Day off
Random story about Dreamzzz and Ninjago
One early morning, Mia woke up and came to the living room, stretching her arms. To her surprise, everyone was awake.
" Hi, guys." She said, sitting next to Jays leg on the ground. Two black gloved hands picked her up and sat her on their lap.
" Good morning, Wojira."
Mia smiled as she nestled closer. " Good morning, Dummy."
" Hey! I thought we were over that nickname!" Jay playfully protested.
Mia rolled her eyes. " Do you want me to call you the big one?*
" Uh ... No?*
Before Mia could reply, Kai cut in
" Listen!" He exclaimed, turning the volume up.
"..... Reports say one day he was here, as tough as ever, and the next day he's gone. Officials are yet to say what happened."
Mia's eyes widened. She grabbed her phone and punched in Nelson's phone number. She taped her foot impatiently as it rang.
" Come on, come on..." She muttered.
Finally, he picked up. " Did you hear the news?" He asked.
" Yeah. You don't think....."
" Maybe. Call the others."
Mia nodded, and called Teo, Coop and Logan the Barbarian.
" Yo, what's up?" Logan asked.
Mia groaned. " Where are the others?"
Cooper and Mateo picked up as well.
" What happened?" Cooper asked, concerned.
Mia sighed. " You know the judge I was telling you about?"
" You mean the judge that put your brothers in jail and you meant ballistic?" Logan teased.
Mia slapped her head. * Sure. Let's remember him like that."
" Anyway, today, he woke up to be found... Missing!"
They gasped.
" But yesterday was the day.....* Mateo trailed off.
" Yep. We think Buttlock is actually Royce."
" Uh, Mia? His name is Toughbutt." Cooper said
Mia slapped her head. " Right."
" Anyway, we're her to test this hypothesis."
" Wait, so what are you going to do to figure out if Royce is really this judge?" Izzy asked from Teo's screen.
" Birth records." Mia held her hand out, and a file named " William Horance Toughbutt" flew into it.
She opened it, and flipped through the pages. She gasped when she saw one of them.
" Toughbutt's birthname was ROYCE!"

Mia tossed the ball into the air and hit it over the net. Jay shot it back, but Mia ran with her racket and gave it a good whack.
It sailed over, and Jay was gonna hit, but their comm cackled to life.
“ Mia, Jay, I’m sorry to interrupt your game, but there’s an emergency. Meet us at the old warehouse.” Wu said.
Jay nodded and ran, but turned to see Mia, staring at her hands, then throwing the racket on the ground and cursing under her breath. Jay’s heart dropped when he heard the phrase, “ Wish I didn’t have these darn powers. Made my life worse, that’s it.”
Jay looked at her, confused. “ Come on, Mia. It’s not that bad.”
Mia looked at him. “ Yeah,’ She said sarcastically. “ Not bad because you’re a teen.”
But then she put her mask on. “ Ah, well. Let’s go.”

The next day, Jay, still concerned from yesterday’s convo, went to Mia’s room. He knocked, and waited.
Nothing.
He knocked again.
Still nothing.
He turned the knob. It was unlocked. He stepped in, and noticed Mia’s gi on her bed.
In fact, all her ninja stuff, including her tracker, were on her bed.
Jay noticed Mia’s bag, the one she wore when she went out, was gone.
“ Oh, no.” He bolted out of the room and into the kitchen, where the others were peacefully eating.
“ Mia’s not home!” He exclaimed.
Everyone froze and looked at Jay.
“ Is this a trick?” Kai asked. “ beca-”
“ NO! It’s not a trick!”
Cole choked on his cake. “ WHAT?!” He said, grabbing the juice and gulping it all.
Kai raised a brow. “ Someone’s gonna need to use the bathroom frequently.” He whispered to Lloyd, who giggled.
Jay groaned. “ Come on! We have no time for this! We have to find her!”
“ But what about her tracker?” Zane asked.
Jay held it.
“ This is quite dangerous. We must find her.”
“ Would you guys relax?” Nya stated, staring at them. “ Mia’s not five. She knows almost everyone in Ninjago. She’ll be fine.”

