⚠So. This is the first oneshot I ever wrote. And because I posted it in my sketch book and blog, you might not have seen it. Plus, I didn't know grammar back then so there's that. Hope you enjoy it more now!⚠

Ah, yes. Shipping Day. We always start with the OTP. And I think I found a pretty neat way to cover it up. Now, I could consider this a Movie Jaya, but it's more like an AU Jaya.

Writing Canon stuff is hard ;-;.

Also excuse me if the ending doesn't make any sense, I just wanted to add in some more Jaya fluff *ω*.

Jay's POV

'Where is she?' I thought to myself. I've been sitting here for a while now and she still hasn't showed up. I have been planning this date for like a week. I just hope it's nothing serious.

I decided that it was finally time to check my phone and text her. I pulled it out of my pocket, only to see that I had got new notifications, some of them being from social media. I got through my emails and stuff, but when I got to the media part, I saw her.. With another dude.. Freaking kissing. That picture was posted 10 minutes ago.. And I have been waiting here for almost an hour. 'Great..' I let out a sigh as I angrily closed my phone.

"Uh.. Sir..? Are you waiting for someone..?" I heard a voice ask me as I saw a waiter question me, looking kind of awkwardly. I looked around to see that people were starting to give me some weird looks, as I tried to hide my awkwardness. Though before I could answer, a familiar figure came up to me, looking pretty nervous.

"Hey babe..! Sorry I'm late! You haven't been waiting long, have you?" She quickly rushed to sit down, as the waiter smiled.

"I'll come later to take your order." She nodded as the waiter went back to the kitchen.

I was dead confused by this point, so I tried to get it together and speak. "Nya? What are you doing here?" I questioned her as she slightly grinned. Nya and I are mostly sorta friends, as I only know her as Kai's younger sister. Kai and I are pretty close friends, though I rarely go to his house for projects and stuff, as we mostly hang out at the park. So seeing even one member of his family here, it almost seemed impossible to me.

"Oh just.. walking around, I guess..!" Her tone of voice quickly changed to an excited, yet anxious one. "I was passing by when I saw you akwardly standing there and I just came in to say hi!" She exclaimed. "Oh and the 'babe' part, well, I just thought that you were waiting for someone!" She chuckled.

"Thanks, I guess. But I really have to get going now. It was nice seeing you though." I sighed, getting up from my seat. I looked back once more, to see that she was pretty mad at me, when she finally snapped.

"You won't let this stupid person ruin your night! Come on! It's Valentine's Day! Just have fun!" She crossed her arms, making some people stare at us.

"Fine then, what should I do alone on Valentine's when every one of my friends is out with their loved ones, or just don't care at all?" I raised a brow, waiting for her answer.

"We can hang out together! I mean, as friends! It will be fun.. Right?" She asked, akwardly rubbing the back of her neck. And.. here come the puppy eyes. Just as I expected.. 'Don't say yes, don't say yes..'

"Yeah, why not?" I mentally facepalmed so hard I could almost feel the hit. I really have to practice on saying no someday. I guess I should take that as an opportunity to relax a bit. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't hate Nya and even though I don't see her very often, she's quite good company. And I even feel bad for her wanting to cheer me up, especially wasting her time on it. If I'll be wasting her time, might as well make up for it.

"Uh, I had planned some other stuff, we could hang out there." I casually suggested, as she nodded and dragged me out of the building. To be honest, I now feel bad for the restaurant. I just sat there without ordering anything for about an hour.

I started to walk towards the nearby mall where an ice rink was recently opened. And it's going to be more akward now, since someone was supposed to help me improve my skating skills tonight.. Living in a desert means that you basically don't know what weather is, at all. It's warm, sunny and always sunny. And not in a good way..

"So.. how did you end up there?" She looked up at me and wondered, making me face her. I sighed, as I knew this was going to be a long story.

"Just to cut it short, I kinda got ditched by my well, now ex-girlfriend. And I just sat there waiting like an idiot, while she was going out kissing random dudes." I slightly clutched my fist as I looked down.

A few moments passed as I turned my head to the right to where Nya was, only for me to see that she was instead a few steps behind me, standing. She was clutching her fist as well, eyes closed. It was like she was about to sing an anime opening or something.

She took a deep breath before she started. "So, you're saying, that someone ditched and cheated on you on Valentine's Day?" She clenched her fist even more. "It's really not a big deal-" I tried to reassure her, before she continued. "How could someone do that?! Especially to such an amazing person! I mean, you're funny, pretty, smart and-.. I should probably stop right about now.." She cut herself off, awkwardly lowering her head. My eyes slightly widened, as I was really surprised about, well, everything. These are some of the nicest things everyone's ever said to me. And I didn't really expect them to come from her.

An awkward silence followed once again, but this time I was still in shock. We finally arrived at the place, as we went ahead to take our ice skates. Since it was Valentine's Day, all the skates had heart designs on them, making it pretty funny to see some singles around here wear these. Well, I forgot that I was now single as well, so I should probably stop talking..

"Okay.. let's do this." She mumbled to herself as she slowly stepped on the ice. Oh.. Okay.. I remember.

(I love this trope so you bet I'll be using it! I regret nothing!)

"I'm sorry.. Forgot you couldn't skate. Kai still hasn't taught you has he?" I slightly chuckled, stepping onto the ice.

