(Cole's POV)

Alright this looks like the place Zane told me to pick up Lloyd and his mom.........and Garmadon, I'm really not looking forward to driving him back to the others, if he even just looks at me weirdly I am throwing him out of this vehicle and leaving him behind for the Devourer to have. I'm pretty sure we can defeat a giant snake without that guys extra arms, if anything those extra arms will just get in the way 

Where are those three anyway? I thought by the time I arrived they would be waiting right here for me, maybe I could use this extra bit of time to check up on Seliel. As far as we know the public don't know anything about the Serpentine releasing the Devourer but it's only a matter of time until they find out

I could maybe send her a text warning her about the Devourer? But that could possibly give away the whole me being the Earth Ninja thing, Lloyd and Kai have it so easy with Skylor and Harumi both being apart of the team. They never have to lie to them about going off to save the day as one of the Secret Ninja Force members, but what if I don't have to lie to Seliel anymore? Skylor and Harumi managed to train themselves good enough to join us so imagine how good Seliel could be if we all trained her? 

Argh! Forget it! That's a stupid idea! I love Seliel and I don't want to be putting her into any danger, that's one of the main reasons why I haven't told her about this whole Ninja thing in the first place, and besides she seems to be somewhat against the Ninja right now so if I go reveal myself to her and ask her to join us I don't think she'll want to be with me anymore. That is if she's even with me at the moment, it feels like forever ago we last just hung out by ourselves or even talked. Guess her turning against the Ninja has kind of drifted us apart a little, as soon as this Serpentine problem is taken care of I have to sort this all out. Maybe I could take her out on a nice date in the city, or a picnic on a nice hill with just the two of us? What about a rock concert? Even just being in the same classroom will be good enough! 

You know what, yeah! Let's do it! I'm gonna go ahead and text her right now! But which one to go with it? Hmmmmm, ah I'm sure it won't matter! As long as it's just the two of us getting to reconnect after what feels like ages it'll be fine! Now to just grab my phone and actually write the text....

Okay maybe it could start off like this? Ah no that's too forward, I'll change it to this. But that's also a little too forward, ugh I thought I was supposed to be the cool one of the group and here I am struggling to ask my own girlfriend out on a date!? At this rate Jay would have finally gathered the courage to at least ask Nya if she wanted to do homework together........wait, that's it! Start it off with us doing homework and then change it us going on our date! Haha Cole you are a genius! Now to type this all out and send it to h-

"Hey Cole!" A muffled voice outside my vehicle caught me off guard and almost made me bang my head into the Tread Assault's windshield, I looked over at the voice to see Lloyd and his mom along with Lord Garmadon waiting outside of my black and gold dune buggy "Open up! Someone might see us!" Lloyd said as he looked around to make sure nobody was close by, guess I'll have to text Seliel later 

Doing as the Green Ninja asked I opened the Tread Assault's cockpit to allow for Lloyd and his mom to just barely fit inside behind me, but once Lord Garmadon tried to get in I pressed down on the same button I used to open the vehicle and locked the four armed menace out "Sorry Garmy! But it looks like we're all out of room, you'll just have to ride on top of this thing instead!" I told him, trying not to grin as he scoffed and climbed onto the back of the large vehicle, putting those extra arms to use as I blasted out of the alleyway at full speed, hoping to just maybe have Garmadon fly off mid way through the journey back to the junkyard 

Unfortunately Garmadon did not end up flying off mid way through the journey back to the junkyard, at least when we came to a sudden stop he let go and crashed face first into the desert sand "A heads up would have been nice...." Garmadon groaned as he spat out a little bit of sand with two of his arms brushing the sand off his purple robes

"After everything Lloyd told me about I would say you deserve it!" Lloyd's mom snapped at her ex husband as the four of us walked into Ed and Edna's junkyard, during the ride over here Lloyd decided to fill his mom in on everything that happened with the Devourer, needless to say she is not happy with Garmadon helping to unleash such a massive threat to all of Ninjago. Literally

Walking past the Walker's rusty trailer and a few piles of scrap, junk, tyres and anything else you could imagine, we met up with the other Ninja who looked to be putting a plan together "Sup guys!" I called out to them with a wave "I'm back with those three people you ordered!"

