, deeply engrossed in her artwork. Her little brow was furrowed in concentration as she colored with crayons.
Curious about what she was working on, Jay approached her quietly. Mia looked up with a bright smile and held up her drawing for him to see. Jay’s eyes widened as he took in the image: it was a colorful sketch of him and Cole, locked in a kiss.
Jay blinked in surprise, unsure of how to react. “Uh, Mia… what’s this?” he asked, trying to keep his voice gentle and composed.
Mia beamed, clearly proud of her work. “It’s you and Cole! I thought it would be nice if you were happy together.”
Jay felt a mix of amusement and embarrassment. He knew that Mia’s understanding of relationships was still developing, but this drawing was definitely unexpected. “Oh, Mia… that’s really sweet, but Cole and I are just really close friends. We’re not… well, we’re not actually like that.”
Just then, Kai walked by and caught sight of the drawing. He stopped in his tracks, eyes widening as he took in the artwork. A grin spread across his face. “Wow, Jay. This is pure gold!”
Jay looked at Kai with a mix of relief and exasperation. “Kai, not you too. I was just trying to explain to Mia that—”
Kai cut him off with a chuckle, still admiring the drawing. “Come on, Jay, it’s hilarious! And honestly, it’s kind of heartwarming. Mia’s got a great imagination.”
Mia’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. “You like it, porcupine?”
Kai nodded, kneeling down beside her. “I do! It’s a really creative drawing. You’ve got a lot of talent, Mia.”
Jay sighed, a smile tugging at his lips despite his earlier discomfort. “Well, I guess if everyone else thinks it’s funny, I shouldn’t be too worried.”
Mia giggled and nodded, pleased with the positive feedback. “Thanks, Kai! I like drawing happy things.”
Kai ruffled Mia’s hair affectionately. “Keep it up, Mia. Your drawings are always going to be special, no matter what they show.”
Jay felt a sense of relief as he watched Mia’s face light up with happiness. He knew that Mia’s drawing was a reflection of her innocent and loving nature, even if it wasn’t exactly how things were in reality.
In the afternoon, Jay was busy working on some tasks around the house when he heard Cole yelling his name. Concerned, Jay hurried down the stairs, wondering what could be wrong.
As he reached the bottom, he found Cole standing in the living room, holding Mia’s drawing with an incredulous expression on his face. Cole’s eyes were wide, and his mouth was slightly agape.
“Jay!” Cole exclaimed, holding up the drawing. “What is this?!”
Jay’s heart sank as he saw the picture in Cole’s hands. It was the same drawing of him and Cole kissing that Mia had shown him earlier. Jay took a deep breath, trying to keep his composure.
“Well, um,” Jay began, scratching the back of his head, “that’s a drawing Mia did this morning.”
Cole’s eyebrows shot up. “A drawing? Of us… kissing?”
Jay nodded, trying to find the right words. “Yeah, she’s got a big imagination and doesn’t quite understand everything yet. I tried to explain to her that you and I are just close friends, but… well, you see how it turned out.”
Cole’s initial shock gave way to a mix of amusement and embarrassment. “I can’t believe she drew this! I mean, it’s pretty funny, but also a little awkward.”
Jay chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. “Yeah, it’s definitely a unique piece of art. Mia meant well, though.”
Cole glanced at the drawing again and shook his head with a smile. “Well, I guess it’s a good thing we’re family and can laugh this off. It’s just… unexpected.”
Jay nodded, relieved that Cole was taking it in stride. “Absolutely. I’m just glad it’s brought a bit of humor into the day.”
Cole laughed, handing the drawing back to Jay. “Well, I suppose this will make for a good story someday. And who knows? Maybe it’ll end up being one of those family legends we tell.”
Jay grinned, accepting the drawing and holding it up. “Yeah, definitely a story for the books. Thanks for being cool about it, Cole.”
Cole clapped Jay on the back. “No problem. Just promise me that the next drawing isn’t going to involve us in a wild battle or something.”
