Party Foul | Kailor AU

(This has been half finished in my drafts for like 2 months, whoops. It was meant for Halloween but it works nonetheless. Enjoy!"

Skylor's POV

"Why hello there, gorgeous," I roll my eyes at my best friend's brother, shoving him out of the doorframe and walking into their small apartment.

"Where's Nya?" I ask, checking the time on my phone. Our movie night is supposed to start in ten minutes.

"Shower. I'm going in there after her. You can join me, if you want," he winks at me.

"Do you ever stop?"

"It's funny seeing how unraveled you get," he walks into the small kitchen that is attached to the living room. "Do you want some water? You sure look thirsty. Of course, I could always help you with that one, too."

"Haha, that's a new one," I walk straight through, sitting down on the couch. "You're lucky Nya loves you so much or else I wouldn't tolerate you at all."

"Same goes for you. You always have a stick up your ass," he takes a sip of water.

"Or I'm just intolerant with you because of all of the crap you put Nya through. She told you that your friends were bad influences, but you didn't listen and then..."

"I know what happened," he rolls his eyes,"but I have new friends now."

"Yet you still manage to be an arrogant douchebag."

"I am thee arrogant douchebag, for your information," he walks out of the kitchen and leans against the wall. "I have reasons to be though. You yourself called me hot."

"We were fourteen," I disprove it. It just makes him smirk.

"It still happened, and I'm never letting it go..."

"It was literally 4 years ago, and trust me, things have changed since then."

"Yeah, I've gotten hotter. Have you seen my hair?"

"As I said before, arrogant douchebag."

"Yeah, cause I can get any girl I want."

"That's a lie."

"Why is that?" he raises an eyebrow, a teasing smile on his face.

"You couldn't get me."

"Yeah, but I don't want you," he pushes off against the wall.

"Sure you don't."

"No, I just genuinely don't. You're not my type," he scrunches up his nose.

"What is your type?"

"Girls who are actually capable of having fun."

"I can have fun."

"Sure you can, just like Jay can go a week without freaking out."

"For the record I..."

"Kai, don't tell me you're harassing Skylor again," I turn my head at the sound of my best friend's voice. Her hair is soaking wet and brushed out. She has on a large, baggy t-shirt, blue slippers, and long pajama pants.

"No, just simply telling her I would never date her."

"She wouldn't date you anyways. You're gross," she tells him playfully, a little smile replacing her annoyed look.

"You're the grossest. You like water chestnuts, and those are absolutely nasty."

"I don't understand your hatred for them. They're practically tasteless. I just like the texture," Nya walks over and flops next to me on the couch.

"They're bland and moist and crunchy. Bleh," he runs a hand through his hair. "Well, I need to shower. If anyone knocks, answer it. I'm expecting people."

"Will do."

---

"Do it again, do it again!" Nya laughs at the impression I just did of the character in our movie.

"I don't know what you're talking about, my love. This is precisely how I always talk," I say in a posh British accent.

"You're literally Juliana. It sounds the exact same," she tells me.

"That's funny. I guess that's what my love of detective shows does," I shrug before eating a piece of popcorn. Nya takes a piece of dark chocolate and plops it in her mouth.

"Our love of detective shows," she corrects me. "Can I do it?" she asks in a horrible British accent.

"Not in the slightest."

"Damn, I..." she's interrupted by a knock at the door. "Ooh, the pizzas here. I'll go get it." Nya stands up, grabbing her wallet. "How much do we need?"

"Like ten bucks. I'll pay next time," I make sure it's even. She nods, slips back on her slippers, and walks to the door. I watch from afar as she opens it and sticks out the money, but it's not a pizza deliverer at the door.

"Sorry, I thought you were the pizza guy. Kai is in the shower," when I see Jay and Lloyd at the door, my eyes slightly widen. Nya has had a thing for Jay for as long as I can remember, even though she hasn't always admitted it. When he became friends with Kai, he started being around her more, and she finally admitted the fact that she'd been deflecting for years. While I've tried to tell her that he likes her back, which he clearly does, she always says it's just him being friendly.

