It was the beginning of the tournament and Chen couldn't wait when the elemental masters have to fight. He is smiling in his chair as a man with a deep voice disturbed him.

"Master" He said while holding a book "The ninja are behaving.. suspicious.. we need to keep an eye on them."

"Yes, Clousey clouse. But no magic, I love it to see them struggling.." Chen smirked while pushing in a button as a glass with water fell right into his hand.

"Euhmm.." Clouse began as he watched Chen drink his water "Yes.. Skylor already have an eye on that red ninja, she can manipulate him and the others."

When the red head was finished with drinking, he throws the glass aimlessly through the room they were in at "Aah, good. Still i can't believe it has been this long since..." he began but trailed off.

"Since.. What, Master?" Clouse asked while raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing!" Chen said quickly "There is nothing, now thank you for your information. You can go." He waved his hand at Clouse for a sign to leave.

But he didn't move a muscle "Is there something you want to tell me?" He asked suspiciously. "I'm your right man, I would never betray you or something like that."

Chen give in and sighed "Fine, I will tell you."

Clouse was a little bit surprised that he came this far, he never actually talked like this to Chen. It's new but not bad.

"I had once a wife, her name was Laurie. She was the.. most beautiful woman in the world. We bared a child and we were happy." Chen smiled at the thought but it faded quickly "When I came after that Skylor has inherited her mother's power.. I was a little jealous.."

"I wanted to be like other elemental masters, being not boring." He continued "I've tried everything.. but it wouldn't work out. Once a day there was an ambush in our village. But the weirdest thing was that there were snakes. we were all terrified." Chen sighed as the wanted to continue "But then I heard a scream, I looked outside and saw that an Anacondrai wanted to stab my daughter, I heard my wife gasp beside me."

Chen blinked back tears "She rushed outside without thinking twice and.. sacrificed herself.. she jumped in front of Skylor and then.. she died.. I-I've tried to save her but.. there was so much blood and.. I failed."

"I.. didn't know that..I'm sorry for your loss.." Clouse said with sadness and emphatic in his voice "She must've been an wonderful wife."

Chen smiled a bit as he looked at Clouse "She was.." he response "She was the wife I've never could image.. it was my fault that she died though.. I should've known Skylor wasn't in our house, I could've done something.. but.. I didn't.. But if I had powers, then I would be the strongest in all of Ninjago. I could save my wife, I would be.. happy."

Clouse didn't know that Chen all been thing through. The red head normally was a comic. He always make jokes in a.. weird way, but jokes. He couldn't help but feel bad for his Master.

"It isn't your fault..you didn't know.." the raven haired man said gently. He put his hand on Chen's knee for comfort.

Chen smiled a bit. It has been a long time since someone actually cared about him. Yeah he had a daughter, but they never really were that close. "Thank you.. Clouse.."

The dark magic wielder wanted to say something back but is interrupted by a guard. "The metal man, Karloff, is coming." He bowed for a moment before standing in his position.

"U-um Y-yeah." Chen stuttered before steadying his voice "Bring out the loser!"
