Jay and the Administration
Kai barely had time to finish his sentence before Mia was already out the door, her determination igniting like a spark to dry wood. "Mia, wait!" he called after her, but she was already in the air, her wind powers propelling her forward at an incredible speed. The urgency in her heart drove her faster than she had ever flown before.
As she soared through the sky, Mia's mind raced. Jay, working for the administration? The very thought made her blood boil. The administration was the enemy—the ones who had caused so much pain, who had taken everything from her. The idea of Jay being one of them, even unknowingly, was unbearable. She clenched her fists, the wind whipping around her as her anger fueled her flight.
"No way," she muttered to herself, her voice barely audible over the rushing air. "No way he's with them. I'll get his memory back. I'll make him remember who he is."
The landscape blurred beneath her, but Mia didn't care about the distance or the obstacles in her path. All that mattered was getting to Jay, saving him from the grip of the enemy, and restoring what they had lost. The memory of her brother—the real Jay—was vivid in her mind. She could almost hear his laugh, see his smile, feel the comfort of his presence. That was the Jay she needed to find.
After what felt like an eternity, Mia finally spotted the administration's building looming in the distance. It was a cold, imposing structure, its walls as unforgiving as the people who worked inside. But Mia didn’t falter. She landed at the entrance, her feet barely touching the ground before she was sprinting toward the doors.
She stormed inside, ignoring the startled looks of the employees and the guards. They were unimportant, just obstacles in her way. Her focus was singular: find Jay, and nothing would stop her from reaching him.
"Mia, what are you doing here?" a guard shouted, recognizing her. But Mia didn’t even pause. She thrust her hand forward, a gust of wind sending the guard tumbling backward, clearing her path.
She navigated the corridors with purpose, her intuition guiding her as much as the fury driving her forward. Finally, she reached a room marked "Administration Office- Relocation Manager." Without hesitation, she kicked the door open, the force of her entrance sending papers flying.
Inside, Jay was sitting at a desk, looking up in surprise at the sudden intrusion. His face was familiar, yet there was something different in his eyes—something distant and unfamiliar.
"Jay!" Mia shouted, her voice cracking with emotion. She took a step forward, her eyes locking onto his. "It’s me, Mia!"
Jay blinked, confusion clouding his expression. "I… I’m sorry, who are you?" His voice was calm, polite, but it cut through Mia like a knife.
Mia’s heart ached at the emptiness in his gaze. "No… no, no, no," she whispered, shaking her head. "You’re Jay, my brother! You have to remember!"
Jay frowned, his brow furrowing as he tried to place her. "I work here… I don’t have any siblings," he said slowly, as if trying to convince himself.
Mia’s eyes filled with tears, but she quickly wiped them away. She couldn’t lose him again. Not now. Not like this. "Jay, listen to me," she pleaded, stepping closer. "You’re my brother. We’ve been through everything together. You can’t forget that! They took your memories, but I know you’re still in there."
Jay looked down at the desk, his hands trembling slightly. "I don’t remember…" he murmured, almost to himself. "But… why does it feel like I should?"
Mia took another step forward, her voice softening. "Because you do know me, Jay. Deep down, you know who you are. They might have taken your memories, but they can’t take away who you really are."
For a moment, there was silence. Jay’s eyes searched Mia’s face, something flickering in his gaze—recognition, perhaps, or a buried emotion struggling to resurface. He opened his mouth to speak, but the door behind Mia suddenly burst open, and guards rushed in, weapons drawn.
"Mia, step away from him!" one of them barked.
Mia spun around, her eyes narrowing as she faced the guards. But before she could react, Jay stood up, his voice firm. "No," he said, surprising both Mia and the guards. "Let her stay."
The guards hesitated, looking to one another for guidance. But Jay was already moving, stepping around the desk to stand beside Mia. "I… I think I remember something," he said, his voice faltering as he placed a hand on Mia’s shoulder. "I don’t know how, but I do."
Mia looked up at him, hope flaring in her chest. "Jay…"
He nodded slowly, as if coming to a realization. "Yeah… you’re my sister. I remember now. I don’t remember everything, but I know you’re my sister."