"It's alright. Can we come in?" Lloyd asks. Nya nods, moving out of the way, and when she does, I notice both Jay and Lloyd are in costumes. Both with their masks in their hands, Lloyd is dressed like Batman and Jay is dressed like the Flash.

"Oooo what are you guys watching?" Jay asks, flopping down on the single seat chair.

"A crime movie we found online for $3," I answer.

Jay nods, looking at the paused screen, before looking back at Nya who is meandering in the kitchen. He has a small smile on his lips.

"Where are Cole and Zane?" I ask, curious at the absence of the rest of their group.

"They're going on a double date tonight. PIXAL and Seliel insisted on it," Lloyd answers, sitting down on the single seat chair next to Jay. It's a squeeze, but neither care.

"I finished the remote controlled heating blanket," Jay tells Nya who is still hiding in the kitchen.

"Didn't you just start it a couple of days ago?" she asks him, clearly impressed.

"I started it last Tuesday. You should come over and check it out. I need help making one that syncs with the user's current body temperature and desired body temperature," he suggests, his voice wavering more at the end, some nerves coming through. Lloyd and I both make eye contact, knowing what's going on.

"I..."

"Iron Man has arrived, everyone," Kai walks in, his own mask in his hand. "We're already running late, so we should get a move on."

"Where are you going?" Nya asks him, dropping the old conversation.

"Harumi Jade is throwing a masked costume party, and she's made it very clear that she wants Lloyd there, so while Lloyd is going to go seal the deal with Harumi, Jay and I are going to pick up mad chicks." I see Nya frown out of the corner of my eye.

"I don't know about..." Jay starts, but Kai cuts him off.

"You'll totally clutch up Jay, don't worry."

"Can we come?" I ask, trying to help out Nya.

"No, definitely not," he quickly answers, glaring at me. "There are college boys there, and who knows what they'll do."

"We can stay together," Nya chirps in, trying to persuade him.

"No way. Don't you have a movie night to finish or something?"

"We should probably get going if we want to make it there within the first thirty minutes," Lloyd looks up from his phone.

"You're right," Kai walks over to the kitchen and gives Nya a big hug, "I love you, sis."

"I love you too, Kai. Go have fun," she accepts defeat. He walks towards the door, opening it for his friends.

"Bye, Nya," Jay gives her a sweet and small smile before walking out the door. She gives him a wave. The boys close the door behind them as they leave. Nya sighs, walking over to where I'm sitting as I think.

"Oh no, you have that look on your face," Nya says when she looks over at me.

"What look?" I ask innocently.

"The one where you have a plan. You're scheming."

"You'll like it, trust me," I stand up, walking so I'm standing across the table from her. "You want to go to the party."

"I do, but Kai said no."

"Kai is a royal asshole, and technically, he has no authority over you," I inform her.

"You're right, but he would still kill me if he knew I went," she tells me as if I don't know already.

"Yeah, but you have to look at risk versus reward. If you go, it can not only show Kai you're not a child anymore, but you also get to hang out with Jay," at my words, she raises an eyebrow.

"Are you sure you're not just doing this as an 'f you' to Kai?"

"Well, it's a little bit of that, but I also think that he babies you far too much," I explain. "Plus, a party doesn't sound too shabby."

"What's your plan?"

"Well, it's a costume party, and we just happen to have been Catwoman and Batwoman for Halloween last year, both of which wear masks..."

"You're right, I do like it."

---

An hour later, Nya and I show up to the party as Batwoman and Catwoman respectively. As soon as we walk in, we're hit with the overwhelming scent of alcohol and sweat. The room is packed rim to rim with people, so it's unlikely we'll get caught.

"Come on, let's go dance," I tug on her arm. With a compliant smile, she follows me onto the dance floor.

