Chapter 36: Time

Chapter by: LillaSmolBean
~~~~~~~~~
It was now the afternoon when the resistance decided to think of a clever plan of attack against the current emperor. It surprised not only the members, but the green ninja as well, after hearing that last battle didn't really affect his reign on the city much. Talk about quick recovery. That's why, they had to think of something smart enough to trap the one lord in vulnerability until they resort to fixing the city and choosing a proper ruler for Ninjago city. Inside the planning room, everyone was huddled inside. Thankfully, there was room for everyone. The water ninja was relieved that the considerable small ship had room for everyone as well. It was strange though, usually planning rooms were small in size due to the fact that it wasn't really a room used much by the ninja since Master Wu would give them reports about any villain activity beforehand.
Nya put down her glass of water after taking a sip. It has been an hour and the team still didn't find a reasonable plan. Well, half of the time was nothing but the, idling their granted time and the rest was them talking about Garmadon's in general and how convenient it would be to have four arms, Much to Lloyd's dislike. The green ninja would have freaked out in that case. For example, trying to get a plate from the kitchen cabinets. If they accidentally use the wrong hand to grab the plate? And it ends up breaking into pieces on the ground. That's not only an expensive shattered plate, but also adds more fear for them. "Well? We should be a little more serious about this." She concluded, glancing around the room to hopefully catch some people who were slacking off.
"Easier said than done! We are dealing with a Garmadon, who not only has four arms but elemental powers as well!" Jay pointed out. Kai shifted slightly at the mention of their opponent's elemental powers. "Not to mention, tehy'ee dangerously powerful. Have you seen what they've done to Skylor?" He showed concern for the orange-clad elemental master. She still hasn't awoken from her poisonous trance. The raven haired girl looked down, realizing her brother's worry. "I know that Kai. We all know." She showed a tad of sadness. No, she shouldn't be sad now, they can't afford that. They needed to be strong. "That's why for Skylor's sake, we need to bring him down once and for all!" Nya spoke up, new determination appearing in her tone. The five ninja all directed their eyes on her, not to mention, the rest of the resistance had their eyes on her as well. No worries, no pressure was building up just now.
"Alright, if you guys have any ideas on what we should do to weaken our enemy's forces, please suggest them. Don't feel bad if the idea isn't exactly good." The green ninja turned to the rest of his team, giving Nya some time to think of what to say next. From that sentence, the resistance began thinking on their plan of attack. They had to think wisely, they wouldn't want another plan of theirs backfiring for any...unwanted reasons. "We can try blackmailing him?" Ultra Violet huffed, stepping in. Ofcourse, that's a very 'Ultra Violet' thing to say. That woman has proven to be quite reckless. It surprised the gang at first that she came up with such an idea, until their shock was reduced to neutrality. This was Garmadon they were talking about, they bet that Garmadon already blackmailed Lloyd and Harumi several times in the past.
That idea, however, displeased Misako. "I think secrets- especially family secrets are not tolerable." The grey-haired woman denied her idea. Only to have Ultra jab at her with a smug look. "Oh come on, the guy can't handle a petty secret? Won't he feel bad when he gets reminded that people miss him or something?" She tried not to snap at Garmadon's wife, it was hard not to though. What was embarrassing was that the white haired girl had to step in, she gently pulled Ultra Violet out of the planning room with an apologetic look towards everyone. "We'll sit around here for a few minutes." She apologized to the team and proceeded to bring Ultra Violet onto deck.
Once on the deck, Harumi glanced around, making sure there wouldn't be any eavesdroppers anywhere here. Ultra Violet looked at her with an outraged expression, she eventually calmed herself down with a loud sigh. "Why'd you have to bring me out here? Seriously Harumi, I know how to calm down by myself." She reminded ungratefully. But that wasn't the main reason the former quiet one brought the reckless cyclist out here. Finding enough silence and courage to speak, Harumi began to explain the reason. "I know you can. I'm not your mother after all." She joked afterwards, hoping to reassure Ultra from her tense state.
"But I don't think blackmailing won't do us any good. It won't to Garmadon of course. I'm mainly concerned about Lloyd though. Imagine how torn he would when his father once again denies that he has no recollection- nor cares about any of those memories? I'm not too aware if you even had any family, Violet. But please understand-" she was cut off by Ultra standing from the ground. She sighed and crossed her arms. The sky sure was beautiful this fateful afternoon. "Hold your tongue, I get it, alright? I get it?" She silenced her from saying anything else. Harumi gulped, she didn't seem at all positive after hearing that. It almost seemed like she was ready to snap back.
"Hey, are you alright Ultra Violet?" Harumi got off the wall to follow Ultra back into the meeting room. However, if she felt like her friend was still not ready to go back into a room full of people, she'd have to block the doors. Ultra, "Geez Harumi, you're really nosy today, huh?" clenched her palm into a fist when seeing the door come in from the distance. Was she gonna punch the door open? Oh no, nonononono. One, the door did nothing wrong to her. Second, the white haired girl was more than certain that the resistance would not appreciate any broken furniture that meant money spending.
Harumi walked in front of her, extending her arms out as if she was a gigantic wall in the way. She did everything she could to block the way. Anything that would block Ultra's fist and the unfortunate door. "Hey hey woah! How...about we refrain from punching the doors perhaps?" She tried to convince her with a panicked expression. Ultra Violet can get...well wild when angry. However, "What?" The grey-skinned girl gave her a confused look at what she just said.  Did she really not know? Did Harumi have to spell it out for her? The white haired girl lowered her arms- but not her guard. Her eyes were fixed on the girl standing in front of her. "Explain the fist then?" One of her fingers pointed at the fist Ultra currently had.
Her question made the cyclist look down only to find her hand was in fact curved in a fist. For the longest time, she's been wondering why the former quiet one was blocking her way when in reality, she's in a peaceful mood. Upon realizing her hand posture, she turned to Harumi. The white haired girl stood there anxiously, until, a chuckle was heard coming from Ultra Violet. The cyclist gave a small soft punch on Harumi's cheek. "You're very thoughtful, Harumi." She commented that single phrase before walking pass her. It took a few moments for Harumi to analyze through what Ultra just said, trying to understand what she meant by 'thoughtful' until she remembered,
Ultra Violet didn't have a family. She was an orphan, just like her.
~~~~~~~
Two individuals got off their motorbikes, swiftly making their way inside of a movie theatre. The taller man, "I must warn you Quiet one, this new recruit can be a bit, let's say, rough." tried to convince his boss that coming here wasn't possibly a good idea. However, the girl dressed in black didn't seem to mind the warning, "I don't care. We need those recruits. How are we supposed to resurrect lord Garmadon with just a few street punks, a robot and a gorilla?" She insulted, patience running out.