"Ah Cole, there you are" Zane happily said to me "And it is a pleasure to see you again Ms Garmadon" The Nindroid politely greeted the orange haired woman with a bow "Oh please, just call me Koko, all of you" She graciously told us 

"So what's the deal with us coming to this rinky-dink scrapyard? All I can see is a bunch of tyres and mechanical trash" Lord Garmadon asked, receiving a dirty look from the Blue Ninja "Well Garmadon, we came here because as you already know the Great Devourer likes to consume and this place is practically a buffet for the giant serpent, so naturally it will come here to satisfy its hunger from being trapped underground for all those decades" Zane explained to Garmadon and the rest of us 

The red headed orange Ninja was the next in line to ask Zane a question "Alright then why do we need the Sacred Flute? The Great Devourer is massive! There's no way that one little flute will do anything" Skylor has a point, if Zane is planning on just playing a little song on that wooden instrument and asking it go back underground he's got a screw loose "Now that is where we come in!" Nya suddenly jumped forward as she and Jay rolled out a set of blueprints on a broken down cars hood 

All of us leaned in to get a closer look at what Jay and Nya seemed to have designed and to be honest it looked like a bunch of nonsense, scratching my head I tried to understand what it was supposed to be but the only thing I understood was the word "cannons", no wonder I'm failing engineering "I-I-I know it ummm d-d-doesn't look l-like much b-but trust us, if we can m-make this thing it w-will be the best D-D-Devourer stopper y-you've ever seen!" Jay stuttered 

"There's no doubt that anything my lil sis has come up with will totally rock" Kai praised his sister with a wide grin "Whatever you need to put that thing together just ask and you'll get it!" He pumped his fist into the air as Zane stepped forward "On the topic of what we need, Lloyd do you have the Sacred Flute?"

The blonde haired teen reached behind him and retrieved the wooden instrument from his green belt "Yep! Here you go" He said before handing it over to the bright eyed Nindroid "Thank you Lloyd, now we need someone who can play the flute" 

"Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me! I can do it!" Garmadon jumped up and down with his arms waving around to get our attention, is he serious?! Him playing the flute almost made my ears fall off! And this is coming from the guy who always listens to his music on max volume!  "Please please please let me do it Mr Robot Ninja! I pretty promise with all the cherries on top that I'll play it the bestest I can!" The warlord started begging Zane to let him play the Sacred Flute, trying to do what looked like an attempt at puppy dog eyes but failing terribly, doing more "evil warlord that wants to ruin everything" eyes 

Thankfully Zane didn't fall for Garmadon's horrible puppy dog eyes trick and politely turned him down, I know if I were that Nindroid I would have crushed his musical dreams right then and there. What can I say? Having a father that's in The Royal Blacksmiths I had to listen to every kind of criticism, and this is me going easy on the guy "If Garmadon isn't going to play it who will?" Harumi asked "The only one of us here I would say has good enough experience to play it would be Cole" She turned to look at me, I instantly put my hands in front of me 

"Hey don't look at me, I'm only into rock and roll" I said putting my hands down as everyone looked back at Zane and the flute that still needed a player "I could do it" We all turned to look at the voice that just volunteered themselves 

"Mom? You know how to play it?" Lloyd asked Koko as Zane handed to Sacred Flute to her "Of course I do, this was one of our greatest weapons during the Serpentine War" She told her son "Wait you fought in the Serpentine War?! Lloyd your mom is so awesome!" Nya exclaimed, Koko just chuckled at the teen's admiration 

The Ice Ninja stepped closer to Lloyd's mom before flipping open some sort of panel on his arm to reveal what looked like a voice recorder "Alright Ms Garmadon, if you could please play the flute for exactly 30 seconds while aiming the bottom part of the Sacred Flute towards my recording arm that should be exactly what we need" Koko nodded before moving the flute up to her mouth to begin playing the ancient instrument 

