Kais best friend POV:

Me and Kai were in a heated argument, he had nearly gotten killed during the last mission trying to save his teamates.

"I just don't see why you're so worried about me! I handled it! And I'm alive. Isn't that a good thing?" Kai yelled as he crossed his arms.

From his raging expresssion, I could tell that he was not in the mood for this. We've had arguments before but not as bad as this.

"Kai!! I worry about you because you were nearly going to get yourself killed!" 

I look anxious and worried for Kai. Why does he not understand that life is not replaceable?

Kai huffed.

 "Yeah, but I'm not dead! So what's your issue?!" He yelled.

He then added, "And it's not like I'm the only one who almost died! How come you're not yelling at Jay?!"

I stare at him. His smokey eyes are ridden with an icy glare. 

We've been friends since kindergarten so his raised voice doesn't surprise me.

"Oh don't you worry about Jay, Nya is handing him," I say sternly.

Kai sighed and looked away.

"Okay, but my point still stands! I'm not dead and that's all that matters!" He said, mumbling.

"Ok, let's just forgot about this," I say, pulling him into a hug.

I know that we both won't forget about this. We're both hurt from this experience. But this topic has gone on way too long.

Kai drops being mad and hugs back. His buff arms embrace my waist and I feel his warm breathing on my shoulders. I gently rake his bouncy, hazelnut brown hair. It's an amazing feeling. 

Kai POV:

I felt better, knowing that we can hug it out. Yes, I may have overreacted but I hadn't realised just how much she cared about me.

She rakes my hair. I love it when she does that. It makes me feel tranquil and safe.

I look up to see her bold, minty green eyes. Her eyes are what make her stand out from a crowd, like a gorgeous swan in a lake of ducks.

After what felt like an eternity of continuous hugging, we let go of each other.

She cracks a smile and I smile back. I'm so happy to have an great friend like her.
