A young Kai and Nya were playing outside. The little fire ninja watched as his 3 year old sister gasped "Oh what's that." She watched every move of the creature. How it made beautiful moves in the sky and as his wings move up and down. It reminded her of a rollercoaster.

The older brother of 5 chuckled "It's a butterfly." He moved his hand up as the creature landed on his hands. "You see?"

"Oh can I touch it?" The small girl wanted to grab it but the butterfly moved away before she could reach it. "Oh." She said disappointed.

"Don't worry sis, dad taught me how to be patient. Well.. kind off." Kai smiled sheepishly.

Nya chuckled "You and patient?"

The small boy smiled as he stood up from his place "I'm working on it. Later I'll be even a better blacksmith than dad." He looked around with a confused expression "Where are they actually? They were in the shop right?"

"I don't know." The young water ninja stood beside her brother as she gazed at her surroundings "Maybe they visit Dr.Saunders again."

"Mm maybe." Kai response "Dr.Saunders acted really strange the last time.. but they wouldn't leave without saying anything."

"Maybe he's just sick, I don't know about mommy and daddy though." The small girl said.

"Well, you stay here while I'm searching for mom and dad okay?" Kai asked to his sister.

Nya whined "Why? I wanna come with you." She pouted while crossing her arms.

"Because I'm the oldest." Kai smirked while ruffling his sisters hair. "Welp I gotta go, see ya later." He walked off leaving his sister alone by the shop.

The fire ninja decided to ask his neighbors about where his parents could be. He knocked at the door as a grumpy old man came outside.

"What?" He spat out rudely.

"Oh.." Kai's face fell as he recognized the man. Once he played outside with a ball but it kind of went wrong.. the ball went right though the window as it broke down into pieces , his  father had to pay the costs. And believe me, his dad wasn't happy at all. "Well, good to see you again sir." He smiled sheepishly.

"What do you want." The man snapped "Haven't you caused enough trouble?!"

"Well I wanted to know if you had seen my parents, they've been gone for a long time." Kai tried to stay polite, yes even when he was young he had a kinda short temper. Just like his dad.

"No i haven't see them, Now get out of here!" The old man yelled. After his sentence, he slammed the door in the fire wielded face.

"Well that's rude.." Kai muttered to himself.

He asked his other neighbors without luck. Now there was only one option.

He decided to go to one his parents good friends. Dr.Saunders. He always found that man strange, I mean how does he get a long black beard?! That's crazy right.

When he finally arrived he opened the doors as he saw the man he was looking for. "Dr.Saunders?" Kai asked while approaching the man.

"Wha-who's there?!" Dr.Saunders said alert. But when he saw the little boy he relaxed a bit. "Kai, what are you doing here?" He smiled nervously.

"Have you seen my parents? They've been gone for a long while." The boy made big eyes which looked adorable. It always worked when he wanted something from his parents or other people.

"Oh I have no idea! I'm so sorry!" Dr.Saunders quickly said. "Well I think it's time to go for you! It's already late and-" He was cut off by a loud sound. Like metal falling from a high distance.

"What's that?" Kai asked wide eyed. He wanted to walk over the place where the sound came from but Dr.Saunders quickly stand before him.

"Oh I-it's nothing! Yeah nothing! Just some old meta- I mean, books! who had fallen of the closet or something!" Saunders quickly brushed off. He pushed Kai a bit before he was standing outside "Well, see you another time Kai. I hope you will find your dear beloved parents!" He smiled while closing the door.

"Okay, that was weird." Kai said suspicious but shrugged afterwards "I will go back to the shop."
He hoped that his parents will come back soon. He was really worried. What if they wouldn't come home. Nya wouldn't have a normal childhood and Kai had to keep Four Weapons running. No, he couldn't let that happen to her. She needs a mom and dad.

When Kai was almost there he could hear Nya screaming. "Nya!" Kai yelled while running towards the shop. Stupid, stupid! How could've he let her alone?!
When Kai stood in the door opening he saw 2 man holding knives and.. his sister?! "Nya!" Kai yelled "Leave her alone!" He glared at the man.

"Or what? You will kick our butts?" One of the man taunted. They both laughed as Kai picked up his fathers sword.

"I said, leave her alone." Kai repeated darkly while holding the sword threateningly towards them.

"No." He man smirked. But Kai being the hotheaded child yelled as he wanted to attack the man. It worked for a part though. He managed to slash at the mans leg as Nya fell on the ground. She stood up and wasn't injured, but scared anyway.

"AAAH!" The man yelled while holding his leg "You.." he said threateningly. He lunged at Kai. But the child dodge as he kicked the other man.

"Grab him you fool! He's a 5 years old!" The man yelled at his partner.

He quickly obeyed as he wanted to stab Kai. But Kai blocked it as he pushed it away with his sword. Reacting quickly, Kai slashed at the mans chest as The man groaned in pain and fell to the ground.
"Go away and leave while you can. Or stay here and suffer the consequences." He glared. Nya was really surprised with what Kai just did. But she never knew that their father taught Kai a few fight tricks... which was of course forbidden from the siblings mom.

The man who lay on the floor yelled in anger as he lunged at Kai again. This time Kai wasn't ready. The knife scratched against his left eye and eyebrow as a scar was revealed. The young fire wielder of course screamed in pain as he held his eye.

The man chuckled darkly "Your mine no-" but to be cut off by Nya who slapped him with a boomer.

"Let's get out of here!" The other man yelled while dragging the other with him. As soon they were out of the siblings sight. Nya rushed over to her brother. "Are you okay?" She asked concerned, slightly panicking.

Kai winced "Y-Yeah.." He removed his hand as he looked at Nya with a painful and sad expression "Is it that bad?"

Kai could've sworn Nya's eye twitched but ignored it anyway "What?" Nya put on a fake smile "Where did they even hit you?"

Kai sighed "I'm sorry Nya.. I-I shouldn't have let you alone.." he sat on the floor with glassy eyes. No, he had to stay strong for Nya. "This is all my fault.."

"Kai.." Nya scooted closer to her brother "This isn't your fault.. we both didn't knew that this would've happen.."

There was a painful silence until Nya decided to speak again.

"Mommy and daddy aren't coming back.. are they?" She said sadly. Tears wanted to stream down her cheeks.

"I don't.. know." Kai sighed. He looked beside him to see Nya crying, he quickly hugged his dear sister as he wanted to calm her down. "Ssst... Nya, hey.. it's okay.." he said gently while running his fingers through her hair.

"What are we gonna do?" She sobbed "I miss mommy and daddy.."

"Me too Nya.." he whispered. He hummed a song which always worked when Nya was sad or something. He pretty much taught it from his mother.

When he was done, he saw Nya asleep. He put her in her bed and sat in front of the shop, looking at the stars. He couldn't hold it any longer. Tears streamed down his face as he sobbed. "Why..?" He whispered "Why did you two leave us?"

"I miss you.." he wiped his tears as a brush of wind flew past him. No, he had to stay strong for her and for himself. He need to protect her, his whole life. If he lose Nya, he wouldn't know what to do. He will also take care of the shop, he wouldn't let his father's business down. He would his best for Nya. He want her to live a normal life, although it isn't gonna be easy. But since his parents disappearance he had no choice

Since that day he promised that he'll protect his sister with his life. And if he promised something, he wouldn't even dare to break it.

Little did they know, was that an friend of Ray and Maya watched them the whole time.