Everyone made sure to be completely silent as Koko played the Sacred Flute, and she played it wonderfully. Instead of wanting to run away my ears left as if they wanted to get closer to the flute, no wonder Serpentine are mesmerised by it, I feel like I'm about to start being controlled by it. Unfortunately the beautiful flute playing came to an end after the 30 seconds it was needed for, with Zane pressing a couple of buttons on his arm before closing the flap 

"Thank you Ms Garmadon, now we can begin working on putting the blueprints together" Zane politely thanked the orange haired woman before directing us all to follow him over to said blueprints "Pssh, I could have played it way better....." Garmadon muttered under his breath beside me, ugh I hope whatever these guys have drawn up needs a four armed practice dummy 

"Okay so how are we going to do this? You guys just give us a list of stuff you need and we go rummage through these piles of junk to get it?" Harumi asked the three engineers of the team who just looked back at the white haired teen "Uhhhh, n-n-not exactly" The freckled Blue Ninja replied with his usual nervousness "Y-Y-You see, only a ummm f-f-few of the parts we need a-are actually here so we uhhh k-k-kind of need to c-create the parts ourselves" 

Create the parts ourselves? That'll take forever! By the time we've made one cannon the Great Devourer would have gotten to the city and completely destroyed it! Not to mention that most of us don't know anything about all of this mechanical nonsense these three are so good at, why can't they just put their big brains together and do it themselves?! 

"I don't know about this, creating all those parts you guys need could take up a lot of time" I stated with my arms crossed "Actually Cole it'll take no time at all!" Nya said as she sprung off the car she was sitting on "The way we're gonna create this bad boy is by using a little thing known as the Tornado of Creation!" She told us excitedly, now that's more like it! This is going to be so much cooler than scavenging those junk piles! 

The other Ninja jumped back a little at the news, but I of course was more than ready to do the Tornado of Creation again! It was so epic the last time so think about how cooler it will be now that we have Harumi and Skylor on the team! And Garmadon could help too I guess......

"Sis are you sure about that?" Kai stepped forward with a question "We've only ever done it once, how do you know if it'll work this time?" He continued questioning his little sister "Oh come on bro, don't be so worried it will all be fine, Zane calculated everything and we have a 96% success rate!" Nya enthusiastically told her spiky haired brother 

"Sounds like a good idea to me" Lloyd jumped in to support Nya's idea "If we could do it once I'm sure we can do it again, it's also looking like our best option right now, the Devourer could be here any minute and we're gonna need something to stop it"

I turned to the other Ninja who looked to be coming around to the Tornado of Creation idea, even Kai looked to have been convinced, I'm honestly surprised he actually had to be convinced, out of all of us I thought he would have been the most hyped up to use the Tornado of Creation again. Guess he's maturing or something 

"If nobody has any objections to the plan then we shall proceed with recreating the Tornado of Creation" Zane spoke out before spinning around into his icy white Spinjitzu 

"Alright! Ninja-Go!" I shouted loudly with excitement as I spun into my rocky brown Spinjitzu vortex, while spinning I looked around to see the other Ninja create their small colourful tornados, but something was off. Maybe all this spinning around was messing with my eyes but I swear I could see another two Spinjitzu's among the others, a purple one along with a sand green one? 

Okay I know that the purple one belongs to Lord Garmadon, I'm just surprised that he's actually helping us instead of taking this as an opportunity to backstab us, maybe Garmadon's planning on messing up whatever we're creating with the Tornado of Creation. So then who owns that sand green one? It can't be Lloyd or Harumi, so does that mean it's..........Lloyd's mom? 

Well who ever owned it joined us in circling around Lloyd's green Spinjitzu before we all spun towards the Green Ninja's vortex, all of the differently coloured Spinjitzu's began to form into the one giant bright golden tornado and I could feel it pulling in all sorts of materials from the junkyard around us, the sounds of metal being fused together could be heard inside of the huge Tornado of Creation that continued to rapidly spin in place as more and more stuff was drawn into the large tornado 

In a bright golden flash the Tornado of Creation disappeared and we all spun out of our Spinjitzu's, just in time to watch the sand green tornado unveil its spinner "Your mom knows Spinjitzu?! Lloyd your mom is so awesome!" Nya fangirled over Koko, practically with stars in her eyes as the ginger woman just chuckled 

"And whatever we just made is awesome!" Kai said while admiring what the Tornado of Creation had just created out of nothing but spare parts, man we should use this thing more often, thought it does leave me feeling pretty tired afterwards......

