One sunny afternoon, the monastery was unusually quiet as everyone gathered around the TV. Word had spread quickly—Mia was going to be on the news. The team was excited, curious to see what Mia would say. Jay, Cole, Lloyd, Kai, and the others crowded into the common area, all eyes on the screen.
The broadcast began, and there was Mia, sitting confidently in front of the camera with a slight smirk. "In case you're just tuning in, this is 'Rules for Life.' Number one," she announced with a serious expression, "You can only sleep once a week."
The room went silent for a split second, and then chaos erupted.
Jay's eyes widened in sheer panic. "What?!" he stammered, his breathing becoming erratic. "Only once a week? That’s insane!" His voice rose in pitch as he began to hyperventilate, clutching his chest like he was about to faint. "I need my eight hours every night, Mia! Eight hours!"
Cole, on the other hand, had an entirely different reaction. His face contorted in disbelief before he bolted up from his seat. "AAAAAAHHHH!" he screamed, running around the room in circles. "No sleep? We’re all going to die! This is the end!"
Lloyd and Kai watched in stunned silence, trying to process what was happening. Lloyd exchanged a bewildered look with Kai, who was struggling to suppress a grin. "Is she serious?" Lloyd whispered, half-concerned, half-amused.
Kai shrugged, clearly amused by the chaos Mia had unintentionally unleashed. "You know Mia, she probably just wanted to see how we'd react."
As Jay continued to hyperventilate and Cole ran wild, Rose and Pixel stood to the side, covering their mouths to stifle their laughter. Rose nudged Pixel, who was trying and failing to keep a straight face. "You think Mia planned this?"
Pixel nodded, still grinning. "I wouldn't put it past her."
Meanwhile, Mia, completely oblivious to the uproar she'd caused back at the monastery, continued speaking calmly on the TV. "And remember, a little bit of chaos can be good for the soul. Keeps things interesting!"
Jay, now pacing frantically, shot a horrified look at the screen. "Interesting? Interesting? This is a nightmare!"
Cole, still running in circles, finally collapsed onto the couch, out of breath but still muttering under his breath, "No sleep…no sleep…"
Lloyd finally managed to regain his composure and stepped forward, clapping a hand on Jay's shoulder. "Relax, Jay. I’m sure Mia didn’t mean it literally. Right, Kai?"
Kai nodded, finally letting out a chuckle. "Of course not. She’s just having fun with it."
Jay stopped pacing, his face still pale but his breathing starting to steady. "So…we’re not actually only sleeping once a week?"
"No, Jay," Lloyd reassured him with a smile. "You can sleep as much as you want."
Jay let out a huge sigh of relief, slumping into the nearest chair. "Thank goodness. I thought I was going to have to start drinking a ton of coffee just to survive."
As the room finally calmed down, the news segment came to an end. Mia’s smirking face disappeared from the screen, leaving the team in a state of mixed relief and lingering amusement.
Kai walked over to the remote and turned off the TV, still chuckling to himself. "Well, that was definitely something. I think Mia just wanted to see how we'd react."
Cole, still catching his breath, shot a look of mock betrayal at the now-blank screen. "Mia is a menace," he muttered, though the slight grin on his face betrayed his real feelings.
Lloyd shook his head, grinning. "That's Mia for you. Always keeping us on our toes."
Jay, finally fully recovered from his brief panic attack, managed a weak smile. "Next time, someone warn me if she’s going to drop another 'rule for life,' okay?"
The group burst into laughter, the tension finally broken. As they settled back down, they couldn’t help but appreciate Mia’s knack for shaking things up—even if it did almost give Jay a heart attack.
Just as everyone started to recover from Mia's declaration about only sleeping once a week, the screen flickered back to life. Mia reappeared, looking as serious as ever. "And one more thing," she said, holding up a finger for emphasis. "No tea."
The room fell into an almost eerie silence. For a moment, no one moved, as if they couldn’t quite process what they’d just heard.
Then, in a split second, Master Wu’s usually calm demeanor shattered. His eyes widened in horror, and he slowly rose from his seat. "No… tea?" he whispered, his voice trembling.
The team exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what was about to happen.
Wu’s hands began to shake, and his face turned pale. "No… tea?" he repeated, louder this time. He glanced around, his eyes wild, searching for some confirmation that this was all just a bad dream. "How can she say such a thing?!"
Jay, who had just started to calm down after his earlier outburst, stared at Wu in alarm. "Uh, Sensei…?"
Wu didn’t seem to hear him. "Tea is the essence of balance, the foundation of peace!" he cried, his voice growing more frantic. "How can one meditate, reflect, or even exist without tea? This… this is unthinkable!"
