Chapter 4- PGW

When Mia regained her consiousness, she heard the steady beeping of a macine. She opened her eyes, and screamed.

She was wearing a hospital gown, she was sleeping in a hospital bed. And there was an IV in her arm.

Nelson, who was anxiously waiting in the waiting room, heard her and knew who it was.

" Mia!" He yelled, pushing past everyone and barging into the room.

Mia was flailing her arm everywhere while yelling, " GET IT OFFFFFFFF!"

Five nurses were there, trying to calm her down, but she was having none of it.

" Mia!" Nelson said, walking past the nurses.

Mia looked at him and grinded her teeth.

" Nelson." She said with false kindness. " Please tell these nurses to take this darn thing off."

Nelson sighed, trying to keep calm. "Mia, just relax. Let them help you."

One of the nurses, a middle-aged woman with a kind face, stepped forward. "Miss Mia, this IV is for your own good. You've been through quite an ordeal, and it's important for you to recover properly."

Mia glared at the nurse. "Who are you going to trust? Your knowledge or me, who, with one blow, could defeat your wimpy bodies?"

Nelson quickly intervened, raising his hands in a placating gesture. "She didn't mean anything by that! She's just...frustrated. Could you give us some time? Maybe come back in, let's say, five hours. She'll be calm by then."

The nurses exchanged glances, hesitant but eventually nodded. "Alright," the kind-faced nurse said. "We'll give you some space. But if anything happens, call us immediately."

They left the room, and the door closed behind them. Nelson turned to Mia, who was still visibly agitated.

"Mia, you need to stay calm. You're going to be alright," Nelson said softly.

Mia looked at him, her eyes softening. "Nelson, I can't stand hospitals. Please, get this thing off me."

Nelson nodded and approached her. With a careful but swift motion, he yanked the IV out of her arm. Mia winced but quickly relaxed, relief washing over her.

"Come on," Nelson said, pulling a bundle of clothes from his bag. "I have your clothes. Let's get you out of here."

Mia smiled gratefully and changed into her ninja attire, feeling more like herself with each piece of gear she put on. As she finished, Nelson kept watch by the door, making sure no one interrupted them.

Once she was dressed, Nelson turned to her. "Feeling better?"

Mia nodded. "Much better. Thanks, Nelson."

"Anytime," he replied, helping her to her feet. "Let's get out of here before the nurses come back."

They sneaked out of the hospital, carefully avoiding staff and making their way to the exit. As they stepped outside, the fresh air hit Mia's face, and she took a deep breath, feeling her strength returning.

As Mia and Nelson stepped out of the hospital, they were immediately surrounded by the other ninjas, who had been waiting anxiously for them. Kai, Cole, Jay, Nya, and Zane all crowded around Mia, their expressions a mix of relief and concern.

"Mia, are you okay?" Kai asked, his brow furrowed with worry.

"You shouldn't have pulled out the IV like that," Nya chided gently. "You need to rest."

Jay nodded vigorously. "Yeah, hospitals are no joke. You gotta take it easy."

Mia sighed, feeling overwhelmed by their fussing. She glanced at Nelson, who stood protectively by her side.

"My baby girl just saved your butts," Nelson said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Please let her do as she pleases."

Kai hesitated, then nodded reluctantly. "Alright, but don't overdo it, Mia."

"OVERDO IT?!" Mia exploded. "I JUST SAVED YOUR WIMPY BABY BUTTS BACK THERE. IF ANYTHING, YOU SHOULD BE THANKING ME, NOT TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!"

The other ninjas exchanged glances, taken aback by Mia's outburst. They knew she was right, but they couldn't help worrying about her.

"O-kay," Nelson intervened, gently pulling Mia closer to him. "My wife and I are going to the monastery so she can change. Then, we're going to celebrate. She hasn't had any ice cream in, what, a week? So thank you very much, but she deserves it. Very much."

Mia huffed, crossing her arms. "Exactly. Ice cream time."

With that, Mia and Nelson walked away from the group, heading towards the monastery. The other ninjas watched them go, still processing the intensity of the situation.

" That.... was unexpected." Jay chirped.

" Should we go after them?" Cole asked.

Nya sighed. " As much as she hates it, we have to."

True to Nya's words, Mia was still visibly agitated as she and Nelson made their way towards the monastery. Her frustration bubbled just beneath the surface, evident in the way she moved with restless energy.