I suppose while I sit down to rest for a little I can join everyone else in checking out what all my energy went into making, and Kai was right, this thing is awesome! It looks like one hell of a tank! The left and ride side of the vehicle had two brown treads that are perfect for going after the Devourer, its middle was pretty big, and that's not even counting the very large black wheel all the way at the back of it! The tank had a mix of white and black detailing with bits of gold scattered around it like at the front of the left and right section 

As my eyes looked all over the large vehicle I noticed all the spots somebody could sit, and I'm pretty sure this thing can fit all of us, or at least us Ninja, Garmadon and Koko will have to sit this one out. Both the left and right sides looked like two people could ride together and the middle section seemed to fit three people with the top part just being able to seat one 

"Now we just have to upload the recording of Koko playing the Sacred Flute into the Ultra Sonic Raider's sound library and it shall be fully functional" Zane explained, flipping open his arm flap again to stick some sort of cable into it and link it up to what he was dubbing the Ultra Sonic Raider

The Nindroid stood still until a small beep went off and two large cannons suddenly sprang up from the vehicles side, I knew this thing had cannons! "Ah this is no fair! You Ninja always get the cool toys!" Garmadon sulked with his four arms crossed in jealousy 

Suddenly the desert ground beneath our feet began to rumble and shake, I jumped back onto my feet and pulled on my mask just like the other Ninja as we looked out toward the junkyards entrance, looking out for what had just caused Jay to jump into Lloyd's arms. Staring out at the desert with narrowed eyes I could see a cloud of sand racing toward us, tearing up everything in its path

"That's the Devourer" Lloyd stared down the approaching monster "The Tornado of Creation must have gotten its attention" He said before turning around and running back to his mom and Garmadon with us following behind "Both of you get into that trailer and don't come out until I say" The blonde pointed over to the Walker's trailer "Oh come on Lloyd! I can totally stay out here and help destroy that overgrown serpent, these four arms ain't made for nothing!" Lord Garmadon widely grinned, four silver swords in his hands 

"No, I need you to look after mom, it's the least you could do after everything you've put her through" Lloyd coldly told his father before heading over to the Ultra Sonic Raider, being stopped by a hand on his shoulder "Please be careful Lloyd" Koko looked at her son with a pleading look "Of course, now quick get inside the trailer" The Green Ninja gave his mom a reassuring smile as she swiftly joined Garmadon inside the Walker's trailer, the sound of its rusty door locking snapped our attention back to the nearing Great Devourer 

Jay, Nya and Zane wasted no time in jumping into the tank we created moments ago, Jay taking the top seat with Zane and Nya sitting in the sort of control centre part of the large white and black vehicle. Alright let's do this! "I call dips on the left part!" I loudly exclaimed before dashing over to my claimed spot and grabbing hold of the grey handlebars attached in front of me 

"Oh no you don't boulder boy, I've been eyeing this part ever since I saw those blueprints so better move over" Skylor said before hopping onto the seat behind me "Hey if you got the left then I get the right!" Kai grinned under his mask as he grabbed the right tread's handlebars, Harumi deciding to join him "Then I guess that leaves me with the front seat then" Lloyd pointed out, climbing into the middle part's front seat and joining Nya and Zane who worked away on starting up the Ultra Sonic Raider, spouting large flames from its exhausts 

The sand cloud grew closer and closer to the junkyard until finally it blew away to reveal the monstrous Great Devourer that looked down at us with its purple reptilian eyes, somehow looking to have grown bigger since the last time we've seen it "Uh g-g-guys, does t-t-that thing look b-b-bigger to anybody e-else?!" Jay's panicked voice came over the coms "Jay's right, this thing must have been munching down on everything on its way here" I commented, not sure how to feel about me and this thing having something in common......