“ Can I have one vanilla ice cream in a cup and another cotton candy and chocolate with oreos in a cone?” Mia ordered, stroking Blackie, who was in her bag.
This is Mia’s Bag
The cashier nodded, and soon Blackie was savoring the ice cream, while Mia was crunching her cone.
“ You know, we should do this often!” Blackie commented as he watched Mia eat the last of her cone.
Mia shrugged and scooped her kitten. “ Maybe.”
She put him in her bag, and stood up. But Blackie hopped out.
“ Can’t I walk?” He complained.
Mia chuckled and took out his leash. “ Why not? Besides, We’re going to the shops.”
Blackie meowed happily as Mia put the leash on.
_____________
“ I thought we were going to the shop, not your work!” Blackie complained, nervously lying down on the table.
Mia, who was putting her coat on, saw her baby boy and reached to pet him. “ I know, Blackie. We’re going after this.”
Blackie meowed and hopped on Mia’s shoulder.
“ Can’t we just…. Oh, I don’t know….. Go to the shop and do this later?”
Mia paused and looked at her cat, who was on the verge of tears.
“ Oh, Blackie.” Mia said softly, taking her cat off her shoulder and hugging him.
“ You’re choking me.” Blackie stated blandly.
Mia giggled. “ Sorry.”
Mia smiled as she gently placed Blackie on the examination table, her expression softening as she pulled out her stethoscope. "Alright, Blackie, let's get this over with quickly so we can hit the shops."
Blackie sighed dramatically, lying flat on the table with his paws stretched out. "Fine, but make it quick. I’d rather be anywhere else than here."
Mia chuckled as she placed the stethoscope against Blackie’s chest, listening carefully to his heartbeat. "You’re a healthy boy, as always. But I’ve got to do the full check-up, okay?"
Blackie huffed but didn’t protest further. Mia continued with the examination, checking his ears, eyes, and mouth. "You know, Blackie, you’re lucky I’m your vet. Otherwise, you’d be in the hands of someone who might not know how much you hate this."
Blackie rolled his eyes. "As if anyone could understand me like you do."
Mia smiled warmly and gave him a quick scratch behind the ears before moving on to the next part of the exam. She carefully inspected his paws, making sure his claws were in good condition. "I’m almost done, I promise."
Blackie grumbled, but the annoyance in his voice was softened by the affection he clearly had for Mia. She finished the examination by checking his weight, making a note in her logbook.
"All done!" Mia announced, giving Blackie a gentle pat. "You’re all set. Now, let’s get to the shop before you start hating me."
Blackie perked up at the mention of the shop, hopping off the table with renewed energy. "Finally! I thought you’d never finish."
Mia laughed, slipping the stethoscope back into her bag and gathering her things. She scooped up Blackie, who quickly settled onto her shoulder again, and they headed out of the vet clinic.
As they walked down the street, Mia couldn't help but smile at the thought of spending the rest of the day with her beloved cat. "Thanks for being patient, Blackie. Now let’s go spoil you with some treats."

Meanwhile, back at the monastery, Jay was pacing the kitchen, his worry growing by the minute. "How can you all be so calm? Mia's out there, and we don't even know where she is!"
Nya rolled her eyes, taking a sip of her tea. "Jay, relax. Mia's strong, she's resourceful, and she's got Blackie with her. She’s more than capable of taking care of herself."
"But what if she runs into trouble?" Jay persisted. "She left her tracker behind! That’s not like her."
Lloyd, who had been quiet, finally spoke up. "Maybe she needed a break, Jay. She's been under a lot of pressure lately, and sometimes people just need to get away from everything."
Jay frowned but nodded slightly. "I guess... but I still don't like it."

Mia and Blackie walked into the bustling toy shop, the colorful displays and cheerful atmosphere immediately putting a smile on Mia’s face. She leaned down, gently setting Blackie on the floor. "Go on, Blackie. Find something you like. I need to pick out gifts for the others."
Blackie tilted his head, his whiskers twitching curiously. "Gifts? Is it Christmas already?"
Mia chuckled and shook her head. "No, silly. It’s almost Ninja Day. But, unfortunately, the others don’t seem to remember it."
Blackie’s ears perked up in surprise. "Ninja Day? They forgot? That’s… surprising."
Mia nodded, a hint of sadness in her eyes. "Yeah, it’s kind of a big deal for us, but everyone’s been so busy lately. I guess it slipped their minds."
Blackie patted her leg with his paw. "Well, you won’t forget, and I’m sure they’ll appreciate whatever you get them."
Mia smiled softly, appreciating the comforting gesture. "Thanks, Blackie. Now, go find something fun while I hunt down the perfect gifts."
With a determined nod, Blackie trotted off to explore the toy shop, his tail swishing happily behind him. Meanwhile, Mia wandered through the aisles, her eyes scanning the shelves for anything that might catch her attention.
She stopped in front of a display of action figures, her thoughts turning to each of her friends. For Kai, she picked up a limited edition fire-themed figure, knowing how much he loved collecting things related to his elemental powers. For Jay, she found a gadget kit that promised hours of fun assembling and disassembling intricate devices—a perfect match for his love of tinkering.
As she continued browsing, she found a beautiful set of paints and canvases for Zane, who had recently taken up painting as a way to relax. For Cole, she grabbed a baking-themed puzzle, something to enjoy when he wasn’t busy in the kitchen. And for Lloyd, she found a book of ancient legends, something he’d surely enjoy reading in his downtime.
Mia’s heart felt lighter as she imagined the smiles on their faces when they received these gifts. Even if they’d forgotten Ninja Day, she wanted them to feel appreciated and loved.
After gathering all the gifts, Mia made her way to the register. As she approached, she noticed Blackie sitting near a shelf, staring intently at a stuffed mouse toy with a bell inside.
She grinned. "Found something you like, huh?"
Blackie nodded eagerly. "This one’s perfect! Can I have it?"
Mia chuckled and picked up the toy, adding it to her pile of gifts. "Of course. Consider it an early Ninja Day present."
Blackie purred in satisfaction, rubbing against her leg as she paid for everything.
With their bags full of gifts, Mia and Blackie headed out of the shop, the crisp air outside a refreshing change from the warmth inside.