Jay laughed, appreciating Cole’s good humor. “Deal. I think we’re safe for now.”

The next morning, Jay was going about his day when he heard Mia humming happily in her room. Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to check in on her. When he entered, he was greeted by the sight of Mia proudly holding up a new drawing.
Jay’s eyes widened as he took in the image: it depicted Kai and Cole at a wedding, locked in a kiss, surrounded by a bunch of children. The drawing was colorful and detailed, showing a joyful scene of celebration.
Jay’s face turned pale, and he felt a wave of dizziness. “Mia… what’s this?” he managed to ask, his voice trembling slightly.
Mia looked up with a big smile. “It’s a picture of Kai and Cole getting married! And they have lots of kids!”
Jay felt his knees go weak, and he had to sit down quickly to avoid fainting. “Uh… wow. That’s quite a drawing.”
Before Jay could recover, Kai happened to walk by and noticed the drawing. His eyes widened in horror as he saw the depiction of himself and Cole in a wedding scene with children. Without a word, Kai turned and dashed to the bathroom.
From the bathroom, Kai’s groans and sounds of retching could be heard. Jay’s face flushed with embarrassment and concern. He knew Kai was sensitive about his image and didn’t anticipate this reaction.
Jay quickly moved to Mia’s side. “Mia, honey, I think maybe we should… um… let’s not show this one around, okay?”
Mia looked puzzled. “Why? Is it not good?”
Jay forced a reassuring smile. “It’s very creative, but I think we might need to save this one for a special occasion. How about we keep it just between us for now?”
Mia nodded, though she looked a bit disappointed. “Okay, Daddy. I’ll put it away.”
Jay quickly took the drawing and tucked it away safely, hoping to avoid further embarrassment. He then knocked softly on the bathroom door. “Kai? Are you okay in there?”
Kai’s voice came from behind the door, sounding strained. “I’ll be out in a minute, Jay. Just… give me a moment.”
Jay sighed, rubbing his temples. He knew that managing Mia’s well-intentioned but sometimes awkward drawings would be a challenge, but he appreciated Kai’s good humor and patience.
As Kai eventually emerged from the bathroom, he looked a bit pale but managed a weak smile. “I’m sorry about that. I didn’t expect… well, that.”
Jay nodded sympathetically. “It’s okay, Kai. I didn’t expect it either. We’ll talk to Mia about drawing different things from now on.”
Kai chuckled weakly, nodding in agreement. “Yeah, let’s do that. And thanks for understanding.”
Jay smiled gratefully. “Of course. We’re a family, and we’ll get through these moments together.”

The following morning, Jay was going about his usual routine when he heard Mia’s cheerful humming from her room. Intrigued by what she might be working on, Jay decided to see her latest creation. As he entered Mia’s room, he was greeted by Mia holding up a new drawing with a big grin on her face.
The drawing depicted Cole flexing his muscles in an exaggerated pose, with Jay and Kai kneeling beside him, their faces showing adoration and worship. The image was vibrant and detailed, showcasing Mia’s boundless imagination.
Jay’s eyes widened in shock. “Mia, what’s this?”
Mia beamed with pride. “It’s a picture of Cole being the strongest, and you and Kai are worshipping him because he’s so amazing!”
Before Jay could respond, Kai walked by and spotted the drawing. His eyes went wide as he took in the scene. In his shock, he staggered back and fainted, collapsing onto the floor.
Jay’s heart raced as he rushed to Kai’s side. “Kai! Are you okay?” he asked, shaking Kai gently.
Mia’s face grew concerned as she watched the commotion. “Oh dear. Are they dead?”
Jay’s face went pale, his mind racing. “What? No, they’re not dead! They’re just—”
At that moment, Cole entered the room, having heard the commotion. He caught sight of the drawing and saw Kai unconscious on the floor. Cole’s reaction was immediate; he fainted and fell on top of Kai, adding to the chaos.
