Kai's P. O. V.

"Hey guys I'm going out. Be right back!" I shout to no one in particular as I walk out the door. We've all been busy since we lost master Wu. But with Lloyd as our new leader, things have been running pretty smoothly. Except for when Cole ate our cake. And when Zane accidentally froze our dinner. Yeah, other than that things are going well.

Anyway, I'm visiting Master Chen- I mean Skylor's noodle house. Mostly to get dinner, but I'm also going to see Skylor. We haven't been able to visit her for a while because us ninja are busy with the S.O.G. case and she's had a lot of work at her shop. And, I'm gonna ask her out on a -uh- a date.

Skylor's P. O. V.
(At the noodle shop)

"Next!" I shout to the seemingly infinite line of customers in front of me. "Number 3 to go please" the next man orders. "Yes sir." I say while boxing up his food. "That'll be $4.37" "Prices have gone up lately" he mumbles as he pulls a five dollar bill out of his wallet and hands it to me. As I give him his change and noodles, I hear a familiar voice "hey Skylor! Over here!"

"Hey Kai! Haven't seen you around here in a while." I tell him when I finally get a break from the cashier position. "Yeah we've been busy with a new case. You wouldn't believe who we may have to deal with." He added. "Who is it?" I asked him. "Lord Garmadon" Kai answered. "You're KIDDING!!!" I say -maybe a little too loud. Was LORD GARMADON actually gonna be a problem again?!? I mean, seriously, we just had to deal with the time twins, how much more does Ninjago have to suffer?!? 

"But I didn't come here to make you upset." Kai states.  "Oh, yeah, let me get you something to eat." I remember, assuming he came for a meal. "Wait -actually, Skylor, I came to ask you something." Kai insisted. "Ask me what?" I respond.

"Do you want to -uh- go out sometime?" He asked.  "You mean like a, a date?" I replied.  "Uh- well, yeah I guess" Kai answers. "Yes, of course! When, though?" I add. "Whenever you're free." He responded, looking around at how busy the shop was at the moment. "Yeah, give me a few minutes..." I say, leaving him and returning to my original position as a cashier, waitress, and head chef.

Little while later...

Kai's P. O. V.

"Alright, I'm back!" Skylor announced "where were we?"  "Getting ready for tonight." I tell her with a wink. "K," she responds "I'll be ready soon". We say goodbye and I head back to HQ to plan out our night.

"Hey Kai." Cole says to me as I walk in the door. Looks like he's already getting dinner ready. Good thing I'm not eating here. "Hey, Cole, I'm not gonna be here tonight. I'm going somewhere to eat." I explain. "Kai, I know none of you like my cooking, but could you at least keep it to yourself please?" Cole said. "No, that's not what I meant," I try telling him again. "I'm going out with Skylor tonight, so I won't be here."

"Oh, so we've got some Kailor happening tonight, huh?" Cole teased. "W-what? Kailor?" I ask. "Yeah, your ship name. Jay and I made it up a while ago." He responds. "Oh. I need to -uh- get ready." I say and run down the hall.

In the bedroom that all us boys share, I try on dozens of outfits for tonight. Most of them I didn't even know I had. "Hey, Zane, I need your opinion!" I shout. Maybe he'll know which one I should wear. I personally like this one

But it's not quite nice enough. Ugh. This is why I need Zane's help. He's a nindroid after all, he'll probably know what I should go with. Speaking of Zane, where is he?...

"I am coming Kai. What did you need me for?" Zane finally says. "Which outfit should I go with for tonight?" I ask him. "You mean for your date with Skylor?" Zane says.  "Yes. Let me guess, Cole already told you about it?" I ask. "No, actually. Cole told Jay. Then Lloyd. And Nya. Then Jay told me." Zane replied.  "Ugh of course he told EVERYONE already." I say, annoyed.  Zane is already looking through my closet and at the clothes I have laid out.

"Which one?" I asked Zane. "Either this one here

Or this one may be more comfortable for you." He explained.

"Yeah, I like that one better." I tell Zane. "Thanks bud."  "You are welcome, Kai." He says as he walks out. I quickly put my outfit on and mess around with my hair. "Hey Kai, aren't you supposed to be leaving soon?" Cole shouts from the kitchen. "Yeah I'll be out in a sec." I respond and run down the hall.

"Okay, guys, I'm going. Wish me luck!" I tell everyone as I'm about to walk outside. "What do you need luck for?" Zane inquired. The last thing I hear when I exit is Jay laughing at Zane's question.

When I stop at a traffic light, I pick up my phone and quickly text Skylor.

Kai: Hey, I'm on my way. 😃

Skylor: okay. How far away? ❤️

Kai: 3 minutes maybe. 😎

Skylor: 👌 I'll be ready then. 😍

Kai: K. See u soon ❤️😍💕💖😎👌☺️

As soon as I put my phone down, the light turns green. I drive on the highway for a bit before making a few turns and finally arriving at the noodle house to pick up Skylor. I send her a quick text as soon as I park.

Kai: I'm here 😉☺️❤️😎

Skylor: Coming. 😍❤️☺️🔥

I can't believe my eyes when I see here walk out. She's wearing such a beautiful orange and red dress. And her hair is down too. She almost always has it pulled up in a ponytail. "Wow, you look...I don't even have any words. I'm speechless." I tell her as she gets in my car. "Thanks. You look cute." She tells me then. I can feel my face heating up as I drive out of the parking lot.

"So where are we going?" Skylor asks me. I pull out two tickets to a drive in movie. I hand them to her and say "I thought you'd like to see this. It was the only one they had playing after your shift was over at the noodle house."

"This is awesome Kai! And it's a DRIVE IN MOVIE!?" She tells me. Gosh, she's so cute when she gets excited. "Glad you like it." I say.  "Like it!? I love it!" She responds. The whole way there, which wasn't that long, we talk about our favorite movies, Skylor's noodle shop, and other random topics.

When we arrive there's hardly anyone else here. Just two or three couples besides us. However, a few more come later while Skylor and I are setting up. "Good thing we got here early. We can park up front. Skylor says. "Yeah. Let's go now so nobody takes our spot," I tell her "we can get snacks and drinks before the movie actually starts."

Skylor's P. O. V.

Once Kai parks we grab some sodas, popcorn, and candy. 'Cause what fun is a movie without popcorn? "Do you want cheese or butter on yours?" Kai asks me. "Whatever you're having." I reply. "In that case we'll have both," Kai says " cause I can't decide." We both laugh as we walk back to Kai's car. Just as we get in and get settled, the screen lights up and the movie begins.

After the movie... =]

"I love that movie." I tell Kai. When I don't get a response from him, I look over and see that he'd already fallen asleep. Aww he's so cute when he's sleeping. I don't want to wake him up, but we can't stay here the whole night. "Hey, Kai" I say. "Hmm?" Is the only response I get from him. "Kai..." I don't know what will get him to wake up. "Kai...I - I love you." I say instead. He opens his eyes just enough to see me and says slowly "I love you too, Skylor." I put my arm around him before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thank you for tonight." I tell him before pulling his blanket further up on him and around me. Turns out we'll be staying here a little longer than expected.