The duo made their way to the beach, the warm sand and sound of waves offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the toy shop. Mia carefully placed the gifts in the trunk of her car, a sleek vehicle that she had cleverly disguised to look like a regular, nondescript sedan. The transformation was flawless—no one would suspect that this was anything but an ordinary car.
Mia glanced around the beach, a slight grin on her face. "Perfect. No one will recognize me like this."
She had taken extra precautions that day, wearing a simple beach hat and sunglasses, along with a casual outfit that blended in with the crowd. Even Blackie had a little bandana around his neck, adding to their incognito look. The pair looked like just another visitor enjoying a day by the sea.
As they walked along the shore, Mia kept her eyes peeled for any familiar faces. She didn’t see anyone she knew, and it felt a little strange, considering how often she ran into her friends.
What she didn’t realize, however, was that the other ninja were already on the beach, scattered around as they searched for her. Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, and Lloyd had spent the morning combing through different parts of Ninjago, concerned after Jay’s alarming discovery that Mia was missing. The beach was one of their stops, but none of them had spotted her. Mia’s disguise was working better than she had anticipated.
The ninja split up, each searching different areas of the beach, but fate seemed determined to keep them apart. Mia and Blackie wandered near the water’s edge, dipping their toes in the cool waves, while Jay and Kai scanned the area near the pier. Cole was by the lifeguard tower, keeping a watchful eye out, and Zane and Lloyd were near the beachside café, looking for any signs of their missing friend.
Despite being so close, none of them saw each other. The crowd, the disguises, and the sheer size of the beach all played a role in keeping Mia hidden from her well-meaning but increasingly worried friends.
After a while, the other ninja regrouped at the far end of the beach. Kai shook his head in frustration. "Nothing. I haven’t seen her anywhere."
Jay frowned, glancing back towards the area they had just searched. "I don’t get it. She’s got to be somewhere around here. It’s not like Mia to just disappear."
Cole patted Jay on the back. "We’ll find her. Maybe she’s at another spot we haven’t checked yet."
Lloyd nodded, trying to stay optimistic. "Yeah, let’s keep looking. She’s probably just hanging out somewhere we haven’t thought of."
Reluctantly, the ninja decided to leave the beach and continue their search elsewhere. As they walked away, Mia and Blackie were at the opposite end of the beach, blissfully unaware of how close they had been to running into the others. Mia enjoyed the tranquility, unaware that her friends were anxiously searching for her just a short distance away.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, Mia and Blackie decided it was time to head home. They returned to their disguised car, packed up, and drove off, leaving the beach just as peacefully as they had arrived.
Meanwhile, the other ninja were already en route to another location, still determined to find their friend. They never realized how close they had come to crossing paths, and Mia never knew they had been looking for her all along.

