It has been a few weeks ever since the incident by the school house. It was exclusively running through Lloyd's mind on the reasons that Harumi grew much stronger than the first time they met. The fact that she beat up the two boys by the town as well as faced-on the brutal Violet, impressed the blonde very much. He wished to learn from her skills however, this currently-healing leg wasn't saying much. There were times that him and Rumi actually crossed Violet and that other Killow kid in the hallways. They usually never turned out well. It resulted in the two girls glaring each other until lately, where both would avoid eye-contact whatsoever.
"Lloyd, do you know what arithmetics are?" asked the blonde girl beside him on the couch. The two were back at home from school. The weather was beautiful that's for sure. The blue skies showed pure white clouds wafting over the citizens of Ninjago's heads and the sun valiantly shone in all of its might. For Rumi, this made her want to go play at the park after school. However, for Lloyd, it was the perfect time to steal more candy. The boy turned his head to face her, his eyes were widened in curiosity. "What's arithmetics?" He wondered. Though, Harumi giggled at his pathetic and clueless response. She brought her hands that were holding her notebook closer to him and pointed at something written on it. It was a line of text in Lloyd's eyes. "Teacher said that it was basically the type of maths where we need to resolve situations." She responded to his question. "Weren't you paying attention?"
The blonde boy honestly shook his head. "I was busy thinking about what we would do after school. I never understood why homework was so important." He huffed and stared back down at his own textbook, where again, he saw a line of text. "I don't really understand this one." His finger pointed at the first question written there. Harumi's eyes locked with the math equation. What was written was: 5 x 2 +12. The girl smiled and looked at the still confused Lloyd. "Alright, this one's simple. First off, do you know your multiplication tables?" She inquired. The boy titled his head. He thought for a moment then nodded with an unconfident look. "I think? I mean, i know a few. Like 2 x 2 makes 4." He stated. In which Rumi nodded to correct him.
"That's correct. Now do you know what 5 x 2 makes?" She asked again and the boy didn't even bother responding to her inquiry. She understood however, that he was deep in thought, thinking of the solution to the problem. The girl was kind enough to give him a trick. "Just think about a bag of candy." She started, immediately causing Lloyd to exclaim: "How much candy is inside?" Like an excited dog, he went closer to her. The girl chuckled and answered. "There's 5 inside." She said which caused Lloyd to lower his shoulders in disappointment. It was obvious he wanted more than that. "But look here. Imagine another bag of candy right beside it. There was also five inside. How much candy do you have now?" She asked him.
Lloyd thought for a bit, he fiddled with his pencil and even muttered a few of his calculations out loud. "Ok, so that's more candy. 5 plus 5 makes..". He raised his hand when he found the answer. "That's 10 candies!" He exclaimed as if actually seeing the candy bags in front of him. Harumi clapped her hands. "Yes that's correct and with that, you solved 5 x 5. It makes 10." She concluded. "Now checking back to your equation, you need to add 12 to 10." She waited for him to write the answer down on his textbook. The girl already taught him additions and subtractions last week. Hearing the pencil scribble a number down, "I got it! 22!" He confidently answered and threw the pencil down to the ground.
"And you got it! See that wasn't so hard?" She giggled and got off the couch to pick up the thrown pencil. However a comment from
Lloyd made her think about more. "That's a lot of candy! Hey, what if we made an army!" He suggested. The girl, grabbed the pencil and sat back down, putting back her textbook on her lap so she could continue resolving it. "Huh? Why am army?" She seemed confused on the idea. The boy chuckled and raised his hands in the air. "A candy army of course! They'll steal all of the candy for us! 22 soldiers! We'll be swimming in candy!"

A/N: Hello! I hope you liked this short chapter! If you did, make sure to leave a vote and comment down below your thoughts. Now, when I read the previous chapter, I just had to write a homework-related chapter! However, I struggled on finding equations that were meant for 9-10 year olds. So I just sticked with that easy one! I swear, not many people know this, but I despise maths with a burning fury along with a flamethrower. So I guess I had to think of a reasonable tactic to solve an equation that a kid would understand. At first, I was gonna use a basket of apples to prove my point but then remembered that we are talking about Harumi and Lloyd here! The candy-lovers! They deserve their sweets! Anyways, hopefully this chapter wasn't a bore to the readers that already saw these things in school. I definitely have! Alright, I'll end this author's note here! Cya next time!