Mia looked even more worried. “Daddy, are they both dead?”
Jay was flustered, trying to process the scene before him. He quickly knelt beside Kai and Cole, trying to rouse them. “No, Mia. They’re not dead. They just fainted from shock. Let me take care of them.”
Mia watched in silence, her big eyes filled with worry. “I’m sorry, Daddy. I didn’t mean to make them faint.”
Jay took a deep breath, doing his best to remain calm. He managed to help both Kai and Cole regain their senses. After a few moments, Kai began to stir, his face still pale. Cole, still lying on top of Kai, slowly woke up as well.
Jay looked at them both with a mix of relief and frustration. “Are you two alright?”
Kai blinked and groaned, rubbing his head. “Yeah… just a bit overwhelmed. That drawing was a lot to take in.”
Cole, still disoriented, slowly got up and looked at Mia with a weak smile. “Well, that’s one way to start the day. I guess I didn’t expect to be worshipped in quite that manner.”
Mia, feeling guilty, walked up to Cole and Kai. “I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to make you faint. I just thought it was a nice picture.”
Jay sighed, placing a comforting hand on Mia’s shoulder. “It’s okay, Mia. It’s just… a bit too much for some of us. Maybe we can try drawing something a bit less dramatic next time.”
Kai nodded, giving Mia a reassuring smile. “It’s alright, Mia. We just need a little time to get used to your… creative ideas.”
Cole chuckled weakly, still trying to shake off the last remnants of his fainting spell. “Yeah, just keep in mind that not everyone reacts the same way to your drawings. They’re great, but maybe save the worship scenes for another time.”
Mia nodded earnestly, her worry easing as she saw the smiles on their faces. “Okay. I’ll draw something else next time.”

Just one last one. I found it funny
The next morning, Jay was once again busy with his usual routine when Mia came bursting into the room, her latest drawing clutched in her hands. She looked excited, eager to show off her new creation.
Jay braced himself as Mia presented the drawing. To his surprise, the image depicted a group of grandfathers engaged in a kissing scene, with Jay, Kai, and Cole kneeling in reverence around them. The drawing was as colorful and detailed as ever, with the grandfathers looking cheerful and the trio of Jay, Kai, and Cole shown in exaggerated poses of adoration.
Jay’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Mia, what is this?”
Mia beamed, clearly proud of her work. “It’s a picture of a bunch of grandpas kissing! And look, you, Kai, and Cole are worshipping them!”
Jay took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. “Uh, Mia… why are there so many grandpas in this picture?”
Mia shrugged innocently. “I thought it would be nice to show lots of grandpas being happy. And you, Kai, and Cole are showing them how much you love them.”
Jay struggled to keep his composure. “Right. Well, this is definitely… different.”
Just then, Kai and Cole walked in, having heard the commotion. They saw the drawing and stopped in their tracks. Kai’s face turned a shade of red as he tried to hold back his laughter, while Cole looked both amused and bewildered.
Kai finally managed to speak through his laughter. “Oh, this is a new one. I never thought I’d see us in a worship scene with a bunch of grandpas.”
Cole, trying to stifle his own laughter, added, “This is certainly one of the more unique drawings we’ve had. I’m not sure how to react.”
Jay rubbed his temples, trying to make sense of the situation. “Well, this is definitely unexpected. I guess we’re adding a whole new layer to our family dynamics.”
Mia looked concerned as she saw the reactions from Kai and Cole. “Did I do something wrong again?”
Jay quickly reassured her. “No, Mia. It’s just… different from what we usually expect. We appreciate your creativity, but maybe we should try something a bit more conventional next time.”
Kai, still chuckling, nodded. “Yeah, let’s aim for something a bit more straightforward in the future. But it’s great that you’re so imaginative.”
Cole managed a grin. “Absolutely. It’s definitely never boring with your drawings around.”
Mia’s face brightened as she took their feedback in stride. “Okay! I’ll think of something new to draw.”
