New Neighbours|Jaya|Real Life AU
Oh boy, I've got some stuff to say.
First of all, at the time of writing this, it's in the top 10 for Jaya. Wth XD.
Second, if you're wondering why I didn't post a oneshot last week, it's because I wrote one for the challenge we prepared along with Austin. So go check it out on his account cause it turned out really good!
And finally, third and last, I hope you don't mind the oneshots being mostly Jaya ;3.
I actually used one of the prompts I posted in the first chapter because I had writer's block. But I do have a nice Pixane idea from Austin and a Movie Star Jaya AU to write about ;).
Let's begin!
"Are you sure about this? It's a bit too risky," Jay said, trembling as he stepped on the skateboard.
"Says the one who put his hand in a toaster," Cole said without missing a beat. He raised a brow, giving him a knowing look. "Besides, we need to teach you how to skate if we want to win Morro's bet."
Jay just looked the other way in annoyance, pretending not to have heard that. He was still angry that they signed him up for this. All this drama for who gets the best table at the cafeteria. He already knew not to mess with Morro, and now he had to win a race against him.
They had decided to practice in their own neighborhood as there weren't many skateparks around. But that wasn't the best choice either, as there were still a few problems they had to face.
"What if I land in front of Cyrus's house?! You know how he feels about us not using a helmet!" Jay panicked once again.
"Cyrus has moved after his recent injury. Everything here makes it too difficult for him to move around," Zane joined in on the conversation, sighing.
Jay still remembered that time their Science teacher added the wrong chemical into the bottle. He felt lucky he was late to class that day because it resulted in his teacher breaking both his legs. He still doesn't know how it happened, a few rumors say he crashed into a wall from the force. Though it's still a mystery. Then he remembered.
"Wait, so what about Pixal? And his house?" He asked.
"I'll still be able to meet with her from time to time," Zane smiled shyly, blushing a little. "As for the house, it'll probably gain a new owner within the next few days. It's quite a cheap house, so it shouldn't be difficult for it to find a new owner."
"Can we just start practicing already? We've only got an hour before Morro comes!" Cole exclaimed, turning Jay's head to look at the road.
Jay groaned, with Zane looking rather nervous beside him. He didn't support the whole thing in the first place, but he acknowledged how important this was to Cole.
"Okay, so you'll stop at the end of the sidewalk. Try to walk into a straight line and avoid crashing on any sign, okay?" Cole instructed him, holding his shoulders.
Jay nodded, still not fond of the idea, and tried to move. A few tries later, and he boosted himself far enough to gain some speed. Too much speed. To the point where everything slowly became a blur.
He managed to slow down, but he was still fast enough to beat someone like Morro. He took a glimpse behind his shoulder to see Cole cheering him in the distance, Zane standing beside him and giving Jay a thumbs up.
He was almost at his destination, but he couldn't help but take a small glance at Cyrus's now old house, just out of curiosity. His eyes widened in surprise when instead of Cyrus Borg or his daughter, he saw a beautiful girl watering the flowers in the small garden outside the house.
Her hair was styled into a short bob, and he could just barely her chocolate brown eyes from this distance. She was wearing a red, kimono-like dress and held a watering can in her hand.
What distracted Jay even more than her beauty (and even scared him a little) was the large dog that played around the yard as well. Sure, they looked cute playing together, but it seemed strange when the dog was a full-grown Doberman.
CRASH!
Before Jay could even think of a word to say, he tripped and fell, crashing onto the sidewalk. With the skateboard landing right on his chest as well, he sat there for a second, as it was too hard for him to even get up. He got distracted by the pain once again, so much so he couldn't acknowledge the two figures looking down at him.
It was only when Jay heard a soft female voice call out to him. His view was blocked when he tried to look at the person though, because of a dark blurry creature that was blocking his sight.
Realizing it was the dog he'd seen before, he couldn't help but scream and crawl a few steps back in defense.
"Flame!" The girl pushed the dog out of the way, focusing again at Jay. "Are you okay?" She said in a worried tone.
Jay blushed a bit by how close their faces were but managed to say some words in the end. "Y-yeah! I, I'm totally fine!" He managed to say, cursing himself for stuttering.
"I wouldn't exactly say you're fine," she smiled, gesturing at his face and hand. Even her smile was beautiful. Jay looked at his hand to see a few scratches on it.
"Come inside," the girl said. "I think I have a few spare bandages." She took his hand to help him stand up, and with Flame following right behind them, they went inside the house.
The house was messy, with tons of boxes spread around. Then Jay realized that these were probably the new owners of Cyrus's house. He couldn't resist but doing a little happy dance inside his head, smiling at the girl beside him.
She moved all the boxes aside, opening one of them to take out a few bandages. Luckily a few furniture was still there, so they both could sit on the couch.
Instead of letting him do it himself, she wrapped the bandages around his arm while Flame rested his head on Jay's lap. It felt nice, despite the dog's terrifying appearance.