Mia flung her arms around Jay the moment he said those words, clinging to him as if letting go would make him disappear again. The tears came fast and hard, years of pent-up fear, pain, and loneliness all pouring out in heavy sobs. Her small frame shook with the force of her emotions, and she buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking his shirt.
Jay didn't say anything at first; he just held her tightly, one hand cradling the back of her head, the other wrapped securely around her. He felt her sobs against his chest, each one tearing at his heart. He pressed his cheek against her hair, closing his eyes as he tried to comfort her the best way he knew how. "It's okay, Mia," he whispered, his voice soft and soothing. "It's okay. Let it all out."
Mia’s sobs grew louder, her breath hitching as she struggled to speak between the tears. "I thought... I thought I'd lost you forever," she choked out, her voice trembling with the rawness of her emotions. "I was so scared, Jay... I didn’t know what to do without you..."
Jay’s grip tightened, his own emotions welling up inside him. He couldn't remember everything, but the depth of Mia's love, her pain, and her desperation was palpable. It was enough to make him feel like he had been ripped away from something incredibly precious. "I'm here now, Mia," he said softly, his voice breaking slightly. "I’m not going anywhere, I promise. We're together again."
Mia clung to him even tighter, as if trying to absorb his presence, to make sure he was real and not just a fleeting dream. She felt his warmth, the steady rise and fall of his chest, the way his hand gently stroked her hair. It was all so familiar, so achingly familiar, and it only made her cry harder.
Jay continued to hold her, rocking her slightly as if she were a child again, just like he used to do when she was upset. He knew how much she had gone through, how hard it must have been for her to keep going without him. He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, murmuring words of comfort as her sobs slowly began to quiet.
"I missed you so much," Mia whispered through her tears, her voice barely audible.
Jay smiled sadly, his own eyes misting over as he held her close. "I missed you too, Mia," he said softly. "More than you can ever know."
For a long time, they just stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, letting the moment sink in. Mia’s tears eventually subsided, replaced by a deep, overwhelming sense of relief. She wasn’t alone anymore. Jay was back. He was really back.
Finally, Mia pulled back slightly, just enough to look up at him. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying, but there was a spark of determination in them, a fierce protectiveness that had always been a part of her. "We’re going to fix this, Jay," she said, her voice strong despite the tears. "We’re going to get you back, all of you. And we’re going to make them pay for what they did to you."
Jay nodded, his heart swelling with pride at her resolve. "Yeah, we will," he agreed, wiping away a stray tear from her cheek. "Together."
Mia managed a small, shaky smile, the first genuine smile she had felt in what seemed like forever. "Together," she echoed, her voice filled with determination.
The door burst open, and several agents stormed in, their faces stern and suspicious. They fanned out, weapons at the ready, as they quickly surrounded Jay and Mia.
"Woah, woah, woah!" Jay exclaimed, stepping in front of Mia protectively, his hands raised in a defensive gesture. "She's my sister! Back off!"
One of the agents, a tall, intimidating man with a hardened expression, narrowed his eyes. "Impossible," he said coldly, glancing between Jay and Mia. "The Jay Walker we know doesn't have any siblings on record."
Mia stepped forward, her eyes blazing with determination. "Look at the freckles on his cheek," she said, pointing to a small cluster of freckles just below Jay's right eye. "And look at mine." She tilted her head slightly, showing the identical pattern of freckles on her own cheek.
The guards exchanged doubtful glances, still not convinced. "We need more proof," the lead agent demanded.
Mia huffed in frustration but then held her hand up. With a flick of her wrist, a scratch book flew across the room and landed neatly in her palm. She handed it to Jay, her expression softening as she looked up at him. "Here," she said quietly. "This should be enough."
Jay took the book, recognizing it instantly. It was worn and slightly frayed at the edges, a testament to how often it had been used. Inside were pages filled with drawings, notes, and little scribbles that only he and Mia could understand. He flipped through the pages, each one a memory they had shared, a story they had created together.