Few hours passed and Mia was lounging on her beach towel when a familiar voice said, " found you."
Mia peeked from under her hat and glasses.
It was the others.
" Pardon?" She asked, adopting an Australian accent. " Who are you?"
" Mia, don't play games." Kai said firmly.
Mia, underrated, replied, " Cricky! You shellias tryna find the legendary Wind Ninja? Why, I saw her two shakes of a rail away from here!"
Jay stared. " Mia...."
Mia groaned inwardly. Why wouldn't they leave?!
" Mate, if I know anything, I'll let you know."
Kai was about to say something when Jay stopped him.
" Mia Walker, show your face right this instant."
Mia's Anger flared. " Hey " she said in her actual voice, standing up with lightning in her hands. " It's my day off. I do what I want. And in case you didn't remember, you've been in my case to rest. So shoo!"
Jay’s expression hardened as he looked at Mia, lightning crackling faintly around her fists. “Mia, we’ve been worried sick about you. You can’t just disappear like that without telling anyone.”
Mia’s breath came out in short, angry bursts as she glared at Jay. Her fists were tightly balled, the sparks of lightning dancing dangerously between her fingers. “Why do you care, Jay?” she snapped, her voice trembling with a mix of frustration and exhaustion. “I just wanted one day. One day to feel normal, to be like everyone else. But I can’t even have that, can I?”
“Mia—” Jay started, but she cut him off.
“No! You have no idea what it’s like! Every time I turn around, there’s something—some crisis, some mission, some responsibility that pulls me back in. I just wanted to be a normal person for a day! Is that too much to ask?”
The other ninja stood back, unsure of how to respond. Lloyd stepped forward cautiously. “Mia, you could’ve told me. I get it. I know what it’s like to carry that weight, to want to escape from it all.”
Mia turned her head sharply to Lloyd, her eyes flashing. “You wouldn’t care. None of you would. You all act like it’s just another day, but it’s not! It’s always something, always the next fight, the next problem. I’m tired of it!”
Lloyd looked genuinely hurt, but he didn’t back down. “We do care, Mia. But how are we supposed to help if you don’t let us in?”
Mia let out a heavy sigh and looked out at the horizon, her anger ebbing into a deep sadness. The ocean waves crashed softly against the shore, a stark contrast to the storm raging inside her. “Now, if you’ll excuse me,” she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper, “I have a beach to explore.”
The ninja exchanged worried glances, but they knew pushing her further might only make things worse. Jay opened his mouth to say something, but the words caught in his throat. He didn’t want to make her feel more isolated than she already did.
Mia took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm within her. She turned away from them and began walking down the beach, the sand crunching softly under her feet. Blackie trotted along beside her, his tail flicking as he glanced back at the others.
The ninja watched her go, a mix of concern and helplessness in their eyes. They wanted to help, but they weren’t sure how. They had always been a team, but right now, Mia felt worlds away.
Jay sighed and ran a hand through his hair, the tension in his shoulders not easing. “We need to give her space,” he finally said, the words heavy with regret.
Kai nodded reluctantly. “Yeah. She’ll come back when she’s ready.”
Lloyd kept his gaze on Mia’s retreating figure. “But we’ll be here when she does,” he added, determination in his voice.
They all nodded in agreement, but the worry lingered. They had found her, but in a way, she was still lost. And all they could do now was wait for her to find her way back to them.
Cole watched Mia from a distance, his brow furrowed in concern. “I didn’t know she wanted to be normal. She always seemed to like training, you know? Like she was always up for the next challenge.”
Jay sighed, his eyes following Mia as she picked up rocks and hurled them into the water with all her might. The usually calm ocean echoed with the sound of each stone splashing against its surface. “Yeah, I thought so too. But look at her now.”
They watched in silence as Mia continued to throw rocks into the sea, each one with more force than the last. Her frustration and anger were evident in every movement. The ocean, typically a source of calm, seemed to be the target of all her pent-up emotions.
“She’s hurting,” Jay said quietly, more to himself than anyone else. “She’s been carrying all this weight, and we didn’t even realize it. We were so caught up in everything else.”
Kai, who had been quiet up until now, crossed his arms. “Mia’s always been tough. But even the strongest people need a break sometimes. We should’ve seen the signs.”
Lloyd nodded, his expression serious. “She’s been holding it all in, trying to be everything to everyone. But no one can do that forever.”
Cole’s eyes softened as he continued to watch Mia. “I guess we’ve all been so focused on training and missions that we forgot to ask how she was doing. Really doing.”
Mia picked up another rock, clutching it tightly in her hand before throwing it with a fierce cry of frustration. The rock hit the water with a splash, and she stood there, breathing heavily, staring out at the horizon as if searching for something she couldn’t quite reach.
Jay clenched his fists, feeling a pang of guilt. “We need to do better by her. We’ve got to be there for her, not just as teammates, but as her family.”
The others nodded in agreement, but they knew that actions would speak louder than words. Right now, Mia needed space, but she also needed to know that when she was ready, they would be there.
As they stood there, watching her, Jay couldn’t shake the feeling that they had all been so focused on their own roles that they had missed the signs of Mia’s struggle. But now that they knew, they were determined to help her, even if it meant stepping back and letting her find her own way for a while.
“She’ll come around,” Cole said, trying to reassure himself as much as the others.
“Yeah,” Jay agreed softly. “But until then, we just need to be patient and ready to listen when she’s ready to talk.”
Mia’s figure seemed small against the vast ocean, but as they watched her, they silently vowed to be the support she needed—whether she wanted to be a ninja or just a normal person for a little while.