"Anddd.. Done!" she smiled.
Jay decided to start a conversation instead of leaving like he was supposed to do. He even ignored the others who should've come back for him already.
"So.. I'm guessing you and your dog are moving here?" He asked.
The girl nodded. "We just moved here from Ignacia. Well, my brother is staying with me as well, but he's out looking for a job. I'm guessing you live here?"
Jay nodded as well. "I live a few houses away, so welcome to the neighborhood!" He tried to break the awkwardness, and it seemed to be working.
"Thanks," she giggled. "It's nice that I met at least one person here. Not that I knew anyone back home.." Her smile soon turned into a frown, raiding the awkwardness once again.
"I think that you'll make tons of new friends here!" Jay reassured her. "I can introduce you to some of my friends if you'd like," he said a bit more shyly this time, preparing himself for rejection.
"I don't see why not," she said, even causing Flame to wag his tail and lick Jay's face.
"It means he likes you," she winked, causing Jay to blush even more. "I'm Nya, by the way," she introduced herself.
"Um, J-Jay."
For the rest hour or so, they both sat on the couch and chatted. Flame occasionally slept between them, so Jay got used to him as well.
Turns out both she and her brother were going to be attending the same high school as them, although she was a little younger than all of them. Her older brother Kai, was in the same year as Jay, so he'd probably get to meet him soon enough as well.
He was too afraid to ask about their parents at first, but he ended up questioning her about it. That was a decision he immediately regretted since he learned that their parents had died a long time ago.
He was lucky enough to change the subject quickly, telling her the story of how he ended up outside her house. Well, not the whole truth. He didn't want to tell her about the bet, that he was distracted by her, or that it was his first time ever skateboarding. He didn't want to seem like a loser to such a perfect girl.
"You know how to skateboard? We should go skate sometime soon then!" she said.
Jay panicked a little inside, but luckily Flame's bark interrupted him and he managed to avoid the question.
"Oh, that must be Kai," she got up from her seat, and Jay followed in right behind her along with Flame.
"Um, I'm here if you need help with moving and stuff, by the way," he said, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
Nya just flashed him a smile and nodded before opening the door. But it wasn't Kai.
Instead, a tall, slim teen stood on the other side of the door. He had black hair with a single green streak. He wore a leather jacket and ripped jeans, along with dark sunglasses that he held in his hand. His eyes were angry, just as the rest of his expression. He seemed to be glaring at Jay, but he couldn't help but notice Nya and Flame beside him too. The situation was.. tense, to say the least.
"Can I.. help you?" Nya raised a brow, confused. Instead she was pushed to the side, with the teen from before grabbing Jay's wrist.
"You're late," the teen said, glaring at Jay.
Jay gulped. "Heyyy, Morro... Nice weather we're having today," he said.
Morro tightened the grip on Jay's wrist, pulling him closer to him. "Listen Walker. We had a bet. You're not skipping it to make out with some random girl," he growled.
"I wasn't-"
Nya glared at Morro as well, still a bit surprised by the whole situation. "I suggest you leave," she said, grabbing ahold of Morro's wrist.
Morro, seeing Flame suddenly appear behind Nya, backed down. Flame started growling at him, his sharp teeth revealing. He was frightening enough to make Morro himself scared.
"Tch, whatever," he let go of Jay, rolling his eyes. "This isn't over yet, Walker," he growled, storming off.
Jay turned towards Nya, his eyes widened. "How did you-"
Nya simply shrugged her shoulders, grinning.
Right at that time, two other teens ran up to them. Jay recognized them as Zane and Cole, who were rather late to the party at this point.
"Sorry, we were late! We tried to warn you-" Cole tried to catch his breath.
"We're extremely sorry for the disturbance," Zane turned to Nya, apologizing.
"Oh, it's fine," Nya waved her hand dismissively, shrugging the subject off. "Me and Flame here will have to go back inside now. It's better if we finish moving early."
"Oh, so you're the new owners?" Zane inquired, Nya nodding in response. "We're sorry we can't help you at the moment."
"Don't worry about it," Nya said. "Besides, my brother will come back later in the afternoon," she reassured them.
Cole, who was watching the conversation the entire time, landed his gaze on Jay, who kept staring at Nya, with heart eyes and a dreamy sigh. He looked a few times between them as Nya talked with Zane.
"I think Jay is pretty free right now. What do you say he helps you move in?" Cole said, winking at Jay.
"Oh, it's okay, really. I don't want to be a burden," Nya said, looking at Jay.
"A burden? Of course not!" Jay didn't think before answering. "I'll help you! And maybe I could show you around if you like.." He said more shyly, pivoting his foot in a circle.
Nya smiled. "Come on then. I think Flame will be thrilled to have a new friend."
Haha, I din't know how to end this..
But I hope you enjoyed!
C ya!