Cole, still reeling from the chaos of Mia’s first decree, turned to Lloyd with wide eyes. "I think we broke him," he whispered, half-joking but fully serious.
Lloyd nodded, watching Wu as he began pacing the room, his usual calm and wisdom completely abandoned. "I didn’t think anything could shake him like this," Lloyd murmured, barely suppressing a grin. "But no tea… yeah, that did it."
Kai leaned against the wall, shaking his head with a smirk. "Who would’ve thought the way to make the wise Master Wu lose it was to mess with his tea?"
Wu’s pacing grew more frantic, his hands gesturing wildly as he muttered to himself. "How can the body function without tea? The mind? The soul? This is catastrophic!"
Pixel, ever the voice of reason, spoke up gently. "Perhaps we should discuss with Mia the importance of tea in maintaining the balance of our daily routine?"
"Or at least convince her that this rule should be reconsidered," Rose added, trying to keep a straight face as Wu continued to spiral.
Jay, still feeling the aftereffects of his own earlier panic attack, quickly nodded. "Yes, definitely. Tea is non-negotiable. We need to fix this."
Finally, the tension broke as Lloyd let out a loud laugh, unable to contain it any longer. The rest of the team followed suit, their laughter filling the room. Even Wu, despite his earlier panic, eventually chuckled at the absurdity of the situation.
Just as the team started to recover from the shock of Mia’s "no tea" rule, the screen flickered once more. Mia reappeared with her trademark serious expression. She leaned closer to the camera, as if delivering a top-secret announcement. "And one more thing," she said, pausing for dramatic effect. "No breakfast."
The room froze. For a heartbeat, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Then, all at once, chaos erupted.
"No breakfast?!" Cole yelled, his voice cracking with disbelief. "But… but breakfast is the most important meal of the day!"
Kai’s face twisted in horror. "No pancakes? No eggs? What are we supposed to eat in the morning? Air?!"
Jay, still reeling from Mia's previous proclamations, threw his hands in the air. "That’s it! I can’t take this anymore!" he shouted, pacing frantically. "Sleep only once a week, no tea, and now no breakfast? We’re doomed!"
Lloyd, who had been trying to keep his cool, finally lost it. "How are we supposed to function without breakfast? I mean, seriously, who even does that?!"
Even Master Wu, who had just started to recover from his tea-induced panic, looked like he was on the verge of a breakdown. "No tea was one thing… but no breakfast?!" His voice was a mix of disbelief and despair. "This cannot be! Breakfast is essential for the mind, body, and spirit!"
Pixel, usually calm under pressure, began tapping rapidly on her wrist console, as if trying to find some logical way to counter Mia’s rule. "This… this doesn’t compute. Breakfast is necessary to kickstart metabolic processes…"
Cole was practically pulling his hair out. "I can’t believe this! First, it’s no sleep, then no tea, and now this?! What’s next—no lunch? No dinner?!"
The entire team was now in full-blown panic mode. They were running around, voices overlapping in a cacophony of disbelief and distress.
"I’m going to starve!" Jay wailed, dramatically collapsing onto the couch.
Kai was furiously pacing back and forth. "We need to talk to Mia—immediately! This is a disaster!"
"Everyone, calm down!" Lloyd tried to shout over the chaos, though his own voice was shaking. "We just need to… uh… figure something out!"
But it was too late. The entire room had descended into complete pandemonium. Jay was hyperventilating, Cole was running around in circles yelling "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!," and even Master Wu, who usually kept his composure, was frantically muttering about the importance of morning rituals.
The chaos reached its peak when Nelson, who had been sitting quietly in the corner, suddenly stood up and shouted, "I’M GETTING A SNACK!"
At that moment, the door swung open, and Mia walked in, looking as calm and collected as ever. She surveyed the scene with a raised eyebrow. "Uh… did I miss something?" she asked innocently.
The entire team froze, turning to stare at her in a mix of confusion and disbelief.
"Mia!" Jay gasped, pointing at the TV. "You… you said no breakfast!"
Mia blinked, then burst into laughter. "You guys know I was joking, right? I mean, who would actually go without breakfast?"
The room fell into a stunned silence as Mia’s words sunk in. Slowly, the panic subsided, and the team exchanged sheepish glances.
"She was… joking?" Cole muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Of course I was!" Mia grinned, shaking her head. "I love breakfast! You guys should know better by now."
Jay let out a sigh of relief and flopped back onto the couch. "I think I’m going to need breakfast, lunch, and dinner after all this stress."
Master Wu, finally regaining his composure, cleared his throat. "A good joke can be enlightening… but perhaps next time, we avoid causing heart attacks?"
Mia laughed, giving her brother a playful nudge. "Don’t worry, Sensei. I’ll stick to less life-threatening jokes from now on."
