Jay and memory
" Sorry!" Four year old Mia exclaimed as she bumped into Kai while holding books. They slipped, and one slid onto Kai's foot.
" Sorry!* She quickly tried to collect them, but they would keep falling.
" I'm so sorry, Kai!"
Kai raised a brow. " Mia, it's fine.*
Mia nodded, but it was clear she wasn't listening.
" I'll help clean." Kai dropped to his knees, and helped his sister collect the books.
" Thanks." Mia said, quickly running away.
Kai raised a brow but didn't question. He went outside to his bestie, who said, " we only have enough water for a day.*
" Uh.. uhm... How about Nya? She can bring water from the ground!"
" In this heat? Low humidity? I don't think so."
Lloyd walked out just as Cole and Kai turned to their third buddy.
" Jay, what are you doing?" Kai asked.
" Carving a message on this rock, so they know who we are when they find out bo-ho-hones."
" Can we try to be a little optimistic, please?" Lloyd asked.
" I am afraid there is little cause for optimum." Zane said as he came from around the corner. " Our situation is dire. The engine will not start withohr the thermovetic inverter
" What ?" Cole asked
" It is a component that is needed to start the engine."
" So we're gonna be castaways?" A small, teary voice asked.
" What?!" Jay ran to his sister and hugged her. " No, no, sweetie. We're not gonna become castaways!"
* That's what you said last time."
Jay let out a nervous chuckle. " Yeah, I wasn't really in the.... Best state of mind."
Jay lifted Mia into his arms, carrying her outside while the others remained engaged in their discussion. He took her to a quieter spot away from the group's worried chatter, trying to distract her from the seriousness of their situation.
Once outside, Jay gently set her down and started to pace, clearly frustrated. He grumbled under his breath, kicking a rock that lay in the sand. The rock skidded across the ground before coming to a stop.
Mia, observing Jay’s irritation, watched quietly. “Jay, are we really gonna be stuck here?”
Jay stopped pacing and looked at her, his face softening. “I don’t know, sweetie. We’re doing everything we can to fix this. We just have to stay positive.”
Mia bit her lip, not entirely reassured but nodding nonetheless. Jay crouched down to her level, trying to give her a reassuring smile. “We’ll figure this out. I promise.”
Mia clung to him, finding comfort in his presence. Jay patted her back gently, feeling the weight of the situation but determined to keep up a brave front for her sake.
The part where Jay grumbles off and gets almost eaten by Beohermie is like that.
Everyone except Mia sat before the fire.
" I see no other option." Zane said. " We must retrieve the inverter."
Happens as shown
Suddenly, they heard a yell. Jay looked inside the bounty.
" Mia!" He dropped everything and ran inside, to see her in a blanket, rocking like crazy.
" Mimi, what happened?" Jay asked, sitting next to her.
" I.... I had this bad dream."
" About?"
" Kai's powers being taken away, him meeting a big fan which happens to be my friend, you and Nya release a snake, and the person who the snake seeks for is Wu."
" Jay, no! Y.. you can't just go on an overnight mission!" Six year old Mia begged. " You need your sleep.
Jay turned to Mia and let out a small sigh. He walked over and hugged her tight.
" I'll be here when you wake up tomorrow."
Mia shook her head, but there was nothing she could do.
He was gone.
*********
Life was always good for Mia. She had her family and friends.
But right now, Mia wasnt happy
She was depressed.
After the Merge, she lost Jay.
So she thought of those times he had to leave for overnight missions.
This was like one of them.
One in which he doesn't have his memory and has been gone for years.
She didn't even notice Kai come in until he Interrupted her thoughts.
" Mia" he asked. " Are you okay?"
Mia wanted to say no so badly. She wanted to say she wished her brother was home.
Instead she said, " Y... Yeah."
" Well, everyone's watching a movie. Wanna join?"
Mia shook her head. " I have to read."
Kai nodded, and saw the picture of Jay. " You miss him?
" Who doesn't?" Mia sighed. " Jay was likable to everyone. Even you, Kai."
Kai nodded. " But now he's not very likable."
Mia nodded bitterly.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Mia ran outside and opened the gates to find.....
Mia squeeled. " I thought I had lost you after the tournament!"
Everyone came outside to see the commotion, and when they saw Jay, they put their powers on.
" What are you doing here with Mia?" Kai growled.
Jay gave Kai a look. " Okay, I don't know who you are, but we can do this one of two ways."
Mia gasped. " Jay, what are you doing?!"
