Chapter 48: Lloyd's storytime

Pressed up against the cork board was a sheet of paper, addressing all of the side quests the resistance has been through all over the city. The last box at the very bottom was X-ed out. The water ninja, "Ok! That's the mysterious disappearance of Lloyd Garmadon part 2 checked out." declared to the members sitting on the couches situated at the centre of the room. The green ninja was reading through the list on the wall, he was beside Nya. "Yeah, I apologize for that. I'll try not to disappear often anymore." The blonde let out a small chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head nervously. All ten eyes gleaming at him. A chuckle was heard, "Well you better fulfill that promise, you miss quite a lot when you go missing." from the orange-coded general.
There was a bit of silence between Killow and Lloyd. Did he hear that right?
"What? Do you mean you guys do things without me?" He mockingly pouted. Of course, he wasn't actually serious. He was happy for his friends that they managed to bond and get along with one another despite him not being able to join in the fun himself. "Not particularly, we just want to spend more time with you." Ultra Violet clapped her hands, a cheerful smile spread across her fang-wise teeth. Lloyd chuckled in response to that. "Alright, just for the team. I'll be on high alert next time." He assured them. However, keep in mind that wasn't a promise made from the green ninja. Yet, he couldn't really gamble his luck in these kind of situations. Ultra Violet, Killow, Nya, Harumi and when the robot in the room gave relieved looks. "That's settled then, we won't be losing the green ninja anytime soon." Killow cheered.
It was the middle of the afternoon, the skies tilting to a more starry presentation. But no one was in the mood to go to bed just yet. It was if today was never truly ending. Ever since they found Lloyd, it was like everyone wanted to spend extra time with him, yelling him the tales of the Resistance and ask him about his misfortunate tales by Borg tower. The water ninja reserved this small room for the meantime, Lloyd did say he had some stories to tell everyone. Lloyd hummed to himself, he still remembered the initial reaction of the ninjas upon seeing him return from the clutches of Garmadon. All five of them were quite happy to see him. When the silence was finally replaced with the sound of a voice, "Then start." Nya prompted him with sparkling eyes.
Lloyd found himself being confused for a second. "Sorry?" He muttered.

"You know what exactly what we mean. Come on, tell us what happened that day." Nya replied, sitting on the desk's chair. Harumi, Mr. E, Killow and Ultra Violet all out on attentive looks on their face. They were quite curious themselves on what had happened to Lloyd. Hopefully nothing too bad that'll trigger their desire to beat Garmadon twice as much. The green ninja gathered his words, staring at his small audience in the room. "Well see, you guys all remember it all started when I had the hiccups that day." He started off.
Harumi nodded at his mention, even adding one of her own. "Right! We were all eating outside. I told you to not eat too quickly or else you'll get hiccups."
Lloyd chuckled. "Sorry Rumi.." he replied promptly with an apology. After all, he always did kind of feel like it was needed at some point. "But I'm sure you guys remember what happened all too very well afterwards." He lifted a brow at all of them. Killow and Harumi glanced at eachother, a sly smile on their lips. They oh so desperately tried to hide it to no avail, much to Lloyd's jokingly annoyance. "We tried to scare you of course. Since it's one of the methods used to make hiccups go away." Killow raised his hands in a shrugging posture. Lloyd paced around the room a little, slightly fatigued to just be standing there. Since they would be here for awhile, he didn't want to seem dull and inanimated for the people willing to listen to his testimony.
"How did you even know that I was afraid of clowns?" He inquired, mostly glancing over at Nya. She was the one in the room that he knew for the longest. Surely, she was very much capable of knowing the answer to that. What he received for an answer was close enough to what he expected from the raven haired girl. Nya shrugged, an amused smile on her lips. "You truthfully cannot be serious. Come on, we pretty much lived in the monastery and temporarily the bounty, for countless of times. I'm very well aware that you, Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon, is afraid of clowns." Nya proclaimed. Harumi continued at the story from her point of view since Lloyd couldn't really say anything at the moment. "When Nya told us you were afraid of clowns, we may or may not have conducted a plan." She smiled grimly.
However, Lloyd was not having it. "I'm sure both of us know that plan blew up in our faces." He concluded, a nostalgic look on his face. Yes, it's been quite a while since he truly enjoyed his childhood, how he went to the mega monster amusement park, stole candy and practically played games all day. "And why's that?" Harumi challenged, tucking a strand of her white hair behind her ear. Of course, that was just a tease from her part. It was impossible to forget what had happened tat night. Still, Lloyd didn't question her childish attempt of a taunting question. "I woke up in the middle of the night only to find clowns in my room. I was mortified." He was interrupted by Ultra Violet. "I hope you didn't wet the bed along with it." She cackled. Ultra Violet was always insensitive about others' feelings but knew her limits thanks to the quiet one. It was all for good fun though, Lloyd knew she wasn't actually serious.