"Uhm.. He actually doesn't know either.." She giggled. "Wait, so Kai was lying to me?! He owes me 10 bucks!" I laughed. It was actually pretty funny as Kai would always say 'I'll not go so you don't get in my shadow', but boy, am I gonna blackmail him now.

"Oh and for the record, I already know a few stuff. Even if five year olds are probably better than me.." She chuckled, looking over at a young girl who was dancing around the rink. Woah.. Okay. You've got to admit, she's got the moves.

"Don't worry, I'm not the best either.. Just hang on to me, I guess. Unless I fall, then we're both screwed." I told her as she let out a soft giggle.

She slowly entered the ring, slightly tripping on the way. At least she could slightly move around with those things, which was still better than nothing. I just have to practice direction, but overall, I know a few things.. Like.. Walking. It's not as easy as it seems okay?!

"I think I'm getting the hang of this! Told you I would- Woah!" She stood proudly before losing her balance and clinging onto my arm to prevent her fall. "Well, I did say that five year olds are better than me.." She looked up at me and gave me a sheepish smile.

"Don't worry about it." I slightly chuckled. 'I think it's kind of adorable..!'

"W-what?" She giggled. 'Oh crap! I said that out loud didn't I?' I thought as I felt slight blush creep up my cheeks.

"I guess we're both awkward in one way or another."

"Agreed."

"Um, do you think I could move on my own now?" We both glanced down at our hands to see that we were both still clinging into each other's arms.

"Right.. Are you sure you can make it on your own from here?" I smirked, looking at all the other people who were going full on ballerina mode in the rink.

She slowly let go of my arm as we tried to keep our balance. We finally figured out how to walk properly, even if we could only do the soldier turn. Skating around isn't that easy, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty fun.

I can finally get out of Zane's shadow with my minor skills. Though he's still better than me. It's like he has powers or something! I guess that's the reason why he's earned the title of Elsa..

"Hey, um I just wanted to ask you..-" She started talking, before a voice interrupted her.

"Hey, you two! We're closing!" That's when we looked around and noticed that we were the only ones left in the whole place.

"Never mind.." She slightly mumbled as we skated towards the exit. At least that dude wasn't mad at us, as we saw that we had actually stayed 30 more minutes after closing. I guess time passed without us realizing.

"I'm exhausted..!" She said, stretching her arms a bit. "I know!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands in the air.

"Are you in for some cotton candy?" I asked her, excitedly pointing to a candy shop across the street.

"Huh. How convenient. Well, I dragged you out of a restaurant, so might as well go!" She once again dragged me towards it.

At first, we had the classic argument of who's going to pay, but the cashier just handed them to us for free. He used the excuse of Valentine's Day, though I'm pretty sure he was just tired of our playful arguing.

We found a nearby bench to sit on and eat our cotton candy. We chatted for a bit, though I wouldn't exactly call making cotton candy beards chatting.

"You know, I never was much of a sweet tooth, but this stuff is amazing!" She exclaimed, as I laughed along.

"Well, you can thank me for introducing you into this sugary goodness." I said proudly, clutching my heart. After we finished them
-which wasn't a long time later-, we just threw them away into the nearest trash can. After that, it was just some less awkward chatting again.

*cheesey dialogue and scene incoming*

"You know what? Thank you." I randomly spoke up.

"For what? Joining you in your embarrassing skating skills?" She smirked, crossing her arms.

"No dummy! For giving me probably the best Valentine's Day ever. Even if it was just a hang out.." I may or may not have sounded a bit too disapointed in the last sentence.

"I'm glad I made your da- well, evening." She chuckled. "And.. it could be something more if you wanted to.." She mumbled, slowly moving her hand close to mine's.

"I-I would like that." Our hands moved even closer until they intertwined. We slightly looked up at each other, giggling.

"Your brother is so gonna kill me for this.."

"Just as your girlfriend.."

"Well, cheating and standing someone up isn't the most trustworthy thing. The term ex-girlfriend would be preferred." I said doing my best robot impression.

"I guess you're right." She chuckled. "Now it's my turn. Thank you, for everything you did today, as well as giving me the opportunity to do this.." She slightly smirked, before pecking my cheek. The only things that were keeping us warm right now were probably our tomato red faces.

"I should have probably talked sooner.." She awkwardly said as she scooted closer.

"Yeah.." I chuckled as we gave each other a small -but long- hug.

"Do you think it's too soon..?" She lowered her head.

"Yeah, but hey, if you were able to wait so much time, I don't think you should to wait any longer." We both laughed as we then stood there in silence. This was probably the best Valentine's ever. If getting cheated on means that I'll end up like this, then so be it.

Because today I may or may not have found a new friend or even something more. And on Valentine's Day for crying out loud! Can't this get any better?

I looked down back at Nya, feeling my body a little heavy. I gently pushed away her bangs from her face, to see that she had fallen asleep. I guess you can blame anxiety for making me too nervous to wake her up, even though she looks pretty cute.

I guess this day can get better.

It's done! I didn't really say anything about this, mainly because it's a practice thingy for me.

I really can't remember how or why I got the idea.. I just wanted to test the aspect of Nya being the one to have a crush on Jay 🤷‍♀.