"Nelson, can you do this?" Mia suddenly asked, stopping in her tracks.

Nelson looked at her quizzically. "Do what?"

"This!" Mia exclaimed, without warning she executed ten flawless backflips in a row, landing lightly on her feet. She followed it up with five swift shoulder rolls, demonstrating her agility and skill.

Jay, who had followed them discreetly, couldn't help but comment, "Take it easy, Mia."

Mia turned sharply towards Jay, her eyes blazing. "Says the guy who's so lazy he's fat."

Nelson winced slightly at her sharp retort, but before Jay could respond, he interjected, "Did she just..." He shook his head, deciding against finishing his thought out loud. "Never mind. Mia, let's just enjoy."

Mia took a deep breath, her expression softening. "Right. Enjoy."

With that, she took Nelson's hand, and together they continued towards the monastery. As they walked, the tension seemed to ease, replaced by a sense of companionship and relief. The weight of the recent battle and hospital visit began to lift from Mia's shoulders, replaced by anticipation for the simple pleasure of sharing a moment with Nelson.

Arriving at the monastery, Mia changed into her ninja attire, feeling more comfortable and grounded. Nelson watched her with a small smile, silently admiring her resilience and strength. They lingered for a moment in the quiet of the monastery courtyard before Mia turned to him.

"Let's go get that ice cream," Mia said with a genuine smile.

Nelson grinned. "Absolutely."

Meanwhile, as Mia and Nelson left the monastery, hand in hand and heading towards the ice cream parlor, Nya turned her attention to Jay, who seemed unusually subdued. She could sense his insecurity lingering after Mia's sharp comment.

"Hey," Nya said gently, reaching out to touch Jay's arm. "Don't take what Mia said too personally. She's just stressed."

Jay sighed, his shoulders slumping. "I know, but maybe she's right. Am I really... fat?"

Nya shook her head firmly. "Jay, you're not fat. You're strong and fit. You're a ninja, remember? And you work hard to keep up with all the training and missions. Mia was just... well, you know how she gets sometimes."

Jay nodded slowly, a small smile forming. "Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Nya. I guess I just need to brush it off."

Nya smiled warmly at him. "Exactly. Come on, let's go back to the others. I think they could use some cheering up too."

Jay nodded again, feeling reassured by Nya's words. Together, they headed back to join Cole, Kai, and Zane, who were waiting at the base. As they approached, Cole jumped up excitedly.

"Hey, you're back!" Cole exclaimed, trying to lighten the mood. "Did Mia and Nelson go get ice cream? I could really use some too."

Kai chuckled, nudging Cole playfully. "You're always up for ice cream, Cole."

Zane smiled warmly. "Welcome back, Jay. Everything alright?"

Jay nodded, feeling better now. "Yeah, thanks, guys. I'm good."

Just then, Mia and Nelson returned, their hands still intertwined. Mia had a slight grin on her face, and Nelson looked content.

"We got the ice cream," Nelson announced proudly, holding up a bag filled with cold treats.

Mia grinned mischievously. "And I got extra for everyone. You can thank me later."

Cole cheered, reaching eagerly for the bag. "Yes! You're the best, Mia!"

As they all gathered around, enjoying the ice cream and each other's company, the earlier tension began to fade away. Mia's sharp words were forgiven and forgotten in the joy of the moment. They were a team, through thick and thin, supporting each other as they faced whatever challenges came their way in their life as ninjas.

And Mia turned to Jay and said, " Oh yeah, Mr. I'm- so- fat- of- love- for- my- little- sister. You're doing the laundry."

Jay choked on his ice cream, caught off guard by Mia's remark. The others burst into laughter, knowing Mia was just teasing him in good spirits.

"Wait, what?" Jay spluttered, wiping his mouth with a napkin. "Since when did eating ice cream make me responsible for laundry?"

Cole chuckled, patting Jay on the back. "You heard her, buddy. Ninja rules."

Kai grinned mischievously. "Yeah, Jay. Better get to it before Mia changes her mind."

Zane, always the voice of reason, interjected with a smile. "Well, if it helps, Jay, I'll assist you with the folding."

Nya laughed softly, enjoying the light-hearted banter. "Looks like you're outnumbered, Jay."

Jay sighed dramatically, feigning defeat. "Fine, fine. I'll do the laundry. But only because I love my little sister."

Mia winked at him, and pecked him on the cheek. " That's my brother."