As if the overgrown snake thought my little comment was a fat joke, it unleashed an ear piercing screech that made me really wish I chose to sit inside this thing with Nya and Zane "This snake really likes to make some noise, let's see how well it likes our noise!" Lloyd shouted over the Devourer's cry as he aimed the sonic cannons right at the massive beast and fired the sounds of the Sacred Flute at it, the sounds of the flute just barely missing the Great Devourer 

"Oh come on Lloyd! This thing is massive! How did you miss it?!" Kai yelled over at the Green Ninja "Well Kai we did just create this thing a few minutes ago so excuse me if I'm not exactly a professional!" The blonde teen yelled back before trying to take another shot at the monstrous serpent, the sonic blast missed again and just looked to be angering the Devourer even more 

The Great Devourer suddenly lunged its giant head right at us but Zane was quick enough in pressing some sort of reverse button and took control of the cannons to have his own attempt at shooting the serpent attacking us, it saw the blast coming and effortlessly moved itself away from the Nindroid's attack "The Great Devourer is too fast to hit with our sonic blasts, we will have to keep it still if we wish to hit it" Zane spoke as we dodged another head bash from the massive snake 

"How are we going to do that? If we can't hit this thing with our cannons how are we supposed to hold it still?! I'm strong but not that strong!" I asked the white haired Nindroid who just looked back over at Nya with a smirk on his face "Care to do the owners Nya?" 

"Gladly!" Nya grinned widely before she grabbed hold of two levers in front of her and thrusted the both of them forward, all of a sudden shooting Skylor and I along with Kai and Harumi away from the Ultra Sonic Raider, splitting us into two separate motorcycles! "Wow! This thing can split into other vehicles! That's so awesome!" Skylor took the words right out of my mouth as the two detached cycles raced around the Devourer "A-A-And that's n-not all!" 

We all looked up above to see Jay had also split off from the tank and was now flying over us in a sleek black and white jet with two large blade like golden wings, he always gets the flying stuff! When will it be my turn!? I guess I shouldn't be complaining, this motorcycle is also very cool "Attached to each of your bikes should be a harpoon shooter" Zane explained to us and wouldn't you know it there was one right on the left side of Skylor and I's white and brown treaded cycle "I suggest you use those to hold the Great Devourer in place"

"Jay, fly around the Devourer to distract it, Kai and Cole you guys need to use that time to shoot your harpoons into its scales and hold it still so we can finally hit it!" Lloyd ordered us, Jay's part was up first and just like Lloyd wanted he flew his jet up to the Great Devourer, spinning around its head while the snake tried to bite into the Blue Ninja's vehicle 

Now it's our turn! Kai and I looked over at each other and shared a confident nod before the both of us raced at top speed toward the distracted Devourer, Kai and Harumi took the left side while me and Skylor took up the right side. Skylor adjusted the harpoon shooter on our cycle before I shot the projectile at our side of the Devourer, with the other two motorcycle riders doing the same. Both of the harpoons managed to latch onto the giant serpent's tough scales and before the snake could notice us Kai and I quickly reversed backwards at the same time, just about managing to hold the serpent in place with our surprisingly strong ropes 

"Go for it Lloyd! This should keep it still for a bit!" Harumi exclaimed from behind Kai, her boyfriend nodded then aimed for the Devourer and fired an actually successful sonic blast that hit the Great Devourer right in the centre of its large ugly serpentine face, the serpent roared in pain as it slammed down into the desert sand "A-A-Alright!" Jay happily cheered in the sky above 

If the Devourer was only angry before it was now furious, after recovering from Lloyd's blast the massive beast released a shriek with the serpent then whipping its sharp tail into the air and cutting one of the wings from Jay's jet clean off, luckily the Blue Ninja was able to land the jet into a pile of tyres nearby. We couldn't worry about Jay for too long as the Devourer's menacing purple eyes instantly locked onto me and Kai below, the monstrous snake quickly spun around and snapped the two ropes, sending the four of us crashing into another pile of tyres in the junkyard 

"Are you all okay?" Lloyd asked the five of us "We're fine, just keep shooting!" Kai told the Green Ninja who nodded in response and took another shot at the Devourer, landing a direct hit on the Devourer's large stomach "Nice one Lloyd!" Skylor cheered him on as the blonde aimed for another sonic blast, this one hoping to nail the serpentine right in the dome! 