He stopped at a page near the middle and showed it to the agents. It was a sketch of the two of them, drawn by a much younger Mia. She had drawn herself with a huge smile, her hair wild and untamed, standing beside a grinning Jay with his trademark freckles. Above the sketch, in Mia's childish handwriting, were the words: "Mia and Jay, forever."
The lead agent frowned, clearly torn. "This... doesn't prove anything," he muttered, though his tone had lost some of its harshness.
Mia stepped forward again, her voice steady. "Look closer," she insisted. "The drawing isn’t just a picture. There’s an inscription on the back, written by our mom."
Reluctantly, the agent flipped the page over. There, in neat, cursive handwriting, was a short note: "To my dearest Jay and Mia, never forget how much you mean to each other. No matter where life takes you, you’ll always have each other."
The room fell silent as the agents read the note. The lead agent’s face softened slightly, the sternness in his eyes giving way to a hint of understanding.
"Maybe there is a connection..." one of the other agents muttered.
Jay looked at Mia, his eyes filled with emotion. "You kept this all this time?" he asked softly.
Mia nodded, her eyes shining with tears again. "It was all I had left of you," she whispered. "I couldn’t let it go."
The lead agent finally lowered his weapon, a deep sigh escaping him. "Alright," he said, his tone less harsh. "We'll need to confirm this with our superiors, but... it seems like there's more to this story than we were told."
Jay nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. "Thank you," he said, his voice sincere.
The agents began to withdraw, leaving Jay and Mia alone in the room. As the door closed behind them, Mia looked up at Jay, a small smile playing on her lips.
"That was close," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Jay chuckled softly, pulling her into another hug. "Yeah, but we got through it," he said, holding her tight. "Together."
Mia sighed, resting her head against his chest. "I’m so glad you’re back, Jay. I’ve missed you so much."
Jay kissed the top of her head, feeling the weight of everything they had been through. "I missed you too, Mia. And I’m never leaving you again."
As Jay and Mia stood there, still wrapped in their embrace, the door suddenly burst open again. This time, it wasn't the agents—it was Kai, Lloyd, Cole, Nya, and Zane, all rushing in with wide smiles and teary eyes.
"Kai!" Mia exclaimed, her voice a mixture of surprise and joy. She barely had time to react before Kai swept her up into a tight hug.
"You found him!" Kai shouted with relief, lifting Mia off the ground and spinning her around.
Jay laughed, the sound warm and full of life. "Kai, put her down before you make her dizzy!"
"No way!" Kai grinned, holding her close before finally setting her back down. "I told you we'd find him, didn't I?"
Before Mia could respond, Cole charged in with his usual bear hug, grabbing Jay and Mia both. "Group hug!" he yelled, pulling them in tightly. Lloyd and Zane quickly joined in, their arms wrapping around the group.
Nya, not one to be left out, jumped on top of the already crowded embrace, causing everyone to lose their balance. "Dogpile!" she shouted, making everyone tumble to the floor in a laughing, tangled heap.
Mia found herself squished between Jay and Cole, giggling uncontrollably as she tried to wriggle free. "Okay, okay, I surrender!" she cried out, her laughter infectious.
Jay, pinned beneath Lloyd and Zane, grinned through the chaos. "You guys are crushing me!"
"That’s the point!" Lloyd teased, ruffling Jay's hair playfully.
Kai, lying sprawled across the top, laughed heartily. "This feels like old times."
For a moment, the room was filled with nothing but laughter and the warmth of being reunited. The fear and anxiety of the past weeks melted away, replaced by the simple joy of being together again.
Finally, after what felt like ages, they untangled themselves and sat up, still catching their breath from all the laughing. Mia looked around at all of them, her heart swelling with love.
"Thanks, guys," she said softly, her voice filled with gratitude. "I don’t know what I’d do without all of you."
Jay put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her close. "You don’t have to worry about that," he said gently. "Because you’ll never have to find out. We’re a team, and nothing’s going to change that."
Nya reached over and took Mia’s hand, squeezing it reassuringly. "We’re not just a team, Mia. We’re family. And family always sticks together."