"Um..yes ma'm. Oh and by the way, I'm not exactly a gorilla-" he was stoped by a sharp glare being sent from the jade princess of Ninjago. She was in fact shorter than him but she was still oh so scary when she was mad. "How about you shut your mouth about your petty appearances and tell me where the new recruit is?" She demanded from the man. Killow nodded almost immediately. Right, he shouldn't upset her. "Yes, follow me." He led her straight into the screening room. The walk to get there didn't take very long, a good three minutes was the maximum. The door opened only to reveal a girl with a black ponytail and remarkable grey skin glare straight at them.

"This is Ultra Violet, an orphan but an amazing motorcyclist." Killow introduced the new recruit to the boss of the SOG. Harumi stepped closer to face Ultra Violet, taking in her features then glanced at Killow afterwards. "Right, I didn't think you were that funny Killow." A tone or reject was obviously heard from the quiet one. This woman, right in front of her, she was absolutely atrocious-looking! She already had to babysit a dozen of baboons to accept another one. But her opinion was changed, "So this kid wants to save the world? You've got to be joking Killow. I thought this organization wouldn't be something to laugh at." She mocked. Harumi knew at this moment, she couldn't back down. That would only be a sign of weakness, therefore, she just had to accept her.
~~~~~~~~
When the two returned, Lloyd cheerfully stood up from his chair. "You guys mostly missed the conversation." He said a bit amused. Ultra Violet made her way back to where Killow was standing. As for Harumi, she was a bit appalled by what Lloyd had just said. "But we were gone for several minutes." She retorted and leaned against the room's walls. The next one to respond was the nindroid. "Yeah well, we're ninja remember? It only takes us serval minutes to form a plan." He gave a smug smile at her direction. This made absolutely no sense to the white haired girl. This planning session took them absolutely forever to just think of one mere idea on how to trap the toughest villain they've faced so far. Yet, Zane dares to give her that attitude?
"Usually plans like these takes us several hours." Harumi responded, seeming not too impressed. Next though, Zane brought up a very good point which almost made wish that Harumi didn't go up against him. "Well yes, but that was because the team wasn't complete. You guys need four more ninja to help you think of brilliant plans. Only the best." He affirmed to her with a small chuckle.
The quiet one sighed then nodded afterwards. "What is the plan you guys came up with though?" She questioned, now curious to how brilliant Kai, Zane, Jay and Cole's thinking was. The titanium ninja exhaled before answering her question. "We were thinking on using the tea of truth once again." He explained. That only made the white haired girl and Ultra's eyes widen.
"Did I hear that right? You guys are using some dumb drink against a warlord?" Ultra argued from her spot. Killow on the other hand, took care of her legendary composure just by glancing at Harumi once. Cole raised his hands up. "I know I know, you guys might have heard of the incident that happened in the past with Luke Cunningham. But I assure you, we won't mess up this time." He tried to convince the two girls that this may be their best plan so far. Lloyd glanced over at Harumi, who was still unconvinced. "Rumi please, listen to me. This may actually work." He said softly. The room went silent for a mere moment before the former quiet one swallowed. "What if you actually drink the tea in his place?" She questioned, concerned. That's when Lloyd shook his head.
"That won't be the case, my dear. For you see, I won't be drinking tea at all." He concluded with a tiny smile. Harumi couldn't believe the nonsense she was hearing at the moment. Was this a suicide plan or what? "He will be on to something if you don't drink anything!" She retorted. Nope, she couldn't accept a plan like this, she just couldn't. Lloyd walked up to her with a sad look, he  needed to convince her. If he just chose his words carefully maybe, "Look Rumi, I know that you're worried about this whole thing. But don't worry, I have this all under my control. Garmadon won't do anything to me, I assure you." He slowly wrapped his arms around her small body.
"But...Did Mistaké even agree to this? She's the wise one that.." she couldn't finish her phrase for she wrapped her arms around him, accepting his hug. Lloyd quietly whispered to her, "Yes I did. She agreed to this plan and even gave me a meeting place that I won't go into detail if you understand." He chuckled lightly and pulled away after. If someone like Mistaké accept a plan this risky? How bad could it be? "Rumi, you need to trust me. I'll be alright. When I'm done interrogating Garmadon, I'll come back to you- I'll come back to everyone here because, you guys are my family. I can't leave you guys waiting." He smiled softly at her then at everyone in the room. A quiet sigh escaped her lips. She lifted her head to face him. "How did you have time to ask Mistaké? Me and Ultra were gone for a few minutes." She reminded once more.
Lloyd simply gave her a smug smirk, "Don't underestimate time. It's a precious thing that, no one would truly understand how much could be done in even the merest of minutes."