The sounds of the Sacred Flute exploded out of the sonic cannons, going straight toward our enormous target and just about scraping the top of the Devourer's scaly head. Nya suddenly gasped and pointed at the Devourer's forehead "Look! There's a weak spot on its forehead!" 

"What?! I can't hear you!" Lloyd shouted over the sounds of the Sacred Flute blasting from the Sonic Raider's cannons "I said there's a weak spot on its-" before the Water Ninja could finish telling us whatever she just said, a rattling noise came from behind the white and black tank and out of nowhere sprang the Devourer's sharp tail which stabbed itself right into the middle of the remaining section of the Ultra Sonic Raider, splitting it into two before the Great Devourer simply slithered away 

The others and I all rushed over to see if Lloyd, Zane and Nya were alright "Are you three okay?" I asked, helping Lloyd out of the ruined vehicle with Kai and Skylor lifting Zane out of his torn seat "Yeah, we should be fine, just a little shaken up" Lloyd replied holding his head "W-W-Where's N-Nya?" Jay asked with worry, looking like he was about to start panicking 

"I'm right here" Nya's voice came from behind us, sounding some what rough as we watched her  climb out of her destroyed part of the Ultra Sonic Raider, showing her gi was slightly damaged by the Devourer's attack "Oh t-t-thank The F-First Spinjitzu M-M-Master" Jay sighed in relief that Nya was ok "Geez Jay get a hold of yourself dude, it looks like you're about to cry" I teased the freckled teen with him instantly turning red "N-N-No I w-w-wasn't!" He looked away with crossed arms, Nya giggled in the background before composing herself 

"Anyways, as I was saying before the Devourer rudely interrupted me, I managed to see what I think was a weak spot on its forehead" Nya explained to us "It looked a bit like a green pimple" Ew, we really didn't need to know that, or at least I certainly didn't "Oh, great, l-l-let me make a n-note of that. Giant s-snake has wee, itty-bitty w-w-weak spot that'll be totally i-impossible to get at b-because the thing is too r-r-ridiculously huge to do a-anything to stop i-it!" Jay returned to his panicking state "Are you done?" Harumi asked from beside him, clearly unimpressed "Y-Yes, sorry...." He apologised with his head hung low 

Now that the Devourer looked to be nowhere near the junkyard Lloyd walked over to the Walker's trailer to give Garmadon and Koko the all clear "Alright you two it's safe to come out now" The rusty door opened shortly after with Lloyd's mom rushing out first to almost suffocate her son in a loving hug "Oh thank your father's father you're ok!" She happily said, finally letting Lloyd breathe as Lord Garmadon stumbled out of the old trailer "Finally I'm free! That trailer is a total dump!" 

"G-Geez, thanks..." Jay mumbled 

"So did you guys manage to get rid of that monster?" Garmadon asked us "Where are all of its bones? Did you guys already fashion them into pretty little necklaces?" The warlord looked around the junkyard for any sign of a dead Devourer "Unfortunately we were unable to stop the Great Devourer, although it was not a complete failure as Nya was able to spot a weak spot on its forehead" Zane filled Koko and Garmadon in "We believe that it is now currently heading towards Ninjago City so we must act quickly"

"If the Great Devourer consumes Ninjago City, there'll be no way of stopping it" Koko solemnly told us, it there was ever a time to put our game faces on right now would be that time "Then let's get after that overgrown snake! I want to see that thing suffer for everything it's done to me" Lord Garmadon said, suddenly sounding serious and threatening 

All of us Ninja looked at each other with somewhat surprised looks before cutting it out and joining the four armed warlord in showing our game faces, our Golden Weapon vehicles were summoned in a flash and before you could say "big chocolate cake with extra cream" we raced after the Great Devourer with the intent of finally getting rid of it 

What serious words to end off this Ninja Life chapter, will Cole ever find out a good way to text Seliel? Will Garmadon stop insulting where Jay lives? And will the Ninja turn the Great Devourer's bones into pretty little necklaces?! I really hope that last one is true so I guess I'll be joining you all in finding out in the next Ninja Life chapter!