Completely sober, we dance like there's no tomorrow. We jump up and down and swing our hips to the beat. The two of us sing the lyrics and party. Soon, other strangers join our little dancing circle. We don't know them, but since they're not being invasive, I don't care.

People come in and out of the group, each quickly getting replaced by someone else. After about an hour of dancing, Nya and I are exhausted. I gesture over to the door with my head, and the two of us leave. Panting, we make our way into the kitchen.

Since it's a giant kitchen, it's a lot less crowded than I thought it would be. There's a fair amount of space between everyone. The kitchen itself is elaborate and grand, but that's what one expects knowing it's the Jade family's. The counters are made of jade, as are the bar stools and the handles on everything. This place must cost a fortune. Everything appears shiny and clean.

"Let's get some water, I'm so thirsty," Nya pants. I nod in agreement.

"I never knew that partying was so tiring," I admit, wiping the sweat off my brow from underneath my mask. I grab a water bottle for both of us.

"Tell me about it, I..."

"Nya?" at the sound of a very familiar voice, both of us whip our heads around. Jay, still in his Flash costume, is staring at us. He has a cup with clear liquid that I'm assuming is water in it.

"I, I..."

"Ha, Lloyd owes me five bucks. I told him you two would show up," he takes a sip from his cup. He looks between the two of us before his eyes set on Nya. "I won't snitch, don't worry."

Nya lets out a sigh of relief, "Thank you."

"It's nothing," he flashes her a smile. "However, Kai would definitely kill me if he found out I knew you were here and didn't spend the rest of the night with you."

"I'm not opposed to that." A large smile is on both of their faces.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom. I'll catch up with you two later," I make up an excuse to leave them alone.

"Are you sure you don't want us to..." Nya starts.

"Positive. Now, shoo. I'm going to find the bathroom," the two of them walk off, and I get a smile on my lips. "Mission accomplished."

I take a seat in the corner of the room. Crossing one leg over the other, I pull out my phone to use up time, since I'm Nya's ride and can't leave. I go onto Instabrick, scrolling through my feed. When I see a picture of Seliel, Cole, Zane, and PIXAL on their date, I smile and like the post.

"Hey gorgeous, what're you doing all the way over here?" at the sound of his voice, I jump in my seat. Looking up, I see Kai, or should I say Iron Man, looking down at me, a smirk on his lips.

My body freezes, and I go into panic mode. He can't know that I'm here, or else all hell will break loose. "Parties have never been my style. I'm here with a friend, and I'm her ride, so I need to stay," I say in a British accent, panicking. I mentally face palm immediately afterwards.

"I could change that. Trust me, I know how to party," he buys it, a smirk plastered on his lips.

When I go to decline, his taunting from earlier fills my mind. Looking up at him, an idea comes into my mind. A smirk crosses my lips. "I'd like to see you try, Hot Stuff," I flirt back, having to hold back a gag.

"Oh I'll try, and I'll succeed," he sticks out his hand. I take it, putting my phone in my pocket and standing up. "I never got your name."

"I'm Juliana. Yours?" I say the first name that comes to mind, not wanting any hesitation for such a simple question.

"Kai. You want a drink?" he offers since we're in the kitchen.

"I can't. I'm the designated driver," I tell the truth, but Nya isn't going to drink at all either.

"Then, I won't drink either. It's all or nothing," he starts walking, and I follow him.

"Do you have any siblings?" he starts some small talk as we walk back to the main room.

"Nope, I'm an only child. You?" I ask, already knowing the answer.

"I have a younger sister who is everything to me. Our parents are out of town a lot, so we pretty much only have each other. She's stuck with me through a lot of shit, considering I used to be a bit out of control a while ago. She got me through those times where I felt alone."

"Is she here tonight?"

"No, she's at home watching a movie with her friend," he tells me as we walk into the main room. "Are you ready to dance?"

"Only if it's with you," I tell him flirtatiously. His smirk grows. He pulls me through the crowd to the center of the dance floor. Holding onto my waist, he pulls me close, and we start dancing. It's different from when I was dancing next to Nya. This is a lot closer, a lot more sensual, and while it makes me uncomfortable at first, I grow to actually enjoy it.