" Doing something you taught me to do."
Before Jay could unleash his lightning, Mia stopped him.
" Jay, he's been keeping me safe since you left. After we successfully get your memory back, you'll remember."
" What is there to remember?* Jay asked sourly. " Everyone hates me."
" What?! Jay, that's not true." Cole said, stepping forward.
" Oh yeah? Then what's with the powers?"
Mia chuckled nervously. " So.... Why'd you come here?"
" Because this is where Sprite taught me, apparently."
Mia gasped. " I knew it!"
" What?* Jay was confused.
" Sprite is Wu!"
Kai raised a brow. " But there are four sprites, from what Coles told me."
" Yes, I mean no, I mean- argh!" She held her hand up, and a book fell into it
" Okay, Wu had four parts- nice, bossy, angry, and secrecy. Combined, those form the spirit of Wu."
" So he's...." Lloyd couldn't even say it. Kai wrapped an arm around him.
Suddenly, the door knocked again. Three, then four, then three
" Hey, Rumi." Mia said, opening the door.
" Hi, guys." She turned to Jay. " Oh, look who's back."
Then she noticed Lloyd, and got into protective mode.
" What did you do to him now?* She asked, marching over and slapping Kai's arm.
Kai flinched, looking perplexed. “I didn’t do anything.”
Rumi’s glare didn’t soften. “You better not have,” she said firmly.
Mia, seeing the tension rise, stepped between them. “Everyone, let’s just calm down. We have a lot to figure out, and fighting among ourselves won’t help.”
Rumi huffed but reluctantly stepped back. Jay watched the interactions with a mixture of confusion and concern, his memories still fragmented but his instincts urging him to trust Mia and the others.
“Let’s focus on getting everything back to normal,” Mia suggested. “Jay, let’s start by getting your memory back and then we’ll deal with everything else.”
Jay stared at the people in front of him. His kidnappers. He could see the green ones weakness was the team, but we didn't know the others.
" You." The girl in pink said.
He tilted his head. " Sorry?*
The one in pink sighed, her brown hair tangled. " You're my weakness."
" I... Don't understand.".
Mia groaned. " Me seeing you not well is my weakness."
" Mia!" Lloyd hissed. " He could use that against you."
" No he can't."
" Why not?" This caught Jay off guard.
" Because I'm experiencing that right now."
Jay stared at Mia in confusion. Her words and the intense look in her eyes made him wary. “You have no memory,” she said firmly.
Jay frowned, his patience wearing thin. “Yes, I do, thank you very much,” he snapped.
Mia’s expression hardened. “Do you really? Then read this.” She slammed a scrapbook into his hands, the cover adorned with a vibrant collage of photos and mementos.
Jay looked down at the book, his brow furrowing. “What’s this?”
Mia’s eyes were piercing as she spoke. “It’s a scrapbook of our lives together. If you truly have your memories, then you should be able to recall these moments.”
Jay hesitated, then opened the scrapbook. The pages were filled with photographs of him with Mia and the others—happy moments, adventures, and personal notes. Each picture told a story, but Jay’s confusion only deepened.
He flipped through the pages, his mind struggling to piece together the fragments of his past. There were images of Mia and him laughing, of missions they’d undertaken, and even private moments that only someone close would remember.
Mia watched him intently, her frustration evident. “Well? Do you remember now?”
Jay’s eyes scanned a page showing a birthday party with Mia blowing out candles and him standing beside her. He couldn’t recall the exact details, but something inside him stirred—a flicker of familiarity.
“I… I don’t remember everything,” Jay admitted, his voice low. “But these... they seem familiar.”
Mia’s shoulders sagged slightly, a mix of relief and frustration crossing her face. “That’s what I thought. It’s like a piece of you is missing. If you can’t remember these moments, then maybe you don’t have all your memories.”
Jay closed the scrapbook, his expression one of deep contemplation. “I don’t understand. Why would I forget these things?”
“Because it’s not just about having memories,” Mia said softly. “It’s about the connection they represent. You may have fragments, but the full picture is missing.”
Lloyd stepped closer, his concern evident. “Mia’s right. We need to help you recover those lost memories, Jay.”
Jay looked around at the group, his mind grappling with the reality of his situation. “Okay,” he said slowly. “I’ll try. But I need help.”
Mia’s face softened. “We’ll help you. Just give us a chance to make things right.”
Jay nodded, accepting the support being offered. “Alright. Let’s do this.”