"I didn't use the door to escape and instead leaped out of the window, thinking I could get away from them easily." He told them. Man, jumping out of a window was a pretty harsh escape route, he had to admit despite training really hard.
He was a ninja, sure, however, he couldn't have guessed that the injuries will twist this situation up completely. Then again, Killow, "But why didn't you use the door to escape?" wondered. Right, he could have avoided all of this if he used the door. Lloyd gladly had an answer for that. "See Killow, if you were at a heart-pounding situation like I was, you would have blocked out all risks, your body and mind would not stop this adrenaline rush until you were in complete safety." He explained. "Or for the shorter response? I couldn't use the door since the clowns were hogging it up."
"Right, that's on us. Anyways, what happened after?" Ultra bit her lip at the start before urging Lloyd to continue on with the story. It took mere moments for him to catch his words and find out where they were in the story but nevertheless, he continued. "When I landed on the ground, it was dark, so very dark. That was one bad thing. Not only that, but I was practically hurting all over. Glass was all over the ground, hence the broken window. I was sure that I had a few broken bones but I couldn't really do anything in that situation. I thought I would be perishing in that spot but, no, I was saved by some people I didn't expect to be saved from." He confessed. Still to this day, he didn't know why the bizarro ninja decided to save him. "Huh? Who were they?" All four of them asked Lloyd. Mr. E simply tilted his head, he was lacking a voice box.
The green ninja frowned for a second. "Believe it or not, it was the Bizarro ninja. They were the ones that saved me when I was unconscious." He confessed to his friends. Now at this point of time, many of them could have been feeling hatred that burned all over. But Lloyd would prefer if they refrained from doing so. Hatred for one another didn't solve anything. Especially hatred for the Bizarro ninja that are mostly fuelled by the negative parts of the ninja. "Like I was saying, they brought me over to Borg tower and that's when I awoke in this strange green room." He said. Question marks were filled in the heads of the others. A green room? That could only mean one thing. "A green room? Then the room's destined for you then." Killow affirmed, earning a nod from Rumi.
Nya thought for a second. A green room in Borg tower? Didn't Garmadon say that green was an illegal colour? Why did they have a green room?
"Hey Rumi, did Borg tower have a green coloured room?" The water ninja turned over to the white haired princess. That was an easy response that she could answer anytime. She was the former quiet one after all, she knew that one violation all too well. "Impossible that he could have a room like that. He violated the colour green in the entire city. We even had to sacrifice a few green-coloured accessories of ours." She turned to her friends for that fact. Ultra, Killow and Mr. E nodded at her correct statement. "Alright Garmadon and if you wanted to wear green lipstick for national green ninja day? What then?" The purple coded general snarled. Harumi giggled a bit. "There's a reason why you're called Ultra Violet. Stick to your colour." She said.
"But like I was saying, when I woke up, I didn't see the Bizarro ninja. I saw...I saw my father." He glanced away from the group. All four of them didn't act surprised, really, they weren't. They've known that the most likely candidate for his kidnapping was Garmadon so why should they try to form a convincing gasp at the climax of this story time. "I hope he treated you correctly." Harumi narrowed her eyebrows. She was still rather sceptical on having Lloyd under that monster's care. But at the time, she couldn't do anything about it. Surprisingly, Lloyd smiled at them. Just a minute ago, he refused eye contact, was their interpretation of what happened all of their imagination? Did Lloyd and his father have a good time together? The green ninja made his way towards the door and opened it.
"He did actually. He really did. It felt...like I was loved, truly." He looked down, still keeping that smile on his face. "Yeah...reminds me of the old times when we spent time with the ninja and mom.." he recalled. No tears came out though, it means he was getting strong in any means possible. A few years ago, he'd sob at the mention of his father doing such cruel things for Ninjago and for him.
"But hey, I forgave him. He was genuine with me and we laughed on multiple occasions. It's like...I actually had my father back." He told the others joyfully. Nya and Harumi looked at eachother before letting it go. They couldn't argue with that as much as they tried. "As long as you think so, we'll believe your words. But remember, we need to fight him somewhat in the future. The future is coming near." The water ninja reminded him. The blonde nodded reluctantly.
"Yeah I know. But I'll be ready. Maybe we don't have to fight." He thought out loud. Not many asked about it, in fact, there was a long silence. That's until Killow had one last question in mind. He rubbed the back of his head. "Hey Lloyd, why were you in a dress earlier? Was that apart of your escape plan?" He questioned the green ninja. Still keeping the amused smile, Lloyd left the room. But before closing the door, "That is another story for another time."