---

"Wow, your hips really don't lie," Kai says as he sips a glass of water, making me laugh. We've been hanging out for multiple hours now, rotating between talking and dancing, and I surprisingly have been having a good time.

"What can I say? My rhythm is a gift."

"And the fact that I lack it is a curse," he laughs before his eyes suddenly go wide. "Oh my gosh."

"What?" I turn behind me, and my eyes widen too. Lloyd, in his Batman costume, is pinned up against the wall by Harumi. Their lips are pressed against each other.

"That's my boy," he looks at Lloyd, proudly. "Wanna get out of here?" he asks, and I know exactly what his intentions are.

"Of course I do," I hum. Quickly, he takes my hand, and we weave through the crowd. Kai forces his way through until we're out of the house. Then, he leads me through the array of cars to his red truck. The two of us get in the cab of the truck.

As soon as the door shuts behind me, he pulls me towards him so I'm straddling him. He rips off his mask, revealing the rest of his face that was hidden. He runs a hand through his hair, biting his lip, and even I can't deny that he looks attractive right now.

He lifts his hand, running his thumb slowly and lightly over my bottom lip. The action sends shivers throughout my body. His hand slowly moves down, traveling down the side of my body until it rests on my waist. He rubs circles there. His other hand finds its' way to my thigh.

"My god, you're so hot," he tells me before pressing his lips to my neck. My eyes flutter shut as he works his way up my neck. He starts down low by my collar bone and moves up slowly. Each kiss gets more fervent, the kisses faster and harder. The contact makes my chest tight and makes me wish for more.

When he reaches my jawline, he slowly keeps going up until he reaches my lips. When he does, he pulls me even closer to him as his lips move against mine. I grip onto the back of his costume as his tongue moves into my mouth.

My heart races as his hands explore my body. When he squeezes my inner thigh, I let out a small gasp, making him smirk against my lips.

"I want you so bad," he tells me lowly. I'm broken out of the trance I was in.

"What did you say?" I ask in my fake accent.

"I said that I want you," he repeats himself, his lips just centimeters from mine. I can feel his breath against my skin.

"That's funny, because earlier you said you didn't want me," I say in my regular voice now. His eyes widen as he leans back further.

"Skylor?" he asks in shock, his face turning red for the first time that I've ever seen.

I smirk, taking my mask off. "The one and only. See, I am capable of having fun."

"You...you tricked me!" he says, flustered

"Oh come on, a little catfish never hurt anyone," I say, starting to move off of his lap. "Besides your ego, apparently."

"Screw it," he says to himself before holding onto my waist. I raise an eyebrow at him as he looks into my eyes. "I've always wanted you, but I knew that you'd never want me, so I've acted how I have toward you. It was a bad move, being that much of an outrageous flirt towards you, but it was all I knew how to do."

"You aren't going to trick me," I inform him, even though my own body reacts differently. My heart races as he looks at me, and it feels harder to breathe. His hand that's moving up and down my thigh captures my attention.

"It's not a trick. I swear on my love for Nya," he confirms that it's true. I'm stuck frozen, looking at his perfect face. Everything about it, from the slope of his nose to the single dimple on his left cheek, are gorgeous. "Now please Skylor, please kiss me."

Letting my instincts take over, I press my lips against his as I grip onto his strong arms.

I don't regret it.

A/N my first Kailor one-shot of this book (woohoo). I looked at what ships have been in the book so far, and there's a LOT of Jaya, but what can you expect from me (whoops)

I have an AU in my head where the ninja are all "evil", but I don't know if I'll want to turn it into a book so I don't know if I want to write them as one-shots. Maybe I'll write some in the same universe (I have a Jaya one, Kailor one, a Coliel one and possibly a Llorumi). I also kind of want to wait tho so we'll see.

Thoughts on this?

Thank you all for reading! I hope you enjoyed