Mia nodded, blinking back tears. "Yeah," she whispered, "we do."
As the group was still catching their breath from the dogpile, the agents re-entered the room, their faces stern. "We need actual pictures," one of the agents said, pulling out a rulebook. "It says so in rule—"
Jay, still holding Mia close, quickly interrupted, "Rule 8-56-45d, I know. But can't we just skip it?" His voice had a touch of impatience, clearly frustrated with the formality.
The agents, holding their stern expressions, watched as Mia summoned the scrapbook into her hands. "It's fine," she said calmly, flipping through the pages to find the most telling images.
As Mia held up the first picture, Jay couldn’t help but smirk. "Seriously, rule 8-56-45d? Can’t we just skip it?"
One of the agents frowned. "Rules are rules, sir. We need actual photographic evidence."
Mia didn’t miss a beat, handing over a picture of them as children. It showed a much younger Jay with his arm protectively around a giggling Mia, both of them covered in mud. Then there was the picture of them as ninja—Jay looking ready to scold Mia for something while she laughed at his exasperation, perched precariously on the edge of a waterfall.
Kai, peering over her shoulder, let out a chuckle when Mia turned to the next page. It was a photo of Jay, Cole, and himself crammed into a tiny tent—one of the many traps in Mia’s infamous escape room. Their faces were priceless: a mix of determination, frustration, and disbelief.
"Hey!" Jay protested, a mix of embarrassment and amusement coloring his tone. "I thought you gave that picture to us!"
Mia grinned mischievously, flipping to another photo. "Yes and no," she said lightly. "Remember, I have copies."
Kai and Cole groaned in unison, the memory of that cramped, chaotic moment coming back to them. "I knew it," Kai muttered, shaking his head. "We’ll never live that down."
Cole, trying to suppress a grin, nudged Jay. "At least she didn’t keep the one where you got stuck in the—"
"Don’t even finish that sentence," Jay interrupted, his cheeks reddening slightly.
Mia passed the scrapbook to the agents, who carefully examined the pictures. "These should be sufficient," one of them finally said, his tone a bit softer now. "It’s clear you’re siblings."
Jay sighed with relief, leaning back against the wall. "Thank goodness. I don’t think I could survive another round of these rules."
Mia smirked as she closed the scrapbook, slipping it back into the air with a snap of her fingers. "You should thank me, then. I saved you from more paperwork."
Jay laughed, his earlier tension completely gone. "I guess I owe you one. But don’t think I’m letting you off the hook for keeping that picture."
Kai chuckled, draping an arm around Jay’s shoulder. "Welcome back to the family, Jay."
Mia beamed, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. They were together again, and nothing could break the bond they shared. "Now, if you’re all done reminiscing," she said with a playful nudge, "we’ve got bigger things to worry about."
"Right," Lloyd chimed in, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "But at least now we know we’ve got each other’s backs."
Just as everyone was starting to relax, one of the agents turned back with a sheepish smile. "Actually, there are still a few forms that need to be filled out."
Mia groaned, slapping her forehead in exasperation. "Seriously?" She sighed, clearly not wanting to deal with more paperwork. But then her eyes lit up with an idea. "Zane! Master of fast writing, can you help us out?"
Zane, who had been standing quietly in the back, nodded and stepped forward. "Of course, Mia. I would be happy to assist." He walked over to the agent, who handed him the forms and a pen.
In a blur of motion, Zane began to fill out the forms at lightning speed. His hand moved so quickly that it was almost a blur, the pen barely making a sound as it skated across the paper. In less than a minute, he was done.
"Here you are," Zane said, handing the completed forms back to the stunned agent.
The agent blinked in surprise, looking down at the perfectly filled-out forms. "Uh, thank you... That was... incredibly fast."
Zane simply smiled. "Efficiency is one of my specialties."
Mia grinned, giving Zane a thumbs up. "You're the best, Zane! Now, can we finally get out of here?"
Jay chuckled, still holding Mia close. "Yeah, let's go home."
Lol look at my cute brothers and Cole
